(2 Peter 3:9)

Reaching this lost and confused world. 6 months ago I did a Devotional on reality TV. Here is a quote from that 4/2/03 Devotional, “The only thing left to do was actually have someone die, right there on LIVE television.” Now, here are some excerpts from an AP story on 9/30/03, “The leader of the rock band Hell on Earth said Monday that an onstage suicide will be conducted during a private St. Petersburg concert this weekend in defiance of a new city law designed to stop the act. ‘The show will go on,’ Billy Tourtelot said. ‘It will be available on the Internet and it will be in the city limits (of St. Petersburg).’ ”

I urge you today to pray for this sin-filled world that we live in. A world that is so lost in sin that it looks to escape in the most perverse ways. As richly blessed as we are in the United States, we have allowed our culture to decay to the point that we are really no better than the ancient Romans who spent their recreation time in the Coliseum watching Christians being fed to the lions. THAT was their entertainment!!! THAT is where we find OUR culture today!!!

I am saying that we, the people of God, the blood-bought sons and daughters of the King, had better start to get serious before WE are the ones being fed to the lions again. CAN’T HAPPEN? 40 years ago if you told someone that you could watch the most perverted sex acts, watch the most vile humor, watch the most graphic acts of violence imaginable, right in the comfort of your living room, they would have told you IT CAN’T HAPPEN!

Wednesday afternoon I spent several hours at All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg. I went there to visit a 17 year old girl battling with leukemia that watches my television program and had called in for prayer the other night. When I arrived, I met a young woman that recognized me from the TV program and asked me to come pray for her little girl. 3 years old, with a disease that I can not even pronounce, and the doctors give this precious child less than a few months to live.

What does this have to do with reaching this lost and confused world? Because of sin, man’s rebellion to God, there will always be pain and suffering, there will always be evil in this world. There is only one true answer for this lost and confused world, and that is Jesus Christ. He, and He alone, is the only hope there is.

For those who are lost and hurting, without hope, Jesus is the answer they are looking for. He came to give them life, and life more abundantly. Through their faith in Him, their sins would be forgiven and they would have the assurance of everlasting life. They have the promise that when this brief journey is over, they would spend eternity with Jesus!

I love you and care about you so much. I know so many of you are battling the pain and suffering of this life, dealing with the evil that exists in this world. Jesus said that in this life we would have trials, we would have tribulation, but to be of good cheer because HE HAS OVERCOME THIS WORLD! Through your faith in Him, you can know the joy, the peace, the abundance of this life regardless of your circumstances.

I pray today that you will pass this message of hope on to someone that you know, that needs to know someone cares about them. For those of us who know Christ as our Savior, we have a responsiblity to share His love with those we meet along our journey. There is nothing greater that you can give someone than the words of everlasting life. Someone shared them with you, and it is now your turn to share them with someone else.

For anyone reading this today, that does not have 100% assurance that if your life ends today you will spend eternity with God, the Bible says TODAY is the day of salvation. Please take a few minutes, the most important few minutes of your life, and go to: http://www.liveprayer.com/bdy_salvatn.html . Simply ask God to open your heart and then read it. JESUS CHRIST, is the one and only answer for this lost and confused world!

In His love and service,
Your friend and brother in Christ,
Bill Keller
