Are You Working in a Wicked Place?

(Colossians 3:23)

***DAILY PERSONAL PRAYER FOR YOU: Dear Lord, help me this day to be a great ambassador for you! Let my conversation and my actions today draw people to your hope and love. In the name of Jesus I pray…AMEN!

I know from the emails that I get, many people go to work each day in absolutely wicked places. I am amazed at the level of evil so many face each day from customers, co-workers, and bosses. Many who openly profess Christ as their Savior endure persecution at work for their faith.

For those of you who go to work each day in a hostile work environment, where people come against you, many simply because you are a Christian, I want you to know that it is NO ACCIDENT OR COINCIDENCE you work where you do. God has put you there for a reason . . . to be HIS light in the darkness.

As I have stated so many times, the child of God is expected to live UP to the standards of God, not down to the standards of this world. This world says to do as little as possible to get by. On your job, do what you have to do, nothing more. God says that you are to do your very best, work with all of your heart to please the Lord, not man.

Even though you may work for your boss, you are actually working for THE BOSS! God doesn’t expect you to do what you can’t do, only your very best at what you can do. Those who know the Lord should always be the best workers, since we understand we are working for the Lord, not man.

Never forget, we have the largest percentage of two full generations that has never been to church. YOU ARE THE ONLY BIBLE MANY OF THOSE YOU ARE IN CONTACT WITH EACH DAY AT YOUR JOB WILL EVER READ! Our greatest testimony to those God has put in our life is not what we say, but how we live our life each day! I guarantee you, people notice!

Let me tell you what the big picture strategy of Liveprayer is. It is a very simple plan. Use the Internet, secular t.v. and radio, and advertising, to let people know when they are hurting, looking for answers, there is a place they can come. You see, I understand that EVERYONE deals with the same issues in life like finances, health, death, relationships, careers, and addictions.

I simply want to be there, visible and accessible so that when they face these issues, they know there is a place to come to find strength and hope. That is why God has you working where you are. To be that bright light, so when those you come in contact with each day are hurting, looking for strength and hope, they know they can come to you.

That is when you can share with them the fact that Jesus is their only real hope. In the midst of their struggles, He is the ONLY answer. It is at those times when God can use you as an instrument to help those who are hurting find strength in Christ and peace that only God can give. THAT IS WHY YOU ARE WORKING WHERE YOU ARE!

I love you and care about you so much. I realize that many of you face incredible challenges each day on your job. I will be praying today that God will encourage you and help you to see that you are not at that job just for a paycheck, but He has placed you there to be a witness for Him to those you come in contact with each day.

Take time before you go to work to pray for God to help you to do your very best in your job that day, working as unto the Lord, not man as a testimony to those you work with. Also, pray that God will let your light shine bright so that those who may be hurting, will come to you with their problems and give you the opportunity to pray for them and share with them the hope and love of Jesus.

I pray that you will never look at your job as just a way to earn a paycheck again, but look at it for what it really is, A MINISTRY. All of God’s children are called to serve Him. Realize that you serve Him every day when you go to work, since it is no accident or coincidence where you work. GOD PUT YOU THERE!

In His love and service,

Your friend and brother in Christ,

Bill Keller

Tired of Fighting the Battles of Life

(1 Thessalonians 5:17)

***DAILY PERSONAL PRAYER FOR YOU: Lord, thank you for meeting my daily needs as you have promised in your Word. I look to you and your alone for my sustenance through life, and thank you for your faithfulness. Please help me to be a good steward of the funds you entrust into my care during this life, and give me favor in my finances, and wisdom in my decisions. In the name of Jesus I pray…AMEN!

Tired of fighting the battles of life and having someone like me tell you to “just have faith,” or, “trust the Lord,” or, “God will guide you.” What do you do when you don’t have any more faith, when you can’t trust the Lord, when God is not guiding you? How do you really fight thru the battles of life? It is easy to sit back when everything is calm, relatively quiet, going as smooth as life can ever go, and tell someone who is in the heat of the battle to “trust God,” or to “have more faith.”

When the attacks are coming relentlessly, when you are fighting one battle and at the same time a new one starts, and in the midst of dealing with that one, another one starts, and all of a sudden you find yourself consumed, what do you do???

As I write this Devotional today, I am literally in my foxhole taking a quick break from the battles, having had only about 2 hours sleep in the last 2 days. Over these last 18 years, I have learned how to fight the daily battles associated with being on the front lines of the Lord’s work, while finding those pockets of “down time” each day, find a little time each day to keep my physical body in the best shape I can, get my 4 hours of sleep each night, have a meaningful relationship with my wife, and accomplish all that I need to for the Lord for that day.

Of course there are times when the attacks come and the daily routine has to be forfeited in order to fight. It has been several years since the attacks have come with such intensity, in endless waves, and from many different directions at the same time!!!

Today, I want to help you how to fight when you are in the heat of battle, when the enemy is attacking you from all sides, when there is no time to even think, when you are weary from fighting, when you have thoughts of giving up, when you start to feel defeated, when you start to feel your strength ebbing away and you begin to lose hope, when simply gaining an inch is a victory.

How do you fight when satan is coming after you with the sole intent of taking you out? I know today many of you are dealing with non-stop attacks from many directions. How do you not only fight..but win???

Here is the most important things to never forget, it is the key, PRAY! The boxer Mike Tyson actually said one thing in his life that was very profound. Tyson said you can train for a fight, prepare, study film, put together a great strategy, and do all you can to get ready. However, all the planning and strategy is gone the second you get hit in the mouth. I’m not saying we shouldn’t be prepared for the attacks of satan, or spiritually train, or plan how we will fight. What I am saying is that the moment you get hit, it is no longer a hypothetical, it is really happening. How are you going to respond when satan hits you in the mouth?

Obviously, of the 40,000 or so people who contact Liveprayer every day for prayer, the vast majority are in the midst of great battles in their life. The biggest mistake I see people make, the biggest mistake I sometimes make, is forgetting to pray. Once the battle begins we start fighting. That is our survival instincts kicking in. That is why when you start to fight multiple battles on many different fronts, you get overwhelmed, fatigued, frustrated, and eventually despair sets in, hopelessness sets in, and soon you begin to think about where to run and hide.

I can’t stress enough that your first response MUST BE PRAYER! John 15:5, “without me you can do nothing!” When we are weak, He is strong. God will fight for us. God will give us wisdom. There is victory in Jesus. These are all great truths but we need to first call on that name above all names and ask Him to help us. We need to ask Him to make us strong! We need to ask Him to fight for us!

We need to ask Him for wisdom! We need to declare that there is victory in Jesus! If you don’t pray you are already defeated. You can’t do it on your own, nor do you have to. This is the time to make your faith real. You say you trust God, that your faith is in Jesus, now is the time to prove it. PRAY LIKE YOU TRUST GOD AND BELIEVE IN JESUS!!!

Will praying make the attacks stop, make the devil go away? Nope. It will probably make him come after you even harder. What it does do is gives you renewed strength and energy. It also helps to clear your mind. How you look at a situation is critical. You can either look at a situation as hopeless or simply a hurdle that needs to be overcome. The power of prayer is that it gives you the increased faith, the confidence, the ability to look at the attacks you are under not as hopeless but as hurdles.

The Bible says that if we ask God for wisdom, He will give it to us liberally. That means A LOT! One of the byproducts of not praying while in the battle is that you are trying to figure out how to fight, how to win, in your own mind. You need to put on the mind of Christ, not the mind of man! I can guarantee you that whatever plan God gives you will be better and more effective than anything you come up with.

Knowing that, why do we fight and fight and fight until we are thoroughly frustrated because of the poor decisions we make as the battle is raging on. ASK GOD FOR WISDOM AND HE WILL GIVE IT TO YOU LIBERALLY! When is a good time for wisdom? Well, all the time, but especially when you are fighting the enemy on many different fronts and start to lose sight of what battles you are even fighting. Pray for wisdom and God will give it to you!

I love you and care about you so much. We all fight battles throughout the course of our journey through this life. We all have those wonderful seasons of peace. We also have those intense times when the attacks come from all sides at once. Those are the times when the faith we claim to have must sustain us and guide us to victory. As the battles begin to intensify, stop and crawl into your foxhole for a moment and pray, seek the Lord. Ask Him to give you strength, and courage, and wisdom. Ask Him to be your shield and buckler, your strong tower. Ask Him to fight for you. ASK HIM FOR VICTORY OVER YOUR ENEMIES!!!

The wonderful thing is God has already given us all that we need to fight with. In Ephesians 6 we read these great words, “Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.”

You will notice there is one thing missing in God’s armor. There is nothing for the back. GOD’S ARMY FIGHTS GOING FORWARD! GOD’S ARMY DOES NOT RETREAT! Cowards run, men and women of God stand and fight to victory!!!

I will be praying for you today. For those of you who are in the midst of the battle, facing great attacks on all sides, be of good cheer and know that the Lord is with you. Call on the Lord of hosts to stand and fight for you. Pray without ceasing. If you never prayed much before, now is the time to learn how to pray, and not stop praying!!! I will be praying for the Lord to give you His strength, His wisdom, and His victory over your enemies today. When the dust settles know that you will be standing as a living testimony of your faith in Jesus Christ!!!

In His love and service,

Your friend and brother in Christ,

When God Allows Doors to Shut in Your Life

(Ecclesiastes 3:1-14)

***DAILY PERSONAL PRAYER FOR YOU: Dear Lord, this nation is under your judgment for our sin, wickedness, and rebellion. Help me to be courageous as I stand for you in these perilous times. Use me as a beacon of your light in the darkness of our world today. Though our enemies surround us, the world around me curses you, help me to stand for your Truth that will ultimately defeat the lies of satan. May the evil of this world become so apparent, people will begin to bow their knee to you in repentance knowing YOU are their only hope and only answer! In the name of Jesus…AMEN!!!

When God allows doors to shut in your life. With the economic problems over the past year, we are dealing daily with more and more people who have lost their job and those who are dealing with great financial hardships. We always receive emails for prayer every day from people who need employment, people who need financial needs met. However, what we are dealing with in increasing numbers are people who have lost their job after 5, 10, 20, even 30 years of employment. We are also dealing with people who up until recently have never dealt with economic problems in their own home.

Many of these people we are dealing with each day had their own businesses that had been successful for many years. However, due to the economic problems our nation is currently dealing with, they have had to close their business, or have been operating at a loss for many months now with no idea how they will be able to hold on much longer. Many of these business owners are dealing with the frustration of having to let their employees go, feeling as if they have let them down. If this is not you today, it may be you tomorrow, so please let God speak to your heart through these words today.

Today, I have a very practical word for you, especially those who are out of work, those who are struggling financially, those who are business owners and have either had to shut down or are just barely hanging on. First of all, never forget that the Lord loves you and He knows your pain and He knows your needs. He is with you each step of the way, even though you may feel like He has abandoned you in your darkest hour. That is a lie from the pits of hell. Jesus promised to never leave you nor forsake you. He will see you through these difficult days.

Life is made up of seasons. The older you get, the easier it is to look back on your life and see those clearly defined seasons. You can see them begin and end. Nothing happens in our life that God doesn’t allow to happen. That is often hard to swallow, especially when we are facing hard times. It is interesting that very few people question why God allows the good things to happen to us along our journey through this life, but will always question God when we are faced with difficult circumstances.

Obvsiouly, every person’s situation and circumstances is unique. However, let me give you some counsel today that may help you, especially if you are out of work, if you are dealing with economic hardships, if you have a business that has closed or is just barely getting by. We get comfortable with our life. We get comfortable with our job. We get comfortable in making the money we need to live. We get comfortable with how our life operates. We get used to the way we live. When something changes, we lose that comfort level. Most people don’t like change.

So when we lose our job, or when we can’t pay our bills, or when our business is failing, it turns our life upside down. People instinctively seek the Lord in prayer for their job, for their finances, for their business. That is natural. They pray for God to basically put things back the way they were. This is really critical, so please don’t miss this. When we are faced with major changes in our life, we pray and seek the Lord to fix the problem and want things to be the way they were because nobody really likes change. People pray and try to hang on to things as they used to be.

I want you to know today that often things happen in our life because God is allowing one season to end and a new season to begin. Never forget, He loves you and cares about you. He loves to bless His children and only wants the best for you. He often is allowing one season to end and a new season to begin so He can bless you more than you have ever known. Sadly, most people would rather keep things the way they are since that is what they are comfortable with, when God is trying to change things so He can bless you in a greater way!

When we lose our job, when we are having financial difficulties, when we have a failing business, most people need outside counsel. It is their life and because they are so invested in things the way they are, they can’t see anything else. Often it takes an outside pair of eyes from someone who knows the Lord to give you wise counsel and to help you see other paths that you may not be even thinking about. We are so focused on how we want things done and how we want God to move, we often don’t even see or consider other paths. Having wise counsel from the outside can often help us see that there are options we never even considered, ways to get things done we simply haven’t thought of.

In many cases, it is as simple as God closing the door on a season in your life in order to move you into a new and better season. He may allow you to lose your job so He can give you a better job. He may allow you to suffer financial hardships to help you reorganize the financial side of your life so that you can move forward and as He blesses you, make you a better and wiser steward of what He entrust into your care. He may allow a business it fail so that you can start an even better business or possibly so that God can move you in a totally new direction that in the past was impossible because of your commitment to your business.

I love you and care about you so much. Every day we see people out of work get new jobs. Often they are in different fields. Sometimes they are not as good as their old job in the beginning, but as time goes on, they may offer great opportunities and blessings. Daily we see people struggling financially. God gives them favor and wisdom to make it through their struggles, and as time goes on, they are blessed and become wise stewards over their finances. I am dealing daily with business people who lost one business, but started a better one. I am also dealing with business people who God has moved into other endeavors, some into full time ministry.

What I want you to understand today is that no matter what your situation may be, what your struggle may be, God is there with you every step of the way and is guiding you. He will often allows doors to close so that He can open new and better doors. So my word for you is to fear not, and while change is never comfortable, embrace it. Be excited by it. Life is exciting. It is also very brief. You should experience as much of life as you can, and new challenges, new opportunities, only makes your life that much more complete.

Please know that I will be praying for you today. I will be praying for those who need jobs, for those who have financial needs met, for those business owners to be blessed with new business. I will also be praying for those who are in these situations to seek wise counsel and to be open that God may be closing some doors in your life to open new and better ones. Also, be praying, since God may be allowing things to happen in your life to give you the opportunity to answer His call to full-time service.

As these last days unfold, now more than ever we need men and women who love the Lord to serve Him. God may be allowing things to happen in your life so that you can serve Him full time. Know that as you seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, He will insure that your day to day needs are met. Open your heart to the Lord, to HIS will, to HIS plan, to what HE may want to do with your life. As you do, God will not only meet your every need, but bless you above and beyond all you could ever ask or think. He may not allow your life to be “comfortable,” but I assure you He will always meet your needs and make your life exciting!

The One

(Matthew 18:10-14)

***DAILY PERSONAL PRAYER FOR YOU: Lord, even though we have no right to ask, please continue to watch over this nation. Thank you for showing us the clear signs of destruction our sin and rebellion have heaped upon our land. I pray today that as a nation we will turn back to you and your Truth. Give me strength as days of persecution are upon us, and let me stand proud and strong for you and your Kingdom. In the name of Jesus I pray…AMEN!

A few years ago was a time of great concern for me. God has blessed me with an incredible staff of people that help make Liveprayer possible 24/7/365 for millions all over the world. I am grateful for their loyal service to the Lord. In times of emergency, they have never hesitated to drop what they are doing, leave their families, and work tirelessly to insure Liveprayer is up and running. Very few would ever comprehend the incredible technical feat it is to do all that we do each day with the 24/7 LIVE video prayer feed on our site, not to mention sending over 2.5 million individual emails worldwide. God has given us incredibly gifted people to make it all happen for HIS glory!

One day a few years ago, I realized that out of the approximately 40,000 emails that I received from the previous day, about 26 were accidentally deleted. I called my technical staff to come in immediately, and we spent hours on a Sunday trying to locate the “missing 26.” Now many would ask, “Why be so concerned about 26 emails out of 40,000?” The exact same reason the shepherd who had 100 sheep got so upset when only 99 were rounded up for the evening. ONE WAS MISSING! The shepherd dropped all that he was doing to go out and search for the lost ONE. I stopped all that I was doing early Sunday, had my technical staff come in to try and locate the “missing 26.”

Why? Because the shepherd’s job was to care for 100. He was responsible for ALL 100 sheep. IT WAS HIS JOB AND RESPONSIBILITY TO GO FIND THE LOST ONE! Likewise, God has given me a job to do. It is to provide spiritual guidance to those that God brings into the ministry of Liveprayer. God brings people to this ministry for a Divine purpose and reason . . . NOT by accident. Each person He brings is special to me. I love and care about each one because I know that it is a real person behind that email address, an eternal soul that Jesus Christ gave His very life for. The job that God has given me to do in this season of my life is to be here for those that He brings to Liveprayer with their hurts and pains and needs.

In the scripture today, the shepherd was successful in finding the one that was lost. In the end, we were able to find 24 of the “missing 26”. I am still VERY CONCERNED about the two we could not find! Nothing has grieved me more as those who came to us and we had technical problems that prevented us from responding to them in their time of need. I DO LOVE YOU, AND DO CARE ABOUT YOU MORE THAN YOU WILL EVER KNOW. I take the work God has given me to do very seriously, and want you to never forget that no matter what, I am here for you! YOU are special to God, and you are special to me!

I love you and care about you so much. I will be praying for YOU today. I pray daily for each person that God has brought to Liveprayer. You are NOT just an email address, but an eternal soul Jesus died for so that you could spend eternity with God! While over 2.5 million worldwide get this Devotional each day, you are unique and special to me. I am here for YOU no matter what you are going through, what you are facing in your life. If you were the only person on earth, Jesus would have still died for you! THAT is how special you are to God, and how special you are to me!!!

In His love and service,

Your friend and brother in Christ,

Let Me Share Some Insights with You that I have Found to Be True in My Life

(Romans 7:18, 25, 8:8,13; Galatians 5:17, 6:8; 1 John 2:17)

***DAILY PERSONAL PRAYER FOR YOU: Dear Lord, give me your strength to stand for your Truth no matter what the cost. It is easy to call myself a follower of Jesus, but when confronted, when challenged, when faced with persecution, will I still say I am a follower of Jesus? I love you Lord and ask for your strength so no matter what I have to endure for my faith, I will stand firm. In the name of Jesus I pray…AMEN!

Let me share some insights with you that I have found to be true in my life and I am sure you have found in your own life. It is in our failures that we learn life’s most important lessons and grow. Nobody wants to fail, but the only person who has never failed is someone who has never tried. Failure is part of life. It is something we all have to experience from time to time. The key, however, is how do you respond when you fail? How do you respond when life doesn’t go as you planned?

Winning, losing, succeeding, failing, these are all concepts that we begin to learn as children. Playing games is something all children do, and quickly we learn there are winners and losers. During our childhood we try many things, music, sports, different hobbies. Again, we quickly learn the joy of succeeding in the things we do and that empty feeling when we fail. While it is important to keep winning and success in perspective and learn how to do both with humility, it is even more important to learn how to handle defeat and failure, as well as the lessons they can teach us.

The first lesson in losing, in failing, is to take personal responsibility and not blame other people or anything else. Having spent 31 months of my life in Federal Prison nearly 30 yrs ago, having ministered to tens of thousands of men and women who are incarcerated, I can tell you the biggest problem I see with people in prison is the refusal to take personal responsibility for the choices that put them in prison. Most people you talk to who are in prison will tell you they are there because of what this person or that person said or did. They are not willing to accept responsibility that they are there because of the choices THEY MADE. A person who is in prison will never be able to move forward and turn their life around until they are ready to accept personal responsibility for THEIR choices.

Whenever we lose or fail, it is always easy to sit back and make excuses. Some of those excuses may even be valid. However, rather than investing the time and energy into finding excuses why we lost or failed, it is far more productive to look at the role WE played in our loss or failure. You learn nothing by blaming someone else or making excuses. When you sit down and are honest to look at yourself, at the choices you made that contributed to your loss or failure, then you are able to learn from the mistakes you made and hopefully not repeat them in the future. We can all learn much from our losses and failures in life if we will simply be honest with ourselves and take the time to analyze our thoughts and actions so we can identify what we did wrong.

The second lesson in losing, in failing, is to not let our loss or failure paralyze us from trying again. Some people become so devastated by losing, by failing, that they simply refuse to try again. My friend, losing and failing are part of life. As I said earlier, the only people I have met who have never lost or failed are people who have never tried. You can’t be afraid of losing or failure. Nobody likes to lose. Nobody likes to fail. However, you will never win unless you also lose and you will never succeed unless you also fail. Rather than being paralyzed by losing and failing, let them motivate you. Learn from your losses and failures so that you don’t repeat the mistakes and poor choices you made that led to them. Instead of losing and failing making you weak, they can make you strong.

The third lesson in losing, in failing is this, THERE IS NO FAILURE WITH GOD! In the process of serving the Lord, we will always have times and experiences when we feel in our flesh that we have failed, that we have let the Lord down. That is a lie from the pits of hell! THERE IS NO FAILURE WITH GOD! You can’t fail when you are serving the Lord. The only way you can fail is to NOT serve Him! God uses our obedience and faithfulness in ways we will never see or understand until we get to Glory. The reality is, when we are yielded to the Lord, God uses our lives to do incredible things that we never even realize.

As a matter of fact, I submit that the greatest things you will ever do for God you don’t even know you did them until you get to Heaven. Those are the things you do each day simply by being obedient and faithful . God will give us a little feedback along the way since He knows our flesh is weak and needs encouragement. However, the vast majority of what God does in and through our lives we will never fully comprehend in this life. Don’t forget, our job isn’t to know everything that is going on, it is simply to be obedient and faithful. God can use a willing and yielded vessel!

I love you and care about you so much. Losing and failing are simply part of this life. Things often don’t go as we planned. THAT IS LIFE! How we respond to losing, to failing, when things don’t go as we planned is the key. Never forget, God is on the throne. He doesn’t take naps, or go to the bathroom, or take a break to eat a sandwich. God is on His throne at all times and nothing happens apart from God allowing it to happen. The vast majority of the time we lose or fail is because of the choices we made. God gave us free will, and God allows us to make the choices that lead to our losing or failing. Again, the key is how do we respond when we lose or fail.

Your first response should be prayer. Pray for God to open your heart, give you wisdom, and show you why you lost or failed. Then, you need to pray for God to give you the strength to overcome your disappointment in losing or failing, and help you to move forward. Lastly, you need to seek the Lord to guide you so that you don’t make those same poor choices again. Listen to me carefully. God doesn’t abandon you when you lose or fail. You are not alone. He is there with you each moment, so reach out and allow HIM to comfort you and give you His peace. God is with you in the good times and bad, through victory and defeat, through success and failure.

I will be praying for you today. Praying that God will speak to your heart today through these words. If you have suffered some defeats in your life recently, if you have failed, know that I am here and praying for you. Losing and failing are part of life. Don’t let your defeats or failures keep you from moving forward. Life goes on. Sit down and learn from your losses, learn from your failures, and work to insure you don’t make those mistakes again. Let me share a secret with you today. As long as you know Jesus as your Savior you can never lose or fail and if you don’t know Jesus as your Savior, you can never win or succeed. One more time, say it out loud slowly, “As long as I know Jesus as my Savior I can never lose or fail and if I don’t know Jesus as my Savior, I can never win or succeed!”

My friend, as long as you know Jesus, no matter what may happen, no matter what the setbacks in life you may experience along your journey, no matter what your defeats or your failures may be, you will always win and be successful! YOU ARE ALWAYS A WINNER AND A SUCCESS BECAUSE OF JESUS!!!

In His love and service,

Your friend and brother in Christ,

How the Gospel is Now Seen by CHURCH MEMBERS as a “Controversial Message”

(Matthew 28:19; 1 Corinthians 1:23; 2 Timothy 4:2; 1 Peter 3:15)

***DAILY PERSONAL PRAYER FOR YOU: Dear Lord, help me to stand strong in these difficult days. I know that in the end, YOU…and YOU alone will have the final word. Give me boldness and courage to stand for you as evil abounds. In the name of Jesus I pray..AMEN!!!

How the Gospel is now seen by CHURCH MEMBERS as a “controversial message!” Sadly, we are living in a generation where the vast majority of pastors are gutless and compromised. Faux pastors who support and promote gross sins like homosexuality, abortion, and a social justice agenda created by taking the Bible out of context. Some of these faux pastors are actually proudly engaging in homosexual relations without any repentance! Others clearly aren’t even saved!!!

Some of these compromised pastors have created and packaged man-made marketing strategies like purpose driven/seeker/emerging church/prosperity gospel designed to put warm bodies in their mini-stadiums instead of converts. To keep them coming back each Sunday, they stay away from talking about things like sin, the eternal hell fire and damnation that awaits those who reject faith in Jesus, and anything else that would upset people. Instead, they entertain the people and give them a nice motivational message so they drop a check in the bucket when it comes by!

The end result is a generation of weak, ineffective, and Biblically illiterate people who go to church, many who have never even made a decision to accept Jesus by faith. Because they have never been correctly taught that the Bible is the only Truth there is, they are sponges for the lies and false doctrines of the cults, false religions, and New Age gurus. Most quickly embrace the love of God, the mercy of God, the forgiveness of God, yet dismiss that God is also a God of judgment and punishment and won’t be mocked.

Sadly, one of the lies so many who sit in Christian churches embrace, is the universalistic lie from hell that if people are “good” and “do their best,” they will make it to Heaven. They have bought into the “works based” teachings most cults, false religions, and New Agers promote. They have never been correctly taught the most important decision each person has to make is whether to accept Jesus into their heart and life by faith or not. Subsequently, they don’t put the same emphasis on the eternal souls of men, even though Jesus died for each one and God says it is His desire that NONE be lost!

Because souls are not a priority to most, because most have never been taught the importance of sharing their faith which is a COMMANDMENT from our Lord and not an option, most are reluctant to share the Gospel with another person. Adding to that reluctance is this lie that people will be offended by those who “push their faith” on others. The fact is, people should be offended if someone DOESN’T share the Gospel, since it is the message that determines the eternal destiny of your soul!!!

Let me ask you a question. If we, those who know Jesus don’t tell someone how to be saved, who will? The media? LOL! Seriously, how is someone supposed to even have the option to find everlasting life unless someone who is saved gives them that opportunity? It is hard to blame the people, since the vast majority of churches don’t even give people an invitation to accept Jesus by faith!

It sickens me that the minions of satan are so bold with his lies designed to destroy people’s lives and insure they die and end up in hell, yet the followers of Jesus are so timid with the truth, having the words of everlasting life to save men’s souls but choosing to remain silent. I guess it boils down to the fact satan’s followers truly believe in his agenda, whereas the followers of Christ really don’t believe what they claim to, since if you believe it you will live it and shout it from the mountaintops!!!

I am in NO WAY diminishing “good works.” Good works SHOULD flow from a life that has been redeemed. However, lots of people do good works. The mafia does some good works in their neighborhoods. It is a hallmark of cults like Mormonism and most of the New Age teachings. Sadly these people believe it will help them achieve eternal life. How about this for a novel idea, do good works AND share the Gospel!

The fact is God allows people to cross your path every day who are lost and without Christ. It is YOUR JOB AND RESPONSIBILITY to share Christ’s love with them. In the end, it is up to that person to either accept or reject the offer to accept Jesus, but it is YOUR JOB to share that offer with them!

Sharing your faith with others is like praying. There is only one wrong way to do it and that is not to do it! Over the years there have been thousands of books and tapes produced on witnessing, one evangelism program after another created, and the fact is they are ALL great. You can never learn too much about how to witness to others, how to share your faith. The reality is there is no one way to do it, but many different approaches. In the end, however, they all lead a person to the eternal choice they must make about Jesus.

You have to remember that each person who shares their faith is unique and different in how God has wired them, each person you witness to is unique and different in how God has wired them, and the circumstances and dynamics each time you share your faith are also unique and different. That is why today I wanted to take some time to share with you a simple way to witness and lead someone to faith in Jesus Christ.

The number one reason people don’t share their faith more often, and sadly in the case of most Christians who fail to do it at all, is fear. The biggest fear is the fear of rejection. Witnessing has many similarities to sales which is why you find people who are most proficient at witnessing are usually great sales people. In the world of sales the first thing you learn about is rejection. A good salesperson is able to hear 99 people say no and go into that 100th sales presentation just like it was the first.

That is not easy to do and why it is a gift to be a great salesperson. Even if you are not a natural salesperson, the key is to never forget that if someone says no when you share with them how they can be saved, it is not you but Jesus they are rejecting. Just like a good salesperson never takes it personally when someone turns them down, you can’t ever take it personally when someone you ask to commit their life to Christ says no. Again, they are saying no to Jesus, not you.

Also, the key to being a good salesperson is being a good closer. You will never get the sale if you don’t ask for it, and you will never see someone come to Christ if you don’t ask them to. The basic rule of Sales 101 is ABC or, Always Be Closing. The basic rule to Evangelism 101 is asking the person you are witnessing to if they would like to know Jesus as their personal Savior. At the end of a sales presentation you have to ask the person for the sale, and at the end of sharing the Gospel you have to ask the person to accept the Lord.

Another fear so many people have is being asked questions they can’t answer. You don’t have to be a theologian to tell people about Jesus. If they ask you a question you don’t know the answer to, simply tell them you don’t know but will find out. Contact your pastor or your Sunday School teacher or someone at your church for the answer. This is why the more we read and study God’s Word for ourselves the more confidence we will have when we are confronted with different questions.

However, never forget that most people asking questions are not really interested in the answer as they are in trying to justify their own unbelief. Most ask questions as a way of proving that we are “wrong” and they are “right.” People who reject God’s Word and the love of Christ in their life, will use questions there may not even be an answer to, to feel better about their choice to reject the Lord. That is why I will answer their questions, but immediately put the focus back on them and the choice they have to make regarding accepting Jesus in their heart.

The other great fear people have about sharing their faith is offending the person you are talking to about the Lord and what ramifications there may be to them personally. So rather than offend someone, rather than deal with whatever persecution there might be, they simply say nothing. Listen, it is better you offend someone with the hopes of them coming to know the Lord than sitting back and saying nothing, while they die in their sins and are lost for all eternity.

It is better someone calls you “Bible thumper,” “stupid for believing the Bible,” “intolerant,” “hateful,” “no different than the Taliban,” or whatever else they may say to you to try and intimidate you into being silent, than saying nothing knowing they will die one day and spend eternity in hell. The fact is the Gospel IS offensive to those who reject it, but it is the words of everlasting life to those who choose to believe.

I love you and care about you so much. The bottom line is that God has commanded us, not suggested to us, that we share our faith in Christ with others. This is not a commandment to just pastors or evangelists, but to EVERYONE who knows Christ as their Lord and Savior. If you really love someone, how can you let them die, knowing that without Christ they will be lost for all eternity, without telling them about Jesus?

I will be praying for you today, praying that you won’t allow fear to keep you from being obedient to God and telling others about Jesus. The easiest and most natural way to approach someone about faith in Christ is by simply sharing what Jesus has done and meant in your life. There is no way to deny what you have personally experienced in your relationship with the Lord.

Today, I rebuke that spirit of fear of rejection, I rebuke that spirit of fear of questions you can’t answer, I rebuke that spirit of fear of offending someone by telling them about Jesus, I rebuke that spirit of fear of being persecuted for sharing the Gospel. I pray that God will give you a spirit of BOLDNESS and COURAGE as you tell others about how they too can know Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior!

I take a very direct approach to witnessing. I look the person in the eye and ask them if they believe they will die one day. Of course they say yes. I then ask them if they believe they have ever sinned. Again, they will say yes. I tell them that they are right, they have sinned and they will die one day. I remind them that the Bible says tomorrow is promised to none of us and that each day is literally a gift from God.

I go on by telling them that it is their sin that is separating them from a Holy God who loves them so much and desires for them to spend all eternity with Him. I tell them that is only possible because of what Jesus did. He willingly died on the cross for our sins and that is why if you will confess Him as your Savior, ask Him into your heart and life by faith, HE will forgive you of your sins and you are guaranteed to spend eternity with God your Creator when this brief life is over.

I share with them that this choice not only has eternal ramifications, but means something to them right now. Those who know Jesus as their Savior have the power of God residing within them, and can know the peace, the joy, and the abundance of this life that is impossible without Christ. Additionally, they can see the plan and purpose God has for them fulfilled during their brief journey here on earth.

At that point I simply ask them if they would like to know Jesus as their personal Savior. If they say no, I tell them that I will be praying for them and that they need to spend some time alone with God and pray about what I told them. I remind them that God loves them and He is there when they are ready. If they say yes, I spend a few moments to make sure they know that what they are doing is literally giving their very life to Christ. He gave His life for them, and they are now giving their life back to Him.

The key for you to remember is that this is a personal decision each person has to make for themselves. Nobody can make it for them, you can’t force them, or intimidate them, or scare them into making it. It has to be a conscious choice that they make. When they are ready, I simply have them pray with me what is commonly called the “Sinner’s Prayer.” This prayer does not exist in the Bible, though it is taken largely from Romans Chapter 10. These words don’t save anyone but are simply a verbal guide for what they are doing BY FAITH in their heart.

“God, I am a sinner. I ask you to forgive me of my sins. I believe in my heart, and confess with my lips, that Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior. Come into my heart Jesus. Take my life, I surrender it to you. From this moment on, I will live my life according to the Bible and serve you. Thank you for taking away my sins and giving me everlasting life. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen”

Broken Relationships

(1 Thessalonians 3:12)

***DAILY PERSONAL PRAYER FOR YOU: Dear Lord, I have strayed from you and want to come home. I have allowed the daily life in this world to lead me astray, to allow me to drift from you, and I miss you dear Lord! Today, I recommit my heart and life to you and to serve you. Use me for your glory Lord. Make my life count for your Kingdom. Above all, bring to me your PEACE and JOY! Give me the joy of my salvation again as I walk close to you each moment of each day. In Jesus name I pray…AMEN!

Broken relationships. One of the common prayer requests I see daily are requests for God to reconcile family members whose relationships have been broken for a myriad of reasons. One of the tests of our spiritual maturity is the ability to forgive, pray for, and love someone who has wronged us. It is especially difficult when that someone is part of our family.

Regardless of who is at fault, who is wrong, the circumstances involved, my challenge to you today is to make an attempt to reconcile with someone in your family that you may not currently have a relationship with. I realize in many cases this is going to be a very difficult task, but it is what God wants you to do, and He will give you the strength and courage to make the effort.

Let me say up front, you are not responsible for the actions of anyone else, only your own. You cannot force a relationship with someone who refuses to accept you. But you can, and God requires you, to make the effort. At that point, it is in His hands. He is the one who has to move on the other person’s heart. Much like in witnessing, you can never force someone to get saved. But God requires you to give them the opportunity, and after that, it is up to the power of the Holy Spirit to move on that person’s heart.

It is important to note here that God does NOT expect you to be abused or mistreated in any way. I am aware that the person you are estranged from may have hurt you deeply in the past. God is still calling for you to forgive that person, but unless they are repentant, sadly, you may simply not be able to have any personal contact with that person until they are. Again, God can give you the strength to forgive them, He calls you to pray for them, but He is NOT asking you to have any contact with them if they are simply going to abuse you in some way.

I am not going to elaborate very much today, because the challenge God has for you is very simple, very straightforward. God is asking you to make the effort to reconcile with someone that you are not on good terms with. Forget the reasons that you are fighting, forget what has happened in the past, make the effort in Christ-like love. At that point, you have done what God has asked you to do, and it is then up to the other person to respond.

I know this is not easy and in many cases will be very painful. I will be praying for you. I will be praying for His strength, words, and love to be with you in a way like you never have known before. God is love. It is His desire to see His children love one another. Honor God today and obey His voice by making the effort to reconcile your relationship with those family members you are separated from!

I love you and care about you so much. I will be praying today specifically for you to heed this challenge and to be obedient to God’s voice. I want to see you be all God has raised you up to be. One way you can do that, is by doing those things in life, even the painful things, that you know God expects you to do. You will be surprised how much can be accomplished just by making the effort.

The problems won’t immediately disappear, they won’t wipe away years of pain, but God is able to heal and restore relationships. God is a God of reconciliation and restoration! That is His desire for you today!

In His love and service,
