One of the Great Gifts God Gives Us in this Lifetime is Friends

(Ecclesiastes 4:9,10)

***ASK BILL: I am saved, and I know that I know I am going to Heaven when God says it is time. However, what is this intimate walk with God, and what is this relationship concept?

ANSWER: The intimate walk with God is our daily relationship with the Lord. That happens through reading the Word, praying, and simply fellowshipping with the Lord throughout the day. Our relationship with the Lord is like any other. The more time we invest in that relationship, the stronger it gets, the more special it becomes. If we truly love the Lord, we desire to simply be with Him like we desire to be with anyone else we love in this life.

One of the great gifts God gives us in this life is friends, those who we share this journey with. God never intended for us to walk alone. He will always bring people into our life to stand with us, be there for us in our time of need, and give us the opportunity to serve Him by being there for them as well.

I never consider it an accident that for this season of our lives, God has brought us together, and as my friend, let me do something a little different today and share with you some thoughts I have jotted down. As my friend, you can stand with me in prayer over these issues. There is no real order to these thoughts, they are just random, and something I wanted to share with you since you are my friend.

. . . in 32 days Liveprayer will be 13 years old. I have to admit it has been the most challenging 13 years of my life. As you may know from my testimony, I have been through much in my life, but this has by far been the most challenging to my faith in every way possible . . . bringing God’s Truth to a world that for the most part rejects that Truth and is hostile towards anyone who dares share what the Bible teaches…

. . . I fight daily to stay focused on the Lord, and the personal relationship I have with Him. I never forget that whatever else I do in my life flows from that relationship . . . what I share with you each day is a result of my daily walk with the Lord . . .

. . . I have been tempted many times in the past 13 years to give up on This thought was straight from the pits of hell itself. The Holy Spirit constantly reminds me that it is not my choice. This is what God has called me to do and my life belongs to Him . . . I serve Him to the best of my ability each day with great joy!!!

. . . My heart breaks each day as I read the mail coming into this ministry. The pain, the heartache, the incredible challenges so many face. It makes me more determined than ever to expand the outreach of to be that beacon of light in the darkness of this world, to help those who are hurting and without hope . . .

. . . While the challenges from month to month have been incredible, the rewards have been equally incredible! The salvation reports from 600,000 we know of who have accepted the Lord since we began, the 6 million praise reports archived are so encouraging and a testimony to the awesome power and love of God for His children . . .

. . . I never forget that “without Him I can do nothing” . . .

. . . I look forward to waking up each morning. While the challenges and pressures are great, my daily interaction with you, my friends, make my life so complete. I never take for granted the wonderful opportunity God has given me to minister to you and try to stand with you during those difficult times in your life . . .

Even though it is hard to express at times, never forget that I really do LOVE YOU, and CARE FOR YOU very much! YOU make possible all that I am able to do each day for over one million people worldwide. It is YOUR prayers, YOUR love, YOUR support that makes it all possible.

I pray for you daily, and am always here any time that you need me. NEVER hesitate to email me at anytime that I can help you, or simply stand in prayer for you. You are a friend, and a friend is a special gift from God.

***JULY FINANCIAL UPDATE: As we head into the final day of the month, we are still $32,000 short of covering our basic operations budget. Each sacrificing what they are led and able to give to help us meet our needs. Please take a moment today and pray about what God is asking you to do to help me insure we end this month with all of our operations taken care of as we head into our 13th anniversary month. Taking a Stand for the Lost in Great Britain and Europe

(James 4:17, 1:22)

***ASK BILL: I am 30 years old and having trouble meeting decent men to date. Family and friends are pressuring me to try eharmony and match, but I just don’t like the idea of talking to strangers on a computer. Do you think online dating is appropriate and I am acting too old fashioned?

ANSWER: I am NO FAN of online dating, since daily we deal with the horrible outcomes that plague this anonymous way of meeting people. I rank it as low as looking for a spouse in a bar. I will concede, if used properly, TO WEED PEOPLE OUT, it can be a resourceful tool to cut down the time it takes to find someone of intrest, IF THAT OTHER PERSON IS TELLING THE TRUTH. That my friend is a big IF! Here is a Devotional to help you. My word for anyone involved in online dating, BE EXTRA CAREFUL AND USE YOUR COMMON SENSE. If a person is too good to be true, they probably are!

“Anyone, then, who knows the good he ought to do and doesn’t do it, sins.” James 4:17

Taking a stand for the lost in Great Britain and in Europe. With the spotlight of the world shining on London as they host the Summer Olympics, I am reminded of great men of the faith who brought their God-given talents and gifts to the United States to help lay the foundation of faith here we enjoy today. George Whitfield, EM Bounds, the Wesley brothers, on and on the list goes of great men of God born in England who came to the US to preach and build the Christian church here.

Sadly, Europe in 2012 is spiritually dark. They have replaced Biblical truth with a philosophy of human secularism. For most in the United States who know Jesus as their Savior, going to church is nothing special, some even view it as a great sacrifice. In Europe, most churches are empty or sparsely attended. They are being closed because there are no congregants. Generations have lived and died rejecting God’s Truth and the Gospel!

*Europe is critical since it is a foreshadow of how the church in the United States will look in the next generation if we don’t turn back to God and His Truth!!!

James 4:17 is often referred to in theological circles as the sin of omission. The fact is, it is the sin most Christians commit each and every day. It is just as much of a sin in God’s eyes as a sin of commission such as adultery, murder, or any other sin. To not do the good we know we ought to, is just as much a sin as any sinful act we might commit. We simply don’t have the luxury of sitting back and watching unrighteousness and not speak out.

We were first introduced to Saul of Tarsus in Acts Chapter 7 as he was committing the sin of omission, giving his approval to the stoning of Stephen as he held the coats of those who were stoning him to death. Even though he didn’t hurl one rock, he was as guilty as those who did by his silence as they killed an innocent man.

I have never been what someone would call a Christian activist. I appreciate those who are led to work in this area, but I have always taken the approach that true change is made one heart at a time. We can’t eliminate pornography from the Internet, but we can change the hearts of those who look at it. We will never win the mythical drug war by locking people up, seizing shipments of drugs, or burning the fields they are grown in. We win by changing the heart of the person who is using drugs. The way to ultimately stop abortion is by changing the hearts of the women who make the decision to kill their baby. So my approach has always been to attack the root of the problem, sin, and help people find a new life in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. However, I cannot sit back and watch things go on around me that are just absolutely wrong and keep silent.

So many Christians are content to sit on the sidelines, listening, watching, experiencing the fullness of the Christian life vicariously through others. One of the popular Christian magazines each month has become little more than an advertising vehicle for this Holy Ghost Conference, that Camp meeting of the Millennium, the annual Partners Only Crusade, Women’s meetings, Men’s meetings, and on, and on, and on. The point I want to make is that the people of God have gotten very fat and lazy with all of the Christian celebrities and the Christian entertainment that our culture has produced. Too many of God’s people have become lazy and more comfortable sitting on the sidelines watching, which was never God’s plan.

I am a big believer in education and listening to God’s anointed teachers of the Word to learn all we can. But while we are hearing the Word, we, also, must be DOING THE WORD! All of the commands in the Gospels, the Book of Acts, Paul’s letters, and the other New Testament writings were to be active participants in our faith-helping others, witnessing, teaching new believers. God gives spiritual gifts to His people to be active DOERS of the Word, not idle bystanders. He has given each one of His children gifts and abilities to help advance the Kingdom of God. Jesus taught in many parables that it is a sin to not utilize the gifts God has given you. I want to make sure you clearly understand today, that it is a sin to not use the gifts and talents God has blessed you with to serve Him.

That does not mean you have to quit your job and become a missionary to a third-world country, or sell everything to start a ministry. God may call you to do that. However, for most of His children, He has called you to serve Him exactly where you are today. It is no accident you live where you live, go to school where you do, work where you do, or recreate and shop where you do. God has placed you there strategically to be a light to others. The most effective way we can serve God is in our normal day-to-day life. Letting our Godly lifestyle be a living testimony to those we come in contact with. Helping those around us in a time of need. Getting involved in projects and ministries through our local church.

I love you and care about you so much. Please pray today for the Lord to bless our brothers and sisters in Christ living in Europe. Pray for those who boldly take the Gospel to those nations each day, literally. I will be praying for you today, that these words will cause you to stop and reflect on your life. Ask yourself if you are on the sidelines or are actively living the Christian life God has called you to live. Are you using your gifts and talents for Him? Take inventory today of whether you are not only hearing the Word, but DOING the Word. I want to see you be all you can be and all God has called you to be for Him.

Remember, our greatest and most effective service is rarely those big things we may be involved in for the Kingdom, but the quiet, one-on-one ministry to someone who is hurting and looking for hope. Everyone who knows Christ can tell someone that Jesus loves them. Everyone that knows Christ can testify to what Jesus has meant in their life. Everyone who knows Christ can share the love and hope we have in Him with someone. Become a DOER of the Word and don’t be guilty of the sin of omission!

In His love and service,
Your friend and brother in Christ,

Bill Keller

Do You Run from Sin or Run to Sin

(Genesis 39:12; 1 Peter 2:11)

ANSWER: Sadly, this is the description of the majority of pastors today. It talks about their worship of idols and forsaking their flocks. The Bible says those who are called to lead His sheep will receive a double judgment. It is a stark contrast to John 10, and the description of the Good Shepherd. Is it any wonder why the sheep are weak, ineffective, and sitting targets for satan’s schemes when the shepherds don’t do their job?

This may seem like an easy question, but think carefully before you answer. Do you run away from sin, or do you run TO sin? If you answer honestly, you will have to admit that there have been times in your life when you were guilty of running towards sin, or at least NOT running away when you saw sin coming.

I have spoke in past Devotionals about the path of escape that God not only always provides, but promises! There is that instant, when your spiritual instincts are telling you exactly what to do. That my friend becomes YOUR moment of truth. Will you obey God and run away from sin? Or, do you ignore God and run to it, like the moth goes directly for the fire!

In today’s scripture, Joseph saw sin coming. Realizing his own human weakness, he literally ran from it. THERE IS NOTHING COWARDLY ABOUT RUNNING FROM SIN! Let me say this again. THERE IS NOTHING COWARDLY ABOUT RUNNING FROM SIN!

As a matter of fact, it is an act of weakness and rebellion to God to NOT run from sin. It is like saying, “OK sin, here I am, powerless to stand up to you — just run me over.” Anyone can do that. It takes spiritual maturity to see sin coming and flee from it. The Bible even tells us to “flee from sin.” It is an admonition that we need to take more seriously.

The question becomes, why don’t we run from sin? There are two answers to this. It is because we either, a) don’t trust our spiritual instincts enough to “see” sin coming, or, b) we simply love the sin more than the Lord at that moment. That may sound harsh, but it is very true. Jesus told His disciples that if they loved Him, they would obey His commandments. As His disciples, we ultimately get the opportunity to show our love for Him often. It is usually in those cases when we have the opportunity to run from sin, or stay and indulge in it.

Remember the next time that you want to tell Jesus you love Him. Show Him by following His commandments. Show Him by RUNNING FROM SIN!

I love you and care about you very much. I realize that many of you are in difficult situations today because you have succumbed to sin’s temptations, you stayed instead of running. Running is hard. It actually requires a supernatural strength that we only possess through Christ.

Again, that is why that intimate daily relationship with Him is so critical to our daily walk. It not only strengthens us, but sharpens our spiritual instincts so we can see sin coming and run from it. I will be praying for you to really let these words today sink in.

For many, these are very difficult words, but necessary. They are said in love, to help you avoid falling into the traps the enemy sets for you. Let me leave you with this encouragement. God BLESSES obedience. Not only is it our most effective way of proving our love for the Lord, but a side benefit is God blesses our obedience.

I am convinced that Joseph reaped the blessings of God for His obedience. What God did for Joseph, He will do for you. He gave Joseph the spiritual instincts to see sin coming, the strength to run from sin, and than blessed him for his obedience! Remember that the next time you see sin coming . . . and RUN!!!

In His love and service,
Your friend and brother in Christ,

Bill Keller

God has Called Us to Live Above the Standards of This World

(1 Chronicles 29:5; Proverbs 23:26; Romans 12:1)

***ASK BILL: In 1 Timothy 3:9 it says, “Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience. What is “the mystery of the faith?”

ANSWER: The word translated deep truths is one of Paul’s favorite words to describe the gospel, literally meaning ‘mystery’ (1 Cor. 2:7; 4:1; Eph. 3:3-9. It refers to the essential truth of the Gospel, especially the saving character of Christ’s death, which was once hidden (in God) but now revealed by the Spirit.

You see my friend, God gave us free will to make choices. He decided NOT to make us simply robots who would love Him, serve Him, obey Him, but make that an act we choose to do on our own, out of our love for Him. It was this free will that God gave us that allowed satan and 1/3 of the angles to rebel against God. It was this free will that God gave us that allowed Adam and Eve to sin in the Garden of Eden. It is this free will that God gave you and me that allows us to make decisions throughout the day to obey, or rebel against God.

The problem with free will is that it allows us to ignore the Absolute Truth God gave us in His Word. It allows us to ignore the black and white reality of right and wrong. The Bible in places refers to how we are left to our “own imaginations.” Those who choose to reject God’s Word and the absolute truth it represents, basically decide themselves what is right and what is wrong. That is fine, but since we all have free will, what is right to you may be wrong to someone else. And what is wrong to someone else may be right to you. Do you see the chaos this creates?

Unless there is a standard, unless there is a guide, what is right and wrong becomes something each person decides for themselves. That is one reason God gave us His Word so that we would have the black and white of ABSOLUTE TRUTH to guide us in our journey.

The issue that I want to deal with today, is that as Christians, as believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, we have been called to a higher standard of living. When I deal with issues like sex, alcohol, forgiveness, serving others, so many just don’t realize that as Christians we have been called to live a higher standard of life. Those great heroes of faith recorded in Hebrews chapter 11 understood that we are NOT citizens of this country, but of another country!

While for this season we are in this world, we are no longer OF this world once we commit our hearts and lives to Jesus Christ. I am in no way saying we are to separate ourselves from this culture we live in. Quite the opposite. Jesus said we were to be the “salt of the earth,” the “light of the world.” However, we must never forget that as believers we are called to a higher standard of living.

Many scoff at the Biblical example Christ set when He said if we lust in our heart we have already sinned. My friends, yes, the sex drive, hormones, emotions are all very normal. But God created us above the animals. We are not to be slaves to our natural drives, but to be in control of them. God has given us the power over our flesh, over our natural, carnal desires. To deny this is to deny the power of God that resides within you.

We can love others. Not in our own strength, but in the strength God gives us. We can forgive those who treat us wrong. Not in our own strength, but in the strength God gives us. We are here to serve others, not to be served as the world would like us to believe. We can not do that not in our own strength, but in the strength God gives us. You see my friend, as a follower of Christ, as a Christian, we have not only been called to a higher way of living, but given the power to do it!!!!

The fact is, when we surrender ourselves to live a higher life, a life God has called us to, we are blessed above and beyond all we could ever imagine. Not always in earthly blessings but in REAL blessings. Peace, contentment, joy. I promise you, I know people right now, with all the resources this world can offer, who would give a million dollars for just an hour’s worth of peace, an hour’s worth of real joy. You can’t buy these things. They are not for sale. And they only come from living a life God has called His children to live.

So many are afraid of “missing out”. The only thing you gain from rebelling against God is some temporary pleasure, that always leaves you wanting more. Temporary happiness, that turns quickly to pain. You sell out the real things of God, for the momentary gratification of this world that quickly turns into dark despair. Blessings follow our obedience to God, pain and heartache ALWAYS follow rebellion.

I love you and care so much for you. One of my goals each day is to help you live the high calling God has called each of us to. We must never forget that we are different. We are special. Our personal relationship with Christ is what makes us special. It is something the lost of this world can not comprehend. Because of His love for us, because of that special relationship, we have been called to live a higher life during our brief journey here. We must never forget that it is NOT our life, but our life belongs to Him.

We are called to die to self daily so that HE may live through us. This is a daily process that we all must go through. But it is because of this daily process of dying to self so that Christ can live through us that we can live the higher life He has called us to live. We don’t have to be like the lost of the world, but we can set the example for them. We don’t have to give in to the lusts and carnal pleasures that only destroy peoples lives, but live above them and enjoy the real blessings of God’s peace, love, happiness, and joy.

Please know that I will be praying for you today. Praying that you will take these words seriously. Realize today, maybe for the first time how special you are to the Lord. Realize today, maybe for the first time that as Christians we are called to live a higher life than the lost around us. It is in living this higher life that the hurting, the hopeless, the lost of this world will ask us what is so different between our life and theirs. It is then that we can share with them the hope and love we have in Christ Jesus. As followers of Christ, we are called to a higher standard of living. Let us live for Him each day and proclaim to this world through our very lives that He is the way, the truth, and the life!!!!!

Applying God’s Word to Your Daily Life

(1 Corinthians 10:11; Isaiah 40:8; 1 Peter 2:2; Psalms 119:105)

***ASK BILL: Pastor Bill, after reading your Devotional about Mormonism, I am concerned and have been concerned about both Democratic and Republican candidates. So we are to vote for a Muslim or a Mormon? How is a born-again Christian to vote?

ANSWER: “When faced with a choice of two evils choose neither.” Charles Spurgeon AMEN!!!!!!

God’s Truth! What is in the news today? When you open the newspaper, or check your online news sources, several things stand out. Christianity is under attack! Nothing has changed over the past decade, in fact, they have gotten worse. Don’t believe me? Just look at what we are dealing with today.

Chick-fil-A, that I wrote about along with the Boy Scouts of America on Monday, is under attack because of their stance on God’s Holy Institution of Marriage. They oppose same-sex marriage, so they are being attacked. In that same vein, the Muppets, yes, the Muppets, created by Jim Henson are now involved as pawns to support gay marriage!

As I told you a month ago, some hotels in the UK and here in the US are replacing Bibles with the pornographic “50 Shades of Grey.” You don’t even need to watch the porn on the TV’s in hotels now, just read the books they provide you with their room!

On the positive front, the grandson of science fiction writer and founder of the Scientology cult is speaking out against this cult. Praise God for such courage, as he denounces his great grandfather as little more than a charlatan and tool of satan leading souls to hell with his heresy!

As I shared yesterday, Ravi Zacharias, Franklin Graham, and David Jeremiah got so much heat (mostly from Liveprayer family members), that they have now dropped out of being part of satanic cult member Glenn Beck’s weekend in Dallas of mocking God and Jesus. It is sad that we now have to applaud men of God for NOT being part of making a mockery of God and the Lord, but sadly that is where we are at. For the record, Pat Gray, friend, radio co-host, and a high priest in the Mormon cult who led Beck into that perversion, emailed me last weekend upset that I was exposing his boss and the true beliefs of their cult.

On that same subject, it is funny that the gutless Joel Osteen did a special interview with Beck’s Mormon propaganda service “The Blaze,” and defended himself from the critics like myself and others who have blasted him for being nothing more than a cotton candy, prosperity/motivational preacher. In his typical wimpy verbiage, he said he doesn’t like upsetting people. Really? Jesus Himself said the Gospel would be offensive. Men and women over the last 2,000 years have DIED for the Gospel. At the end of the day, Osteen only cares about himself and being ‘liked’ by the masses who buy his books and help in to take in millions!

Don’t forget, it was Osteen, who without hesitation said Beck’s cult brother Mitt Romney was a Christian because Romeny said he was. LOL!!! My friend, there is only ONE source of Truth, and that is God’s Word. NOTHING ELSE! It is not what you want Truth to be, or what I want Truth to be, but what God says Truth is!!!!!

I love you and care about you so much.. I hope these examples help you see how the Word of God is not irrelevant to our lives each day, but very RELEVANT! The fact is, God’s Word doesn’t just apply to all of the events that happen in our world each day, it also applies to all the events that happen in YOUR LIFE each day! Everything that happens in your life can be looked at through the filter of God’s Word. Everything that happens in your life each day MUST be looked at through the filter of God’s Word!

That is my word for you today. You have got to start putting your life in the context of God’s Word. You see, it is the Bible that is our guide through life. The Bible is the only Truth there is. That is why it is imperative to look at everything going on in your life each day through the lens of God’s Word. It is His Word that guides us in the decisions that we have to make throughout our journey through this life. It is His Word that helps us to know the mind of God on any of the issues that we face. That is why it is co critical to be in the Word of God each day, reading and studying what God says so we know how respond and act no matter what life throws our way.

I will be praying for you today. Praying that God will open your heart today to hear this important word for your life. Start applying God’s Word to the events you see unfolding each day throughout our world, and most important, start applying God’s Word to the events you see each day in your very life.

In His love and service,

Your friend and brother in Christ,

Bill Keller

The Keys to Being a Mighty Man or Woman of Faith

(Joshua 6:1-20)

***ASK BILL: Pastor Bill, you have obviously heard of the Tom Cruise/Katie Holmes breakup. Katie Holmes has stated that one of the reasons for the breakup is due to Tom Cruise’s belief in Scientology. What exactly is this?

ANSWER: Here is a link to a Devotional I did on the cult of Scientology:

***A REFRESHING UPDATE TO WEDNESDAY’S DEVOTIONAL ON A FEW MEN OF GOD WHO DECIDED THEY WOULD NOT BE BOUGHT AND PAID FOR BY MORMON CULT MEMBER GLENN BECK!!! PRAISE GOD!!! It is actually sad when men of God take a stand for the faith, but it only goes to show how far from God we are, and how those we consider “leaders” have let us down, opting for their own kingdoms over God’s! So many in the Liveprayer family flooded these ministries yesterday, I have no doubt that is what caused several to back out of cult member Beck’s event this weekend. Great job holding them accountable!!!

>From the office of Dr. Ravi Zacharias, “Now, after reviewing this line-up, and after a great struggle, Ravi has decided to pull his name out of appearing in person for this event and will substitute a short video, as is being done by Franklin Graham and David Jeremiah. The nation is in deep need. But at the same time we cannot send conflicting signals. That is the reason Ravi has withdrawn from a personal appearance and asked for the understanding of the organizers This has been a very hard decision knowing the disappointment of the inviting body.”

I have always loved the Biblical account of how Joshua and the children of Israel destroyed the city of Jericho. I love reading this passage of Scripture because it is the personification of the walk of faith we have been called to make during our journey through this life. The city of Jericho was taken because the man God raised up to lead His people, Joshua, was in an intimate relationship with Him so he was able to HEAR God talking to him, he had the faith to BELIEVE what God said to him, and he had the courage to ACT on exactly what God told him to do.

If you will simply read and meditate on the first 20 verses in Joshua Chapter 6, you will know everything you need to know about being a mighty man or woman of faith. These 20 verses give us the blueprint to how we can do great things for God today. You might say, but I’m not Joshua, I’m nobody special. Listen, what made Joshua special was the fact he loved God. He honored God with his life. He had a close, intimate relationship with God. He believed God. He had the faith to act on his belief in God.

That is what made Joshua and many of the men and women you read about in the Bible special. They were born just like you and I, they died just like you and I will, they were flesh and blood with human weaknesses just like you and I. What made them special was their relationship with God. What makes you special is your relationship with Jesus!!!

Let’s look at how the city of Jericho was taken by the children of Israel. Joshua was the leader of God’s people. Never forget that he was a mighty man of war. His business was war. He was God’s man to drive out the heathen from the Promised Land. The city of Jericho was going to be a big problem since the key feature to the city was its high, impenetrable walls. The children of Israel had a real dilemma since there was no way to take the city unless they could come up with a plan to take down those walls.

I have no doubt that Joshua gathered the best demolition experts from the children of Israel and sought their expertise on how to take down the massive walls of Jericho. As a military man, I am sure he gathered his top military advisors and discussed all the various plans on how they could get the walls down and take the city. I can envision in Joshua’s war room, he had put together several plans for the destruction of Jericho.

It was about this time that God spoke to Joshua. I hear people all the time say, “How do you know it was God,” or, “Why would God speak to you?” or, “God doesn’t speak to men any longer.” First, you know it is God because you learn how to recognize His voice. That doesn’t happen overnight, but over time. We have a huge advantage over men like Joshua since we have His Word and God will never tell us something in contradiction to His Word. The more you listen to God, the better you become at hearing His voice.

Second, why would God speak to you? The fact is God speaks to ALL of His children. The issue isn’t whether God speaks to us, the issue is do we pay attention when He does. When you come to know Christ as your Savior by faith, you enter into this close, intimate, personal relationship with Him. Like in any relationship, you talk to Him and He talks to you. People who are in a relationship talk to each other. So of course God speaks to you if you are in a relationship with Him.

Third, where in God’s Word does it say He no longer speaks to men? That is sheer foolishness to believe such a lie. Again, God has been speaking to His children since Adam. There is NOTHING in God’s Word to remotely suggest that the same God who spoke to Abraham, to Joshua, and to Paul, doesn’t still speak to His children today. NOTHING! Again, if you aren’t hearing God speaking to you, you simply aren’t listening! Because Joshua was in this intimate, close, personal relationship with the God of Abraham, he was able to HEAR God speaking to him.

God is a God of specifics. When God began to speak to Joshua about the plan to take down the walls of Jericho, He gave Joshua very detailed and specific instructions exactly what to do, how to do it, and when to do it. This reminds me of when God spoke to Noah about building the ark. He didn’t just tell Noah to go and build a boat, he gave Noah the detailed plans to the inch of exactly how that ark was to be built. God is a God of details and specifics.

We are now at a very critical part of these events. No doubt Joshua had already been preparing his own plans after consulting with the best minds he could find on exactly how to take down he walls of Jericho and destroy that city. About this time, God, who Joshua has a wonderful relationship with, speaks to him and tells him in great specificity how to take down the walls of Jericho and destroy the city.

I am certain that after hearing God’s plan of marching around the walls for 6 days, on the 7th day march around them 7 times while blowing trumpets, and than have everyone give a loud shout which will cause the walls to come down, this war general and military strategist was on the floor laughing. God’s plan made no earthly sense at all.

My friend, you will find that God’s plan often doesn’t make sense to us. First of all, God knows things we don’t. In case you haven’t learned this yet, God is smarter than we are. God’s plan will often be something that in the end, when it works, people will have to sit back and say, “Only God could have done this!” This way it is God, not man, who gets the glory and it becomes a testimony of His power and majesty to this lost world we live in. This critical point was whether Joshua would go with his plan or God’s. Ultimately, he had to decide whether he had the faith to BELIEVE what God told him.

That takes us to the final step, which is where the rubber meets the road when it comes to our faith, acting on what God has told us to do. I have said to you often that if you believe it, you will do it! James, in talkng to Believers tells us that faith without works is dead. True Biblical faith REQUIRES ACTION! Saying you have faith but never acting on that faith is not really faith. Joshua heard from God, he believed what God told him, which left him no choice but to ACT on exactly what God told him to do!!!

I love you and care about you so much. In case you can’t feel it, I am fried up today! This is the meat of the word that motivates me, challenges me, and drives me each day to be all God has called me to be. I have spent literally tens of thousands of hours fellowshipping with God to be able to hear his voice clearly. Over these many years of following and serving the Lord, I am now at a place where I have seen His mighty hand in my life and millions of lives every day that when God says it I believe it. Because I have learned how to hear His voice and believe what He says, I have no problem stepping out and acting on what He tells me to do.

I never even owned a computer or sent or received an email until Liveprayer started in 1999. But I heard from God, I believed Him, and I acted on that belief. Even though I had done considerable work on Christian television, I had no idea what to expect when I went on major secular network TV stations and began telling a nonChristian audience each night what the Bible says and that Jesus is their only hope. But I heard from God that this is what He called me to do, I believed Him, and I acted on that belief. My friend, this is what walking by faith is all about!!!

I will be praying for you today. God is calling YOU to walk by faith just like Joshua did. The first key is to HEAR from God. Next, you must BELIEVE God. Lastly, you must ACT on what God is telling you to do. It is time for you to take your stand for the Lord just like Joshua and all the faithful men and women of God have over these past 6,000 years of human history. God loves you and wants to use your life. Your greatest blessings flow from obeying Him. I will be praying for you today to hear God speaking to you, praying for you to have the faith to believe God, and praying for you to act on what God is calling you to do!!!

In His love and service,
Your friend and brother in Christ,

Bill Keller

The Real Cause of the Colorado Theater Massacre

(John 10:10)

***ASK BILL: Pastor Bill, what exactly is required to surrender 100% to Christ and live by faith?

ANSWER: Die to self daily. That is done by waking up praying, getting in the Word first thing, and staying “plugged in” to God throughout the day. During the day, make decisions pleasing and acceptable to God. Don’t forget for one minute you are HIS ambassador. Find ways to serve Him. Trust Him with the problems you encounter throughout the day. Day after day, week after week, month after month, year after year, you learn to die to self daily and live for Him instinctively.

The real cause of the Colorado theater massacre. After listening to the tortured explanations the last few days for the horrific and senseless killings at the movie theater in Aurora, Colorado last week, let me share with you the REAL answer to the question people are asking, why? That answer is simple. We are literally living in an environment that nurtures acts of violence like this, and I am shocked we don’t see them occur more often. For the past two generation, we have cultivated a culture of death. Couple that with the purposeful removal of God from every aspect of public life, is it any wonder why people commit these types of horrific acts of violence?

The media, Hollywood, TV, the internet, have for several decades now mocked and demean people of faith, and fought to exclude a Biblcial worldview of daily life. In its place, they have proffered every type of Godless act. God’s Holy Institution of Marriage and the family has been perverted and decimated. We have the better part of two generations who have never been to church and thus have no faith background. Those people have grown up from birth being exposed to every kind of evil in this world, and indoctrinated to believe everything God’s Word stands against. It is in this evil and sinful environment that diminishes the value of human life we are now living.

Do you want an example? It is terrible that 12 people went to a place as innocent as a movie theater and lost their life. However, did you even consider for a moment, that in the past 24 hours another 4,000 innocent babies were slaughtered in this nation? NO? Don’t feel too bad, 99%+ didn’t either. We mourn during these horrible incidents where people lose their life, but never once consider we are killing 4,000 innocent babies in this nation alone every 24 hours. We live in a culture of death!!!

That culture of death hanging over this nation like a black cloud! God created man never to die. Physical and spiritual death were never part of God’s plan for man. However, it was man, exercising his God-given free will that introduced both forms of death into the human experience. Death is from the pits of hell itself, while life is from God. Satan comes to KILL, steal, and destroy and is synonymous with death. It is through faith in Jesus Christ that man is promised everlasting life and conquers death. Christ came to give life and life abundantly and He is synonymous with life.

Sadly, this has become a nation that has embraced, even glorifies death. Because we have separated ourselves so far from God, we no longer value life. Life is no longer viewed as special or treated as sacred. Many people ask me why I talk about abortion so often. It is because people have become numb and desensitized to death! We have simply come to live with the fact that we practice legalized infanticide and we don’t even give it a second thought.

We read in the Bible how Herod, after the birth of Jesus, sent his men to kill every baby under the age of two years. They literally ripped babies out of the arms of the mothers and killed them on the spot. Even though I have read that passage of Scripture 1,000 times, each time I read it in horror. What kind of monster would do such a thing to innocent babies? Yet, we are no better than Herod. Our President, the figurehead of our nation, is another “Herod.” He is the embodiment of this culture of death as he supports and advocates the killing of innocent babies. He will insure during his time in office that the practice of infanticide continues in this nation without any restrictions.

Children are born into this culture of death and brainwashed from birth that life has no meaning. Through the media that bombards them with images of violence and death, to the games they play, they are desensitized to death from birth. Just 20 minutes from the Liveprayer offices, a 9-year-old boy hung himself in his closet with a couple of belts after dinner. In Arizona, an 8-year-old shot and killed his father and his father’s friend. This was not an accidental shooting, but a deliberate act of murder. Teen and child suicide, teens involved in premeditated murder, are both on the rise in this nation.

I love you and care about you so much. Please wake up!!! We not only live in, but we accept this culture of death that hangs over our nation. Jesus came to deliver us from death. Jesus won the victory over death. We do not have to accept this black cloud of death that hangs over our land. It is time Christians took our stand and loudly, boldly, visibly proclaimed LIFE! Children are growing up without any understanding of where life came from and how precious it is. So it is no wonder why they have embraced death to the extent they have.

I have answered the call to lead this charge to bring our nation back to God and Biblical values. We have the infrastructure and resources to do it through Liveprayer. I am asking you to say NO to this culture of death we are living in and say YES to life!!! Don’t underestimate how critical 15 minutes a day can be as you help me by following one, two, or all 3 of these action steps. People are saved daily, lives are impacted daily, because someone made the effort to share Liveprayer with that person. YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE AND TAKE A REAL STAND FOR CHRIST EACH DAY!

1. Distribute Liveprayer Daily Devotional – I need people to take each day’s Daily Devotional and forward it to everyone that you know. This is a great way to help spread God’s Word on the Internet. Also, post it to various blogs and message boards that you frequent.

2. Jonah Project – Tell everyone that you know to check out the Jonah Project. This is the vehicle God has given us to bring together true followers of Jesus Christ in these last days in one group that can make an incredible impact on the spiritual course of this nation and in millions of people’s lives. There is a vision video on the Jonah Project homepage that clearly lays out how God can use this group in these last days. You can access the Jonah Project website by going to and clicking on the Jonah Project link

3. Fundraising – Unlike other ministries, Liveprayer has ZERO paid fundraisers or development people. Again, I just never went the route all major ministries go of having a staff of people who do nothing but contact donors and go out to raise funds. All we do each day, all that we provide is made available for FREE to take God’s Word into the marketplace and impact lives for Christ. Obviously it takes money to operate. I’ve simply shared our needs and walked by faith that God would provide each month. Raising money is a special gift. I am praying that those who have that special gift and want to serve God will help me in this area.

The fact is, there are lots of people who God has blessed and are giving to many different causes. Liveprayer is a highly visible ministry, a track record of over 13 years, and the fruit of literality millions of changed lives as a testimony that this is fertile soil for people to give into. Obama had literally thousands of regular people collecting money for his campaign. Normal people with no special skills or gifts in raising money. They simple believed in his work and got people to give towards it.

Are you ready to take your stand for Christ??? Liveprayer is a life-changing vehicle God has been using for nearly 13 years now to impact literally tens of millions of lives all over the world. We have tapped into the great technology of our day to reach the world and individual lives with the Truth of God’s Word and the hope and love of Jesus Christ. I can’t do this alone. Now more than ever it is critical for each person who knows the Lord to step up and allow Him to use your life. I have given you 3 action steps. You can choose one, two, or all three depending on how the Lord is leading you.

I refuse to accept this culture of death we live in. I am asking you to take your stand for Christ and help me change this nation into a culture of LIFE, abundant now and everlasting through faith in Jesus Christ!!!

In His love and service,
Your friend and brother in Christ,

Bill Keller
