During My Arabian Desert Experience God was Reworking Me

(Matthew 9:36, 20:28; 2 Corinthians 4:2, 6:4; 1 Thessalonians 2:4, 5:14)

During my “Arabian desert” experience from 1990-1992 as God was reworking me, molding me into the man He wanted me to be, I was immersed in the study of God’s Word for 12-16 hours every single day. I literally spent thousands of hours studying the life of Jesus in the Gospels, reading about His every move, paying close attention to how Jesus conducted His business. After all, He was the only one who lived this life perfectly. He is our example. He is the one we follow and are to pattern our lives after. The goal of every person who has accepted the Lord into their heart and life by faith is to become more like Him each day.

One area of Christ’s life that I studied endlessly was how He ministered to others. If I was going to serve Him, minister in His name, I wanted to minister to people the way Jesus did. The first thing that stood out about the way Jesus ministered was that He loved people, He had great compassion for them. You can literally feel His love for people as He ministered to their needs, no matter what those needs were. The second thing that stood out to me was that Jesus cared enough about people to tell them the truth. Even when it was not what they wanted to hear, even if His words hurt their feelings, Jesus loved people enough to tell them the truth.

The last thing that stood out was how ACCESSIBLE Jesus was to the people. How could you seriously minister to someone’s hurts and pains without having some interaction with that person? How could you effectively help someone through their struggles from a distance? Jesus got involved in people’s lives! Yes, there were those times when He spoke to large crowds like when he gave the “Sermon on the Mount,” but for the most part, Christ’s earthly ministry was one on one or to small groups of people. Jesus understood that to effectively minister to people’s needs, He had to be accessible to the people and he had to be involved in their lives. Sadly today, so much ministry is conducted “one way.”

In the 20 years now since I have been in full-time ministry, I have always done my best to follow the example of Christ and make myself accessible and available to the people who I was reaching out to. Without a doubt the biggest hurdle to overcome in any sort of media ministry, whether it be on the Internet, TV, radio, or film, through music, or in books and magazines, is to be accessible and minister to the needs of each individual you are reaching. This has also become a big problem in the “mega churches” where you have thousands and thousands of people in the congregation. People need someone to minister to them when they are hurting and need counsel and prayer.

That is why the commitment was made day one when Liveprayer started 13 years ago that every email for prayer would be responded to. That was not such a hard commitment to keep in the first days when there were only a few dozen, but as Liveprayer has grown and there are now over 40,000 prayer requests daily, we have worked hard to keep that commitment and make sure each email for prayer receives a personal response. The internet is a very difficult medium to make interactive since it is designed for one-way communication. However, through our existing infrastructure, we have been able through email to make Liveprayer VERY interactive and accessible to anyone who logs on.

Yes, Liveprayer reaches over 2.4 million people daily through the Internet, yes, but we have done our very best to insure that any person we reach has a way of communicating with us and most important, that we can communicate BACK to them and minister to their individual needs. I never forget for a second that each person who receives the Daily Devotional is a unique and special person that Jesus loves and died for. Out of the billions of people on this planet, it is no accident that God allowed them to read that message or watch that video, and as they reach out for help it is my responsibility to be there for them and make sure they know they are loved!

I love you and care about you so much. The one thing that I thank God for each day is for a new heart that truly loves and cares for people. There is no way that I could do what I do 7 days a week otherwise. I can honestly say that I have not always had such a heart, and even now am often selfish and need to work on being more loving and compassionate towards others. But deep down, God has given me a desire to help those who are hurting and facing the trials and tribulations we all go through during our brief journey through this life. I have no doubt that the number one job God has called me to do is to share His Truth and be there for those that are lost, hurting, and looking for answers and hope in their life.

That is why I am driven to reach more people every day through the Daily Devotional and our media platforms. It doesn’t equate to more money coming in as it would in a business. As a matter of fact it equates to more money going out since we have to pay to reach out to those we do and then bear the expenses to follow up and minister to them. However, there are billions of people living today without the hope of Christ. Billions of people hurting as they make their way through this life. It is my prayer, daily, for God to continue to give me the resources and ability to reach as many of those people as possible since I have the answer they are looking for, the hope they desire–JESUS CHRIST!

As impersonal as the Internet can be, I will keep doing all I can to insure that Liveprayer is a very personal experience for each person we minister to. What has set this ministry apart from anyone else on the Internet is that we just don’t minister to people “one way,” but have made ourselves accessible so that those who are hurting, those who need God’s touch in their life, know there is a place to come where they will be prayed for and receive a personal response to guide them, encourage them, and walk with them.

One reason why I still answer app. 300 emails at random every day is because I never want to lose sight of what I am here for, and that is to minister to the needs of the dear people we reach each day through the Internet. The day I am too busy to minister to someone who is hurting, too important to reach out to someone who needs Christ’s love and hope, that is the day I need to leave the ministry and go do something else. God has called me to serve others, not have others serve me. I am grateful every day for God’s grace and mercy in my life. He never gave up on me even though I turned my back on Him. I am honored that He allows me the privilege to serve Him, and try my best each day to bring honor and glory to His name through my life.

I am praying for you today my friend. Praying for God’s blessings in your life and His strength as you faithfully follow Him. Please know that when you come to those rough places in life we all come to at times, I will be here for you. Never hesitate to email me at bkeller@liveprayer.com any time I can help you in any way. God has blessed me with the privilege of sharing His Truth with you each day, to encourage you in your relationship with Him, and to be here to pray with you and for you in your time of need. Jesus ministered in a very personal way to the needs of those He reached. I will continue to do my best to follow His example.

In His love and service,
Your friend and brother in Christ,

Bill Keller

It’s Time for Mickey Mouse to Go

(Romans 12:5; 1 Corinthians 10:17; Galatians 3:28)

I’m not sure if there was ever a Devotional that made me as sad to write as this one, but it is time to get out the rat poison and get rid of Mickey Mouse. I was a child in the ’60s and grew up with Mickey, Donald Duck, and Goofey. Every Sunday night on TV I watched Walt Disney’s Wide World of Entertainment. The great movies I grew up watching were the Disney classics. To this day, I vividly remember in 1974 going on what would be my first of many trips to Disneyworld in the Orlando area. It is one of those magical places that is exciting if you are 5 or 50! That is why it is so difficult for me to tell you today that it is time to get rid of Mickey Mouse!

The Disney empire, founded by Walt Disney, sadly went corporate many years ago. While they have tried to maintain and promote that “family friendly” image that made Disney such a treasured name, they have not been able to hide the fact that over the years they have traded in that image and the good name of Disney for profits. In addition to Walt Disney Pictures, they also own Touchstone Pictures, Miramax Films, Buena Vista Home Entertainment, and others. It is under these other names that they produce and profit off of motion pictures promoting sex, violence, torture, and whatever depravity you can name. No matter how they try to hide it, these are Disney owned properties.

Of course, Disney also owns ABC Television. Despite that fact, they have not been shy in producing garbage like Desperate Housewives, Good Christian B %&*es and other programming to capitalize on the moral decay of our society. Wonder how long Walt would have put up with ABC’s anti-Christian, anti-government, pro homosexual views on life? Disney also owns cable television, radio, and publishing properties that continuously put out content that is anything but “family friendly.”

Of course, the centerpiece of the Disney corporate empire are the theme parks. In addition to Disneyland in the Los Angeles area and Disneyworld in the Orlando area, you also have Disney theme parks in Tokyo, Paris, and Hong Kong. Over the years, I have taken the folks at Disney to task for their support of “Gay Days” at their parks. While they initially tried to distance themselves from these gatherings of people who have chosen to commit the sin of homosexuality, they now openly and without shame help to promote and support these special days when they welcome with open arms men and women who have chosen to engage in this unnatural and deviant form of sexual relations.

The final straw came for me a few years ago when Disney announced they will now welcome same-sex couples to get married at their Disney theme parks. It has long been a special package Disney has offered to people wanting to get married at the Disney parks. Thousands and thousands of weddings have taken place at Disney parks over the years. Until a few weeks ago, they had a policy that only allowed marriages with a legal marriage license. Disney Parks and Resorts spokesman Donn Walker said this change is in line with Disney’s long-standing policy of welcoming every guest to the inclusive environments at the company’s theme parks. “We want everyone who comes to celebrate a special occasion at Disney to feel welcome and respected,” Walker told the AP.

Now I am certain many people reading this are thinking, with all the problems in my life, in the world, who cares if gay people get married at Disney? Fair question. Here is why we not only should care, but MUST care! We as Christians have NO VOICE! NONE! NOBODY CARES WHAT WE THINK OR SAY! Part of the reason is that we have chosen to take ourselves out of the public arena and retreat to the safety of the Christian trough years ago. The few who did stay to try and bring Truth to the world were marginalized, stereotyped, mocked, and ignored. The other part of that reason is that we are so fractured, we don’t speak with one voice but many, thus there is no clear and concise message.

The fact is we have the numbers, we have the ability to not only be heard but institute change. We have the ability to make a difference on the key social issues of our day. But there are only a few who are willing to stand up and be heard without compromising the Truth of God’s Word. Sadly, none of these people have the ability to bring Christians across all of the barriers we have erected to divide ourselves from each other making it is easy to dismiss those few as “nutcases,” “whackos,” and “extremists.” So it has been easier for most to simply retreat to the safety and profitability of the Christian trough, focus on those who are friendly to them and their message, those who will financially support them, and not care about even trying to bring the Body together or reach out to the lost and hurting. To them, those goals are a waste of time, energy and not worth the “investment.”

I love you and care about you so much. I am NOT telling you to quit watching ABC, or going to watch movies put out by Disney movie studios, or to stop taking your kids to Disney theme parks. That is a principled choice YOU need to make. I am telling you that the Mickey Mouse of 2012 is NOT the Mickey Mouse created by Walt Disney. The current Mickey Mouse has sold his soul to satan for money. While he still wants to be seen as the friend of the family, the fact is he has no conscience and will do whatever it takes to add a few cents to the bottom line of the Disney balance sheets. While we used to think of Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, it won’t be long before we see Mickey Mouse with Mark Mouse!!!

Sadly, because so many men and women of God have also sold out for the bottom line, there is no real voice to lead the Christian community. Due to the fact everyone relies on people to give them money, they are more interested in focusing their time and effort on those who will support them than working to reach across the man-made walls we have built that divide us. They don’t preach a pure message of Truth and hope since they have to focus each message on how to raise money. Thus, we are divided into our little fiefdoms, with no real voice, even though the numbers are there to make an incredible impact on this nation and world if we could come together as one.

Now maybe you can better understand my heart and vision. That is why I am feverishly working on not only getting the Liveprayer TV program back on a national platform this September to bring God’s Truth and the hope and love of Jesus Christ to the lost and hurting and creating a non-threatening conduit for all Believers to have their voice heard. I should be able to sit down with the folks at Disney and let them know that if they allow same sex marriages to occur at their parks, they can forget any support from the Christian community. Let them make a business decision. We should be able to wield that type of influence in all areas of our culture as well as politically. We have the numbers, we simply don’t have the voice and unity.

I will be praying for you. Praying that you will seek the Lord whether your family needs to continue to support Disney with your dollars. I will also ask you to be praying as God continues to open the right doors to bring the right people into the life of this ministry as we seek to establish Liveprayer as a place all Believers can look to to bring the Truth of God’s Word into the marketplace and take a stand for righteousness in the marketplace. *If charlatans like Jackson and Sharpton can invoke their will on society, if a group of people who choose to engage in sex God calls a sin and an abomination can invoke their will on society, it is time that the people of God who stand on His Truth and righteousness to invoke GOD’S WILL on society!!!

Mickey Mouse has sold his soul, he is not the Mickey Mouse Walt Disney created those many years ago. It is time for him to go!!!

In His love and service,
Your friend and brother in Christ,

Bill Keller

It All Started with Liveprayer

(John 3:16,17)

“I would like to give you an update on my progress. I have prayed that prayer to invite Christ into my heart through your ministry a few months ago. I received your booklet, and read through it. Since then, I have become involved with a church, am praying more and reading the Scriptures. Next month, I will be confirmed to that church through baptism. I know that through the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, anything can be accomplished. It all started with Liveprayer! Thank you, Pastor Keller for all you do for so many each day. God bless you.”

THIS is what Liveprayer has been about for 13 yrs now, and this is why I get up each morning and come to my office. If it was this one eternal soul, I would still do it! Even though through the years over 600,000 we know of have come to faith in Jesus through Liveprayer, apx. 2,000 every week, our work here is not complete. In the midst of sharing His Truth with the lost masses, God has called Liveprayer to play a key role in helping to turn this nation back to Him and Biblical Truth.

Sadly, few these days are willing to go into the marketplace, the secular media, with the uncompromised Truth of God’s Word. Instead, they go to “tickle ears,” promise unbiblical rewards for “sending them a loved gift,” ask people to send them money to support a compromised agenda, while refusing to take a real stand for the Truth of the Bible since it doesn’t help their fundraising efforts.

Through the years, we have had literally thousands of people stop donating to God’s work here because I wouldn’t stop talking about the FACT killing babies is against God’s Word. Many had sons and daughters who were in bondage to homosexuality and stopped helping us because I would never back down on that issue. Many have been upset because I dare to tell the truth about the satanically inspired Masonic cult. Countless Mormons were horrified when they found out that I wouldn’t “fall into line” like most preachers and endorse their cult, instead, warning people that Mormonism is a lie conceived in the mind of satan to lead souls to hell!

Recently, with the financial downturn in our nation, many of our dearest friends who have helped in a significant way make all we have done for tens of millions these last 13 yrs have been unable to help due to their own financial problems or from having to help family members in need. Even in the midst of all of these challenges, I have refused to back down from telling the Truth according to God’s Word regardless who was offended, or stop moving this work forward to our final conclusion despite the incredible financial pressures we have been under. I walk in faith in day knowing that God always has a ram in the bush, people whose hearts he touches to take their stand with me in these last days!

>From day one, I have only asked the Lord to provide for what we needed to get through that month. I have refused hundreds of thousands of dollars from outside groups wanting to use this ministry to sell books, tapes, trinkets, get involved in an endless array of pyramid schemes, or sell people everything under the sun. Everything we have done here at Liveprayer from day one has been for FREE and always will be. I will keep doing what I have done from day one and that is to get on my knees each morning and ask God to simply move on the hearts of those with the means to help me, whether that is with $1, $10, $100, $1,000, or $10,000!

The first of July, after many delays we will finally have the printed and online edition of my new book that will become a key component to helping lead this nation back to God and His Truth!

God has opened the door for Liveprayer to be back on secular TV, five nights a week, nationwide, starting September 1st. What an incredible door the Lord has opened for us, at such a critical time. For 5 yrs, the Liveprayer TV program impacted hundreds of thousands of lives by dealing with the issues of the day from a Biblical worldview. The Liveprayer TV program has the history and proven results of changed lives by helping people deal with the problems in life from a Biblical perspective.

In just 95 days, the power of God’s unadulterated Word will be helping to change lives and save souls around this nation. However, in the meantime, our daily work here at Liveprayer that is the foundation of our service to the Lord must continue.

Do you realize every 24 hours, this ministry reaches 2.4 million people worldwide with God’s Truth on the issues of the day and that people deal with in their lives? Every 24 hours, we receive 40,000 emails for prayer that our wonderful team of 700 retired pastors send personal responses to. Well over 70 million since we started Liveprayer 13 years ago. Most important, each week we see apx. 2,000 souls come to faith in Jesus Christ, over 600,000 since we started. Isn’t God great?

Between the Daily Devotionals, the Daily Video Message, the weekly Liveprayer Church service, apx 15 media interviews, Liveprayer puts on an incredible amount of unique content each day that no other minsitry with huge staffs produce. Most critical is that Liveprayer is one of the few places people can find God’s Word without filter, without compromise, and without fail each and every day!

As only God can do, we do all of this for just a bit over $1,000 a day! That is the budget of a local church with a congregation of 500 that meets once a week!!!

I come to you today because I desperately need your help. My biggest concern today is these getting through these next 95 days. Once we are on TV nationwide, we will bring a new audience to our daily work and a percentage of that audience will be new donors to help support all we do each day here at Liveprayer for the Lord. We still have to make up the last $37,000 of our May budget, $17,000 of that is several weeks past due, and the $40,000 we need to operate in June, July, and August. That is a total of $157,000 over the next 95 days.

I am praying today for the Lord to send 2 people who can immediately help me with a special one-time gift of $8,500 to cover the $17,000 that we have to meet in the next day, and 140 people who can make the sacrifce to send a special one-time gift of $1,000. Obviously, whatever God lays on your heart to give is deeply appreciated, since the Bible teaches to give according to our ability to give. However, I know there are two people reading this right now who have the ability to send a special one-time gift of $8,500, and 140 who can send a special one-time gift of $1,000.

There is no better soil you can sow into than God’s work here at Liveprayer, and our track record of faithfulness literally 24/7/365 for 13 years now!!! God’s blessings flow from our obedience, and I can only share that so many who have helped Liveprayer over the years have been blessed above and beyond all you can imagine because of their obedience. Don’t expect someone else to do what God is asking you to do, and allow someone else to receive the blessing God intended for you!

I desperately need to hear from my friends today, and desperately am asking everyone to pray about digging deep, making a special one-time sacrifce to help God’s work here as we press forward, going where most refuse to go because it is not profitable or comfortable, not really caring about millions of souls who will die and go to hell each day because those with the Truth refused to speak up!!!

I am asking that you take a moment and pray right now about being one of the 142 I need to insure that between now and September 1st, all of our basic operational needs are met! God has always raised up a few to feed the many, since the widow gave her last meal to the prophet and the little boy fed the multitudes with a few loves and fishes. Will you make this sacrifice and stand with me today???

TO GIVE A GIFT TO LIVEPRAYER, you can use your major credit card on our secure server at: http://www.liveprayer.com under the “Donation” link, you can give using your PayPal account using my email address: bkeller@liveprayer.com,or you can mail your gift to: Liveprayer, 6660 46th Ave. North, St.Petersburg, FL 33709. All gifts to Liveprayer are 100% tax deductible.

I love you and care about you so much. Together, we have done much through the years here at Liveprayer, however, our work is not finished. Our final work is underway, and the book, the TV program starting in September are the final pieces to help make that happen. We are going to do our part to change the spiritual course of this nation, to call this nation to repentant and back to God and His Truth, while leading the lost and hurting to faith in Jesus Christ.

I can’t do this alone. Will you stand with me and help me?

In His love and service,
Your friend and brother in Christ,

Bill Keller

Is War a Proper Response

(Deuteronomy Chapter 20)

As we have been engaged in war against those who would love to destroy our nation, the debate continues as to whether war is a proper response. The proponents of “peace without war” use the Bible as their key defense of their position, even though many in the “peace without war” movement are avowed atheists and find the Bible to be little more than a book of stories. Interestingly, these same people run to God’s Word to defend their views.

However, many Christians also adopt this view of “peace without war.” I realize that this is a very divisive issue, and my goal is never to divide, but unite the Body of Christ. However, I cannot shy away from the tough issues, and ultimately we all must find peace on each issue, not in our own thoughts and ideas, but from the Word of God. That MUST be our final authority in ALL matters. Please pray as you read these words today.

To properly discuss war from a Biblical perspective, we have to understand the theological context from which war exists. God created man in perfection. Man was perfect, never to die. The creation God made for man to exist in was perfect. However, man’s sin changed all of that. We have to understand that war is a by-product of man’s sin. God did not create war. God does not approve of war. God even prevented David, a man after His own heart, not to finish the Temple because he was a man of war.

War stems from man’s sin and became part of the human condition from the very beginning. Because of man’s sin, because of the sin that is in every part of our world, until God brings this world as we know it to an end, war will ALWAYS be part of the human experience. THERE WILL BE NO PEACE UNTIL THE PRINCE OF PEACE HIMSELF RETURNS!!!

We are then faced with this situation. War is a result of man’s sinfulness. It will be part of this world until Christ returns and God brings this world as we know it to a conclusion. The question becomes, what is the proper response of a Christian to war. We all know that one of the 10 Commandments is “thou shalt not murder.” War involves killing. On the surface, the issue seems to be pretty simple. As Christians, we should not be involved in war since it involves killing. However, God Himself, ordered His children to war and specifically ordered them to kill on many occasions. This seems to be a gross contradiction. No matter what anyone leads you to believe, the Bible does NOT contradict itself EVER!!

The 10 Commandments were given to people . . . to individuals. In every case where God ordered His people to war, it was against an enemy who had no desire for peace, had no desire to settle their disputes amicably, and actually had the goal of destroying God’s people from the face of the earth. War became a defensive measure against the destruction of God’s people. There are many examples I can use, but does anyone think Adolph Hitler would have been stopped had it not been for the military effort that defeated his armies?

When studying the Bible, context is critical. When studying the Bible, taking the whole counsel of God into consideration is vital to properly understand it. That is why I share often that you have to read the entire book so you get a feel, an understanding for the nature of God. There is no doubt God is a God of peace. Peace was the perfection into which we were created. However, God is also a God of judgment, and often, God uses His people as instruments of His judgment.

We can never know completely the mind of God, or fully comprehend His plans, but it is clear in reading the Bible God often used His people in acts of war to preserve them from destruction. He also used His people to exercise judgment on those who were the enemies of God, and further His plan that all who would believe might know the gift of everlasting life through their faith in Him.

That brings us to today and our current situation. As Christians, how should we respond to the fact our nation is involved in war, which includes the killing of innocent men, women, and children. This of course, is the key argument of those who say we should not be involved in war, since innocent people will die. It is impossible to understand this issue without accepting God and His plan. It is impossible without accepting the Bible as God’s inspired, inerrant Word. You must realize that life is everlasting.

This time here on this earth is but for a brief few years. In light of eternity, whether we live 1 day, 1 year, 10 years, 20 years, 50 years, or 100 years, really makes little difference. Our purpose is NOT to see how long we can live, but find our faith in Christ and fulfill our God-given purpose to serve and glorify Him with whatever time we do have. The fact is, we all will die. Some through natural causes in old age. Some by disease. Some by accidents. Some through war. Regardless of how, we ALL will die one day. Which is why I try to remind you often, tomorrow is promised to nobody. We must treat each day like the gift from God it is. That is why the Bible says “Today is the day of salvation.” You may not have the chance to repent and come to know Christ tomorrow.

It is very sad that people are dying from these conflicts we are in. But the fact is, over 3,000 innocent people died on U.S. soil on September 11. The fact is, people in this world die each day because of wars between nations and people who disagree with each other on a wide array of issues. That is why we must all do our part each day to share the love and hope we have in Christ so that people worldwide have the opportunity to accept Him by faith so their eternal home with God is insured.

My personal belief through the study of the Scriptures is that God hates war, but allows it much like He allows other evils born out of the sin in our world. Romans 8:28 tells us, “In all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to His purpose.” Does God enjoy the evils that exist in this world due to sin? NO!!! Never forget that God is ALWAYS on His throne and always in control. Nothing happens that God does not allow. He can take the evil of man and use it to fulfill His plan and purpose.

Also, don’t forget that while we look at events in relation to time, God is not bound by time and the events of this world are but a blip in eternity to Him. One day, very soon, God will step in and bring to a conclusion this world as we know it. In the meantime, because of sin, there will always be evil and the by products of evil. However, God will always use events, even horrible events to further His plan and purpose for man to know Him by faith.

We as a nation have every right, and even responsibility to defend ourselves from those who would destroy us. Much like the children of Israel had a right and responsibility to defend themselves from those nations that would try to destroy them, there are evil forces in this world who would love to see the United States cease to exist. Thankfully, our forefathers understood this and defended our country to their death so that we could enjoy the great freedom and liberty we enjoy today. It is now our turn to defend this nation from its enemies to insure that our children have the same freedoms should the Lord tarry in His return.

God has used our nation in a great way in the fulfillment of His plans and purpose. Should we continue to honor Him, and glorify Him as a nation, I have no doubt that we will continue to be part of His plan. That is why I am sure God will be with this nation in this war on terror, since we are simply defending ourselves from people in the world who would see us destroyed-people who have no desire for peace!

I love you and care about you very much. I realize out of the over 2,400,000+ who get this Devotional worldwide, many will disagree with what I have said today. All I can do is implore you to dig into the Scriptures. Read throughout the Old Testament those passages that involve wars. Be careful in many of the passages both in the Old and New Testaments, to insure the context of the passage is referring to individuals or to nations. There are many places God is speaking directly to nations, and others, where He is clearly speaking to individuals. I know that there will continue to be division on this issue.

The fact is, no matter how you feel, war is with us until God decides to bring things to an end. There will be no real peace, until the Prince of Peace returns. As a nation, we must defend ourselves from those who would destroy us. But in so doing, we must insure that we remain a nation that honors and serves the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. As individuals, we must get serious not only about cleaning up our own lives, but doing so in order God can use us to minister to the lost and hurting. I believe deep down time is very short. We must take advantage of whatever time is left do be about our Father’s business.

May God continue to richly bless the United States, and all the nations of the world that honor Him. May God bless and instill wisdom in our leaders. May God bless and protect the men and women of the armed services from all the nations who support us in this action to rid the world of terrorism. May God bless those people who will be caught in the middle of this conflict, and may they find peace as they look to Him for comfort. Lastly, may God pour out His love to those who have turned their hearts against Him, that they may know His love and by faith receive the gift of everlasting life through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.

In His love and service,

Your friend and brother in Christ,

Bill Keller

How Often Do We Pray Asking God to Help Us and In His Mercy Our Prayer is Answered

(Luke 17:11-19)

How often do we pray, asking God to help us with a need in our life, and in His mercy our prayer is answered. The real question for today is, after we get our answer, how often do we spend time just giving Him the praise and thanks he deserves? Mankind really has changed little over the years. In today’s scripture, we read about the ten lepers who were healed, yet only one came back to give Jesus thanks.

It is easy to read that passage and condemn the other nine, yet each one of us has probably been guilty of receiving God’s blessings and not being as thankful as we should be. We can get to a place in our walk with the Lord where we are used to His blessings. We can get to a place where we expect His blessings. As His children, we should enjoy the rich blessings of God in our life and live a life of faith, expecting Him to bless us. The problem comes when we take His blessings for granted and aren’t as thankful as we should be. We must never forget, we are blessed by His grace, not because we deserve to be blessed.

Today’s message is not difficult or hard to understand. If nothing else, let it be a reminder to you to never take God’s blessings in your life for granted. More important, never forget to show your gratitude for all He does for you each day. Growing up, young children are taught to say please and thank you. It is not only good manners to say thank you, but should be something we want to do. We pray, believe, trust, and see God work; the natural reaction should be one of gratitude. Our praise and thanksgiving should flow from a grateful heart for what He has done for us.

The reminder today is to never forget when God is blessing you, that it is because He loves you and cares for you. The natural response to that love should be to love Him, adore Him, and give Him the thanks He is due. Check yourself and make sure you are not like the nine who took their blessing and went on with their life, but like the one who was grateful for what the Lord did for him.

It is out of my love and caring for you that I write these words today. I pray that you continue to grow closer in your relationship to the Lord. Like any relationship, it doesn’t happen overnight, but grows day by day. I can promise you that the most exciting days are still ahead. He has a perfect plan for each one of His children, and it is our job to stay close to Him so that He can work through our lives to reach others. I will be praying today that you will stay in that close, intimate, daily relationship with Christ that is the key to our life.

Never forget that when you get off-track, overwhelmed by the problems this life can present, I will be here to help you. It is no accident you are getting the Devotionals each day, and God is doing His best to speak to you through them. He loves you so much and so do I. You are never alone!!!

Please, take a moment today to simply say a prayer of thanksgiving, and thank God for ALL that He does for you each and every day. It is out of His love for us that He blesses our lives, and it is out of our love for Him that we say THANK YOU!

In His love and service,
Your friend and brother in Christ,

Who Will be in Heaven

(Ephesians 2:8,9)

Who will be in Heaven? One of the things that upsets me more than anything is to hear people say, “We don’t know who will and won’t be in Heaven!” Sadly, I even hear supposed “pastors” like the gutless Joel Osteen make statements like this, so it is no wonder people are confused over this simply questions. Salvation is not a game, and God gave us the clear direction in the Bible that even a 3rd grader can understand. If you accept Jesus into your heart and life by faith you are saved and will be in Heaven, and if you reject Him, you will be in hell. It is not complicated!

As you can imagine, each day I get tons of emails with questions on all types of topics. Of everything we discuss, the most important subject there is, is salvation. I want to use this time today to clarify for many out there, who will be in Heaven. The salvation equation is very simple. It is by God’s grace, our faith, plus NOTHING.

There is only ONE way to Heaven…a personal faith in Jesus Christ. There is only ONE road to Heaven. That means that the type of church you belong to will not get you into Heaven, no amount of good works will get you into Heaven, you can’t buy your way into Heaven…the only way to Heaven is through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. That is God’s plan as He clearly lays out in the Bible.
The church is a place where people should be able to find a personal relationship with Christ, a place of fellowship, a place to be fed spiritually, a place where people can use their talents to serve God. Membership in a church WILL NOT get you into Heaven when you die. There are many people who go through life doing wonderful things, helping people, and living good lives. There are no amount of good works you can do in this lifetime to eliminate the sin we were all born with. Being a good person WILL NOT get you into Heaven when you die, since the Bible clearly states there are NONE that is good, no not one, because we are all born with sin and commit sins each day!

There is only one way to get to Heaven, and that is through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ!!!

My friend, the message I want you to understand today is that God has made a simple way for His fallen children to be reconciled back into an everlasting relationship. Many have tried to complicate the issue of salvation. It is actually very simple. Recognize that you are a sinner. Repent, turn away from your sins and ask God to forgive you. Accept by faith Jesus Christ into your heart and surrender your life to Him.

Why Jesus? Because in God’s plan, it was His sacrifice that paid for our sins. You see, Jesus already paid the price for our sins. That is why there are no amount of good works, no amount of money, nothing you can do on your own, because He already paid the price. Some feel baptism is part of the salvation experience, but baptism is simply an outward sign of the inward work of salvation. In essence, baptism would be a “work” and today’s scripture clearly tells us that salvation is by grace, through faith, and NOT of works.

Some ask about those who accept Christ on their deathbed, and how unfair it is for them to go to Heaven after a life of sin and rebellion. First of all, in perspective, this life is but a “vapor” as the Bible calls it, in comparison with eternity. You have to remember that those who rebelled during their life and come to Christ at the end, missed the joy, peace, and blessings of this life, and must have suffered greatly on the inside living apart from God during those years on earth. The important fact is that like you and me, they are sinners who are saved by God’s grace.

Many ask if you can lose your salvation. I am not going to get into the age-old theological debate of “once saved always saved”, but a study of the Scripture teaches us that part of the salvation equation is God’s grace. To lose your salvation means that God would withdraw His grace. I have read any passage that states God would take His grace away, and of course the question becomes, at what point would He?

The Bible teaches that if you make a sincere commitment to Christ by faith, you are saved. If you rebel, you lose the blessings, the peace, and the joy; much like the prodigal son never stopped being His father’s son, but lost out on the blessings of living in submission to his father and endured much pain and heartache for rebelling. The bottom line, though, is follow Christ and you never have to worry about losing your salvation.

I love you and care about you deeply. I pray that this helps many of you clarify in your mind and heart the most important issue of our life… determining where we will spend eternity. If you are reading this today and do not have the assurance that you will spend eternity in Heaven, or you have never accepted by faith Jesus Christ into your life, than let me encourage you to do it today. The Bible tells us that TODAY is the day of salvation. Don’t wait another minute.

Hearing from God then Obeying God

(1 Samuel 15:22; Joshua 1:8; Exodus 19:5; Revelation 22:14)

The other day I received an email from a man that had been following Liveprayer for some many years. God had moved on his heart recently to get rid of his jewelry. For some reason, he felt his jewelry had become an idol, something that was hindering his relationship with the Lord and God was speaking to his heart about simply getting rid of it. He contacted me and said after much prayer he wanted to donate the jewelry to Liveprayer and let us liquidate it and use the funds for the ministry. I told him that I was honored he thought of us and wanted to make such a sacrifice. We arranged to meet the next day.

Now, for those who know about jewelry, you understand that it is one of the worst investments you can ever make. Just because you paid $3,000 for an item at Zales, does NOT mean you have something that is worth $3,000. That item will bring only $300 if you went to a pawn shop, and even if you sold it, you are probably not going to get much more than $2,000 in a best-case scenario. In fact, the ONLY jewelry that has any investment value are high-end pieces of $50,000 and above, and even when liquidating those pieces for cash you will rarely get anything close what they may are worth.

I met the young man outside a Bennigan’s and we sat and talked for about 30 minutes. I got to know a bit about his life, he shared some of his struggles with me, and I prayed for him and for God’s blessings on his life as he continued to follow the Lord. He gave me a bag that contained his jewelry and I left to meet with a couple who was going through a divorce. Several hours later, I finally got home and had a chance to look at the items this young man had donated to the ministry. Several rings, a gold bracelet, a necklace, all total probably about $1,000 worth of items. I was grateful for his generosity, but most important, encouraged by his willingness to not just hear God, but obey God!

That is my message to you today. I have talked to you in the past about how to HEAR God. That is obviously very important. However, after we hear God, we then have to OBEY God! That can often be easier said than done. God speaks to us in many ways. Most times, He speaks to us through His Word, through our time in prayer, through others, and through our circumstances. As I have shard often, the more we practice “hearing God,” the better we become at hearing His voice. The key is, God will never contradict His Word. When God speaks to you, it will always be in line with His Word. That is the major test to knowing if it is truly God’s voice.

Again, hearing God’s voice is important, but after you hear His voice you then need to obey His voice. This is where our commitment to the Lord gets tested. Many times, we hear what God is saying to us but we don’t want to obey Him. This is usually the case when He is calling us to do something we dislike, or calling us to make some sort of sacrifice. Sacrifice is really not something most people want to hear. We love to hear about blessings, but really don’t want to hear about sacrifice.

We claim to love the Lord, but the true test of that love comes when He calls us to sacrifice something for Him. Sacrifice calls us to give up something precious. That something precious can be money, it can be possessions, but in most cases it is OURSELVES! You see, the greatest sacrifice you can make to the Lord is YOURSELF! You have nothing more valuable to give to Christ than your life. The fact is, when you accepted Jesus into your heart and life by faith, part of that process is the act of giving your life to Him. The Bible says that we have been bought with a price, that it is no longer our life any longer but that we belong to Him. So when the Lord speaks to you and you are faced with the opportunity to obey His voice, you are really only giving Him what He already owns anyway–YOU!

I love you and care about you so much. I know that this is a very challenging word today. We are all called each day to obey God’s voice. Throughout the course of the day God will speak to us, and not just hearing His voice, but obeying His voice is what we are required to do as His followers. Obeying God often calls for sacrifice on our part. Whether it is sacrificing our time, talent, or treasure, ALL WE HAVE BELONGS TO HIM! So in essence, He is only asking us to give Him what already belongs to Him anyway.

I thank God for young men like I met with the other day. For this young man, it was a HUGE sacrifice to give up his jewelry. But he heard God’s voice telling him this is what God wanted him to do and he was obedient. God will always bless our obedience! Let me say that one more time. GOD WILL ALWAYS BLESS OUR OBEDIENCE!

I am praying for you today, that as you hear the voice of God in your life, that you will not just hear His voice but obey His voice. God has a purpose and reason for what He asks us to do. Rarely do we fully comprehend that purpose or reason, but that is not our job. Our job is to simply be obedient and do what God is calling us to do no matter what that may be. May you take time each day to not only hear God’s voice, but be faithful to obey God’s voice.

For those who may not have any extra funds to help Liveprayer, never forget that you can still help us through our Gold for Souls program. This is a great way to help God’s work here through sacrificing some of your jewelry. For all of the details, please go to: http://secure.goldforsouls.com/
