We Have a Virtual Altar Here at Liveprayer

(Matthew 9:36)

***DAILY PERSONAL PRAYER FOR YOU: Dear Lord, I have strayed from you and want to come home. I have allowed the daily life in this world to lead me astray, to allow me to drift from you, and I miss you dear Lord! Today, I recommit my heart and life to you and to serve you. Use me for your glory Lord. Make my life count for your Kingdom. Above all, bring to me your PEACE and JOY! Give me the joy of my salvation again as I walk close to you each moment of each day. In Jesus name I pray…AMEN!

Over these past 17 years, I have had the honor and privilege of preaching from the pulpits of some great churches. I have always started my message from the pulpit, but honestly can’t remember EVER ending my message from the pulpit. It is usually very early in the word I am sharing that I come out from behind the pulpit to be closer to the people I am ministering to. It is usually not very long before I am actually off the platform and down where the people are.

I end every message with an invitation for those I am ministering to to ask Christ into their heart and life by faith, and always flow right from praying with those who want to accept the Lord into their life to opening the altar for anyone with needs to come forward so that I can pray for them. I throw havoc into the schedules of churches with multiple Sunday morning services since I refuse to leave the altar until everyone has been prayed for. I can remember many times over the years when I have been at the altar praying with endless streams of people for many hours AFTER the service was over.

My heart beats to help the lost find an everlasting relationship with Jesus Christ and the hurting find their hope in the Lord as they battle life’s problems. Today, I want to climb out of the pulpit, come down in the midst of the people, stretch forth my arms and proclaim to you that Jesus is your only hope during this brief journey through life and that Jesus is your only hope for all eternity. I’m here to let you know that I love you so much and I care about you more than you will ever know. While I don’t have a physical altar to meet you at this morning, I do have this virtual altar that I want to invite you to so that I can pray for you, pray with you, and believe God for your needs today.

God showed me many years ago that we have a virtual altar here at Liveprayer.com where every day over 40,000 people come via their email prayer requests with their hurts and pains, with their needs great and small, looking for the Lord to touch them. At the end of every Devotional, right below my signature line is: “If I can help you in any way you can contact me through my personal email at bkeller@liveprayer.com.” That is the invitation for people who are in need to “come to the altar” and bring their needs to the Lord.

Likewise, each night on the TV program, the bulk of the program is allowing people to call in with their prayer requests, making that program literally an electronic altar for people to come and find answers, hope, and encouragement in their time of need. Those who can’t get through are given the opportunity to email their prayer requests so that everyone who watches is able to take that step of faith and seek the Lord’s help in their life.

I love you and care about you so much. I want to encourage you today to never hesitate to come to this virtual altar that is literally open 24/7/365. God has raised up Liveprayer not just to bring the Truth of His Word and the hope and love of Christ into people’s lives each day through the Internet and on secular television, but so that you have a place to come in your time of need. It is not a matter of can God meet your needs, can God bless you, it is a matter of do you have the faith to believe God will meet your needs and the faith to believe God will bless you.

As I do at the end of each service I preach, as I do at the end of every Daily Devotional, as I do on my TV program each night, I want to invite you to come to the altar today. This virtual altar is your point of contact for your faith to connect with God. I am here at this virtual altar this morning, waiting to pray with you, pray for you, and stand in agreement with you for your needs today.

If you are hurting, looking for answers, need the Lord’s strength, Jesus is waiting for you today. Waiting for you to take that step of faith and call out to Him. He loves you, cares about you, and wants to put His arms of love around you today. Come and bring your burdens to Jesus today at this virtual altar.

ARE YOU 100% CERTAIN WHERE YOU WILL SPEND ETERNITY? The fact is you will die one day. At that moment, you will either spend eternity with the Lord or be cast into everlasting darkness forever separated from God your Creator. To know for certain you will be forever with Jesus, go to: http://www.liveprayer.com/plan.cfm

Making Your Relationship with Jesus Your Own

(Deuteronomy 14:3, John 1:12, Romans 9:26, Galatians 3:29)

***DAILY PERSONAL PRAYER FOR YOU: Father, bless me this day to have the courage to stand up for YOUR TRUTH in my daily life. Give me boldness to proclaim YOUR TRUTH when I am with those who mock and demean our faith in Christ and for following the teachings of the Bible. No matter what they may say, let me be not afraid to stand for you. In Jesus name…AMEN!

Making your relationship with Jesus your own. Each person comes to know Christ in their own and unique way. One of the biggest problems I deal with each day is people who have accepted Christ as their Savior, but don’t really have a close, intimate, personal relationship with Him. I submit to you today that a large percentage of Christians, people who are saved and going to Heaven, look at being a Christian the same way they look at being part of the Tuesday-night bowling league. It is part of their life, it is not their life.

Today, I am going to share with you one of the most critical Devotionals God has led me to write in 8 years. For many, it will give you an entirely new look on what being a Christian really means. Most of all, I pray today that for those who read these words, today will be the day that the “lightbulb goes off,” and you understand that being a Christian is about having a real and vibrant and personal relationship with Jesus. Today, I want to help you learn how to make your relationship with Jesus, your own.

I am sure many people right now are very puzzled about what I am talking about, while others are thinking this is an elementary message. Yes it is foundational, but it is also the very essence of what being a follower of Christ is really all about. You see, most people get saved and it is often years later, sadly in many cases never, that they learn what having a personal relationship with Jesus is really all about. Just like God created each of us in a unique and special way, each person has their own unique and special relationship with Jesus.

My friend, you can’t have your mother’s relationship with the Lord, you can’t have your father’s relationship with the Lord, you can’t have your friend’s relationship with the Lord, you can’t have your spouse’s relationship with the Lord, you can’t have your pastor’s relationship with the Lord, YOU HAVE TO HAVE YOUR OWN RELATIONSHIP WITH THE LORD! Each person has got to find their own personal relationship with Christ!!!

This is why discipleship is so critical. After a person makes the commitment of their heart and life to the Lord by faith, it is imperative that they find someone to mentor them, to guide them in their new-found faith. A person who gets saved and is not discipled is no different than a baby that is born and then left on the floor of the birthing room. A person who gets saved has come to that place in their life where they acknowledge they are a sinner, that they need a Savior, and that Jesus Christ is the One who died for their sins. By putting their faith and trust in Him, their sins will be forgiven and they have the promise and assurance that when this brief life is over they will be with Him forever.

It is not their fault. They don’t know any better. All they know is that once they were lost and now they are found, that once they were once blind and now they see. However, beyond that, unless someone tells them what to do next, they simply go back to living their life as before. Let me add that so many churches are to blame. They do a great job of raising millions to build new buildings, but do virtually NOTHING in bringing the lost to Christ or discipling new Believers. Millions of people sit in the pews of churches all across our nation every Sunday who have made the commitment to accept Christ into their heart and life by faith, but have been frozen at that point in their spiritual growth for 1, 5, 10, even 50 years!!!

Again, it is not their fault. There needs to be a shepherd to lead them. Someone to teach them how to walk with Christ. Someone to teach them how to grow in their faith. Someone to guide them how to make their faith real in their daily life. Someone to encourage and challenge them to rise up and be the man or woman of God they have been called to be. Jesus said that the people are like sheep. Without a shepherd to lead them, the sheep will simply wander aimlessly and end up lost, confused, with no direction or purpose. We have too many weak and ineffective pastors, so it is no wonder why we have so many weak and ineffective Christians!

So how do you have a real relationship with Jesus? First, you have to realize that your relationship with the Lord is like any other relationship in your life. You have to work at it, you have to commit time, effort, and energy into it. You only get out of a relationship what you put into it. That holds true for your relationship with the Lord. To have a meaningful relationship with the Lord, you MUST spend time with the Lord each day. You do that in prayer, talking to Him and letting Him talk to you. You do that by reading the Word, another way the Lord will speak to you. Remember, the more time and energy you put into your relationship with the Lord, the better that relationship will be and the greater part of your life it will become.

Second, our relationship with the Lord is literally 24/7/365. What that means is that your relationship with Christ is continual and part of every second of every day. This is a key area many people fail to comprehend. They treat their relationship with the Lord like their relationship with their favorite Aunt who you might see once a week or so. People go to church for an hour on Sunday to “be with Jesus,” but forget about Him until the next time they go to church. When you accept the Lord as your Savoir by faith, you are literally giving Him your very life. At the moment you are saved, the Holy Spirit indwells you and God is literally living in you. The Lord has promised to never leave you nor forsake you, He is with you always.

Lastly, very few people will admit it, so let me say it for you. It is weird having a personal, intimate, daily relationship with someone you can’t see! You can see, touch, communicate with your parents, your siblings, your spouse, your friends, but Jesus is invisible. Those who mock the Lord and Christians laugh at our “imaginary friend.” Let me tell you this day that Jesus is alive and well! He lives in you and you can feel His presence in your heart and life just as much as anyone else you are with. You CAN talk to Him, and He will talk to you. Jesus is real and Jesus is alive!!!

The same Jesus who was born in Bethlehem’s manger, the same Jesus who preached and prophesied and worked miracles, the same Jesus who gave His life on the cross for the sins of all mankind, the same Jesus who God raised from the dead on the third day…IS THE VERY SAME JESUS THAT IS ALIVE TODAY AND SITTING AT THE RIGHT HAND OF GOD THE FATHER AND DESIRES TO HAVE A PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH YOU!!!

I love you and care about you so much. I want to encourage you today in your relationship with the Lord. It is not a questions of does Jesus want to have a relationship with you. After all, God created us to have fellowship with Him. It is a question of do you want to have a relationship with Jesus. If you have accepted Him into your heart and life by faith that means you do have a relationship with the Lord, an everlasting one. It is a matter of making that relationship with the Lord real now during this life, making it your own.

That is why you have to invest the time, effort, and energy into your relationship with the Lord each day. That relationship can be as special as you want to make it and will grow and become more special to you over time. Pray, communicate with the Lord and let Him talk to you Read the Bible, and let the Lord speak to you through His Word. Never forget that the Lord is literally with you 24/7/365 and take advantage of His presence. Jesus is real, His love for you is real, and His desire to have a personal, intimate relationship with you is real.

I will be praying for you today. Praying that today you will realize that Jesus loves you and loves you so much that He died for your sins. He gave His very life so you could escape the eternal punishment you deserve. How mind boggling is it that this same Jesus wants to have a personal relationship with YOU! I pray that you will take advantage of this incredible opportunity and begin today to start building that relationship with the Lord. As I tell you often, the only thing we will take from this life into eternity is our relationship with the Lord. He will be your friend now and for all eternity!!!

In His love and service,

Your friend and brother in Christ,

Bill Keller

The Fruits of your Prayers and Sacrifice!

(Revelation 12:11)

***DAILY PERSONAL PRAYER FOR YOU: Dear Lord, thank you for another day of life! Even though this is a special day in the life of your ministry here at Liveprayer, let us never to forget that EVERY DAY is a special day since it is a gift from you! Please let me never take one day, one hour, one minute of this precious life for granted and may I always honor you with my life! In the name of Jesus I pray…AMEN!

They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony” – (Revelation 12:11 NIV)

Several times a year, I LOVE to take the opportunity to share with you a sampling of some of the incredible, powerful, and moving testimonies we receive every day of how God is working miracles in people’s lives. I never lose sight of the fact that even though over 2.5 million people worldwide subscribe to the Daily Devotional. Each one is a real person, with real needs, and an eternal soul Christ gave His very life for!

***It is the prayers and generous sacrifice of our friends who make this possible for so many in their hour of greatest need. As we are in the final days of the month, since it took us several weeks into January to finally cover the balance of our December shortfall, we still have $40,000 of our $65,000 monthly internet and TV operations to go. We desperately need to cover $20,000 of that immediately. $9,000 today and $11,000 by Monday. A week or so ago, one dear friend stepped up with a special gift of $15,000, just as every month for 17 years several dear friends have answered the call to insure Liveprayer was there for those people worldwide who needed a place to come for prayer and counsel in their hour of need.

***PLEASE, pray about being one of two people I need today, one who can help me with the $9,000 I need today, and another who can help with the $11,000 I need Monday. If you can direct deposit the funds into our Wells Fargo account or FedEx your gift, email me and I will get you the information you need. Obviously you can put your gift on your credit card or through Paypal via the Liveprayer.com website. Two people to take that stand and make a commitment to God’s work here that dozens of friends over the years have made. God has blessed some of our friends in this season of their life to be able to take that stand and make that sacrifice I need today and Monday!!!

Yes, I am grateful that day after day God is using the efforts here at Liveprayer to reach into millions of lives all over the world, but what I am most grateful for is that we are able to respond to and minister to each individual who comes to us for prayer. Liveprayer is much more than just a one-way blast into cyberspace or over television. We are as personal to each individual who comes to us for prayer as their local pastor or priest.

I realize EVERY PERSON who reads these Praise Reports today is going through something in their life. I want you to know that no matter how great or small your need may be, our God is able to meet you at the very point of that need and give you His strength, His hope, and His answers. Nothing you are going through today is too small or too large for God. Let me encourage you today to turn to the Lord. He is there, waiting with outstretched arms to comfort you and give you His strength and peace in the midst of whatever battle you may be facing.

The Bible teaches that God is no respecter of persons. What that simply means is what God did for someone else, God will do for you. So I pray as you read these Praise Reports that you will be encouraged and have your faith stirred, knowing that YOUR miracle, YOUR answer, is just a prayer away!!!

Original email we received: Subject: my grandson may be dying please pray for him. “Dear Bill, Please pray for my 34 year old grandson who has been in the hospital for several weeks with failing liver and kidneys due to his alcoholism. He has shown a tiny glimmer of improvement just today. His kidneys are producing but he has a very long way to go. Thanks for your internet Live Prayer Ministry. My son David brought you to my attention and I am now reading your messages quite regularly. Keep up our wonderful Lords work. It is very obvious that He has his hand on you. PTL. ”

Follow-up email: “Dad, I was cleaning up my old emails tonight and had to save this one. December 4th was the day Mark began to turn around. You replied to Bill Keller December 8th to thank him for his prayers. We didn’t know at the time if Mark would continue to get well. I hope you have updated Bill on Mark’s miraculous progress. I’ll never forget the day that you sent me this original email. After 23 days of being told he would die this was the very first day we had any small glimmer of hope. I think one out of 2 dozen test results stabilized while the rest continued to worsen. (Some of the doctors didn’t have any hope at this point but we did.) Mark looked just great today. Better than he has in years. God is all over this! Thanks for your prayers!”

“I want to start out by saying…Praise God…I”ve written to you so many times…and you’ve prayed for me and my small business…today…I want to tell you that in this last month…everything seems to have turned around for the better…yes…thank God….we were almost to the point of having to close, but then…as my right hand girl puts it. The windows of Heaven seem to just open up…The young people who work for me…they have been through all these bad times with me..and they can attest to the fact that God is responsible for all the good that is happening now…when we were at the end of what we could do…then God stepped in and brought miracles…absolute financial miracles This is the first in many months that I’ve had the resources to pay all the bills….to me the greatest thing about all of this is…we all know that our Lord and savior has provided….”

“Thank you so much for helping me find Jesus. Can you please send me the information you mentioned in your email.”

“Hi, I’m a 19 year old Bahamian woman. I just had a baby so I’m up frequently through the night . One night when I woke up to feed my baby, my channel happened to be on ABC. That is how I found out about your show. I was so moved and impressed that I now wake up every night at one (1) just to watch your show.”

“I have asked you for prayer 3 times and the latest is that last wk. the Lord answered this prayer for finances. The Lord answers your prayers within a short period of time. These are needs that seem impossible to us…yet we know that with the Lord, nothing is impossible to him. We are ever grateful to you and the Lord.”

“Thank you so very much. After I sent this to you last night, I felt better almost immediately and slept very well, which was pretty amazing and certainly unexpected. I was so hoping that I would have a reply when I checked my email tonight and it was there. Also after I sent my email to you, ideas came to me on ways to redeem myself, serve Christ and help others, but with a confidence I have never felt before. Your TV ministry is working miracles. I have been struggling with this for many years and the answer was too simple. Had I ever felt I could approach a minister I would have been able to deal with this so many years ago. I always thought that once you committed a sin of one of the ten commandments you could never be forgiven. It will take some time I think to achieve complete forgiveness of myself with the events of my past, but at least I am now looking forward to attending service without crying!”

“Hi Mr. Keller. My name is M, 17 years old from North Carolina. I just wanted to thank you for your dedication to Jesus by never failing to do His work through the daily devotional. I started reading them every day about a month ago and they have really challenged me to live for Jesus better in my own life. I don’t know if you will actually be reading this or not because you must get like a billion e-mails a day, but i just wanted to let you know that because of your work, and the people who help you, my life has gotten back on track.”

“Thank you so very much for your prayers. God has again provided for me. He helped me find a way to pay my seriously past due rent thru a tax refund. He gave my landlord an understanding & patient heart to wait until I get the money. He provided food for me to feed my family and He has eased up my wife’s pains. He has provided for me and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your thoughts prayers and consideration of my situation.”

“..you went to see my mother in the rehab center on gandy in june just before her death …that was a real blessing .and she loved it …when i went to see her the following sunday she was lit up with joy …”

“Thank you for your hard work and dedication. You have been such an inspiration to me. You are the reason I went back to church after rejecting God for over 8 years. Someone mysteriously sent me your daily prayer devotional and it was in God’s perfect timing and I have been faithful ever since (about 3 years now). Praise God for that day!!”

“Yesterday afternoon I asked for prayers that I find a lawyer for my brother. Within 2 hours I found a lawyer in the area, that I could afford, and he agreed to take his case! I am so thankful! God bless you for your prayers.”

“Thank you so much for everyone’s thoughts and prayers. The mass was benign! The surgery went as well as we could have hoped. They did not have to perform a hysterectomy so we still have the possibility of having children. She is now healing. Praise God!”

“On the 10th of February 2006 I joined Live Prayer. I’ve asked you for a prayer and you have answered me by mail. Ever since then my life has changed. I am writing you this mail to thank you and thank Our Creator. He has faith in me and in return I want give all my faith to God. Thank you Mr. Keller for your devotion and prayers. I was lost and now I am found again. Your prayer saved me from thoughts and things I shouldn’t be doing or thinking. May God bless you in your ministry.”

“God answered our prayers, I had my scholarship endorsed. Surely Our God is not deaf nor blind to hear the prayers of his children. I pray that God will also bless your ministry.”

“Dear Brother Bill, You have been greatly inspirational to me for a long time. I have been in agreement with all you’ve said in all the time that I’ve received devotionals, and my faith has increased greatly. When my son was hit by a vehicle more than two years ago, I asked for prayer from you and all at liveprayer. My son survived when, according to the material world, he should have died. Your prayers, along with many, many others, I am confident is what helped. God heard.”

“Thank you so much for your Daily Devotionals. I am a Christian from Zimbabwe in Africa southern region . I am greatly inspired daily by your messages and now the whole family looks forward to your devotionals each day. I think my husband will be revived in his Faith soon. Thank you so much!!!”

“Thank you for praying for me. I was in desperate need of a job and i got hired yesterday at a local nursing home. Thanks be to God! Prayer really does work!”

“God has helped me restore my relationship with my wife after all this cheating business. we couldn’t be happier. God has taken something horrible and worked it for good. Thank you for your prayers!!”

“Hi Bill, A few days ago I asked for prayer for getting a shower every single day. Let me back up, I’m a quadriplegic in a motorized wheelchair and wear diapers so, I really needed to get bathe every single day. I was sort of scared to report her but, I did and somehow my nurse spoke with her and now, I’m getting bathe at least once a day without a hassle. This may not seem like a big deal to you but, it’s a miracle to me!”

“My wife has returned to me after a long separation. Praise God!”

“I have read the prayer and am requesting information for starting my new life with Christ. Thank you for your uplifting Harry Potter Story and the chance to say this prayer of confession and invitation to Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Thank the Lord and thank you for your prayers. God granted me tremendous favor with IRS!!! There is nothing impossible for our God”

“As a testimony to Jesus and an encouragement to you, I used parts from 2 of your recent devotionals and preached on, “The saddest words in the bible–I never knew you” and 26 boys came forward showing fruit of repentance and were saved. I also use your devotionals in my SS class. Thank you for your ministry.”

“I’ve subscribed to your daily devos for over 6 years now, and I just wanted to say that through the changing of seasons in life, and through the tough lessons learned as well as the mountaintop experiences, your steadfast grip on and passion for His truth has been a constant in my life. Thank you for your servant leadership, your humility and your willingness to go out of the realm of comfort to establish more for the Kingdom!”

“i have really been blessed by your daily devotional and in a very long time i haven’t even prayed but after i subscribed to liveprayer my life has taken a dramatic change.i am married and i am pregnant with a child. if i had not read your guide on abortion i would have been having one but thanks alot.i’m going to have the baby and God taught me that the child is a blessing and the ability to carry a baby is a gift from God for he let us partake in creation.are we not blessed? thank you pastor keller”

“God has answered the prayer for finding a job. I start next Monday at 8am (eastern time) for the job I interviewed for yesterday. Thank you so much for your prayers and please continue to pray for me as I start my new job.”

“I wanted you to know that I have accepted Jesus Christ into my life today. I am going to let him lead me. I have thanked him for bringing people like you into my life.”

What more is there to say other than PRAISE GOD and TO HIM BE ALL GLORY AND HONOR FOR HE ALONE IS WORTHY!!! Let me close by sharing with you that these and the thousands of Praise Reports we get every week are due to those who faithfully pray for me and this ministry each day, in addition to those who God moves and are faithful and obedient to make the sacrifice to financially support the work God is doing each day here at Liveprayer. Without your prayers and support Liveprayer would not exist!!!

For those who give, let me tell you that because of your faithfulness and obedience to God you are making a difference in the very real lives of people all over this world every day. You are storing up treasures in Heaven, far more valuable than whatever earthly treasures you have sacrificed. Some people get upset that I share our needs and challenge people to give. I will NEVER apologize for asking you to help me reach the lost and hurting with the Truth of God’s Word and the hope and love of Christ.

God is doing something special through Liveprayer, and based on the doors He has opened up for us we are on the verge of reaching tens of millions of more people each day while becoming a bright beacon of light in the secular marketplace for Biblical Truth and faith in Jesus Christ.

I love you and care about you so much. We thank God daily for the opportunity to be here for so many who are battling with the problems of life. We will continue to do all we can to bring each person who comes to us hope and encouragement and stand with them for the answers they need in their lives. Are you hurting today? Do you have needs today? Know that I am here to pray with you, for you, and believe God for your needs. Never forget, HE IS ABLE!!!

In His love and service,

Your friend and brother in Christ,

Bill Keller

A Call for Men of God to Step Up and Fight!

(1 Samuel 17)

***DAILY PERSONAL PRAYER FOR YOU: Dear Lord, this nation is under your judgment for our sin, wickedness, and rebellion. Help me to be courageous as I stand for you in these perilous times. Use me as a beacon of your light in the darkness of our world today. Though our enemies surround us, the world around me curses you, help me to stand for your Truth that will ultimately defeat the lies of satan. May the evil of this world become so apparent, people will begin to bow their knee to you in repentance knowing YOU are their only hope and only answer! In the name of Jesus…AMEN!!!

A call for men of God to step up and fight! Goliath, the champion warrior of the Philistines had challenged the army of Israel to a one-on-one battle. If the warrior for Israel defeated Goliath, then the Philistines would become the servants of Israel. However, if Goliath was victorious, than Israel would become the servants to the Philistines. As Goliath mocked and taunted the army of Israel, the Bible says, “On hearing the Philistine’s words, Saul and all the Israelites were dismayed and terrified.” The fact is, there was nobody in the Israeli army who was willing to accept the giant’s challenge, and it was looking like he would win by default because nobody would fight him.

Of course we know that God had a warrior to face Goliath. His name was David. He wasn’t a mighty man of war. As a matter of fact, he wasn’t a warrior at all, he was a shepherd boy. But he knew God and was appalled that with all of the great men of war who were in the army of Israel, not one was willing to accept the challenge of the heathen Goliath. So David confidently went to King Saul and told him that he would go onto the battlefield and take on the Philistine giant. The rest of the story is well known, as David, armed with only his slingshot and a few pebbles, went out in the name and power of the God of Israel and slew Goliath.

We also have one of my favorite passages of the Bible that I have preached on many times during the years. That classical confrontation in 1 Kings 18 between the prophet of God, Elijah, and the prophets of Baal. The man of God defeated the tools of satan by confronting them, challenging them, and meeting them head on. I tell you often that the only way God is defeated is when men of God fail to step up! I’ve always wondered, where were the religious leaders of Israel during this confrontation with the prophets of Baal? Why was it this virtually unknown prophet who had to confront, expose, and defeat these false prophets?

I have no doubt the Jewish religious leaders were doing what most of today’s Christians leaders are doing. Rather than confronting evil, going out on the battlefield in the name of the Lord to defeat the false prophets of the world, they are too busy building monuments of brick and mortar to themselves, preaching to the choir in the safety and comfort of their churches, and living a luxurious life full of the temporal pleasures of this world. They are more focused on building their own kingdom than God’s. Instead of fighting the false prophets, they might actually be in bed with them if it advances their earthly goals and aspirations.

I have been sickened for the past 2 weeks, literally 24/7, as the world’s largest Christian TV network has been running a non-stop beg-a-thon. With over a billion in cash, real estate, and television assets, they parade one Christian TV superstar after another, who look in the cameras and pervert the Scriptures to induce people to “sow their seed,” with the implied promise that they will be wealthy if they will just write a check to the network. Despite paying millions annually for air time, these high profile preachers have to come and prostitute themselves, since their own empires are dependent on them being able to fleece those who watch that network’s programs.

Sadly, this network refuses to invest any of their billions in the marketplace right here at home to reach the 99% of the people who will never once turn on their programming, many who will die and end up in hell because nobody thought they were worth preaching to since they aren’t the target audience who will send in a “love offering,” buy a book or CD, or pay to come to an event.

How else do you explain the fact that we have more churches in this country than ever before. We have more Christian TV, radio, publishing, and music than ever before. We have more ministries of every kind than ever before. Yet at the same time our culture and society is in spiritual freefall. We legally slaughter over 4,000 innocent babies every 24 hours in this nation. Pornography and gambling are available to anyone at any time. Sex has been abused and perverted in every way man has been able to dream up. There is no more restraint to sin. People openly worship every false god and idol the world has created.

How do you explain this paradox? The heathen giant Goliath is out on the battlefield, mocking, taunting, and cursing the followers of Christ. Those who serve satan wake up and perpetrate their evil each day virtually unopposed. Most Christian leaders are looking after their own interests behind the safety of the four walls of the church. Most of the soldiers in Christ’s army are in their tents “dismayed and terrified,” leaving the army of satan on the battlefield unopposed. MY FRIEND, SATAN IS WINNING BECAUSE HE IS FIGHTING VIRTUALLY UNOPPOSED!!! THE ENEMY IS WINNING BY DEFAULT!!!

I love you and care about you so much. I love what Elijah told the people of Israel on Mt. Carmel. He said, “How long will you waver between two opinions? If the LORD is God, follow him; but if Baal is God, follow him.” I echo his words today. How long will you waver between two opinions? If the LORD is God, follow him; but if Baal is God, follow him. I have made my stand for Christ and am not hiding behind the four walls of the church, but am on the battlefield, on the front lines battling satan for the souls of men. That is where you will find me until the Lord calls me home. Where are you today???

In His love and service,

Your friend and brother in Christ,

Bill Keller

(1 Corinthians 11:23-34)

***DAILY PERSONAL PRAYER FOR YOU: Dear Lord, please be with the families who have lost loved ones in the recent weather tragedies across our nation, as well as those who have lost their homes, businesses, and have had their lives turned upside down. I ask that you be with them in a special way during this difficult time as you strengthen and comfort them. Guide them through this time of turmoil and give them your peace and blessings as they move forward. We ask this in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus…AMEN!

Communion. A while back on my TV program, I dealt with the whole issue of communion. Communion is that wonderful act of remembering the sacrifice Jesus made as He literally gave His life for the sins of all mankind. I was actually shocked in looking through my Devotional archives to realize in nearly 17 years, this was one issue I had rarely centered a Devotional around. I have talked about communion many times over the years, but rarely did a complete Devotional just on communion. Shame on me! Especially with all the confusion and poor teaching about this wonderful time when a follower of Jesus Christ fulfills the command the Lord gave to His followers to remember Him by partaking of the bread and wine, re-enacting that moment He shared with His disciples in the Upper Room during the Last Supper.

When we’re dealing with anything, our final authority in all matters is the Bible. The primary scripture that deals with communion is found in Paul’s first letter to the Church of Corinth, in the 11th chapter. This passage refers back to the words of Jesus on the night of the Last Supper with His disciples. On that night, our Lord broke the bread and said, “This is my body which is broken for you. This do in remembrance of Me.” After dinner was over, Jesus took the cup and told His disciples, ” This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.” You see, Jesus knew what was about to happen. Jesus knew that in just a few hours He would be going to the cross to shed His precious blood and give His life as the one-time, perfect sacrifice for the sins of the world.

What Jesus did that night was give all of those who would follow Him a way of remembering His finished work on the cross. You know we’re coming upon the Easter season. It’s that time of year Believers worldwide will reflect on the great sacrifice Christ made for us. We remember the Last Supper. We remember that time in the Garden of Gethsemane where he would be betrayed by Judas. We remember his trial before Pontius Pilate. We remember how our Lord was beaten, scourged, mocked, spat upon, and eventually nailed to the cross where He hung and died. The fact is, we need to remember Christ’s sacrifice for us more than just at Easter. That is the wonderful thing about communion. It allows us to take time and reflect, to remember the price Jesus paid for our salvation.

One of the controversies regarding communion is how often a Believer should participate in this act of remembrance. Jesus simply said to do it in remembrance of me, and even used the word “often.” The Bible doesn’t give us a specific time period, once a day, once a week, or once a month. It really becomes an issue each Believer needs to pray about and let the Holy Spirit guide you. Most churches have communion once a month. I know of some churches who observe communion every week. The Roman Catholic church celebrates communion at every mass. Again, there is no Biblical mandate how often to take communion. My personal belief is that every Believer should take communion at least once a month to never go too many days without remembering the price Christ paid for our salvation.

Another controversial issue surrounding communion is who is supposed to take communion. In most churches, everyone present is invited to take communion. That is WRONG! The Bible is very clear regarding who should and should not take communion. Communion is an act of remembrance for those who placed their faith in Jesus Christ. Communion is not something a nonbeliever should participate in. A nonbeliever has no relationship with Christ, so the observance of communion is a meaningless exercise to that person. The bread and wine that represent the body and blood of Christ have no special significance to a person who has not given their heart and life to the Lord.

I’ve had the honor of preaching many times over the years when communion was being served. I make it clear that communion is a time for those who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ to examine themselves, repent of their sins and ask God to forgive them of their sins before they partake of the bread and wine. One of the reasons I love communion is that it is the perfect opportunity to allow people who aren’t Believers in Christ to accept the Lord as their Savior by faith. There’s no better time to give people an invitation to know Jesus than at the time of communion. After making the decision to accept the Lord, they can then partake of the bread and wine and understand the incredible sacrifice Jesus made for them when He shed His blood and gave His life for their sins, so that they might be able to receive God’s gift of everlasting life.

Let me share this with you. You don’t have to be in church to take communion. I’ve taken communion dozen of times in my office. I get a cup with some grape juice to represent Christ’s blood. I’ll take some bread to represent His body. I sit down with my Bible and read some of those great passages in the Gospels about Christ’s crucifixion, and I take communion. Listen, you don’t need a pastor or priest to give you Communion. Communion is an act of remembrance for Believers in Jesus Christ. You don’t need a pastor or priest to stick a wafer or piece of bread in your mouth. You don’t need a pastor or priest to give you a cup of wine or grape juice. You can take communion at home, in your office, anywhere. It’s an act of remembrance each follower of Christ was asked by our Lord to do to remember Him!

It is a time for those followers of Jesus Christ to remember the price He paid for our salvation, why we are able to be the recipients of God’s gift of everlasting life. Yes, it’s a great experience when you are with a body of Believers in a church and you walk up and the pastor gives you the bread and the cup. Yes, it’s wonderful to be able to share that experience in a corporate setting with other Believers. But you can take communion anywhere, and you don’t need a pastor or priest since this is a time for personal reflection. It’s a time of remembrance. That is why you shouldn’t go more than 30 days without taking communion since it a reminder of what our faith is all about. Jesus Christ went to the cross, gave His body as a one-time sacrifice and shed His blood for the remission of sins. That is something every Believer should never forget and taking communion often is important.

Now, let me share one last issue that pretty much is only an issue in the Roman Catholic Church. It’s the man made tradition of transubstantiation where that church erroneously believes that at the time of communion, the wafer is transformed into the literal Body of Christ and the cup of wine is transformed literally into His blood. So when a Catholic goes to the altar to take communion from the Priest, they believe they are literally partaking of the body and blood of Christ. Again, it is a man-made tradition without any Biblical support. The bread or wafer, the wine or juice, are simply SYMBOLS of the body and blood of Christ, not the literal body and blood of Christ!

*Note: To all my Roman Catholic friends. I am VERY aware of the attempts to use certain passages of the Bible to support this man made tradition of the RC Church. So please, don’t send me links and cut and paste postings on why this belief is supported by Scripture, since it is not.

I love you and care about you so much. Communion is an act of remembrance every Believer should do on a regular basis. It is an act only Believers are to participate in. Not children. Not the unsaved person you brought to church. Believers! Communion is an act of remembrance. How can a nonbeliever remember something he or she doesn’t believe in? Unfortunately most pastors absolutely miss this great opportunity to invite people to come to know Jesus before offering communion. There is no better opportunity in the world to invite someone to know Christ than at the time you are extending an invitation to communion. It gives you the perfect opportunity to explain WHY a person needs Jesus.

I pray today that you will not ever let more than 30 days pass without taking communion. I believe it is a very important part of our faith and spiritual journey. It is the foundation of what our faith is all about. I don’t care if you have been saved 10 minutes or 80 years, all followers of Christ need to reflect and remember what our Lord did for us. Even more important, Christ TOLD US to do this “oft” in remembrance of Him. For the Christian, communion is a very holy, somber, special time of reflection both on our life and the sacrifice our Lord made for us. May you be strengthened and challenged each time you partake of the bread and wine, remembering that Jesus gave His very life for us, so how can we do anything less for Him?

In His love and service,

Your friend and brother in Christ,

Bill Keller

Remain True to the Faith

(Acts 14:22)

***DAILY PERSONAL PRAYER FOR YOU: Dear Lord, help me to stand strong in these difficult days. I know that in the end, YOU…and YOU alone will have the final word. Give me boldness and courage to stand for you as evil abounds. In the name of Jesus I pray..AMEN!!!

“…strengthening the disciples and encouraging them to remain true to the faith. “We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God,” they said.” Acts 14:22

Remain true to the faith. Along our journey of faith, God knows when we need encouragement, when our flesh is weak and we need to be challenged to press on. I am no different than you or any other man. I have my times of weakness, my moments of doubt, those days when the battles are simply too fierce. Satan is only too happy to seize those moments as he did when Jesus was in the wilderness for 40 days and nights. He comes to tempt me, acting as my friend who is concerned about my well being, giving me all the justification I need to take my eyes off the prize. This is how satan will come to you as well. Listen to me carefully. SATAN IS A LIAR! HE IS NOT OUR FRIEND! HIS GOAL IS TO KILL, STEAL AND DESTROY….YOU AND ME!!!

Several months ago a dear friend sent me an excerpt from the writings of that great preacher and theologian from the 1800’s Charles Spurgeon. As God’s timing is always perfect, it came at a moment when I needed some encouragement. The weight of the work was extremely heavy and the flesh weary that day. I sat at my desk and read Spurgeon’s’ words and tears literally ran down my cheeks as I was read about my life, my battles, my challenges in his poignant words. I have printed out that passage he wrote and keep it with me. I refer to it often since it so perfectly sums up my life. It also perfectly sums up the life of any follower of Christ who is sold out to serve the Lord until their dying breath.

I want to share those powerful words with you today. I pray that they will inspire and encourage you as much as they have me so many days. They really sum up what this journey is all about. There is perhaps no greater challenge we have as followers of Christ than to remain true to the faith. So many over the years have been like Demas who we read about in the Book of Acts. Demas was a man serving God, but decided to turn back to the world. In those moments of temptation I often think back to the words of Peter. When asked by Jesus if he would turn away from the Lord Peter boldly responded in John 6:68, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life!” That is why the child of God presses on, remains true to the faith. To whom shall we go?

Spurgeon writes: “Perseverance is the badge of true saints. The Christian life is not a beginning only in the ways of God, but also a continuance in the same as long as life lasts. It is with a Christian as it was with the great Napoleon: he said, “Conquest has made me what I am, and conquest must maintain me.” So, under God, dear brother in the Lord, conquest has made you what you are, and conquest must sustain you. Your motto must be, “Excelsior.” He only is a true conqueror, and shall be crowned at the last, who continueth till war’s trumpet is blown no more. Perseverance is, therefore, the target of all our spiritual enemies. The world does not object to your being a Christian for a time, if she can but tempt you to cease your pilgrimage, and settle down to buy and sell with her in Vanity Fair. The flesh will seek to ensnare you, and to prevent your pressing on to glory. “It is weary work being a pilgrim; come, give it up. Am I always to be mortified? Am I never to be indulged? Give me at least a furlough from this constant warfare.” Satan will make many a fierce attack on your perseverance; it will be the mark for all his arrows. He will strive to hinder you in service: he will insinuate that you are doing no good; and that you want rest. He will endeavour to make you weary of suffering, he will whisper, “Curse God, and die.” Or he will attack your steadfastness: “What is the good of being so zealous? Be quiet like the rest; sleep as do others, and let your lamp go out as the other virgins do.” Or he will assail your doctrinal sentiments: “Why do you hold to these denominational creeds? Sensible men are getting more liberal; they are removing the old landmarks: fall in with the times.” Wear your shield, Christian, therefore, close upon your armour, and cry mightily unto God, that by His Spirit you may endure to the end.”

I love you and care about you so much. I pray today that you will pray over these powerful words, reading them over and over. They sum up so eloquently the challenge of remaining true to the faith. The challenge to not turn away from serving the Lord after a season to go back into the world. The temptation to indulge the flesh. The lies that the work you do for the Lord is all in vain and makes no difference. The physical battle of fighting weariness and fatigue. The war against apathy and political correctness. These are all very real issues those who serve the Lord must face along their journey through life as they strive to remain true to the faith.

I pray today that these words will challenge and encourage you in your personal journey. It is our steadfastness and perseverance that satan will assail. A Christian does not scare satan, however, a Christian who is steadfast and perseveres no matter what life throws his way is the enemy’s worst nightmare! I hear every day from people who tell me they have followed the exploits of Liverpayer over these many years and have been encouraged by the fact no matter what challenges come our way we keep pressing forward, faithfully serving the Lord and trusting Him each step of the way, and then see the incredible fruit from that steadfastness and perseverance. I try my best daily to set an example for you that Jesus has already won the victory, our responsibility is to simply remain true to the faith!

Your friend and brother in Christ,

Bill Keller

Just Say No

(Genesis 3:6; Proverbs 1:29)

PRAYER FOR YOU: Dear Lord, help me to stand strong in these difficult days. I know that in the end, YOU…and YOU alone will have the final word. Give me boldness and courage to stand for you as evil abounds. In the name of Jesus I pray. AMEN!!!

Back during the Reagan Presidency, Nancy Reagan came out with the infamous campaign against drugs, “Just Say No.” It was simple but powerful since it zeroed in on the fact that we all have the ability to say “no.” This ability to say “no” is something the world has always had a problem with. The “deny thyself no pleasure” mindset is not only straight from the pits of hell, but is embraced and promoted by the media. We live in a culture that makes fun of those who say “no,” a culture that has told the lie long enough and loud enough that people have forgotten they can say NO!

Have you ever been driving down the road and a voice inside told you to make a sharp left into the car next to you? Have you ever been walking in the mall and didn’t like the way the person in front of you looked and you wanted to tell them so? Have you ever been in a meeting at work or a class at school and wanted to start yelling at the top of your lungs? I can guarantee you that everyone reading this today has had some kind of extreme thought to do something completely bizarre, anti-social, potentially lethal, and completely out of character. For however long that fleeting thought was in your head, quickly your brain said NO!

Let’s forget those extreme thoughts we all have from time to time. How about you are out of town on business and are approached by an attractive person of the opposite sex? How about you are working on a deal at work and find a way to overcharge a client in a way they will never know about? How about you are alone at home one evening and get the desire to go look at porn on your computer or the TV? How about being out some night and decide to drive home even though you have had too much to drink? Now we are talking about more realistic choices that most face in their lives. As you are presented with these choices, does your brain say NO? A more important question, do you listen if it does?

The vast majority of the over 40,000 prayer requests we receive each day here at Liveprayer are from people who didn’t say “no.” Again, this prevailing mindset that we have to give in to every pleasure, every urge, is not something new. We see it in the Garden of Eden as Adam and Eve both refused to say “no” when confronted with the opportunity to disobey God. We see it in the very first sin when satan had the thought to be like God and he didn’t say “no” to that thought. Throughout human history man has had a difficult time saying “no.”

Some people have questioned God and why He just didn’t create us to always obey Him. God created us with the free will to make our own choices, otherwise, we would be little more than pre-programmed robots. I can’t tell you why God created us with free will, the ability to obey Him or rebel against Him, but one reason I am certain of is that without free will we would be incapable of loving God on our own. The fact is He is God, our Creator, and we should do our best each day to honor Him with our lives. That means with the choices we have to make each and every day.

Throughout each day, we are all confronted with hundreds, even thousands of choices. Every time we make a choice we have the opportunity to say to God, “I love you!” When you break it down, that is really what we are saying each time we make a choice. We are either saying “I love God,” or “I love myself more than God.” Now listen closely since I am about to expose a great lie of satan. Satan says if you love yourself, don’t deny yourself anything. Don’t forget satan’s stated goals, “to kill, steal, and destroy.”

Satan wants to help you say “no” to God just like he did Adam and Eve because he knows your rebellion to God will hurt you. I have told you before satan is the great justifier. He will always help you justify saying “no” to God. The truth is, God loves you and only wants the best for you. When you say “no” to sin and follow God, you are not only saying “I love you God,” you are also saying you love yourself. The lie of satan is that by saying “no” you are loving yourself when he knows you are actually hurting yourself, but the truth of God is that when you say “no” to sin you are not only honoring God but honoring yourself since our blessings follow our obedience!!!

I love you and care about you so much. I know we live in a world that tells the masses every day to never say “no.” The world teaches that you only live once so don’t ever deny yourself whatever pleasure comes your way. Like all of satan’s lies, that is partly true. We do only live once. However, not all of the pleasure that comes our way is something that will help our life, in many cases it can destroy our life. That is why it is so critical to start each day in prayer, in the Word, so that throughout the day as you are making all of those choices we all make each day, your choices will honor God. Often, to honor God we have to simply say “no.”

I will be praying for you today. Praying that as you go throughout the rest of this day and are confronted with the various choices you have to make, you will have the courage and the strength to say “NO!”

In His love and service,

Your friend and brother in Christ,

Bill Keller
