God is still on the throne

( 1 Kings 22:19 )

God is still on the throne. Probably one of things that comforts me more than anything else during a problem or crisis, is the fact the God is still on His throne. He didn’t get off to take a nap, or go watch sports, or hit the refrigerator. He is there, in total control of all that is going on. That of course begs the question, why does He allow terrible things to happen if He is really on the throne. Remember, God does not cause evil, or encourage it, but does allow it to happen as He did in the case of Job. It was only with God’s permission that the devil was able to do what he did to Job. Why does God allow bad things happen? Men much wiser than me can argue that one. I just accept that because of this sin-filled and evil world we live in they do happen from time to time.

That leads me to the great verse that assures us God will not give us more than we can handle. He knows our breaking point. Those two Truths, God in control at all times, and Him will never give me more than I can handle, get me through the difficult times. Many of you are facing difficulties in your life today. Unexplained problems. Circumstances that seem to be out of hand. Pressures that are becoming intolerable. Now is the very time to make your faith real. Look to God and ask Him to strengthen you, to encourage you, to give you peace. He knows how to make the heavy burdens lighter, the crooked path straight. Don’t become weak when the hard times come, be strengthened by them. Let them be times of testing, and honing, and sharpening your faith.

I love you deeply and care about you. I realize that life can be difficult. I also realize that in those difficult times, we can grow in our faith, we can learn to depend on God, we can become real people of faith. Let the difficult times help you to know God in a deeper, more intimate way. Learn to trust the Truth that He is on His throne in control of all things. Take to heart His promise that He will not give you more than you can bear. Learn how to walk through the storms of life victoriously. Be comforted that He will never leave you, never forsake you, never let you down.

For those of you who are in need of a miracle, don’t forget to stop by our Miracle Center on my website at http://www.liveprayer.com . Either God is real, or He is not!

( Matthew 6:24, 12:30, Mark 9:40 )

Either God is real, or He is not! One of the things that has greatly troubled me recently, is the number of people who say that they believe in God, say that they are a Christian, yet have no problem supporting choices that are clearly defined in God’s Word as sin. My friend, Jesus said it best when He said that “no man can serve two masters”. The Christian faith is not a smorgasbord where you can pick and choose what you like. You can’t claim to have faith in Christ, yet support the things that the Bible speaks against. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A CHRISTIAN MODERATE to
borrow a political term. Either God is real, or He is not.

Let me first clarify what a Christian is. A Christian is a person who has made the personal choice to repent of their sins and ask Jesus into their heart by faith (John 3:16, Romans 10:10, Ephesians 2:8,9). It is your personal faith in Christ that makes you a Christian. The church you belong to cannot save you. Having a priest or pastor baptize you when you were a baby did not save you. Living a good life does not save you. The fact that your parents are Christians cannot save you. Only making the choice to repent of your sins and ask Christ into your heart makes you a Christian.

***If this is something that you have never done, the Bible says that TODAY is the day of salvation. Pray, ask God to open your heart, then click on this link and read what is written: http://www.liveprayer.com/SPlan.html God has made it so easy, but it is a choice that only YOU can make.

Once you have gotten to this point, the next step is that you MUST accept the Bible as God’s inspired, inerrant Word. ***It is IMPOSSIBLE to be a Christian and not accept the Bible as God’s Word. You see, to come to Christ by faith, you have accepted that this is God’s plan to give His creation, which is separated from Him because of their sin, a way to come back into His everlasting fellowship. This is God’s ONLY plan!

That is why faith in Buddha will not save you. That is why faith in Muhammad will not save you. That is why faith in a golden statue will not save you. It is ONLY faith in Jesus Christ that saves you because it was Jesus Christ
who God sent to die for your sins! He was God’s perfect sacrifice to give fallen man a way back into everlasting fellowship with Him. So if you accept THAT,
then you have to accept the ENTIRE BIBLE as God’s inspired, inerrant Word. It can’t
be only partially right!!!

The reason is God cannot lie. The Bible is an all or nothing proposition, it is either ALL true, or NONE of it is true. This is very serious, so please hear what I am saying to you today. You can’t live your faith with one foot in the world, and one foot in the church. You either believe it all, or you don’t really believe any of it. Either God is true, and we can count on EVERYTHING He says, or God is a liar, and we are the most foolish of all people. My friend, there is NO MIDDLE GROUND!!!

This is where so many Christians break down in their life. They simply don’t want to let go of the things of this world. The fact is, this life is only a brief journey anyway. When it is over, the things of this world will be
gone, and the ONLY thing that you will be left with is the fact that you have Christ
in your heart, or you have rejected His love for you. PERIOD.

I love you and care for you so much. I realize that this is difficult for so many of you to read. I already know that there will be thousands of very angry emails about how intolerant I am, how the Christian faith is horrible for excluding so many good people. The fact is, the only thing intolerant about the Christian faith is accepting sin in a person’s life. Would a parent feed their child a plate of garbage to eat? Of course not. Why? Because they love them and know that it would be very harmful to them. When God
says don’t sin, He is saying don’t eat a plate of garbage because it is harmful to you.

As for the Christian faith being exclusionary. That is the FARTHEST thing from the truth. The Bibles says “whosoever believes in Him shall not perish.” Whosoever is potentially EVERYONE. Everyone has the opportunity to accept Jesus Christ into their hearts and accept God’s free gift of everlasting
life. I don’t find that exclusionary, but IN-CLUSIONARY!

I will be praying for you today. Praying above all that you realize how serious it is to make a full and total commitment of your life to the Lord. The fact is, when we ask Him into our hearts, the Bible says that it is no longer our life, but that it belongs to Him. We surrender our life to Him. I realize as much as anyone how unpopular our faith can be to the world that we live in. The sad fact is, much of that world is lost, hurting, and living without ANY hope. They have chosen to reject God and live life the way they want to. That is fine. God has given everyone the free will to make that choice.

Sadly though, no matter how they may appear on the outside, inside they never experience the true joy, peace, and abundance that this life has to offer. As they get older, they start to realize that there has to be more to life, and in their search for God, get caught up in every kind of New Age, crazy
philosophy that exists. What they are REALLY looking for is the peace that ONLY comes from a personal relationship with Christ. As a Christian, you, me, each one
of us, is called to be a light to this dark world that we live in. We can ONLY let our light shine bright when we are living fully, 100% for HIM. If you
believe that God is real, TODAY is the day to make sure your that life reflects that
belief!

In His love and service,
Your friend and brother in Christ,
Bill Keller

A word of encouragement

( Isaiah 41:10, Isaiah 41:13, Isaiah 43:2, Revelation 1:18 )

A word of encouragement. I have a very simple message for YOU today. No matter what you are facing, no matter what you are battling in your life, no matter what your circumstances may look like….YOU HAVE THE VICTORY IF YOUR FAITH IS IN JESUS CHRIST! I don’t care what your issue is today, I want to tell you that YOU ARE VICTORIOUS!!!! You are NOT defeated, you are a
winner. You are NOT losing, you have already won!!! ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE WITH JESUS!!!!

Each person who read these words today is battling something in their life. Some are fighting with finances, others with health problems, others with marital issues, others with problems with your children, still others are dealing with addiction problems. My message for you today is that NO MATTER what your battle is today, God is with you, will not forsake you, and will walk you out of your valley to the mountaintop of victory!!!!!

Too often in our life we focus on the battle, and not the victory. Too often we look only at the circumstances, and not the one who promised us victory over our circumstances. Several of the disciples of Jesus were in a boat one day when a great storm came upon them. As the winds began to blow, the rain began to fall, the sky darkened, ALL they could see was the storm. They became so consumed with their circumstances that they woke up Jesus who was sleeping in the boat, and in their fear, asked Him to help them. Seeing their fear, Jesus in an act of compassion simply made the storm go away. MY FRIEND, THE SAME JESUS WHO MADE THE STORM GO AWAY FOR HIS
DISCIPLES, IS THE SAME JESUS WHO CAN MAKE THE STORM IN YOUR
LIFE GO AWAY!!!

I love you and care about you so much. Jesus is saying to you today, exactly what He said to His disciples those many years ago. Why do you fear? You see,
when you are with Jesus, you don’t have to fear no matter how bad the storm may
look. JESUS WILL ALWAYS HAVE THE FINAL WORD!!!

I want you to know that I will be praying for you today. No matter what the storm may be in your life, no matter what the battle may be, Jesus has already won the victory. I will pray that despite the circumstances you face, that despite the obstacles in your way, despite whatever man may be saying, that your hope and faith today is in Jesus. He will change your circumstances! He will wipe out the obstacles! He will walk you out of the valley and onto the mountaintop!!!! Jesus will lead YOU to victory!

“Fear not , little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.” Luke 12:32

When God repeats Himself

( Romans 15:4 )

When God repeats Himself. One of the things that you have to look for when you read the Bible, is when God repeats Himself. Repetition is one way God is saying to you, “THIS IS IMPORTANT!!!” Since God’s Word is complete, it is within the context of His presentation to us via the Old and New Testaments, that we must study to know His will and plan for our lives. His way of EMPHASIZING a point is through repeating it in several different places. There are days when God leads me to write on a certain issue. Sometimes, it is an issue that I have previously written about and there really is little more to add. Due to the fact that each week we have thousands of new subscribers to the Daily Devotional, the Holy Spirit will lead me to repeat a past Deviational.

The point that I want you to grasp today is this. Many times, I have read a verse of scripture before, and it said one thing. Then, I will read it again on a different day, and based on how God is speaking to my heart, it will say something entirely more profound! It is the same way with these Devotionals. Even though some readers may have seen a certain Devotional in the past, based on where you are at TODAY, it can speak to you in an entirely different way!

There are time when we read a verse of Scripture, and based on where our life is at that exact moment, it says one thing to us. However, if we read that VERY SAME verse 4 months later, depending on where we are at THAT VERY DAY, it may say something entirely new us. Since it is God through the Holy Spirit, and NOT Bill Keller directing the writing of these Devotionals each morning, what you read today may have a VERY DIFFERENT meaning to you 6 months from now…reading the VERY SAME WORDS!!! So don’t ever take each days Devotional for granted, even if you may have read it before!

I love you and care about you so much. One of my desires is that you receive ALL that you can possibly receive from God for your life each day. One way is through His precious Word. Another is through those resources God has placed in your life like this Devotional to encourage you in your day to day journey. The thing that most fail to comprehend is that God’s Word is a LIVING WORD. IT IS ALIVE! It literally lives in your heart and soul. That is why you read a passage of Scripture one day, and a week later, read the very same passage and is speaks to you differently. What you may not pay attention to one day, is the most meaningful verse the next. That is because His Word is ALIVE.

I spend hours each day in prayer, talking to and trying to hear from God. Every morning after my time in the Word and prayer is when I write these Devotionals. I honestly believe that when I am typing, it is not me, but the Holy Sprit that is speaking through me to you. I honestly read a Devotional I wrote 2-3 days later, and often think, “this is good stuff.” The Holy Sprit will respond, “yes, because I WROTE IT!” So know that God can speak directly to your heart, to your life, to your circumstances through these words each day. One way He gets His point across to us, especially those like me with extra thick skulls, is by repetition. God repeats this in His Word ON PURPOSE. Often, God may have you read a Devotional that you saw 6 months ago. Remember, it is NO ACCIDENT. There is a reason for it. God will repeat Himself so that you take notice that THIS is important.

Let me take this opportunity to say a very big THANK YOU to those who were able, and led by God, to send a gift this month to help us continue this great outreach to the world. With only 3 days left this month, we are still $8,200 short of meeting all of our financial commitments. Please take a moment right now and pray, ask God what HE would have you do to help me today. Simply be obedient and give the very best gift that you can today.

If God is leading you to help me finish this month with all of our financial obligations taken care of, you can make a gift on your major credit card on a secure server at my website, http://www.liveprayer.com under the “Donation” button, or you can use PayPal via my email address, bkeller@liveprayer.com , or mail a gift to:

Thank you for standing with me through your love, your prayers, and your generous financial support. We are able to share the hope and love of Jesus Christ with close to 2 million people worldwide every day because you care! I am excited to announce that in 44+ months, we have now had over 35,000 people that we know of accept Jesus Christ as their Savior. THAT is why I come in to work each morning, and why I thank God for YOU every day!!! Together, we are making an impact for the Kingdom of God!!!

May He richly bless you today, and my prayer is that each and every day you will have a hunger for the Word of God. I pray that you will not only have a hunger for the Word of God, but for all that God puts in your life each day, like this Devotional, to give you hope, to encourage you, and guide you to be all that He has called you to be. Pay attention when God repeats Himself!

God -vs- satan

1 Kings 18:21-40

God -vs- satan. God versus satan is like the Super Bowl Champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers playing against the best high school football team in the nation. As good as that high school team may be, they are over-matched in every area and have NO CHANCE to win. There is one scenario however, in which the high school team is able to win. That is if the Bucs don’t show up for the game and lose by a forfeit. If you read the last chapters of the Bible, you know that in the end God will defeat satan and send him into the Lake of Fire for eternity (Rev. 20:10). Until that time, satan is a very real enemy that can only win when God is not present.

Sadly, this world that we live in, our culture, is NOT going to ever get better. The social issues that we fight like divorce, abortion, homosexuality, adultery, fornication, declining morals and ethics, drugs and alcohol, are never going to get better…only worse as time goes on. What has helped to feed this steady decline in our culture is the media. Radio, television, the Internet, movies, music, and publications. What fuels the media is advertising. Satan is the “prince of the power of the air,” and has slowly but surely WON the battle for the media which he uses to feed his lies to the masses worldwide 24/7. Satan has WON the battle in the advertising world which is the fuel the media machine runs on. As each day, each week, each month, each year passes, satan becomes more bold in using the media to fulfill his mission which is to kill, steal, and destroy the lives of people!

The reason satan has won this battle is simple, THERE NEVER WAS A BATTLE! Instead of going head to head with satan, Christians decided to not fight. What Christians have done in the last 40 years is like Moses not trying to cross the Read Sea. What Christians have done in the last 40 years is like David running from Goliath. What Christians have done in the last 40 years is like Stephen keeping his mouth shut. What Christians have done in the last 40 years is RUN FROM satan. We set up our own TV stations and networks, set up our own radio stations and networks, wrote our own books and magazines, made movies and music for ourselves. We decided to NOT FIGHT for the mainstream vehicles that the people of the world are plugged into every day. Instead, we set up our own vehicles that are geared to only reach those who are already in the church. If people outside the church were “accidentally” reached that was fine, but these are vehicles clearly designed to take the message of Christ to the people of Christ and NOT to the world at large in which we live.

Being a huge sports fan, I have always loved I Kings chapter 18. There are lots of rich battles in the OT, like David and Goliath, the children of Israel against the those people who denied the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. But the account in 1 Kings chapter 18 of God versus the prophets of Baal is THE BEST! This was bigger than the Super Bowl. It was literally God -vs- satan. If it was a football game, it would have been 77-0! God wiped satan out. The great lesson here is two-fold. First, the people of God must be bold enough to pit God against satan like Elijah was, and second, God will NEVER lose!

I love you and care about you so much. As you can tell even from these written words, this is something that I have great passion about. We as the people of God have got to become more bold and not be afraid to take God outside the four walls of the church and into this lost and sinful world. Head to head with satan, God will win EVERY TIME! I will give you a small, but perfect example. Every Mon-Fir from 1-2 am EDT I do a “live” television program on the UPN affiliate in Tampa, Florida. Even though this is a Christian program where I pray for people’s needs on the air, I do it on a secular network since that is the audience I am trying to reach. Over 92% of my audience is not saved or in church. They are just normal people, going thru the day to day struggles of life, looking for hope. Each night we have incredible testimonies of people reaching out to God in their time of need and having their lives changed. I have led over 30 people to the Lord, LIVE, on the program. What a great thrill that on the same network that is carrying so many of the negative messages of satan to the world, people are getting saved!!!

My friend, time is short, the trumpet will blow at any moment, what are we waiting for? Yes, we are saved and we know where our eternal home is, BUT WHAT ABOUT THOSE IN THIS WORLD THAT ARE LOST? I will pray for you today to open your hearts to these words today. God is calling YOU to be like Elijah on your job, at school, where you recreate, whatever you do in the normal course of your day. HAVE NO FEAR since we serve a God that will answer by FIRE!!! When we put God against satan, God will win every time. THE ONLY WAY GOD CANNOT WIN IS IF WE ARE AFRAID TO LET HIM! Throughout our daily lives, there will always be opportunities to pit God versus satan. My challenge to you today is this. DON’T run from these opportunities. Be like Elijah and have the courage to stand up and CHALLENGE satan. OUR GOD WILL WIN EVERY TIME!!!

In His love and service,
Your friend and brother in Christ,
Bill Keller

Being a Godly citizen

(Titus 3:1)

Being a Godly citizen. Even though most who read this Devotional are in the United States, the country you live in doesn’t matter. One of our responsibilities as a child of God is to be a Godly citizen of the country we live in. This is accomplished primarily by obeying the laws and honoring those God has placed in leadership. Here are many scripture references that support this: Ecclesiastes 8:2, Matthew 17;27, Matthew 22:21, Romans 13:1, 1 Peter 2:13, 1 Peter 2:14, 1 Peter 2:17, Ezra 7:26, Exodus 22:38, Ecclesiastes 10:20, Acts 23:5, Proverbs 14:34.

For those of us fortunate enough to live in the United Sates or in other democratic countries, we also have the ability to have our voice heard through our vote. Let me just say this. Voting is an incredible right we have,
and it should not be taken lightly. It is one way we can make our voice heard,
and at the same time be the Godly citizen we are to be. If you are not registered
to vote, then pray about it, and get registered.

One of our most powerful ways to be a Godly citizen is through prayer. Pray for your country. Pray for your leaders. Pray for God to bless your country. Also, pray about those things that need to be changed. In the U.S. for instance, we have an incredible problem with abortions, divorce, and how incredibly easy it is to access any sin you can name. As you know, my
philosophy on social change is one heart at a time. There is a certain amount that can be done politically, but real change can only come from God.

A great example was the Prohibition era. Making it unlawful to drink didn’t even slow it down. A great modern day example is the illegal drug crisis we are in. The fact that they are illegal is little deterrent to those who want to use these illegal substances. Again, real change comes one heart at a time. The prayers of God’s people works!

Another way that you can be a Godly citizen is through getting involved in the political process. In a democracy like we have in the United States, it invites people to participate. It gives those so led, the opportunity to give of themselves to help their fellow citizens. Like everything else in this world, sin has perverted the true meaning of public service. In its purist form, it is an act of serving.

Unfortunately, it has deteriorated into a way for some to get rich, acquire power, and fulfill self-serving interests at the expense of the people they are supposed to be serving. However, being involved with pure motives can be an incredible way in which to not only serve your fellow citizens, but God
as well. Not just as someone who holds public office, but those many, many dedicated people it takes in support positions.

I love you and care about you very much. You will be in my prayers. As you go throughout your daily lives, never forget the responsibilities we have to be Godly citizens. Again, the best way we can fulfill that responsibility is by obeying the laws, respecting our leaders, and praying for our leaders and nation. I sense in my spirit that our great land is on the verge of losing much of the blessings God has bestowed upon us these past 200+ years due to our sin and rebellion. We can read clear examples in the bible of how God dealt with the children of Israel when they disobeyed. Even though they were God’s chosen people, He took the hand of blessing from them for their disobedience.

I hear the trumpet sounding its’ warning my friends. Lets us turn from our sin before it is too late. Being a Godly citizen is one way we can make that happen.

Your friend and brother in Christ,
Bill Keller

Gluttony

(Proverbs 25:27)

Gluttony. Eating to excess. In my years of ministry, I could always get the “Amen corner” into my sermons when I preached against homosexuality, preached against the more visible sins. On those occasions when I preached on the sin of gluttony, it usually got very quiet. I realize this will be a difficult read for many today, but that is one reason I am here…to challenge you. Let me say right up front, gluttony IS a sin. God said so. Anything that you do in excess, to your detriment, to the detriment of your ability to serve God, that is ahead of your daily relationship with God is a sin.

I know that most Sundays many people will be sitting down to some incredible feasts. I am not saying you shouldn’t, and I am not saying you should not enjoy food. I believe God gave us food to nourish our body, our taste buds to enjoy food, and eating is part of our life. Gluttony however, refers to eating in excess. I know many fine men and women of God that live tremendous lives and do great work for the Lord. However, this is an area that they struggle with and that is why I bring it to you today.

Like all sin, gluttony can be overcome, not in our own strength, but in His. Like all sin, if you fight this battle, you need a battle plan. God can give you that plan, the strength to carry it out, and the perseverance to get victory. Like in other sins though, the question becomes, do you really want victory? Do you really want to conquer this foe? Do you even recognize that this is a problem in your life?

At this point, you have either accepted through the prompting of the Holy Spirit that this is an issue in your life, or you have realized that this is not something that you battle with. If you are in the latter category, then I would encourage you to pray for those who do fight this battle each day. I have no doubt that you know people in your family, school, workplace, church, that are going through this struggle. Pray for them today. Pray that the Lord would open their eyes and show them this is a problem. Pray that they will have the courage, like anyone who is dealing with a particular sin, to admit it and allow the Lord to walk them to victory.

I love you, care about you, and realize the sensitive nature of this sin like any sin. But there is no use in hiding it or candy-coating the problem.
It is time to recognize it as a problem, and get busy fighting it and letting God
help you to become victorious over this part of your life. If you are struggling
with gluttony today, I will be praying specifically for you. I realize what a
difficult struggle this can be. God is more than able to give you victory. I am
confident that if you take that first step, God can and will, help you overcome this battle with gluttony in your life.

In his love and service,
Your friend and brother in Christ,
Bill Keller
