Tattoos, Piercings and Cosmetic Surgery

(Matthew 23:25-26; Luke 16:15)

***DAILY PERSONAL PRAYER FOR YOU: Dear Lord, thank you for another day of life! Even though this is a special day in the life of your ministry here at Liveprayer, let us never to forget that EVERY DAY is a special day since it is a gift from you! Please let me never take one day, one hour, one minute of this precious life for granted and may I always honor you with my life! In the name of Jesus I pray…AMEN!

One of the reasons that so many get this Devotional each day is because I deal with the issues most in the church run from. Having preached in over 500 churches of all denominational affiliations, I can tell you very clearly that the churches who are doing great things for God, the churches where men and women are growing spiritually and having their needs met, are the churches where the pastor, the Shepherd, does not run from the tough issues or compromise the inspired, inerrant Word of God.

Sadly, the number one reason believers are Biblically illiterate and weak in their faith is because of the pastor of the church they attend. Unfortunately, church politics, being “politically correct”, not wanting to offend people, especially a big giver, play a role in what many pastors say on Sunday morning. THIS SHOULD NOT BE SO!!! The time is too short, the eternal destination of too many people hinge on the man of God sharing the unadulterated Word without compromise.

The issue of tattoos, body piercings, and cosmetic surgery is one I get asked about daily. First, IT IS NOT A SIN TO HAVE A TATTOO, PIERCING, OR TO HAVE UNDERGONE COSMETIC SURGERY! Let us just get that out of the way up front. Nobody is going to hell for getting your belly button pierced, or having a face lift, or getting a cross tattooed on your arm. The fact is, God sees our heart. God judges our heart. It is our HEART that must be pleasing to God, the inside, not the outside. Now let me say this. Use good judgment. Pray. This is not an endorsement of these practices in any way. For those who already have tattoos, piercings, have had cosmetic surgery, that is a past action that you should feel no guilt or shame from.

For those who are considering doing this to your body, let me simply give you this counsel. It will make NO DIFFERENCE to you salvation if you do it or not. However, I do want you to pray and ask yourself why you are doing it. I do want to ask you to pray and chat with the Lord and ask Him if this is something that He would want you to do. I do want to ask you to be honest with yourself and work out in your own heart whether you are doing this for personal reasons, or just to “fit in”.

The fact is, if you are a Christian, a believer in Jesus Christ, you already “fit in”. Your value, your self-worth is in the fact that you are a child of God, NOT a child of this world. If your motives are simply to please this world, or to please those who are in this world, these are wrong motives. The ONLY one you have to please is Jesus Christ! If you are secure in who you are in Christ, and this is simply something that you want to do for you, go for it! All I ask is that you examine your heart, and ask yourself, “Why am I doing this?”

I love you, and care about you so very much. I know many are struggling today, many are going through self-condemnation over this issue. Have peace today. Be free today. Romans 8:1 tells us “Therefore, there is now NO condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus”!!! Amen!!! If you already have tattoos, body piercings, have had cosmetic surgery, there is NO CONDEMNATION for those who are in Christ Jesus!

For those thinking about it, pray. Ask God why you are doing it. Chat with Him about it. Come to a peace about your decision to either do it, or not. I will say that you must factor in that for many you meet, this could be a stumblingblock. But at the same time, it may open doors with those who are lost, who are into this form of self-statement. Let God guide your decision.

So that is why I say pray, and examine your heart and your motives. Most of all know that God is most interested in what is in your heart, on the inside, not the outside. The world sees the outside, only God sees the inside. THAT is what we all must work on each and every day! When you stand before Him on Judgment Day . . . a day we will all face . . . it is not your tattoo He will ask about, or your piercings, or your cosmetic surgery. The only thing He will ask is, “do you know my son Jesus???”

In His love and service,

Your friend and brother in Christ,

Bill Keller

The Evil We Face in Our Lives

(James 1:17)

***DAILY PERSONAL PRAYER FOR YOU: Dear Lord, help me to get through this day and the challenges that I will be facing today. Guide me, strengthen me, and give me wisdom as I make choices throughout this day. Please watch over my family and those I love in this world, and keep them safe. I love you Lord, and depend upon you each moment of each day. Bless me as I go through the day, living my life for your glory. In the name of Jesus I pray…AMEN!

Every time you turn on the television, pick up a newspaper, or go to an online news source, you are confronted with the evil that exists in this world. In dealing with the day-to-day issues of living in this world, the Daily Devotional often focuses on the evil we face in our lives. It is very easy to get so focused on all that is bad in the world, that we forget to take a moment and reflect on all that is GOOD in the world. Does evil exist? Absolutely. However, there is also much GOOD in the world we live in as well.

Sadly, we can fall into that same trap in our own personal lives. It is so easy to spend our time and energy focusing on all that is wrong with our lives. We rarely take the opportunity to sit back and see all that is right with our lives. Because our problems always seem to be before us and dominate our thoughts and prayers, we forget that there is also much good in our life as well. Today, I want to encourage and challenge you to take a few minutes and look at all the GOOD that is in our world and just as important, all of the GOOD that is in your life!!!

In discussing the evil in the world, I have shared with you that the root of evil is the hearts of men who choose to live their lives in rebellion to God. Evil is NOT from God but those who have chosen to rebel against God! The bible tells us, “Every good and perfect gift is from above.” (James 1:17 NIV)

Whatever is good in this world comes from God. Let me put this in a very personal way for you. When you live your life in rebellion to God, you are contributing to the evil in this world. When you live your life in obedience to God, you are contributing to the good in this world. YOU, literally become a vessel of evil or of good.

That is a very heavy statement I just made so I am going to repeat it for you and I want you to take time to meditate on these words today and ask God to help you understand the power and importance of what this means. YOUR LIFE IS EITHER A VESSEL OF EVIL OR A VESSEL OF GOOD. When you live in rebellion to God, you are a vessel of evil. When you live in obedience to God, you are a vessel of good.

I want you to take some time today and really reflect on all that is GOOD in our world. Rather than focusing on all that is bad in the world, I want you to take some time today and simply look at all the good there is around you. Every day people all over the world are coming to know Jesus Christ as their Savior. So many people all over the world give of themselves to help others who are less fortunate. This planet has so many tremendous resources that allow the vast majority of the people to sustain a wonderful standard of life. We have many tremendous scientific and medical advancements that help us enjoy our life.

Most importantly, we have the incredible blessings of God that allow us to not just live our life but live it abundantly. He has given us His Word to guide us and direct us through this journey of life. We have the precious promises in His Word that we can count on to sustain us throughout our life. We have the incredible opportunity to not only have an intimate relationship with our Creator but to know His love for us. We can wake up each morning knowing that our life is not an accident or coincidence but God has a plan and purpose for each of us. My friend, there is SO MUCH good in this world if we will simply take the time to acknowledge it.

I also want you to take some time today to reflect on your own life. Again, it is so easy to focus on what is wrong with our life, we forget to focus on what is right with our life. Because we have to wake up and face the battles with our finances, with our employment, with our marriage, with our children, with our health, or whatever your battles may be, we tend to forget that there is actually much GOOD in our life. My friend, don’t let your problems keep you from your praise. Here we go again. I know many of you just missed that so let me say it again . . . slowly. DON?T LET YOUR PROBLEMS KEEP YOU FROM YOUR PRAISE!!!

I am not saying that your problems aren’t important or that you should just forget your problems. What I am saying is to not let your problems overwhelm you to the point you don’t take the time to give God the praise for all of His blessings in your life each day. We all have problems in our life. That is simply part of life. However, we all have blessings as well. As a matter of fact, we have blessings in our life that we take for granted and don’t even thank God for. That great old hymn said, “Count your many blessings, see what God hath done. Count your many blessings, name them one by one.” You need to take some time today and do exactly what that great hymn writer suggested and COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS!

I love you and care about you so much. It is so easy to fall into the trap of focusing only on the evil in the word, the problems in our life, that we lose sight of all the good in this world we live in and the MANY BLESSINGS God bestows upon us each day. I pray that today you will take a few minutes to reflect on the good in the world and the blessings in your life. God loves you so much. Jesus said, “He came to give life and give life more abundantly.” Sit back and look at all of the good in our world today. Take a few minutes today and reflect on all of the wonderful blessings God has given you.

I want to leave you with the words of our Lord, who just hours before going to the cross told His disciples that in this world they would have trials and tribulations but He also told them, “Be of good cheer for I have overcome this world.” Amen! One day the evil will be gone and all that will be left is good. If you know Christ as your Savior the Bible says that when this life is over, “There will be no more death, or mourning, or crying, or pain.” Take time today to acknowledge all of the good that is in this world and in your life!!!

In His love and service,

Your friend and brother in Christ,

Bill Keller

If the One You Love Dies Without Jesus, They Will Go to Hell for All Eternity!

(Romans 10:9, 10:13; John 3:18; Isaiah 59:2; Hebrews 2:3)

**DAILY PERSONAL PRAYER FOR YOU: Father, I pray, today, for each person who is reading these words. You know exactly where they are at today financially. I pray that whatever they have today is multiplied many times over in the coming weeks and months. Bless them in the area of their finances, Father, so that they may not only care for their day-to-day needs of those they are responsible for, but so that they may feed the poor around the world, those who are materially poor as well as those who are spiritually poor. I pray, today, a prayer of BLESSING on the finances of the person reading these words. Whatever we have in this life comes from you and is yours Father. May we be faithful in managing what you have given to us. Multiply many times over what you have currently given to the person reading this word today and allow them to be a great blessing to the work of God throughout the world. I pray BLESSINGS over the finances of the person reading these words today for the glory of Almighty God. In the name of Jesus. Amen!

If the one you love and care about dies without Jesus, they will go to hell for all eternity! Several weeks ago, I was asked by a man to go visit his 87-year-old father in the hospital. His health was failing fast and the doctors did not expect him to live more than a few weeks. This man told me his father had refused to go to church during his life, didn’t want to hear “religious talk,” and stated often that he didn’t care what happened to him after he was dead.

I went to the hospital and spent about 20 minutes with this elderly gentleman, talking to him about Christ’s love and about how God desired to have an eternal relationship with him. He was fairly polite but very adamant about letting me know he lived his entire life without God and had no desire to start believing in some “invisible man in the sky.” He asked me to leave and let him die in peace. Sadly, I deal every day with people like this man whose hearts are so hardened they simply don’t want to hear anything about the Lord.

I got a call a few days later from the man whose father I had visited. I could tell he had been crying and he had a difficult time telling me that his father had passed away the previous night and wanted to know if there was any chance his father was in Heaven. I told him that if his father had decided in the last moments of his life to accept the Lord into his heart by faith, then yes he was in Heaven. However, if he had continued to deny Christ’s love and died in his sins, then sadly he was lost for all eternity. One of the most difficult things I have to do each day is tell people that if their loved one dies without Jesus, they will spend eternity in hell.

(This is why I tell you often what we do every day here at Liveprayer is so critical and why we are constantly being attacked by the enemy. We are literally warring with satan 24/7 for the eternal souls of men!)

My friend, what drives me each day is the reality that every second of every day people are dying and going to hell. Hell is a place that was NEVER intended for man. It was created for satan and the fallen angels that followed him. God’s desire is that ALL come to repentance and that none be lost. Let me clear up a misconception many people have. God doesn’t send anyone to hell. Let me say that once more. God doesn’t send anyone to hell. The only way you can get to hell is to CHOOSE to go there. The only people that go to hell are the ones who make the choice to spend eternity there with satan and the fallen angels.

Let me tell you something. After 25 yrs of evangelistic ministry, I can assure you that very few people actually want to go to hell. For most people they either don’t believe there is such a place or nobody has ever told them how they can avoid ending up there. VERY FEW PEOPLE REALLY WANT TO SPEND ETERNITY IN HELL. With the better percentage of two full generations having never even gone to church, we have more people than ever who are dying and going to hell simply because they didn’t really understand that when they died they were either going to spend eternity with God their Creator in Heaven, or be eternally separated from God their Creator in hell.

That is where my passion comes from to use the power of the Internet to reach millions of people all over the planet each and every day with the hope we have in Jesus Christ. That is what keeps me on secular television to reach the lost and hurting masses with the message that Jesus loves them and that without Christ they will die one day and be lost for all eternity.

I do what I do each day because I know that if your dad or mom, your brother or sister, your husband or wife, your son or daughter, your neighbor for friend, your boss or co-worker, the people in your life die without knowing Jesus, they will spend all eternity in hell!!!

I love you and care about you so much. I love you enough to give my life every day to bring you the Absolute Truth of God’s Word and the love of Jesus Christ. My heart breaks when I get the emails from people who have lost loved ones and friends. It breaks even more when I find out their loved one or friend didn’t have a relationship with Jesus since I know that this special person in their life is in hell for all eternity. We get so caught up in so many things during this life, but there is nothing more important than telling people about the fact that Jesus loves them and without putting their faith in Christ they will die and be lost for all eternity.

You can’t force someone to get saved. That is a choice they have to make for themselves. But you can certainly make sure they know about that choice and how critical it is since what they do with Jesus will determine their eternal home. What they ultimately choose to do is something they have to decide for themselves. However, if you love and care about the people who are in your life, you will love and care about them enough to tell them the fact that if they die without Christ in their heart they will spend all eternity in hell.

The great evangelist DL Moody stated one of his greatest regrets in life was the night of the Chicago fire. He preached that night and instead of giving an invitation, he told the audience to think about his words and come back the next night. I submit to you today, that a man or woman of God in a church service, or in any type of meeting or conference, or in any media appearance, who doesn’t use the opportunity to tell people how to accept Jesus as their Savior is committing spiritual malpractice!!! The only thing we can really offer this world is Jesus, and there is no excuse to not use every opportunity we have to tell people how they can know Jesus as their personal Savior.

Let me be blunt. You can do all the “seeker” services you want, think outside the box and use every creative means possible to reach people, but if once you have reached them you don’t use that opportunity to tell them how to be saved, you have accomplished NOTHING. The fact is, people die every second and if they die without Christi in their heart they are going to hell for all eternity. THAT IS A FACT. How can any man or woman of God know that fact, have a group of people assembled, and not use the opportunity to tell them how to be saved?

People deserve to know the truth and to not tell them is no different than if you knew a building was going to blow up in 10 minutes and sat back and didn’t tell everyone to get out. In the end, you can’t trick people into getting saved, you can’t play games to get them saved, you can’t hope they figure it out for themselves, at some point you simply have to be blunt and tell them that they will die one day and at that moment if they don’t know Christ as their Savior their soul will be lost for all eternity!!!

The Bible states that when a person comes to faith in Christ, the angels in Heaven rejoice. As I look at the salvations reports from the Internet and TV program each day here at Liveprayer, I know that each person is someone’s mom or dad, someone’s husband or wife, someone’s son or daughter, someone’s boss or co-worker, someone’s friend or neighbor. The fact is, the people you love and care about in this life will die one day and at that moment they will either be in Heaven with the Lord or forever in hell. Please don’t neglect to tell them about Jesus and His love for them.

I can promise you today that with whatever breath I have left in this life, I will continue to spend each waking moment doing everything I can to reach the lost and hurting masses throughout the world, including your loved ones and friends, with the message that Jesus Christ is the way, and the truth, and the life, and that nobody comes to the Father except through Him !!!

Plan of Salvation:

Are You Desperate and Don’t See Any Solutions to the Challenges You are Facing?

(Proverbs 12:15)

***DAILY PERSONAL PRAYER FOR YOU: Father, bless me this day to have the courage to stand up for YOUR TRUTH in my daily life. Give me boldness to proclaim YOUR TRUTH when I am with those who mock and demean our faith in Christ and for following the teachings of the Bible. No matter what they may say, let me be not afraid to stand for you. In Jesus name…AMEN!

Are you at that place of desperation where you don’t see any solutions to the challenges you are facing? Are you in the 11th hour and losing hope? I get so many emails each day from people all over the world who are in the midst of major battles in their life. They are desperate, looking for something magical to happen to make their circumstances different overnight. I pray that by now you know how much I love you and care about you. I try to give myself each day to standing with you and helping you through the trials of everyday life.

This is one of those days that I need to use some tough love on you. So many of you have absolutely unrealistic expectations about resolving your problems that you need someone to tell you the truth. I hear over and over each day people say, “God has abandoned me…He doesn’t love me or how could He make me go through this.” The fact is God has never left you, God loves you unconditionally, and you go through most of the battles in your life because you do not have a workable plan to get victory.

It is also unrealistic to think that God is some genie in the bottle that you call on when you are in trouble and He will snap His fingers and make all of your problems go away. The fact is, most of your problems didn’t just happen overnight; they developed over a period of time. Victory will probably not happen overnight either; it will take place over a period of time. Let me interject that God can do anything, and if He, in His sovereign will, chooses to eliminate your problems overnight He CAN do that.

The logical question becomes where do I get this plan? God gives us His plan for victory in many ways. This is again why it becomes critical to have that intimate daily relationship with Him. It is in that close daily contact through prayer and the Word that He speaks to us. In our circumstances, He speaks to us. Through the counsel of others He speaks to us. It is a combination of all the above that helps us formulate a game plan, His plan, to be victorious.

One important element I just mentioned was the counsel of others. God has placed mature, Godly people in our life strategically to help us get victory over our battles. Drop your pride and reach out for the wise counsel of others. Let them know about your struggles and ask them to help you formulate a viable plan to see victory. Once armed with the plan God gives you, it requires you to be like Joshua as you faithfully and obediently follow the plan. Trust God, put your faith in Him, He won’t let you down. HE WILL LEAD YOU TO VICTORY OVER YOUR BATTLES!

For many of you today, you are so entrenched in the battles, you need a fresh set of eyes, someone from the “outside” who can give you a different perspective on your problems. If you are at the place of desperation, it is clear what you are doing is not working and you may need to totally restructure everything, This is where you need to humble yourself, swallow your pride, and find 2-3 people you trust to give you Godly counsel.

If it is a business problem, find people who are successful in your business. If it is some other type of problem, seek out those who have expertise in the area you are having problems. Sit down with these people, tell them what your problems are, what challenges you are facing, and ask them to give you a plan they would use if they were in your shoes. You need fresh ideas, fresh inspiration. I know that many of the problems I have had in my life were a a result of not seeking wise counsel. I have become a firm believer in the Biblical teaching to get wise counsel in those important decisions we make along our journey .

I realize that I am hitting very close to home for many of you today. For those of you that are dealing with some deep issues in your life, let me encourage you today. God loves you, He cares about you, and He has placed Godly men and women in the Body of Christ to help you overcome whatever your problems may be. Take this opportunity right now to ask God to give you the strength to admit there are problems that you just can’t overcome on your own, and that He will open up the doors for you and bring the right people into your life to help you overcome those problems and live the victorious life He intends you to enjoy!

I love you, I care about you deeply, and this is God talking to you today to lay your pride aside and seek out the help you need to overcome the problems in your life that are keeping you from enjoying the peace and joy that God intends for you to have. As I mentioned, God has placed many gifted and wonderful men and women in the Body of Christ to help you. Take advantage of them.

will be in prayer for those of you who needed to hear these words of encouragement today. I realize that these can be deeply personal and difficult issues to deal with. My only desire is to see you become all that God has raised you up to be and know the incredible abundance this life can offer. I know you may be facing major issues in your life that are keeping that from happening, and I want you to know that there are answers, there are solutions, there is hope!

You don’t have to go through the rest of your life with that dark cloud hanging over you. You don’t have to go through another day without the joy God intends for you to have. God loves you and has placed people in your life to help you overcome those problems you are facing. There really is victory in Jesus. He has won the victory over whatever battle you are facing 2000 years ago on Calvary. May your number one priority today be getting a plan from God to win the battles you are facing in your life, execute the plan faithfully, and as my personal signature scripture from 1 Corinthians 15:57 says, “But thanks be to God, which giveth us the VICTORY through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

In His love and service,

Your friend and brother in Christ,

Bill Keller

Why Not Live However You Want and Simply Accept Christ Right before You Die?

(Romans 6:1-18)

***DAILY PERSONAL PRAYER FOR YOU: Dear Lord, give me your strength to stand for your Truth no matter what the cost. It is easy to call myself a follower of Jesus, but when confronted, when challenged, when faced with persecution, will I still say I am a follower of Jesus? I love you Lord and ask for your strength so no matter what I have to endure for my faith, I will stand firm. In the name of Jesus I pray…AMEN!

Why not live however you want and simply accept Christ right before you die? These are two questions I get asked often from both Christians and non-Christians. Many non-Christians are looking for an ?angle? with God. Those Christians see people living this way and think it is unfair, especially when they are living a life of obedience to God. Today, I want to look at the answers to these questions to help the non-Christian realize that you can?t play games with God, and for the Christian to understand that God’s grace is available to everyone.

Why not sin and just ask God to forgive you afterwards? Sadly, this is a far-too-common mindset, especially among Christians. They are faced with the opportunity to sin and the knowledge that God will forgive them actually motivates them to give in to sin. Of course, satan is there encouraging this perverted thought process, telling the person to, “Go ahead and sin, you know God will forgive you.” Some look at the promise of God’s forgiveness as a license to sin.

First of all, will God forgive you? Absolutely. God is not a liar. If you repent and ask Him to, He will forgive you, but listen to me carefully. God knows your heart! Never forget that consequences ALWAYS follow sin, just like blessings ALWAYS follow obedience. Will God forgive you if you repent and are serious? Yes. However, that does not stop whatever consequences there may be from your sin. As I share with you often, sin costs. It costs much more than you ever expected to pay. So yes, God will forgive you when ask Him, but what you are doing by sinning is opening up your life to whatever consequences there may be from your sin.

Why not live however you want and simply accept Christ right before you die? This is what I call “salvation roulette.” Can a person live their life in complete rebellion to God and His word, and then right before they die accept Christ and be saved and spend eternity in Heaven? ABSOLUTELY! That thief on the cross lived his life without Christ and it was with his last breaths that he came to know Jesus. Some may think this is a great plan. Live your life however you want and in those last moments accept Christ and God’s free gift of everlasting life with Him. Only one problem. You may never get that chance!

How many people die instantly in a car accident or some other accident? How many people die of a heart attack or suffer some other health issue where they are incapacitated? People die daily as victims of crime, in natural disasters, in every way imaginable. Those people never had the opportunity to accept Christ in their last breath and if they were living their lives apart from Him, are separated from God their Creator for all eternity. No my friend, you are playing with your eternal soul when you take on the mindset that you will simply live your life your way and right before you die accept Jesus.

Now many people who love the Lord and do their very best to follow Him each day, get enraged when they see people living a life of debauchery and in their last moments accept Jesus. They feel like they have been “cheated” in some way. This is exactly what happened to the brother of the Prodigal Son. He became infuriated with his father that his brother, who chose to live in complete rebellion to his father, was given royal treatment when he returned home. He felt like he got cheated, like it wasn’t fair.

First, never forget, NONE of us are worthy of God’s love or His promise of everlasting life. NONE OF US! We are all saved by faith and GOD’S GRACE, His unmerited favor that we did nothing to earn. As I stated earlier, consequences follow sin and blessings follow obedience. The person who lived their life apart from God has had to suffer the consequences of their rebellion throughout their life. Without the Lord they never knew the peace, the joy, the abundance that this life offers. Their rebellion kept them from fully achieving God’s plan and purpose for their life. Sadly, their rebellion throughout their life kept them from knowing the fullness of God’s love.

The person who does follow the Lord throughout their life has enjoyed God’s blessings, even in the midst of the trials and tribulations we all face in this world. That person has lived knowing God’s love as well as His peace, His joy, and enjoyed the abundant life Christ spoke of. The person who follows Christ in their life also has the blessing of allowing God to use their life for His plan and purpose. Never forget, serving and glorifying the Lord is our purpose in this life. I can assure you that a person who follows Christ throughout their life enjoys a full and rich journey that those without Christ will never know.

I love you and care about you so much. So many people are deceived by satan into thinking that they can simply sin against God and then go ask Him to forgive them. The fact is, they can. What satan conveniently forgets to tell you is that you now have to pay a price for that sin. Oh yes, God WILL forgive you, but that does not stop you from having to deal with the consequences of your sin. You can’t sin and not pay a price and often that price is so much greater than you ever imagined it would be.

he other lie of satan so many buy into is that you can live your life however you want and at the last moment, accept Jesus and God’s free gift of everlasting life. The fact is, you can. However, you are playing games with your everlasting soul since you may never have the opportunity to confess Christ as your Savior and you will die in your sin and be lost for all eternity. That is why the Bible proclaims, “Today is the day of salvation.” Even if you do have the opportunity to accept Christ at the very end, you have sadly forfeited the peace, the joy, and abundance this life can offer by not having Christ in your life earlier. In essence, your life has been wasted.

I will be praying for you today. Praying that you will not fall for either of these lies of satan. Satan wants to destroy you, God wants you to have the very best. Destruction comes when you listen to and follow satan, blessings come when you listen to and follow Jesus. Jesus said, “If you love me you will obey me.” We prove our lives for Christ through our obedience, faithfully serving and following Him every day. Instead of looking for ways to sin, and live in rebellion to God, look for ways to serve Him and bring glory to His name in how you live your lives each day.

In His love and service,

Your friend and brother in Christ,

Bill Keller

(Colossians 3:23)

***DAILY PERSONAL PRAYER FOR YOU: Lord, give me the courage and boldness to share your Truth each day with those you bring across my path. Help me Lord to not be afraid to stand for Your Word! Please empower me through your Holy Spirit each day so I can serve you to the best of my ability. Watch over me, protect me, guide me, and give me the words to honor and glorify you. In the name of Jesus I pray…AMEN!!!

I know from the emails that I get, many people go to work each day in absolutely wicked places. I am amazed at the level of evil so many face each day from customers, co-workers, and bosses. Many who openly profess Christ as their Savior endure persecution at work for their faith.

For those of you who go to work each day in a hostile work environment, where people come against you, many simply because you are a Christian, I want you to know that it is NO ACCIDENT OR COINCIDENCE you work where you do. God has put you there for a reason . . . to be HIS light in the darkness.

As I have stated so many times, the child of God is expected to live UP to the standards of God, not down to the standards of this world. This world says to do as little as possible to get by. On your job, do what you have to do, nothing more. God says that you are to do your very best, work with all of your heart to please the Lord, not man.

Even though you may work for your boss, you are actually working for THE BOSS! God doesn’t expect you to do what you can’t do, only your very best at what you can do. Those who know the Lord should always be the best workers, since we understand we are working for the Lord, not man.

Never forget, we have the largest percentage of two full generations that has never been to church. YOU ARE THE ONLY BIBLE MANY OF THOSE YOU ARE IN CONTACT WITH EACH DAY AT YOUR JOB WILL EVER READ! Our greatest testimony to those God has put in our life is not what we say, but how we live our life each day! I guarantee you, people notice!

Let me tell you what the big picture strategy of Liveprayer is. It is a very simple plan. Use the Internet, secular TV and radio, and advertising, to let people know when they are hurting, looking for answers, there is a place they can come. You see, I understand that EVERYONE deals with the same issues in life like finances, health, death, relationships, careers, and addictions.

I simply want to be there, visible and accessible so that when they face these issues, they know there is a place to come to find strength and hope. That is why God has you working where you are. To be that bright light, so when those you come in contact with each day are hurting, looking for strength and hope, they know they can come to you.

That is when you can share with them the fact that Jesus is their only real hope. In the midst of their struggles, He is the ONLY answer. It is at those times when God can use you as an instrument to help those who are hurting find strength in Christ and peace that only God can give. THAT IS WHY YOU ARE WORKING WHERE YOU ARE!

I love you and care about you so much. I realize that many of you face incredible challenges each day on your job. I will be praying today that God will encourage you and help you to see that you are not at that job just for a paycheck, but He has placed you there to be a witness for Him to those you come in contact with each day.

Take time before you go to work to pray for God to help you to do your very best in your job that day, working as unto the Lord, not man as a testimony to those you work with. Also, pray that God will let your light shine bright so that those who may be hurting, will come to you with their problems and give you the opportunity to pray for them and share with them the hope and love of Jesus.

I pray that you will never look at your job as just a way to earn a paycheck again, but look at it for what it really is, A MINISTRY. All of God’s children are called to serve Him. Realize that you serve Him every day when you go to work, since it is no accident or coincidence where you work. GOD PUT YOU THERE!

In His love and service,

Your friend and brother in Christ,

Bill Keller

The Day to Day Problems of Life

(1 Thessalonians 5:17)

***DAILY PERSONAL PRAYER FOR YOU: Dear Lord, thank you for another day of life! Even though this is a special day in the life of your ministry here at Liveprayer, let us never to forget that EVERY DAY is a special day since it is a gift from you! Please let me never take one day, one hour, one minute of this precious life for granted and may I always honor you with my life! In the name of Jesus I pray…AMEN!

There is one thing that I am certain of today, as you read this Devotional you have already, or will throughout the day, face various problems. I am not talking about the major issues we often have to battle like a serious health problem, a crisis in our marriage, a major financial challenge, not having a job, being in bondage to some sort of addiction, but about the small day-to-day problems that come out of nowhere and have to be dealt with.

As you know, there is virtually no end to these types of problems. Losing your keys, misplacing your wallet, something going wrong with your car, getting a traffic ticket, something breaking in your home, spilling your coffee in the morning, your computer not working, unexpected issues at work or school, a confrontation with someone we meet, having a routine dentist appointment turn into something more involved, stubbing your toe, not getting the apple pie you ordered in your McDonald’s lunch bag, your pet is sick . . . I could go on for hours but I think you get my point.

Every day, just in the course of living through another 24 hours, there are so many things in our lives that happen. Many of these things are totally out of our control and simply problems that we never expected but are suddenly confronted with. I find that for many people, simply dealing with the day-to-day problems life throws at them can be very challenging and often overwhelming.

This is one of the reasons that I frequently tell you we must have a real, committed, 24/7 relationship with the Lord. It would be nice if all of our problems occurred at 11 a.m. on Sunday morning, but that is not reality. The problems of life happen daily, and all throughout the day. I counsel people to start their day in prayer and in the Word of God. It is not only the best way to start your new day, but it will give you the focus and strength to deal with whatever problems life may throw at you during the course of that day

Paul said to, “Pray without ceasing.” I take that LITERALLY. I wake up every morning in prayer and never hang up the phone. I spend the entire day with that line to God open. God has given us the greatest resource there is in the world, a direct line to Him. We are fools if we don’t take full advantage of it. There is nothing in your life that you will face that is too big for God to handle or TOO SMALL!

You have got to understand, God cares about you! He loves you! God cares if your keys are lost. God cares if your car won’t start. God cares if you spill your coffee. God cares if your hot water heater isn’t working. God cares if your boss is giving you a hard time for no reason. God cares if you have a cavity. God cares if your apple pie is missing. God cares about every detail in your life. He loves you that much.

I love you and care about you too! I realize that you are facing lots of challenges in your life today, many of those challenges you never even expected when you woke up. I want to encourage you to “pray without ceasing.” Start your day in prayer, reading God’s Word, and spend the entire day with that line to God OPEN. Prayer demonstrates our dependence on God. When we don’t pray, we are depending on ourselves. John 15:5 tells us, “Without me, you can do nothing.” Why be so foolish to try and deal with the day to day problems of life alone, when God is ready, willing, and able to help us?

I will be praying for you today. Praying that no matter what problems life may throw your way today, you will find your strength, your hope, and your answers in the Lord. You will be amazed how much easier each day is when we are operating in His strength and not ours. You will be amazed at how much more peace and joy there is each day, despite the problems of life, when we are relying on God and not ourselves.

This could be one of the most profound words I have ever shared with you because it is so relevant and necessary to our daily lives. The key to knowing God’s peace, God’s joy, and the abundance of this life, is by living each day in constant communication with Him. Start your day in prayer and keep that line open ALL DAY LONG. It won’t make the problems of life go away, but it is how you can live each day no matter what problems life may throw at you.

In His love and service,

Your friend and brother in Christ,

Bill Keller
