God’s judgment on the United States!

( Malachi 3:5, 4:1, Psalms 11:6, 2 Peter 2:9 )

God’s judgment on the United States! Perhaps no nation that has ever existed in the history of the world other than Israel, has known the incredible blessings of God like the United States. In just 227 years, this nation has become the most powerful and prosperous nation in the history of the world. It is the hand of God that allows nations to rise, and to fall. God allowed this nation to rise up from nothing. He poured out His richest blessings on our country. Sadly, we have squandered those blessings, misappropriated them, and now must face God’s judgment.

I DO NOT say this lightly, and fully realize the magnitude of what I am sharing with you today. This nation began to decline in the mid 60’s. That decline continued throughout the 70’s. It intensified in the “me years” of the 80’s. The decline began to occur at warp speed during the 90’s, when even the President became a symbol of our decline. As we are now 3 years into the new millennium, we are in free-fall and I am sorry to say, things are never going to get better, only worse.

There are 7 key factors that has brought our nation to this time of God’s judgment. First, is the Federal Government legalizing the killing of innocent babies. In the 30 years since abortion was legalized, there have been over 40 million babies killed, app. 1.3 million each year, around 4,000 every single day. Second, is the bold, unrepentant, unashamed, gross sexual perversion that exists in our nation today. From those who choose homosexuality, to the epidemic of sexual activity outside of marriage starting as young as 12, to the ever increasing numbers of men and women who commit adultery, to the unrestricted pornography industry, to those who proudly engage in every type of sexual perversion that man has ever dreamed of.

The third factor is the millions who have rejected the God of the Bible to follow the false gods of the world. The fastest growing religions in our country are the cults like the Muslims, the Mormons, the Scientologists, and the various New Age movements. They have preyed on the 2 plus generations in our nation that have for the most part never been to church, and during those difficult times in their life are seeking answers. Sadly, they have believed the lie from satan instead of the Truth of God’s Word. Fourth, is the abandonment of Israel. Genesis 12:3 is still in effect today! Even though the U.S. gives
billions in aid each year to Israel, the current “roadmap” is helping to give away the land that God promised to the children of Israel to their enemies.

Fifth, is the destruction of the family. A Godly family consisting of a man and a woman that both love the Lord and have only been married to each other, with children that love and honor God, is the exception today, rather than the norm that it once was. Marriage is no longer God’s holy institution,
but little more than a legal date. Divorce damages the lives of both spouses and the children involved. A large percentage of children now grow up in unstable homes where God is never mentioned, and go on to have unhealthy relationships and children of their own, that also grow up in unstable homes void of God.

The sixth factor is the media. Satan has full control over 99% of the media ( the 1% being the Christian media) and there are no longer ANY constraints on what can be produced. Between television, films, music, the Internet, video games, and publications, you can access an unlimited amount of whatever type of filth, garbage, perversion, and disgusting deviant behavior that you want 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, right from the comfort of your home.

The seventh and final factor is the apostate church. The church today is more interested in programs than people, in building great structures instead of great men and women of God, in entertaining people rather than encouraging them. The church has compromised the absolute truth of God’s word in order to be politically correct, and is more concerned with people’s money than their souls. The spiritual leaders of this nation are NOT supposed to be President Bush and politicians, NOT supposed to be Snoop Dogg, Eminem, and musicians, NOT supposed to be Oprah and other TV stars, NOT supposed to be Tiger Woods and sports heroes, NOT supposed to be Hollywood entertainers. They are supposed to be the men and women of God that He has raised up and called to be a BOLD, LOUD, CLEAR voice for His TRUTH, not just from the pulpit of a local church, or in a great convention of Christians, BUT IN THE WORLD THAT WE LIVE IN!!!

I love you and care about you so much. My heart is broken over having to share such a word like this. If we think that any of these 7 factors are going to change, we are simply being naive. Things are NOT ever going to go back to the way they used to be. To not expect God’s judgment on such blatant and gross rebellion is also very naive. God will not be mocked. You cannot live in rebellion to God and not pay the price in your personal life, and we cannot live in rebellion to God and not pay the price as a nation. But here is the good news. GOD ALWAYS HAS A REMNANT! GOD ALWAYS HAS A PEOPLE! Despite whatever judgment He pours out on our nation, there will always be a group of people that will never bow their knee to Baal!

I will be praying for you today. I pray that you will be part of God’s remnant in these last days. I pray that you will embrace the opportunity that we will have as the people of God to share the hope and love of Christ with the hurting and the lost. We are going to have incredible opportunities to see great numbers of souls won for the Kingdom. I remember in the first few days after 9/11, at Liveprayer we saw over 2,000 accept Christ as their Savior. There will be a great harvest of souls as God’s judgment
is poured out on our nation. That is why I have worked so hard to establish Liveprayer here on the Internet, and establish the Liveprayer TV program on commercial television. I know that it is only a matter of time before God sends His judgment on our nation, and I want to have the vehicles in place to be able to reach the masses who will be looking for answers.

My word for you today is to not be frightened by these words, but be challenged by them. Despite whatever judgment God pours out on the United States, those who know Christ as their Savior have no reason to be afraid. May we never waiver in our faithfulness to God, serve Him to the best of our ability, and always be proud to be called Christians.

Let me leave you with the incredible words from Hebrews 11:13-16, and pray that one day men will say this about you and I. “All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance. And they admitted that they were aliens and strangers on earth. People who say such things show that they are looking for a country of their own. If they had been thinking of the country they had left, they would have had opportunity to return. Instead, they were longing for a better country–a heavenly one. THEREFORE GOD IS NOT ASHAMED TO BE CALLED THEIR GOD, FOR HE HAS PREPARED A CITY FOR THEM.”

The Biblical case against gambling

( Psalms 118:8 )

The Biblical case against gambling. I am often asked whether it is a sin to buy a Lottery ticket. I am going to tell you up front, that there is no verse in the Bible that says, “thou shalt not gamble.” However, let me give you a Biblical basis why gambling is a sin. Gambling involves and element of risk. Ultimately, you are putting your faith in something other than God for the outcome. Therein lies the foundation of why gambling is a sin. Instead
of trusting God, instead of putting your faith in God, you have chosen to put
your faith in luck. You are hoping to beat the odds, and it is putting your hope and faith in something other than God that makes gambling a sin. Let me outline for you, three additional reasons why gambling is a sin.

First, it can cause you to lose sight of your priorities. Never forget, anytime something is more important than the Lord in your life, it is a sin. We are to love the Lord our God with all of our heart, and He MUST be our first priority at all times. Second, it can be a poor use of God’s resources that He has entrusted to you. Many people I have counseled are in financial
difficulties, not because they have not been blessed by God, but because they have misused and mishandled their blessing. Lastly, it can be a stumbling block to your brother or sister. Many people have a compulsive nature, and could
end up in total bondage to gambling. So while it may not be a problem in your
life, your involvement may cause someone else to have a problem with gambling.

Let me make an important point. When I talk about gambling, I am referring to the lottery, sports gambling, casino games, private card games…but I am also talking about the financial markets. Having been involved heavily in the financial markets in the 80’s, I can tell you that many people use the word investing, when in fact they are literally gambling. When you are taking a financial position in the outcome of something that is unknown, that is gambling no matter what words you want to use. You have as much control over the stock price of a particular company as you do over the performance of your favorite football team.

***This is NOT an indictment against having stocks and bonds. Prudent, reasoned, well strategize investment plans are encouraged in God’s Word. I am talking about those who are simply rolling the dice hoping to get lucky in the stock market.

The Bible teaches us to be wise stewards with the resources God has entrusted to us. I am a strong advocate of investing a portion of our resources in well researched, fundamentally sound opportunities that have the real potential of giving us a reasonable return. That is wise use of God’s money. God encourages this type of prudent investing. The line is crossed into gambling when you are just “hoping to be right,” or entering into a situation with greed as your motives. No prayer, no research, simply taking a chance you might win. For the above outlined reasons, that is a sin my friend.

I love you and care about you so much. I will be praying for you today, especially those who have been caught up in the bondage of this addiction to gambling. If you, or someone you knows is addicted to gambling, know that I will be praying today for those who are in this bondage. God is a God of deliverance, and He can deliver someone from the bondage of gambling. Never forget that there is hope in Christ, and no matter how bad someone has screwed up their life, God can help them put the pieces together if they are ready to surrender to Him. Gambling is a sin, since inherit in the nature of gambling there is a reliance on chance instead of faith in God. But like all sin, Christ died on the cross to wash our sins away and give us victory!

Putting your troubles on hold

( Mark 6:31 )

Putting your troubles on hold. For most, today is the start of the weekend. The weekend is a time to get away from the pressures of work and relax. Even if you have to work during the weekend, let me encourage you to spend as much time as possible in the next couple of days putting your troubles on hold and focusing instead on rest and relaxation. I am not trying to minimize the complex and difficult situations many of you are facing, but we MUST find pockets of time in our life to put the burdens down and simply rest. You are much better equipped to handle life’s problems when you are fresh and energized, then when you are tired and running on fumes. It is in those run down times when our problems look insurmountable and we are most apt to become depressed and lose hope. Even Jesus had to get away once in a while to recharge his physical body.

A time of rest does many things for you. It helps you to regain your physical strength. However, just as important, it allows you to regain your mental strength. Fighting day after day wears us down mentally and we get so focused on our problems that we lose sight of possible alternatives that may help us in our struggles. Getting worn down also causes us to lose perspective causing us to forget that God is still in control. Most important though, a time of rest helps us to refocus on our personal relationship with the Lord. In the midst of our trials, we can miss out on that daily, intimate time with Him which just compounds our problems. That time of rest allows us to not only recharge our bodies and minds, but our relationship with the Lord.

Just hours before going to the cross, Jesus told His disciples that in this life they would have many trials. He did not want them to be deceived into thinking that just because they had walked with Him, they were immune from life’s problems. But He promised them that He would always be with them. We are heirs to that promise as follower’s of Christ. It is the Christ living in us that gives us the ability to live victorious lives. Never lose sight that the Bible tells us that we are more than conquerors through Him. That means whatever you are facing today, whatever obstacles may be in your life, because of Jesus, you can overcome them and be victorious. So in these next few days while you rest, while you recharge, dwell not on your problems…..but on the fact that we have total victory in Jesus!

I love you and care about you. I pray that you will have a wonderful few days of rest and relaxation, that you will be able to spend quality time with family and friends, and that most important you will spend some quality time with the Lord. He loves you, cares about you, and will make you adequate each day for the challenges that you face. Focus on living life in His strength and not your strength, and those burdens won’t seem as heavy. Enjoy the weekend as you put your troubles on hold, and find that peace that passes all human understanding in Him.

How can you say no to God?

( Genesis 12:1-3, Matthew 9:9 )

How can you say no to God? Every day people ask us to do things for them. Family members, friends, co-workers, often total strangers ask us to do something for them. In the course of our daily lives, the people that mean the most to us will ask us to do something special for them. It may be a parent or a sibling, it may be our spouse, it may be a very close friend, or it could be someone that we look up to and respect like our boss or pastor. All throughout our life, people ask us to do things for them, and we do our best to do what they ask.

What about when God asks you to something for Him? Why are we able to do things for others, but not for God? I have often wondered, how many God called to do the job that Abraham did. Human beings have not changed since the Garden of Eden. Knowing that fact, I have no doubt that God called many men before Abraham who said yes to God. Likewise, when Jesus called Matthew to follow Him, how many before Matthew said no? Throughout history, we have men and women that God called to do great things for the Kingdom. I often wonder who God may have called to do that work, but turned God down.

Some of the most disappointing times in my life have been those when God was calling me to do something for Him and I said no. I was too busy. It wasn’t the right time. I had MY SCHEDULE and what God was asking me to do didn’t fit in. God really didn’t need me, He would find someone else. There are a million excuses that we can come up to basically tell God NO. In looking back now, how could I have ever said no to God? This is GOD!!! The creator of the Heavens and the earth. MY CREATOR!!! God Himself came to me and said, “Bill, will you do something for me?” and I said NO! If complete stranger came up to me and asked me to do something for them, as long as it was not something outrageous I would most likely do it. Yet I tell God no???

I love you and care about you so much. The sad reality is that when we say no to God, we are the one that loses. God blesses us for our obedience. When we say no to God, we miss our blessing. Our purpose in this life is to serve and glorify Him. When we say no to God, we are not fulfilling our purpose. The greatest calling we have in this life is what God asks us to do for Him. When we say no to God, we miss our calling. The reality is, when we say no to God, He calls someone else to do what He asked us to do. Someone else is answering the call of God on their life, fulfilling their purpose, and receiving the blessing we could have had. The work of God does not stop because we say no to God. It simply goes on without us.

I will be praying for you today. As I say often, we only get one shot at life. This is it. MAKE IT COUNT! The fact is, God has a Diving plan and purpose for each one of us. God has a calling on the life of every person that comes to know Christ as their Savior. Our purpose in this life is to serve and glorify Him with our lives. There is no greater thing that we can do with our life than to serve our God. It is an honor and a privilege that He gives us to work for Him. In faithfully and obediently serving God, we are blessed beyond all that we could ever ask or think. MAKE YOUR LIFE COUNT BY DOING SOMETHING GREAT FOR GOD! Before Abraham, Matthew, Billy Graham, or anyone else that God has used could do great things for God, they first had to say yes when He called them.

God is speaking to YOU today. He is asking you to do something for Him. SAY YES!!!

The choice YOU will make today

( 1 Samuel 15:22 )

The choice YOU will make today. The Bible teaches us that to “obey is better than sacrifice”. What an incredible truth this verse is for our day to day lives. It supports the verses of Ephesians 2:8 and 9 that tells us that our salvation is by faith, and NOT of works. While God is concerned about what we do with our lives, the fruit that we can produce for the Kingdom from our efforts, He is first and foremost concerned with our obedience. You see, our obedience flows from a heart that is yielded to Him, a life that is surrendered to do HIS will and not OUR will.

This very day, you will have a chance to obey or rebel against God. In reality, during the course of any given day, there are many opportunities that we consciously choose to obey or rebel against God. But I want to focus on the very next decision that you have to make after reading these words. IT IS NO ACCIDENT THAT GOD HAS ALLOWED YOU TO READ

The life of King Saul is a very sad commentary of someone that God anointed in a great way and chose to rebel against God. King Saul lived with the same freewill that God gives to all of us. He had to make choices each day to obey, or rebel against God. Sadly, there are ALWAYS consequences for our rebellion. These consequences come in many forms but there is
always a price to pay when we choose not to obey God. Likewise, blessings will
always follow our obedience to God. The greatest blessing of all is that peace
that passes all human understanding we receive when we are living our lives the way God
has asked us to. When we are living for Him, making choices that honor God, there is a peace and joy that you could never put a price on.

I love you and care about you so much. Today’s Devotional is a special warning for you to be aware of the choices that you will make today. You will have many opportunities today to choose to obey God, or rebel against God. I will be praying that you will make the choice to obey God. To set aside your will, your desires, for His will and His desires. Jesus promised His followers a life of abundance. That abundance comes from living a life pleasing and acceptable to God. God loves us so very much. Like any parent,
He only wants the best for us. When He asks us to obey Him, it is not for HIS
good, but for OUR good.

In the Old Testament, many of God’s children were quick to offer up sacrifices to Him, yet their hearts were far away from Him. They honored Him with their lips, but God saw their hearts. We obey God out of our love for Him. All of our good works, our good deeds have little meaning to God if our hearts are not right. When we have surrendered our lives to Him, it is our DESIRE to love Him, and we show Him that love through our obedience. We can tell our mother, or father how much we love them. But we SHOW that love through our obedience. God is the same way. We can sing praises to Him, do great works in His name, but it is our obedience that shows
God how deep our love for Him really is.

As you go through the rest of this day, remember these words…TO OBEY IS BETTER THAN SACRIFICE. You will be making a choice very shortly in which you can obey God, or rebel against Him. Show God how much you love Him today, and OBEY.

Being the light of this world

( Matthew 5:16 )

Being the light of this world. One of the commands that Jesus has given His children is to go out into this world that we live in and “let our light shine before men”. This was NOT a suggestion of something we can do on a Saturday afternoon when we are bored. This was a direct command to LET OUR LIGHT SHINE in this dark, lost, and sin-filled world that we live in. Today, I simply want to reiterate that order Jesus gave to His children 2000 years ago. To fulfill our God-given purpose in this life, we have to serve and glorify HIM with our lives. Ultimately, that is what the life of EVERY believer is all about.

I will never forget back January 1996 when the National Religious Broadcasters held their annual convention at the huge downtown convention center in Indianapolis. One evening at about 5:30, I left the convention center by a side door. As those who live in the Midwest know, 5:30 in the afternoon in January, it is getting dark, it is cold, and it is very dreary. The moment the door to the convention center closed behind me, there was a moment frozen in time when everything stopped. The Holy Spirit spoke to me as plain as I am speaking to you now. He told me that behind that door, inside the convention center, was a collection of some of the most gifted men and women on the face of the earth. There was hundreds of millions of commerce involved in the Christian broadcast world. Yet with all of those incredibly gifted people of God, with all of those vast resources, outside that convention center was a dark, dreary world that for the most part, DIDN’T EVEN KNOW THEY EXISTED!!!

For the most part, all they were doing was trading dollars with each other, enjoying the fellowship Christians enjoy together, and simply self perpetuating the Christian broadcast world to survive one more year! FEEDING FROM THE CIRCULAR CHRISTIAN TROUGH ALL FEED FROM
TO SURVIVE! Rather than letting their light shine before ALL men, they were content with keeping their light in the safety of the world that they had established.
And as guilty as the Christian broadcast world is of this, the church is just as bad. Stay within the safety of the four walls and keep the door locked!!!

Now you know a little about where my passion comes from for the work that is being done each day through Liveprayer. I loved my time of preaching in churches all over the country, but knew deep inside this was not where God wanted me long term. I loved my time in the Christian TV world, but knew that this wasn’t really where God wanted me long term. Why? Because in both cases I knew that the light of Christ in me was not being seen by the majority of those who needed it the most. Those in the world who were lost, looking for answers, trying to find just a tiny piece of hope to hold on to. AND I HAD THE ANSWER THEY WERE LOOKING FOR!!!

One of the things that has frustrated me for so long is how bold satan is in getting out his message that leads to the death and destruction of so many every day. Yet the people of God, who have the only REAL answer to life, are so afraid to be just as bold. Well, I am not afraid, and I have no idea how much work God has left for me to do, so I am going out each day and giving 100% of all that I have to let the beacon of light that is Liveprayer shine bright enough for the entire world to see! The enemy has boldly used the Internet to do his work, well, we are using it in just as boldly to proclaim the hope and love of Jesus Christ, and will continue to increase the amount of people that we can reach each day. The enemy boldly uses television for his purposes. The Liveprayer television program is a vehicle that will be JUST as bold as anything satan does, and on the same secular stations satan uses! The enemy has long used the publishing industry to destroy people lives. We are going to use the publishing world to get the message of hope and love through Jesus Christ into the mainstream of society!!!

You see my friend, the strategy of most Christian organizations has always been to operate within the confines of the walls of the Christian world. It is safe there, they don’t have to deal with the endless attacks the lost world will bring on them, AND it is very expensive to try and compete in the secular world. BUT IT IS OUT IN THE LOST WORLD WHERE OUR LIGHTS WILL OUR NEEDED THE MOST!

I want to create a synergy between the Internet, secular TV, and mainstream publications to BOLDLY proclaim that there is hope, that there are answers, in the name of Jesus! To me, THAT is what Jesus meant when He told us let our
light shine before men. That is what He has called YOU to do, and that is what He
has called ME to do. Now, more then ever this world needs the hope that we have

I love you, and care about you so much. I pray today that you not only take this message to heart for your own life, but that pray for me as God brings together all of those people and resources necessary to let Liveprayer be a powerful beacon of light in this world. The Bibles says that people perish for lack of vision. Well, people in the world we live in are perishing every moment, being lost for eternity. One major contributing factor is the lack of vision among God’s people. For reasons only God knows, He has given me the vision of how to play a small part in taking His message of hope to the masses. NOW IS THE TIME FOR THE LIGHT OF LIVEPRAYER TO SHINE BRIGHTLY IN THIS DARK WORLD. May you and I always be faithful to honor what Jesus asked us to do!

In His love and service,
Your friend and brother in Christ,
Bill Keller

The TRUTH shall set them free!

( John 8:32, 2 Thessalonians 2:10 )

The TRUTH shall set them free! My friend, one of the greatest concerns that I have about our society, is the failure to accept the fact that ABSOLUTE TRUTH exists. Life is NOT gray, it is black and white. It is either the truth, or it is a lie. That begs the question, where do we find ABSOLUTE TRUTH? Society will tell you that each person should each be able to determine for themselves what truth is. That sounds wonderful, but practically speaking can’t ever work. Why? Well, what I feel is right, someone
else might look at as wrong. What I think is wrong, someone else may think is right. To allow each one of us to determine for ourselves what truth is, can
NEVER work since the standard for each one of us would be different.

That is why the ONLY source for ABSOLUTE TRUTH is God. God took the effort to give us His inspired, inerrant Word. That is where we find ABSOLUTE TRUTH. God also gave each one of us freewill. That means we are free to believe whatever we want. But what one person chooses to believe will not change or alter the TRUTH of God found in the Bible. It is immutable, never changing. It is the foundation, the bedrock on which we can live our very lives. Again, you are free to accept of reject what God says in the Bible. Why do you think those who make choices in rebellion to the truth of God’s Word will ALWAYS dismiss the Bible as just a book of stories written by men who use it for their own purposes? Those who rebel against God have to deny His Word, or admit that they are wrong.

It is critical for each one of those who accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior to stand up for the truth of God’s word in your day to day life. God has called us to be the defenders of His truth. Don’t be afraid to call sin sin. People will mock you, laugh at you, call you names, even strike you, but that will not change the truth. We live in a time when the LIE is glorified, proclaimed boldly every way imaginable, and told enough times that
people actually begin to accept the lie as the truth. Yet we, the people of faith,
the people who possess the ABSOLUTE TRUTH of God’s Word, meekly and passively sit by, watching, keeping our mouth shut, satisfied going into our churches
on Sunday and locking the doors so nobody will hear us!!!!

You don’t have to preach to do this, simply live your day to day life in an uncompromising way that lets the lost and hurting around you know your life is different. You don’t buy into the lies of this world. You don’t fall into the traps so many do because you are armed with the TRUTH. And when those opportunities present themselves, boldly speak up and let people know what God says! God doesn’t call us to think for people. God doesn’t call us to save anyone. We can’t do that. What we CAN DO is share the truth of His Word with others, that is our job. What they choose to do with that truth, then becomes an issue for them and God.

I love you and care about you so much. Your prayers, your love, your support means more then you will ever know. Never forget that it is friends like YOU that allow me to share the TRUTH of God’s Word each and every day with over 1.7 million worldwide. The Internet is perhaps the greatest vehicle ever known to man to share the hope and love of Jesus Christ with people. Over 36,000 people that I know of have found an everlasting relationship with Jesus Christ through Liveprayer! We have over 900,000 praise reports from people that have contacted Liveprayer and God has answered their prayers. Your prayers and support have made it possible for us to be here the last 46 months for the lost and hurting in their time of need. Together, we are making an impact in millions of lives by sharing with them the power of God. We are helping people find the ABSOLUTE TRUTH God gives us in His Word, since we know, the TRUTH shall set them free!!!
