Sadly I Get Emails for Prayer Like this Every Day

(John 10:10)

***DAILY PERSONAL PRAYER FOR YOU: Dear Lord, please help me today to be an active member of your body. I pray each day that I will be yielded to you and your will for my life. Let me remove all that is in my life keeping me from being the best servant I can possibly for you and your Kingdom. I love you Lord, and let my love be expressed in my daily life as I serve you. In the name of Jesus I pray…AMEN!!!

“Hi . . . i’m a 16 male from florida and i totally ruined my whole entire life and dreams for one night of lust… i have no clue what to do… i had intercourse with my best friend and she might be pregnant now…. and i have no clue what to do… i’ve been trying to get rid of the confusion by taking lots of pills and slicing myself … its helping but… you know how it is… your parents find out… they take you to a shrink… the shrink puts you on pills… then you take all the pills and they put in the hospital and now i’m back home slicing myself some more…any ways…pray that i will kill myself or be killed fairly soon… thanks a lot!!”

Sadly, I get emails like this every day. Eight out of the 10 are from men and women under 18 years old. Young men and women with their entire lives ahead of them. However, they made the choice to rebel against God and were faced with the very real-life consequences of their rebellion. Most mature adults do not handle the consequences of their sinful actions very well, so it is not surprising that a young man or woman would feel hopeless when faced with the reality of their rebellion.

Sadly, people of all ages underestimate satan’s goals even though Jesus clearly told us what they are in John 10:10. He is out to steal, kill, and destroy. Satan’s desire is to steal your hope, steal your joy, steal your peace, steal the abundance that this life can be. Satan wants to kill you. He wants you dead in your sin so that you will be forever separated from God, your Creator, and destined to spend eternity in the Lake of Fire that will be his eternal home. Satan wants to destroy you. If you are already a Christian, he wants to destroy your testimony, to destroy your ability to serve God, to destroy the plan and purpose God has for your life. My friend, satan is NOT playing games, he is deadly serious!!!

That is why I am so passionate each day in what I share with you in regard to sin. Each day, I receive over 40,000 prayer requests from all over the world. Literally 7 days a week I am dealing with the very real lives, of very real people, that due to sin have had their lives turned upside down. I get to see daily the destruction of sin in people’s lives. Satan is an equal opportunity destroyer. He doesn’t care if you are young or old, if you are male or female, if you are white or black. Satan doesn’t care if you are rich or poor, where you live, how intelligent you may or may not be. SIN IS A UNIVERSAL ISSUE THAT ALL MEN AND WOMEN DEAL WITH EVERY DAY!

I realize that I can’t force you to follow God, or to obey Him. I understand that you have to make your own choices. What God has called me to do is simply share the TRUTH of His Word with you each day. It really boils down to this. When you obey God, you will be blessed. When you rebel against God, you will face the consequences. Obeying God brings blessings, disobeying God brings consequences. This is true whether you are 10 or 100, and every age in between.

I love you and care about you so much. Satan is NOT some cartoon character created by Walt Disney. Satan is a very REAL force in the world for this short season. He is not to be feared, but understood. We must never forget that for this brief season, he is very much on the loose, with the clearly defined goal to steal, kill, and destroy the lives of real people. However, there is no reason to fear satan because 2000 years ago Jesus Christ rose out of His tomb and sealed the enemy’s eternal fate. He is a defeated foe! The Bible proclaims that, “Greater is He that is in me, than he that is in the world.”

I will be praying for you today. I pray that you will not take sin lightly, or the potential consequences of sin in your life. The email I shared at the top said, “i totally ruined my whole entire life and dreams for one night of lust.” The fact is that is not true. Satan is a LIAR. John 8:44 tells us that he is the “father of lies!” God gives us a great promise in 1 John 1:9 that if we will confess our sins, He will forgive us, and cleanse us of all unrighteousness. It does NOT say that we will escape the consequences of our sins, but that God will forgive us and give us the grace and strength to deal with whatever they may be.

The good news is that this young man’s life is NOT over, and that God still has a plan and purpose for him if he will surrender it to the Lord. The good news is that YOUR life is not over, simply because you have sinned. The key is to go to God, confess your sins, receive His forgiveness, and move forward with your life. God is a God of grace, mercy, and restoration. Satan will lie to you and tell you that you are worthless because of your sin and that you have no hope. The truth is that God never stops loving you and that your hope is in Him. Satan wants to destroy you, God wants to bless you. Satan wants you to die, God wants you to live. May you choose the God of hope, blessing, and life!!!

In His love and service,

Your friend and brother in Christ,

Bill Keller

A Sad Commentary on Pastors and Christian Leaders Right from God’s Word

(Ezekiel 34:1-6)

***DAILY PERSONAL PRAYER FOR YOU: Dear Lord, please help me to live this day honoring you in my thoughts, words, and deeds. Help me this day to live my life pleasing and acceptable to Jesus. Allow me to use my life to help someone else during this day, and be kind to everyone I come across no matter how they may treat me. Let Christ shine through me throughout this day oh Lord, be glorified through my life! In Jesus name I pray…AMEN!

“The word of the LORD came to me: “Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel; prophesy and say to them: ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Woe to the shepherds of Israel who only take care of themselves! Should not shepherds take care of the flock? You eat the curds, clothe yourselves with the wool and slaughter the choice animals, but you do not take care of the flock. You have not strengthened the weak or healed the sick or bound up the injured. You have not brought back the strays or searched for the lost. You have ruled them harshly and brutally. So they were scattered because there was no shepherd, and when they were scattered they became food for all the wild animals. My sheep wandered over all the mountains and on every high hill. They were scattered over the whole earth, and no one searched or looked for them.” Ezekiel 34:1-6

A sad commentary on so many pastors and Christian leaders right from God’s Word. Last week I was doing some study in the Book of Ezekiel. In reading through some passages, I came across these first 6 verses in Ezekiel 34. As I read these words, I could only think that this was the sad description of so many pastors and Christian leaders today. 50 years ago, you could sit in the pew of most any church of any denomination and hear the Truth of God’s Word. Those pastors and the men and women God raised up on the national scene were men and women who would never compromise the Truth of the Bible and understood their only mission was to bring the lost to Christ.

Fast forward to the year 2016 and you have entire denominations of pastors who don’t even preach, teach or believe the Bible. It is questionable if many pastors were ever “called” and are even saved. Those who have risen up into national prominence are more worried about selling books, having the newest private jet, building bigger buildings, and living like the rulers of small nations rather than preaching the unadulterated Truth of the Bible and leading the lost to faith in Jesus Christ.

When these are the men and women leading the people, why are we surprised that many who sit in the pews of the nation’s churches on Sunday aren’t even saved, don’t accept the Bible as Absolute Truth and our only authority, and the majority of the ones who do lead weak and ineffective lives. That is why I encourage people all the time to seek out a pastor who is a true shepherd. That is increasingly difficult today, but there are still many men of God who have not bowed their knee to Baal and are not the shepherds described in Ezekiel 34. Sunday is the day most Christians go to church. It is the only time most of you ever see your pastor, and that is usually from your seat in the sanctuary as he leads the worship service and preaches the message.

Having preached in over 500 churches of every denomination nationwide, I can honestly tell you that for most pastors, Sunday morning is their favorite day of the week and the one day they usually feel their work for God really has some meaning. You can never know the pressure most pastors are under. If it was only getting up on Sunday morning and being the “man of God” it would be wonderful, but that is not reality. It is a 7-day a week, 24-hour a day calling. Many have outside jobs. There is the constant pressures of raising the budget, dealing with the interpersonal problems that always exist when you have a group of people, overseeing the political infighting that often occurs, on top of the spiritual requirements of shepherding the flock, having an anointed word each week for the various services, and other requirements the office of pastor carries with it.

My prayer for you today is to support your pastor. Pray for your pastor each day. John 10 gives us the picture of the ideal pastor. Pray that your pastor will be able to tear away from the distractions of this world to be the shepherd described in John 10. God has placed that pastor in your life to guide you, spiritually nurture you, and have spiritual leadership over your life. Do all you can to show your love and appreciation for all your pastor does for you, most of which you may not even recognize. Also, God has placed your pastor in your life for spiritual leadership. When you come into times of crisis, don’t hesitate to go to your pastor. That is ultimately why they are there, to help you and guide you through those difficult times in your life.

I love you and care about you so much. I pray for you daily. Sadly, today there are too many pastors and Christian leaders who fall into the description found in Ezekiel 34. It makes the work that much more difficult when you have people running around calling themselves Christians, but supporting sins like abortion, homosexuality, the destruction of God’s plan of the family. You have others who think there is nothing wrong with belonging to a cult or false religions and they have bought the universalistic lie from hell that everyone will get to Heaven.

Let this message today be a remember to lift up your pastor in prayer and recognize him for all he does for your life. God has called His sheep to be obedient and obey those in spiritual authority. Take inventory and see if you are fulfilling this admonition, and ask God to help you. He loves you so much, that he has placed your pastor in your life to shepherd you and guide you in your spiritual journey. Show your love for Him today by praying for and supporting your pastor.

In His love and service,

Your friend and brother in Christ,

Bill Keller

Feeding the Poor

(Psalms 41:1)

**DAILY PERSONAL PRAYER FOR YOU: Father, I pray, today, for each person who is reading these words. You know exactly where they are at today financially. I pray that whatever they have today is multiplied many times over in the coming weeks and months. Bless them in the area of their finances, Father, so that they may not only care for their day-to-day needs of those they are responsible for, but so that they may feed the poor around the world, those who are materially poor as well as those who are spiritually poor. I pray, today, a prayer of BLESSING on the finances of the person reading these words. Whatever we have in this life comes from you and is yours Father. May we be faithful in managing what you have given to us. Multiply many times over what you have currently given to the person reading this word today and allow them to be a great blessing to the work of God throughout the world. I pray BLESSINGS over the finances of the person reading these words today for the glory of Almighty God. In the name of Jesus. Amen!

I want to encourage you someday to take about an hour, sit down with your Bible, and look at all the scriptures concerning care for the poor and needy. One thing I have learned to understand about God and the way He has divinely given us His word, is when you see the same issue talked about over and over, especially throughout the Bible from the Old to New Testament, God is trying to emphasize a point.

He could not be clearer as to our responsibility to help the poor. Now of course, this immediately brings to mind mental images of the homeless, those begging on corners for food, the ones who occupy the shelters at night. But I want you to focus today, not on those who are financially poor, but those who are spiritually poor.

Throughout Jesus’ earthly ministry, He reached out to all segments of society. To those who had wealth and resources, He tried to focus them on their bankrupt spiritual life. Jesus said, “What shall it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul?”

Today, I want you to be aware of the “poor” people you may come in contact with every day, not financially poor, but spiritually poor. We have a responsibility to share the Good News of Jesus Christ, the hope and love of Christ with these people just as we would share a meal with someone who is hungry. It is not an option, but an obligation we have as followers of Christ to reach out to those who are hurting and need to know there are answers beyond the things of this world.

am going to pray today that you take this challenge to heart and really focus, not just on the visibly poor you may see each day, but also those who may have much worldly riches, but be broke spiritually. You see, in those difficult times we all face in life, losing a loved one, moving, changing jobs, troubles at home, whatever the issue may be, money can rarely help. Only the strength, wisdom, and love of Christ can get us through those most difficult times in our life.

Open your eyes today and look at those around you who may need a spiritual handout today to make it!

I love you and care for you. I deeply appreciate your kindness, prayers and loving support of our work at Liveprayer.com. I want to encourage you today to remember us as we are moving this ministry forward. Daily, we send out our Daily Devotional to over 2.4 million email accounts worldwide, and respond to over 40,000 special request emails daily. God has given us a great task to touch people’s lives via this Internet ministry.

I cannot do it alone. I need your prayers. I need your financial help since everything we do is available at no cost. Like all ministries, the support of friends like you makes it possible for us to do what we do each and every day. God has placed us in a position to minister on a daily basis to more people than even the largest churches and media ministries in the nation at a fraction of the cost. I have not slowed down what we are doing, in fact, have even become more aggressive in reaching out to those who are hurting, trusting God would honor our faithfulness.

YOU MAKE THAT POSSIBLE!

Thanks you for all you do. I deeply care about you. Pray today about helping those who are spiritually poor in your life. Pray about standing with me today in support of our work here at Liveprayer.com. It is no accident you are receiving these devotional each day, and no accident God is speaking to your heart right now. Listen and be obedient.

As we go into the last few days of September, please be in prayer with me for the operational finances we need to bring in right away. We still need to cover the $35,000 balance of our August shortfall, and the $65,000 we need for September operations!!!

As we prepare to take advantage of new doors the Lord is opening for us to have a highly visible place in the marketplace to help lead the remnant and call this nation back to God and His Truth, I’m simply asking you to pray today and seek the Lord what He is calling you to do to help me to cover this $95,00 balance to insure all of our basic operational needs are met. Never forget that God will honor your heart as you obey His voice. Will you help me today? Will you please take a minute today, and pray, seek the Lord what He is asking you to sacrifice.

The Old Hymns of the Church

(Psalms 44:5; Romans 8:37; 1 John 5:4)

***DAILY PERSONAL PRAYER FOR YOU: Dear Father, I thank you for this day. I know that today was not promised to me, but it is a gift from You. Dear God, You know the pain I have today from what has happened in my life. I am tired of carrying this pain with me day after day. It is robbing me of my joy, of my peace, of knowing the abundance that this life can offer. I trust Your Word today that tells me that I can give this burden to You, that You will take it from me. I trust Your Word today that tells me to cast my cares on You, because You care for me. In the name of Jesus, I give You the pain of my past today. In the name of Jesus, I surrender it to You. Take it from me, and fill me right now with Your joy, with Your peace, and let me live from this day forward in FREEDOM FROM MY PAST! In Jesus name I pray…AMEN!!!

One of the reasons that I love the old hymns of the church is because these incredibly gifted servants of God who wrote the classic hymns of our faith were, not only gifted in the area of music, but they intimately KNEW God, KNEW God’s Word, and were theologically 100% right on point in the message that they shared through their music. One of the great hymns of our faith is “Victory In Jesus”. My friend, I am here to tell you today, that no matter what battles that you may be fighting in your life today, no matter what obstacles that might be before you, no matter what struggles you may be dealing with . . . there is VICTORY IN JESUS!!!

You see, the trials and tribulations of this life are only temporary. The victory is not in winning every little skirmish that we encounter on our journey here, but in knowing Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. The VICTORY comes when our eternal destination is secured through our faith in Christ. After that, we can NEVER be defeated no matter what the situation, no matter what the world may say, no matter what happens to us. This life, this brief journey is fraught with problems, things to discourage us, daily set-backs. But it is our faith in Christ, who already GUARANTEED us that we would be eternally with Him, insures us no matter what the problems that we face today may be, we will live in ultimate victory because those problems will one day be gone and no longer part of our existence!

One of my goals each day as I share the hope and love of Christ with you, in the context of the real issues we all face in our daily journey, is to help you keep the big picture in focus. The small picture is the trials and tribulations in your life today. The big picture is the fact that when this brief journey here on earth is over, we will be eternally with Christ. We will eternally be with God our Creator. The trials and tribulations of this life will no longer exist. So my word for you today is to press forward, and to walk in the victory that you already have.

There is nothing, NO THING that you are facing today that you can not claim victory over. If it is your finances, claim VICTORY over your finances today! If it is a marriage problem, claim VICTORY over your marriage today! If it is a health issue, claim VICTORY over your healing today. IT DOES NOT MATTER WHAT PROBLEM THAT YOU ARE FACING TODAY . . . CLAIM 100% VICTORY OVER THAT PROBLEM TODAY!!! Jesus Christ went to a cross 2000 years ago and WON that victory for you! You are not defeated, you are victorious!!! You are not a loser, you are a winner if your faith is in Jesus Christ! WALK IN YOUR VICTORY TODAY!!!

I love you and care about you so much. Each day we get in over 40,000 prayer requests that my ministry team faithfully answers in a personal way. I personally answer about 100 requests each and every day. We have a special time of prayer at Liveprayer each day and we pray over every need that you send. I personally spend time each day in prayer for YOUR needs. I want you to understand today, that if you have accepted Jesus into your life by faith, no matter what your circumstances may be, YOU ARE WALKING TODAY IN VICTORY!!!!

“Man does not dictate your victory, your faith in Christ does.”

He already went to the cross and died so YOU, this day, could have victory over whatever problems that you are facing in your life.

As you go through your day, keep this word in your heart There is VICTORY IN JESUS! Despite what your circumstances may be this day, WALK IN THAT VICTORY, LIVE THAT VICTORY!!! Christ died so that you could enjoy complete victory in your life, regardless what this world may throw your way. Repeat these powerful words. There is VICTORY IN JESUS! THERE IS VICTORY IN JESUS! THERE IS VICTORY IN JESUS! Know that I am praying for you today.

In His love and service,

Your friend and brother in Christ,

Bill Keller

A Dearth of Spiritual Leaders

(Romans 13:7)

***DAILY PERSONAL PRAYER FOR YOU: Dear Lord, this nation is under your judgment for our sin, wickedness, and rebellion. Help me to be courageous as I stand for you in these perilous times. Use me as a beacon of your light in the darkness of our world today. Though our enemies surround us, the world around me curses you, help me to stand for your Truth that will ultimately defeat the lies of satan. May the evil of this world become so apparent, people will begin to bow their knee to you in repentance knowing YOU are their only hope and only answer! In the name of Jesus…AMEN!!!

A dearth of spiritual leaders! Whether you agreed with his politics or not, the fact is President Ronald Reagan was a leader in every sense of the word. A leader is a person with vision, the guts to stand up and declare that vision, the ability to inspire others to follow, the fortitude to persevere despite whatever opposition there may be, and the patience to see that vision become a reality. I want to use the life of President Reagan today to challenge you in your personal life to make the most of each day God gives you.

As I have shared with you often, our life on this earth is so brief and over so quick. James calls it a “vapor.” The Bible clearly teaches that tomorrow is promised to none of us. That is why we must make the most of each and every day. There are no do-overs. When this journey is over, it is over, we are not coming back. This is our one and only shot. Understanding that, it should become the desire of each of us to make each day count and live it to the fullest.

Very few people in their life will have the opportunity to become the President of the United States or the leader of a nation. However, EVERY PERSON has the ability to make a difference in this world no matter what you have been called to do. I don’t care if you are 15 or 115, rich or poor, male or female, what color your skin is, YOU can make an impact on this world with your life.

God gives each of us passions, things that we develop a love for throughout our life. God gives each of us gifts, special abilities that come naturally to us. Throughout our life God opens and closes doors. It is through these passions we have, through the gifts we have received and developed, and through the opportunities that life presents us, that each person can make an impact on this world during the course of their life.

You see, God needs His children in every area of life. He calls His children to be teachers, doctors, scientists, astronauts, pilots, police officers, fire fighters, secretaries, bank tellers, garbage collectors, janitors, nurses, homemaker, car dealers, mechanics, farmers, politicians, entertainers, lawyers, writers, stock brokers, and any other profession you can name. Throughout the course of a person’s life, God may call someone to do many different things. The point is, whatever career or profession you are in, you can make a difference. The key is to do your very best each day and realize that your life matters.

Of course, no matter how much we may accomplish in our life, our greatest legacy will be those lives we touch for Christ along our journey. You see my friend, no matter what your passions may be, what your gifts may be, what career or occupation you have, we all have the same purpose in this life. That is to serve and glorify God with our lives. All that we do in this life comes back to our God-given purpose which is to serve and glorify Him. The money we accumulate, the property we own, all of the things of this world will one day pass away, but those lives we impact for Christ will last for eternity!

I love you and care about you so much. I want to challenge you today that YOU can make a difference in this world! You may never become President of the United States, but you can make a difference in whatever career or occupation you are in. The key is to wake up each morning, do the very best you can, and as God opens doors in your life be bold enough to walk through them. More than ever, this nation needs SPIRITUAL LEADERS, men and women of God who without fear will stand in the marketplace of this lost world and proclaim the Truth of God’s Word and the Gospel of Jesus Christ!

Of course, never forget that no matter where God may have you working during each season of your life, He has placed you there as His ambassador. You are not there by accident, but God has placed you where you are at in life to share with others you meet along your journey the hope and love of Jesus Christ and the truth of His Word. That will be your real legacy when this brief journey is over, those lives you impact for Christ.

The reality of this life is that one day, sooner than any of us expect, it will be over. At that moment we will be instantly in the presence of God our Creator (2 Cor 5:8). At that moment, God is not going to be interested in the name of the church you attended, what your job was in this life, even if you were the President of the Untied States, how much money you have, or how many buildings have your name on them. No my friend, the only thing God is going to be interested in is do you have a personal relationship with His Son Jesus Christ. For those who do, God will say, “enter into my rest.” AMEN!

My word to you today is this. Go out and make an impact in this world in whatever God has called you to do with your life. Make your life matter! Along the way, never forget that you have been called to serve and glorify Him with your life and your lasting legacy will be those lives you touch for Christ along your journey!

In His love and service,

Your friend and brother in Christ,

Bill Keller

The Misguided Drive for Money over Souls

(Matthew 6:19-21; Hebrews 13:5; 2 Corinthians 2:17; 1 Timothy 6:10)

***DAILY PERSONAL PRAYER FOR YOU: Dear Lord, help me this day to be a great ambassador for you! Let my conversation and my actions today draw people to your hope and love. In the name of Jesus I pray…AMEN!

The misguided drive for money over souls has several major ministries in deep trouble and has given another black eye to the cause of Christ. I have told you for over 17 years now that the insatiable lust for money by many of the leading media ministries not only contributes to the stereotype that people only serve the Lord to get rich, but helps the unbelieving world justify their rejection of Christ.

Several years ago, a Senate investigation led by Republican Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley, the ranking member of the Senate Committee on Finance, looked into the financial dealings of Joyce Meyer, Benny Hinn, Creflo Dollar, Eddie Long, Kenneth Copeland, and Randy and Paula White (who have subequently divorced). I have no idea how the greatest abusers of selling Christ for money , the major Christian TV networks like TBN and Daystar to name the largest, weren’t included.

I wondered how long was it going to be before someone in government decided having multiple multi-million dollar mansions, private jets, new Rolls Royces, and living like the kings of small nations….ALL ON THE MONEY PEOPLE DONATE TO A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION…might be legal but isn’t right. Having operated a non-profit ministry for nearly 25 years, and overseeing the Liveprayer annual budget of just under $1 million annually, let me give you some of my thoughts and insight into this and challenge you this morning in your giving.

When this investigation was eventually over and the dust is settled, none of these ministries broke the law or lost their tax exempt status. I am certain each one were audited by the IRS and were forced to declare as personal income and pay taxes on many of the expenses they charged off to the ministry. Sadly, their work is going to be forever damaged and never be as effective as it once was since they have lost the most critical asset a ministry, church, or any work of God can have… trust

Let me say right up front that there is NOTHING in the Bible that says a man or woman of God is supposed to live in poverty. That is as incorrect as those who teach you are supposed to be wealthy. The Bible says that a servant is “worthy of their hire,” and to “not muzzle the ox that treadeth the corn.” For those who give their entire life to serving God, whose only work is the Gospel, how else are they supposed to live? Yes, I know Paul made tents, FOR A SEASON. Paul’s ministry also survived on the sacrificial gifts of God’s people.

So this is not about calling God’s servants to live in poverty, but to live modestly. The Bible says to avoid all appearances of evil. There are many sacrifices that you make to serve the Lord, and unless you are personally wealthy outside of the ministry, living an extravagant lifestyle off of those who donate to the ministry is simply not an option. I don’t think anyone objects to their pastor or the head of a ministry being fairly compensated.

This is exactly why Liveprayer has operated out of donated space in the back of a used car lot for over 17 years now. We own no property, we own no cars, we have no stock portfolios or any other investments. The ministry literally operates month to month. My wife and I live in a $250,000 home that has a $305,000 mortgage on it due to the real estate crash a few years ago, have a 6 year old and 13 year old car, and my annual salary that was less than $40,000 has been only basic living expenses for the past 6 years due to the financial challenges we have faced at Liveprayer.

Listen, I know I have probably gone a bit overboard in trying to be a good steward of the money people donate to Liveprayer and could certainly justify better offices and a larger salary, but my goal is SOULS and to take the Truth to this lost and dying world, NOT get rich and live a life of luxury. I’ve made these decisions based on my many years in the ministry and have done everything I could possibly do to distance myself and set myself apart from these other folks since I am trying to build God’s Kingdom, not my own. I am here to serve, not be served. My only goal is SOULS, not to live like the CEO of a Fortune 500 company.

Sadly, that Senate investigation was just another black eye and scar on the Christian faith. The PTL scandal that was followed quickly by the Jimmy Swaggart scandal in the late 80s were huge blows to the faith. Even today people commonly refer to Bakker and his greed. The funny thing is he wrote a book after he got out of prison called, “I Was Wrong,” denouncing his greed and constant drive for more money. He needs to go back and read his own book, since he is right back into his old habits, now operating out of Branson with his new wife, airing on a handful of Christian stations, and relentlessly hammering people for money again just like nothing ever happened.

I am very familiar with and have worked with most of the top Christian media ministries back in the 90s. I can tell you that every one started out with the purest of motives and a deep desire to serve God. God blesses their work, they started to grow, and one day they woke up and had this huge monster (the infrastructure) that had to be fed. Pretty soon it was not about ministry any longer, but the money. As more money flowed in, they started to believe they deserved it. They deserved a $10 million home. They deserved a new $30 million Gulfstream. They deserved to stay in $4,000 a night hotel suites when on the road. Satan totally corrupted their minds and money became their god and the ministry was simply their business.

I love you and care about you so much. The worst thing of all is that scandals like this will sadly lead many souls to eternal punishment. People will harden their hearts even more to the message of Christ because some of God’s messengers made bad choices with the money God entrusted into their care. Pray for these ministries, their families and staffs. Pray that they will get back to their first love, the Lord, and let the Holy Spirit guide them in bringing their financial houses in order. Also, pray that non-believers will see that money is not all that Christianity is about.

I encourage people all the time to pray about where they give some of what God has entrusted into their care. Make sure you know the ministry you are giving to and what the money is being used for. Yes we are blessed in our giving, but we have also been given common sense in where to give. Know the Bible. Giving money to some ministry is not going to get you out of debt overnight, it is not going to save your children overnight, and it is not going to heal you overnight, it is not going to make you rich overnight. If you are “giving to get,” you are giving with the wrong motives. You should be giving as an act of sacrifice and worship, and giving to be a blessing. As a good steward, you should be giving to make an impact for Christ in people’s lives.

That is why each month I have no hesitation in asking you to help me. I don’t play games with you or try to manipulate you in any way. I openly and honestly share our needs and ask you to pray about helping me. The money we raise each month at Liveprayer goes directly to reaching souls for Christ and bringing God’s Truth into the marketplace. I’ve told you many times, the time for playing games is over. SOULS ARE AT STAKE AND SATAN IS NOT PLAYING GAMES!

God knows how to clean house when He has had enough. There is not much time left and God is raising up a new generation of voices to carry His Truth who are not bound by money or the things of this temporal world. They can’t be bought like a tube of toothpaste and won’t ever compromise the Bible for any reason. Their only goal is not the applause of men (or the money of man), but the “Well done,” of the Father!

Your friend and brother in Christ,

People have not Really Changed since God Created Adam and Eve

(Judges 3:9, 4:1, 21:25)

People have not really changed since God created Adam and Eve. While billions and billions of people have lived and died since the first man and woman, people have not changed. A great study in human behavior is found in the Book of Judges. I want to encourage you today to take some time in the next few days and sit down and read the entire Book of Judges. It will take you less than an hour, and be worth every minute. Sadly, the spiritual lives of most Christians are exactly like the spiritual lives of the children of Israel in the Book of Judges. Here is how the pattern goes.

While everything is going great in your life, God slowly stops being your top priority. Actually, He often gets put far down the list of priorities. You quit praying every day, having that meaningful time alone, just you and the Lord. You quit reading your Bible every day. Going to church is not a MUST any longer. Allowing God to use you to bless others with your life isn’t a burning desire. If it happens, that is fine, but it is not that important.

As God plays less of a role in your daily life, you slowly start making choices that you would not make when you are in that close, daily relationship with Him. At the time, they seem like harmless choices. But as the days go by, you are making more and more choices that are NOT pleasing to God. Deep down you know this, but you justify it by telling yourself that you deserve to have some fun, to do what YOU want to do. Slowly over time, it is no longer what God wants from your life, but only what YOU want.

One morning you wake up and your life is a mess. You see my friend, SIN ALWAYS HAS CONSEQUENCES. THERE IS ALWAYS A PRICE FOR SIN–A BIG PRICE. The Bible tells us, “Satan comes to kill, steal, and destroy.” When you forget God, when you quit making Him the head of your life, when you put God on the shelf because you think that you don’t need Him, you have opened the door for satan to come in and destroy you!

Trust me, at first it won’t be anything that bad. Satan is the great deceiver. He will deceive you into thinking that you don’t need God. He will deceive you into thinking that it is YOUR LIFE, and you should do whatever YOU want to do. The longer that we live without God, the more choices that we make without praying, the deeper in sin we get. Sin is like quicksand, we sink slowly, and when God tries to get our attention, we ignore Him and sink deeper.

It is only when we are facing insurmountable odds, only when we have hit bottom, only when life is crashing down all around us that we finally decide to cry out to God. Look at the Prodigal Son. He had to lose everything, and be living in the worst conditions imaginable until he went home to his father. In our desperation we go to God, we repent, we ask His forgiveness, and we rededicate our lives to Him. Does that mean all of our problems magically go away overnight? NO! We didn’t create our problems overnight, and they rarely go away overnight.

But we do now have God back in our lives and He is fighting for us, giving us the strength to get through each day, giving us the hope we need to move forward. Having God back in our lives doesn’t eliminate us from having to deal with the consequences of our ungodly choices, but over time, He will help us to be victorious. Our life will be great again!!! We will look forward to waking up each morning. We will once again know the peace, the joy, the abundance that this life can offer. Many however, like the children of Israel in the Book of Judges, will sadly start to forget God again, and the cycle will be repeated all over.

I love you and care about you so much. I pray today that this message opens the hearts of many as this trap satan uses so effectively is exposed. Here is the truth that I never want you to forget. ***WE NEED GOD ON THE MOUNTAINTOP…JUST AS MUCH AS WE NEED GOD IN THE VALLEY!!! Let me repeat that. WE NEED GOD ON THE MOUNTAINTOP…JUST AS MUCH AS WE NEED GOD IN THE VALLEY!!!

We all know to call on the Lord in our time of trouble. My word for you today is to call on Him ALWAYS!!! In this life, we will always have trials. No matter how close we are to the Lord, we all have to fight the day to day issues of living in this sin-filled world. Nobody can escape that. However, when we stay close to God each day, we can minimize the problems in our life that WE CAUSE through our rebellion!

Do you only call on God in your time of need? My admonition for you today is to call on Him EVERY DAY. Keep Him first at ALL TIMES. God has revealed to YOU today a common trap men and women from the beginning have fallen into. Receive this word from the Lord today and walk with God every day of your journey here on earth. Call on Him in your time of need AND in your time of plenty!!!

In His love and service,

Your friend and brother in Christ,

Bill Keller
