As Many of You Know I am a Very Big Sports Fan

(Ephesians 5:15,16)

As many of you know, I am a very big sports fan. Sports has been a part of my life since I was very little. I have played and still do play many different sports regularly, and have always followed all sports at all levels. Most weekends, I usually spend several hours in front of the television watching whatever sporting event is on. While it is something that I enjoy, there are some weekends that I overdo it and wonder if that was the best use of my time.

As I have stated in past Devotionals, each day is a wonderful gift from God. It is unique unto itself, and when it is gone it is never coming back. The one equalizer all people enjoy is that we each get 24 hours each day. The issue then becomes how we use that time God gives us.

I am a firm believer in balance. I believe the Bible teaches us to live balanced lives. Balance between our work, our family, our time of relaxation, and our time serving God. Of course, throughout all of this, the thread that runs through every aspect of our life is our personal relationship with the Lord. That is with us at all times, and is a part of everything we do.

We can’t delegate our relationship with Christ to being just a part of our life, but it must be the common element in ALL of our life.

Having said that, I want to encourage you and challenge you today to take 15 minutes and sit down with a legal pad. Set up the following categories down the left hand side of the page. Work/School, Family, Recreation, Serving God, Sleep. Now, there are 168 hours in a week. As best as you can, fill in the amount of hours you spend in each category. The family time is time you spend with your wife and/or children doing things together. The recreation time includes TV, the Internet, as well as any hobbies you may have. Time involved in church activities and worship would be included in the Serving God section.

A good balance would be 40-50 hours in Work/School, 40-50 hours in Sleep, and 20-30 hours a week in Family, Recreation, and Serving God. Now, of course, this will vary depending on your living situations and other factors, but it will at least give you some idea in black and white of how you spend your time.

The purpose of this is two-fold. First, to again get you to realize that in ALL aspects of our life, our personal relationship with Christ must be present. Secondly though, most people I have counseled in this area over the years end up with the Family, Recreation, and Serving God sections totally out of balance. It is usually weighted heavily in the Recreation area.

Most need to make an effort to turn off the TV and computer more, and spend more time with the family and in ways to serve the Lord. We often use the TV, computer, books, and hobbies as avenues of escape. There is nothing wrong with that in perspective. It is a problem though when we fail to deal properly with our family issues and commitments, when we have hours to spend watching TV, but have no time to help out at church.

I love you and care about you so much!!! I don’t need to say any more about this. The Holy Spirit is more than able to take these words and convict those who need convicting. I will be praying for you today, that you pay attention to how you are spending your time. Never forget that each day is a precious gift from God and we are to be good stewards of all that God gives us, including time.

The Lord has brought these words into your life today to show you how much He loves you. He wants you to be the best you can be and know ALL of His blessings in your life. The fact is, the time we have in this life is so very brief. While we need to balance our time as we live in this world, let us never forget that everything we are and everything we have, including our time, belongs to Him.

In His love and service,
Your friend and brother in Christ,
Bill Keller

One of the Most Encouraging Things the Bible Teaches Us is that God is a God of Restoration

(John 21:15-17)

One of the most encouraging things the Bible teaches us, is that God is a God of restoration. The Bible tells us that we all sin and fall short of God’s glory, but what happens to us after we sin is what I want to focus on today. One of the most visible sins in the Bible has to be Peter’s denial of Christ. After following the Lord, living with Him, seeing the miracles, hearing the teachings, even being so bold to proclaim Jesus to be, “The Son of the living God” — this same Peter in fear of his life denies even knowing who Jesus is.

If the story of Peter ended there, it would indeed be tragic. However, we see that same Peter, just days later in John Chapter 21 being restored to fellowship by Jesus. We then read about that same Peter in the book of Acts, becoming a pillar upon which the early church was founded, boldly proclaiming Christ without regard to his own life any longer. The lesson is that in spite of our sin, God is a God of restoration so that He can use us to fulfill His plan.

After we sin, the most important thing we can do before the restoration process takes place is to confess our sin and ask God’s forgiveness. 1 John 1:9 tells us that if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us, and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. God wants to forgive you! God wants to cleanse you! But you have to make the first move. You have to swallow your pride and admit to God you sinned. You have to be sick enough of the sin to want to be rid of it once and for all.

I am not talking about that “morning after” confession either. I am talking about that confession that says I am sorry, and I am ready to walk away from this sin once and for all. We all feel sorry for our sins after we commit them. The issue is whether we are ready to deal with them once and for all, and allow the restoration process to begin. My friend, it is not God holding back that process, it is you. You have to be serious about getting rid of the sin that is in your life.

Once we make up our mind and decide to make the necessary changes to walk away from our sin, we then confess our sins and repent, and have now opened the door for God to restore us. You see, God never stops having a plan for your life. Don’t forget, your purpose is to serve and glorify Him. He desires to restore us to fellowship, not only because He loves us, but because He still has work for us to do.

If you are looking for that peace, that joy, that abundant life the Bible speaks of; I am telling you that you will ONLY find it in a daily, intimate relationship with Christ. You will only find it in a life totally and unconditionally surrendered to Him and His will. You will only find it when you are fulfilling your God-given purpose of serving and glorifying Him with your life.

Be encouraged today, God is not through using you. He still has a perfect plan and purpose for your life. It is now up to you. Just like He restored Peter, and used Peter in a mighty way, God wants to use you. The only difference between you and Peter is that Peter turned from his sin, repented and confessed his sins to the Lord…thus opening the door to God’s forgiveness and restoration.

I love you and care about you so much. God loves you so much. Turn from your sin, confess and repent of those sins, and let God restore you today. No matter what you have done, God’s grace is sufficient and His love is endless. He wants to say to you, just as He said to Peter, “Do you love me? Feed my sheep.”

Your friend and brother in Christ,
Bill Keller

The Cause of Most Conflicts between People is a Lack of Open and Honest Conversation

(Proverbs 16:24, 25:11; Job 6:25)

By far, the cause of most conflicts between people is a lack of open and honest conversation. Holding your thoughts and feelings inside, not saying what really needs to be said is not only the primary source of conflict between a husband and wife, but in ALL interpersonal relationships. Marriages, families, friendships end up broken because people have differences and they never sit down and discuss them with each other.

People are often shy, uncomfortable in talking about areas of conflict. It is not comfortable. So they put it off. Hours become days, days become weeks, weeks become months, and months become years. The longer the issues are not discussed, the more bitterness, even hatred grows. In many cases, it could have been all avoided by simply sitting down and talking.

One problem is that God makes each of us different. Some have a very aggressive, bold personality, while others are very laid back. It is often the case where the aggressive individual will suppress and mentally bully the more passive person in a time of conflict. This is where prayer and being sensitive to God comes in. We know when there is a conflict with someone that is in our life. We make the decision to either put the conflict on the back-burner, or deal with it.

The word for you today is to deal with it! The sooner the better. Those who have a more dominant personality must ask the Lord to be more passive, while a more passive person must pray for boldness. The fact is, resolving conflicts takes patience, openness, honesty, and ultimately some compromise on BOTH sides. Prayer is the best way to start a discussion of a conflict, and prayer is the best way to end the discussion.

Ultimately, it takes God to resolve conflicts between people. The fact is, you can not force someone to think or act a certain way. God gave us all freewill. You are not responsible for the actions of someone else. You can not control how another person thinks or acts. Only God can bring a person under conviction to change. It is only God who can change a person’s heart. But, you do have the ability to share your feelings, and you have the greatest weapon of all, prayer.

I love you, and I care about you very much. Each day is a blessing as we take this journey together. I will be praying for you today to really hear what God is saying to you in these words this morning. If you are currently having conflicts with a spouse, a family member, a friend, go talk to them. Sit down, one on one and talk it out. Don’t expect miracles to happen, but know God is able to work in their heart, and yours.

The fact is, once you have talked, and done all you can do, there is a freedom. It is now no longer on you, but on God. You have done all you can do. That is all God ever expects. Do your best, give it everything you have, and then simply commit it to prayer. The ball is now in God’s court.

As great a basketball player as Michael Jordan is, as great a golfer as Tiger Woods is, they still failed to win at times. Having the ball in God’s hands is a guarantee that we will win. After all, it is His will, not our will we are after. When we do all that we can do, and it is in God’s hands, His will is going to be done even though we may not agree with it, or be pleased by it. Part of our spiritual growth is to exercise our faith and accept God’s answer.

God will ALWAYS have the final word in every situation!!!

In His love and service,
Your friend and brother in Christ,
Bill Keller

Reading the Book of Haggai, I Realized People have never Really Changed even after All These Years

(Haggai 1:3-11)

As I was reading the Bible the other night, I was reading the Book of Haggai and realized that people have never really changed even after all of these years. How much the people of God spoken about in the Book of Haggai were EXACTLY like the people of God today. Let me set the context for you. The year is 520 BC. King Darius, the Medo-Persian King, allowed a remnant of the children of Israel to return to Jerusalem after being held in captivity for 70 years by the Babylonians so that they could rebuild the Temple.

However, the people of God were not as interested in rebuilding the house of God as they were in building their own houses. God spoke through His prophet, Haggai, to let them know that because of their selfishness, they were missing the blessings of God. That is what I want to share with you today! How because of our selfishness, we are living beneath God’s blessings. How we become so focused on OUR LIFE, on OUR GOALS, on OUR DREAMS, and on OUR DESIRES, we have forsaken the work of God and are missing His blessings.

There is not one person reading this today that doesn’t want God’s blessings in their life. Even those who don’t believe there is a God, still want His blessings. The reality is, GOD WANTS TO BLESS YOU! Jesus said, “it is your Father’s pleasure to give you the Kingdom.” But just like there are natural laws that govern the earth, there are spiritual laws that govern the Kingdom of God. Let me give you the key to God’s blessings. GOD CANNOT AND WILL NOT BLESS DISOBEDIENCE. Let me say that one more time. GOD CANNOT AND WILL NOT BLESS DISOBEDIENCE.

If you want God’s blessings, the first thing that you must do is live in accordance with His Word. The Bible tells us that “to obey is better than sacrifice.” God said, “Oh that their hearts would be inclined to fear me and keep all my commands always, so that it might go well with them and their children forever.” GOD’S BLESSINGS FLOW FROM OUR OBEDIENCE!!!

So, let’s go one step further and look at the very first commandment. “Thou shalt have no other gods before me.” Most of us feel pretty safe that we obey this commandment. After all, we don’t worship the sun, or the clouds, or a chair, or a tree. We don’t have hundreds of gods that we pray to. But I want to tell you today that whenever you put yourself before God, you have literally taken Him off HIS throne and put yourself on it! You have said, “My will not thy will be done.”

How can we live in blatant disobedience to the very first commandment and still expect God to bless us? He can’t and He won’t! That is why the Bible says, “You expected much, but see, it turned out to be little.” If we truly want God’s blessings, the first step is to put God back in His rightful place, on His throne as the Lord of our life and live in obedience to what He calls us to do each day.

I love you and care about you so much. Today’s scripture really shows us how empty this life can be without God’s blessings. It is no wonder why so many turn to drugs, alcohol, sex, food, money-anything to escape. It is frustrating to live without God’s blessings. I am not talking so much about the material blessings as I am the SPIRITUAL BLESSINGS.

Don’t you realize that there is no amount of money to buy true peace, not enough gold in the world to buy real joy, not enough real estate on the planet to buy the abundant life that God has offered us. What price can you put on hope? This world is lost, hurting, and without hope because it is living without God and without His blessings.

I will be praying for you today to accept the same challenge that the prophet Haggai gave the children of Israel 2,500 years ago. Start rebuilding the house of God in your heart. Take the focus off of building YOUR HOUSE, and put it on building GOD’S HOUSE.

Take the focus off of what YOU want to do, and put it on what God wants you to do. God wants to bless you abundantly so that you eat and are full, so that you drink and are never thirsty. God wants to bless YOU TODAY! Isn’t it time to stop living beneath His blessings, and start receiving all of the blessings that HE has for your life?

In His love and service,
Your friend and brother in Christ,

Bill Keller

Over the Years You have been an Incredible Blessing to Me and the Work of God at Liveprayer

(John 3:16)

My Friend,

Over the years, you have been an incredible blessing to me and the work of God here at Liveprayer. You have stored up many treasures in Glory for your obedience to pray and sacrifce to help me bring God’s Truth to the marketplace and the hope and love of Christ to the lost and hurting. Many souls will be in Heaven because you cared!!!

We are embarking on our final work for God, a monumental effort to bring Jesus to ground zero, save souls, spark a revival in the great city of New York, and use this effort to turn our nation back to God and His Truth. In the meantime, we have the ongoing daily work of Liveprayer to tend to as we have for nearly 11 years now.

Over the weekend, I read about investor Warren Buffett who just gave $3 BILLION in his deceased wife’s memory to fund and further the slaughter of innocent babies in this nation. I than read of 2 major “Christian TV stars,” one in the process of a divorce, the other twice divorced, having an romantic affair. They were in a $10,000 a night suite in Rome, Italy, flying there on the ministries $50 million private jet.

Liveprayer has never generated tens of millions of dollars since I don’t preach to the choir on Christian TV so I can build my own kingdom and live like the ruler of a small nation. I don’t play the “games” other major ministries do, compromising the Truth of God’s Word in order to build my kingdom. Instead, I go into the secular media with people like Howard Stern, air the Liveprayer TV program only on secular stations, knowing these people aren’t going to donate to Liveprayer, but knowing that I can give them the greatest gift of all, the love and promise of Jesus Christ!

To be honest, because I don’t compromise the Truth, I have lost millions of subscribers and thousands of donors over the years because I dared to tell people what the Bibls teaches about the issues of the day. This is why most pastors and TV preachers won’t touch most issues and are “politically correct” since it costs them donations!!! The modern day church marketing strategies aren’t designed to save souls, but water down the Truth fo attract warm bodies (and lots of donations!).

Yet by God’s grace, every day nearly 2.5 million people worldwide are ministered to, we respond each day to over 40,000 emails for prayer, and have seen over 500,000 souls we know of come to faith in Christ. We have literally operated month to month for nearly 11 years now! WE HAVE TAKEN A FEW LOAVES AND FISHES AND FED THE MASSES FOR 11 YEARS THIS AUGUST!!!

Liveprayer still operates in the back of the same used car lot we started in back in August of 1999. I have a bare bones dedicated staff of a only a few Godly people. I still take a salary of less than $60,000 annually. I didn’t get into the minsitry 20 yrs ago to see how much money I could make and spend, but to see souls saved and bring God’s Truth to the lost and hurting in the marketplace the church and major ministries has abandoned because it isn’t a place they can amass their millions!

***As of today, I still need $58,000 by Friday to cover the balance of our July operational expenses and the rest of our 2009 expenses that are overdue and need to be paid immediately!!! I desperately need $17,000 of those funds today! If you can help me today by sending a gift of $5,000 or more today via bank wire, please contact me for our wiring instructions at:

God has richly blessed many to be able to richly bless the masses! After nearly 20 years, 11 years of Liveprayer, our track record speaks for itself. The gifts to this minsitry have never been used for anything but to save souls and bring God’s Truth to the lost masses!!! I need you to make the most generous gift you possibly can by the end of the week.

Please cut and paste the Devotional I have included below about the new 9-11 Christian Center at Ground Zero and send it to everyone that you know. I need everyone’s prayer. Also, you know people who loves the Lord and can send a gift to help me. Please, take the time and effort to share Liveprayer with those people you know who can help me financially. Encourage them to get involved in this great work of God here at Liveprayer. Also, share this need with your pastor and see what your church can do to help me.

I need you to take time today and pray about what you can sacrifce to help me with the finances we need for our daily operations at Liveprayer, the finances for the new 9-11 Christian Center at Ground Zero, and share this opportunity with those you know who love the Lord. God has given so many of you great wisdom, I need only a a few to make the committment to use your wisdom, your connections, your resources to help me raise the funds we need to bring the hope of Jesus to the lost and help me turn this nation back to God and His Truth!

PLEASE MAKE YOUR SACRIFICE! HELP ME TODAY! We don’t need $50 million for a new plane, or $10 million for a building, simply a fraction of that to save souls and turn our nation back to God and His Truth! Less than 1/4 of 1% of those we minister to every donate a penny to Liveprayer. However, God has always used the faithfulness of the few to feed the many!
You can make a gift to Liveprayer on your major credit card at our website under the “Donation” button, or you can give from your PayPal account by using my email address, , or you can mail a gift to: Liveprayer 6660 46th Avenue North St. Petersburg, Florida 33709 *For a gift to the 9-11 Christian Center, please mark 9-11 on your check, or put (9-11) next to your name on the credit card or PayPal form. All gifts to Liveprayer are 100% tax deductible.

—> If you are able to send a gift of $5,000 or more, I would be happy to give you our bank wiring instructions or FedEx account information. Just email me at for that information.

I love you and care about you!

Thank you for taking your stand with me. I know times are difficult, but we have been here on the front lines for 11 years now. I am not asking you to give me a dime, but help me save souls and bring God’s Truth they marketplace. Our time is short and we are on the verge of seeing a real revival in this nation. It won’t happen in the church or on Christian TV, it will happen in the streets!!!

May you and your family be richly blessed as you take your stand for the Lord with me!

Hallowed Ground – The World’s Greatest City and a Nation in Spiritual Freefall

(1 Corinthians 6:20)

Hallowed ground, the world’s greatest city, and a nation in spiritual freefall. Last Saturday morning I stood at ground zero, looking into the giant hole where the World Trade Center towers once proudly stood. I had been to ground zero several years ago, but this time was different since in just a few weeks we would begin a work of God near this precious site that could spark a real revival in the world’s greatest city and turn our nation back to God and His Truth.

What we are putting together is not another church, but a true evangelistic work to save souls, help spark a revival in the most visible city in the world, and ultimately rescue the soul of our once great nation. After nearly 20 years in the ministry, the last 11 years literally on the front lines 24/7/365, I don’t need to plant an evangelistic Christian Center at ground zero, deal with the incredible strongholds in a city like New York, or even try to turn an entire nation back to God and His Truth.

I wish I could just quietly live my life. Who needs the hate-filled emails every day, the websites and blogs dedicated to trying to stop me from serving the Lord, the media stories that portray me as some sort of fringe-lunatic whacko hate monger, the mail filled with feces, the threats of personal harm and even death, on top of the endless spiritual battles. Trust me, I am under no illusion that the 9-11 Christian Center at Ground Zero is only going to intensify all of this exponentially.

Those who oppose the God of the Bible, His Son Jesus, the Truth of God’s Word, have always come after those who seek to serve God since the very beginning. Nothing has changed. Men and women sold out to God over these last 6,000 years have sacrificed their lives, dealt with the persecution in whatever form it took, since they knew their life had a higher purpose. Life is a one-time shot. When it is over, the only real legacy you leave are those eternal things you did for the Lord.

Sadly, most aren’t willing to pay the price. They aren’t willing to sacrifce their very life for the Kingdom of God. It has been those few who did that have formed the foundation of faith we enjoy today. It is now our turn to keep that foundation strong for future generations should the Lord tarry in His return. It is now our turn to make our lives count for Christ!!!

This past weekend, I had the pleasure of meeting several dozen of men and women sold out to the Lord at our New York and Connecticut meetings. These people came to hear about the new 9-11 Christian Center at Ground Zero and to see what role God may be calling them to play. These are normal people, with normal lives, who love the Lord, and simply want to give their lives to serve Him.

I am coming to you and asking you to do 3 things for me. First, pray. This is something everyone can do. I need all the prayers I can get as we move forward with the 9-11 Christian Center at Ground Zero. Second, participate. Even if you can’t come to New York, you can participate by telling others you know. Please forward this Devotional to every person you know.

Third, pledge. I need to raise $410,000 for the first phase by the end of August, $2 million for the second phase by the end of November, and the final $6 million by the end of December. I realize that many are facing financial hardships at this time, however you know people who love the Lord and who God has blessed. Your “gift” can be encouraging them to help me. You can contact your church about making a special “missions gift” to the 9-11 Christian Center at Ground Zero. People will give to support this great work we are starting at ground zero, they simply need to know what we are doing and that we need their help. Pray about who God is leading you to share this with.

*By the way, the $8.4 million we are raising is a fraction of what the Muslims are spending on this memorial to their greatest accomplishment yet, the destruction of the World Trade Center towers on 9/11. For what some churches spend on a building to hold a congregation of 1,000 that meets one hour a week, we can see souls saved at ground zero, spark a real revival in New York City, and have the platform to turn this nation back to God and His Truth!

We will need to raise $10,000 immediately to cover our initial costs prior to opening September 5th. By the end of August, we need to raise $400,000. $100,000 of that will cover the weekly services of the 9-11 Christian Center at Ground Zero from September through the end of the year. $300,000 will be used to air the Liveprayer TV program each day in the New York City TV market on a major secular station. As we have learned over the years, the TV program is a critical element to keep the daily flow of God’s Truth regarding the issues of the day, to minister to people’s needs, to bring the lost to faith in Christ, to promote the 9-11 Christian Center at Ground Zero, but will also help to attract financial support for this effort.

From September through the end of the year, we will need to raise the $8 million needed to operate at full capacity during 2011. $1 million of that will go towards the operations expenses of the 9-11 Christian Center at Ground Zero during 2011, $1 million will cover the years TV budget in the local New York market during 2011, and the other $6 million will allow the program to be aired nationally on a major secular network during 2011. If the Muslims can raise $110 million dollars to construct their mosque and help lead souls to the fires of hell for all eternity, can we not raise just $8,410,000 for a place people can come to find Truth and salvation, while having the national platform in the marketplace to lead this nation back to God and Biblcial Truth???

You can make a gift to Liveprayer on your major credit card at our website under the “Donation” button, or you can give from your PayPal account by using my email address, , or you can mail a gift to: Liveprayer 6660 46th Avenue North St. Petersburg, Florida 33709 *For a gift to the 9-11 Christian Center, please mark 9-11 on your check, or put (9-11) next to your name on the credit card or PayPal form. All gifts to Liveprayer are 100% tax deductible.

If you are able to send a gift of $5,000 or more, I would be happy to give you our bank wiring instructions or FedEx account information. Just email me at for that information.

I love you and care about you so much. It is no accident or coincidence you are reading this today! Everyone has to make their own choices in life. I want you to understand that when you make the choice to accept Jesus as your Savior, the Bible says that it is no longer your life any longer, that it now belongs to Him. But how many people really surrender their life, their entire life to Jesus? Have you?

Will you stand with me as we bring the uncompromised Gospel to ground zero? This hallowed ground will always be remembered for what happened their on 9/11, but what a testimony to God, it will now be used to see souls won for Christ and a place where the sparks of revival take over the entire city…and nation!!!

Let God use your life to help me change the spiritual course of millions of lives, a great city, and our nation!!! PRAY….PARTICIPATE….PLEDGE!!!

As A Child of God We have All been Commanded, Not Asked, To Serve Him

(Mark 10:43; John 13:14; Matthew 10:42; Psalms 40:8; Matthew 20:28)

As a child of God, we have all been commanded, not asked, to serve Him. It is part of the responsibility of being in the family of God to serve. One of the issues that I get hundreds of emails about each day is people who are serving the Lord and because things didn’t work out exactly as they planned, feel like they have failed. There is a word I want to impart into your life today that I don’t want you to EVER forget. THERE IS NO FAILURE WITH GOD!

Let me share something with you. When you are serving the Lord, NOTHING ever always works out the way YOU planned, but it ALWAYS works out the way God planned! Please, let me repeat that one more time to insure you get this. When you are serving the Lord, NOTHING ever always works out the way YOU planned, but it ALWAYS works out the way God planned. You see, when you are truly serving God, it is God, not you, who is in control. You are the clay, not the potter! Does the clay tell the potter what to do?

The key to serving the Lord is two things, our obedience and our faithfulness. Those are the two things that we have 100% control over. We can obey and we can be faithful. When God has an obedient and faithful servant, He has a servant He can truly use and work through. Again, that is what we are, God’s servants. When it is us, when we are doing it, it is simply a work of flesh and blood and the dynamic power of the Holy Spirit is missing. When it is God and we are yielded to Him, the supernatural power of His Spirit can move and incredible things happen.

The problem we have in serving the Lord is getting caught up in how the world defines success. The world says a church of 5,000 is a huge success and a church of 50 is a failure. The world says the pastor of the church of 5,000 is doing great things and the man who pastors the church of 50 obviously doesn’t know what he is doing. However, God says that if the church of 5,000 is simply a Christian country club where people are coming to be entertained for an hour a week, having their ears tickled, never hearing the power of the Gospel but simply being coddled, yet in the church of 50 the people are being fed the Truth of the Word, equipped to serve, challenged to holy living, using their lives to serve God, it is the church of 5,000 that is not measuring up to God’s standards and the church of 50 is the one He is proud of.

The world says that if you have huge palatial buildings, brand new private jets, live like the ruler of a small nation, and are famous the world over, you are a great success. Likewise, the world says that if you have no building, drive an older model car with 120,000 miles on it, live modestly, and nobody knows your name, you are a failure. However, God says that if the person experiencing great financial success is simply using the Gospel as a business and is being served, and the person with very little materially is using the Gospel to minister to the lost and is serving others, the one being served is getting his rewards now and the one serving others will enjoy the crowns and rewards in Glory for all eternity.

That is what this really boils down to my friend, service. We are called to serve the Lord and when we answer that call there is no such thing as failure despite what the world says. Part of being a servant is having the faith in the One you serve to go where He says go and do what He says do, and not worry about the outcome. Of course, when you walk by faith you have to take the first step. That is why you spend time in prayer, get wise counsel before you start. But once you start taking that walk of faith, God will open and close doors along the way to guide you so that you are exactly where He wants you to be and doing exactly what He wants you to be doing.

For those who serve the Lord, that is why it is so critical that you stay in that close, intimate relationship with the Lord each and every day. That is why it is critical that you be yielded at all times to the Holy Sprit so that it is His will and not your will you are seeking. Trust me, God will guide you each step of the way. When you get a bit off course, He will guide you back. When it is time to be doing other things, God will close doors and open new ones. Life is made up of seasons. Some seasons are longer than others. We are always serving God until the moment we take our last breath, but we usually will serve Him in many different ways along our journey through life.

Let me use my life as an example. I started out in a typical evangelistic ministry going around the nation preaching in over 500 churches for the first 3 years of my ministry. God then had me for a season of 4 years heavily involved in the Christian television world. God then led me over 8 years ago to reach the world using the Internet. Over four years ago, God called me to serve Him on secular television to work in conjunction with our Internet ministry. In these past 17 years I have been in full-time service to the Lord, even though I have always been serving Him, I have been doing it in many different ways.

Let me give you some counsel today on being a true servant of the most high God. First, remember it is ALWAYS Him and never you. Second, always be obedient and faithful. Third, give your very best to the Lord every second of every day. Fourth, follow the motto of the great revival preacher from the 1800s Charles Finney who said, “I do all I can like it all depends on me, then I pray like it all depends on God!” Fifth, you are to be a servant to others, not served by others. Sixth, never forget that there is never any failure with God. Seventh and last, let your only goal in serving the Lord be to hear those words when you stand before God, “Well done thou good and faithful SERVANT!!!”

I love you and care about you so much. There is nothing more important for the child of God than serving our Lord. After all, when we accepted Christ as our Savior, we gave our very lives to Him to use as He sees fit. The Bible says that we are “bought with a price,” that it is no longer our life but we belong to Him. Serving the Lord is not an option it is a commandment, one that every follower of Christ is expected to follow.

In the process of serving the Lord, we will always have times and experiences when we feel in our flesh that we have failed, that we have let the Lord down. That is a lie from the pits of hell! THERE IS NO FAILURE WITH GOD! You can’t fail when you are serving the Lord. The only way you can fail is to NOT serve Him! God uses our obedience and faithfulness in ways we will never see or understand until we get to Glory. The reality is, when we are yielded to the Lord, God uses our lives to do incredible things that we never even realize.

As a matter of fact, I submit that the greatest things you will ever do for God you don’t even know you did them until you get to Heaven. Those are the things you do each day simply by being obedient and faithful . God will give us a little feedback along the way since He knows our flesh is weak and needs encouragement. However, the vast majority of what God does in and through our lives we will never fully comprehend in this life. Don’t forget, our job isn’t to know everything that is going on, it is simply to be obedient and faithful. God can use a willing and yielded vessel!

I will be praying for you today. Praying that you will be encouraged by this powerful word today. Encouraged to get serious about fulfilling your responsibility as a child of God to serve Him. We are ALL called to serve. I pray that you will let God guide you in the paths of service He has called you to and that you will never forget, THERE IS NO FAILURE WITH GOD!!!

In His love and service,
Your friend and brother in Christ,
Bill Keller

Fred Phelps, Westboro Baptist, and have NOTHING to do with the Christian Faith

(Matthew 7:16)

Fred Phelps, Westboro Baptist Church, and have NOTHING to do with the Christian faith! Years ago when I first heard about a website named, I thought it was a joke. In going through this disgusting website, I began checking out the “church” and “pastor” who put it together. It was disturbing to find out there really was a Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka, Kansas, though it is not affiliated with any Baptist denomination, and a Fred Phelps, the 78-year-old pastor who in 1947 went to Bob Jones University for a few semesters and then to the Prairie Bible Institute, but graduated from neither. He eventually received a law degree in 1962, though he would be disbarred in 1979.

This “church,” while claiming to be Christians and speaking for God, is really nothing more than a hate group. Their main message is to attack the sin of homosexuality. While they quote the Bible and many of the things they say about this sin and God’s judgment for sin are true, they do great damage to the cause of Christ and make it that much more difficult for those who are truly serving the Lord since they offer zero love, zero hope, and never preach the Gospel. Sadly, any time you go into the marketplace and speak out against the sin of homosexuality, non-believers will always label you as being part of Phelps and Westboro.

I had an interesting a few years ago. I received a call from the producer of the Bubba the Love Sponge program around 7am. He told me they were having Shirley Phelps, the daughter of Fred Phelps and the media “face” of this hate group, on their program and wanted to know if I would come on and debate her. I am always ready for those type of opportunities and agreed to appear on the program with her. Phelps and their group were in Jacksonville to picket the funeral of a soldier, which has been their primary way in the past few years of attracting publicity. They claim the war in Iraq is God’s judgment on this nation for condoning the sin of homosexuality, which just goes to show you how confused their beliefs are.

Bubba offered Shirley and her group 30 minutes of airtime on his 1 rated program that airs in the Tampa and Jacksonville markets if she would agree not to picket the soldier’s funeral, and she agreed. Knowing that commercials on his program go for apx $700/min, I thought it was a pretty generous offer. She also agreed to take a phone call from “a pastor who disagrees with her group” during her 30 minutes, which of course was me. Here is a link to the audio of our 20 minute chat,

In a situation like this, you really aren’t debating the other person or trying to convince them of anything. Someone like Phelps has her talking points and has been totally brainwashed with her false beliefs and theology, so there is virtually nothing to be accomplished in trying to change what she believes. It is the listening audience that you are speaking to. It is their hearts and minds you are trying to influence. The ultimate goal was to help those listening understand that Phelps and her family did NOT represent Christianity. Despite the fact she can quote the Bible endlessly, she is not preaching the WHOLE Word of God and is no different than any other cult or false religion that tries to use the Bible to justify their beliefs.

The three main points I zeroed in on was the fact Phelps and the Westboro folks had no fruit, no love, and offered people no hope. The Bible states that you know a tree by the fruit it bears. A great way to judge the effectiveness of any work of God is by the fruit they produce. Phelps and her family produce ZERO fruit, a clear sign to anyone that they are not of God. This group also shows zero love. God is love. You can tell people the truth but still do it in love. The message of this group is totally void of any love. Lastly, they offer people no hope. You can call sin sin, but you have to offer the sinner hope. Jesus is the hope for even the most wretched person, but in the false theology of the Phelps, sinners are offered no hope.

I found it interesting that she immediately began to attack me personally, calling me a fool and other names, though admitting she didn’t even know me or anything about my work for the Lord. During the course of our conversation, I also exposed the fact she believes people don’t have the free will to accept or reject Christ, meaning we really aren’t responsible for our salvation and some have no hope at all of being saved. What an incredible lie from hell that is. She also admitted to my amazement that we aren’t supposed to preach the Gospel and lead lost souls to faith in Jesus Christ. I am sure this was lost on most of the listeners, but I found that belief the best case that these people are not of God and are false prophets in every sense of the word.

By the end of 20 minutes, it was evident Shirley was very frustrated with me and had enough. It was probably one of the few times in her life that she has had been in a media setting with someone who could expose her false theology and challenge her Biblically. In most of these cases she makes herself sound like a true spokesman of the Lord because she can quote some scripture, getting away with it because she is dealing with a secular press who is Biblically illiterate. I’ve got news for you, satan quoted scripture also, and like Shirley, out of context to suit his needs and agenda! In nearly 20 years of ministry, I have been in the presence of pure evil on too many occasions. I can honestly say that last June I spoke with a woman who was not some poor confused soul, but a true tool of satan and evil in every sense of the word.

I love you and care about you so much. The Phelps/Westboro hate mongers are a classic example of how you can be correct according to God’s Word about a particular issue, but still not of God. The Mormon cult is in perfect alignment with the Bible on many issues, but is still a cult from the pits of hell since their final authority is not the Bible but the Book of Mormon and the writings of their cults founder Joey Smith. The Muslims are in line with God’s Word on some issues, but not of God since their faith is in a false, non-existent god they call allah and they reject faith in Jesus Christ as the way to be saved. Other cults, false religions, and spiritual beliefs may believe in some things the Bible teaches, but that does not make them of God.

Pray for the Phelps family and those who sadly follow their hate-filled teachings. Pray that they will come to know the Lord and His grace, mercy, and hope. Pray that their influence will be limited so the damage they do is minimized. It is incumbent that we boldly call sin what it is, warn people of God’s coming wrath, but make sure we also share His love and hope and that through faith in Jesus Christ men can escape the eternal horrors of hell and reside for all eternity in a mansion in Glory. My challenge for you today is to examine the fruit of your life often and allow the Lord to use you to bring His Truth, love, and hope to those you meet along your journey each day.

In His love and service,

Your friend and brother in Christ,

Bill Keller
