For Many People there is Much Pressure at the End of the Month

(Matthew 6:25-33 )

For many people today, there is much pressure because it is the end of the month. Many struggling with financial commitments they can’t meet are dealing with much stress today. Today ends another month and tomorrow more obligations become due. Giving up seems like the easiest thing to do, but my friend, that is a thought straight from the pits of hell itself. Praying doesn’t seem to work. It doesn’t look like any miracles are on the horizon.
What now? What is the next move?

First of all, praying is NOT in vain and is the first step. The Bible tells us to ask God for wisdom and He will give it to us. Secondly, God has promised in His Word to supply our need so we have to trust that promise and use it as the hope to move forward. Third is the very real practical situation of unmet obligations. Every situation is different and the dynamics are unique to where you are at. But here is my suggestion.

Get a legal pad, as you probably have, and write down what is essential to day to day living. Then write down the other non-essential day to day living obligations. Lastly, write down all of the obligations you are delinquent on. On the other side of the legal pad, write down the income you have to work with and any income you will have during the month. The first
goal is to make sure the day to day essential are met. After that, the other obligations for the month. Lastly, you need a plan for the delinquent obligations.

Your first goal is to contact the debtor and explain your situation. Most creditors are only interested in getting paid and as long as you are working towards that, will usually work with you. You need to structures based on your income..or possibly even additional income if you need to take that route…a plan to work down the past due obligations.

The bottom line is it will take three things: 1. Wisdom from God, 2) Discipline, 3) Hard work. You didn’t get into the problem overnight, and won’t get out
overnight. But God will see you through this valley.

I love you and care about you so much. I pray that this has helped some of you focus on a problem we get many prayer requests about. Very few people get
into financial problems overnight, and very few people will get out of them overnight. But with the wisdom God can give you, being disciplined, and working hard each day, YOU WILL BE VICTORIOUS!!!

Your friend and brother in Christ,
Bill Keller

I Love You

(1 Corinthians 13)

I LOVE YOU!!! Sadly, many will not hear those wonderful 3 words today. So I want to make sure that I let you know today, that I love YOU! If you like what I write, I love you. If there are days that you may not like what I write, I still love you. If you pray for me and this ministry, I love you. If you NEVER pray for me or this ministry, I still love you. If you are led by God to give to the work here, I love you. If you NEVER give to this work, I still love you. There are many of you that God has used in a powerful way to help us expand the work here over the last 42 months and I love you. There are many Satan has used to try and stop the work of God here at Liveprayer, and I still love you. You see my friend, my love for you has NO CONDITIONS! THAT is “agape” love, or that special love that only comes from God because it is unconditional, and there is nothing you can do to stop me from loving you!

There is no greater gift then the gift of love. It was out of love that Christ came to this earth to give His life for the sins of this world. That was the greatest example of love there ever was. When I wake up each morning, I realize that the greatest way I can show Christ’s love to you is by coming to my office, sitting down at my computer, and as the Holy Sprit direct me, giving you something practical that you can hold on to that will help you through your day. I can say I love you 1 million times, but as my mother used to tell me, “talk is cheap”, and “actions speak louder then words”. So while I SAY I love you, I attempt to SHOW you that I love you through the words that God gives for me to share with you each and every day.

You see, it is NO ACCIDENT that you are receiving these words each day in your email. It is NO ACCIDENT that God has allowed our lives to cross paths for this season. The fact is, there are billions of people living in our world today. Close to 2 million of those get this Devotional every day. While I
have a love for everyone who lives, and a concern for their souls, I have a great love for you because God has brought our lives together! Of the billions living, it is only the couple of million or so God has allowed me to share with each day that I am personally responsible for. Personally responsible for in the sense that God has brought our lives together for a period of time, and during that period of time, I AM responsible for sharing the ABSOLUTE TRUTH of His Word with you, caring for your needs and concerns, and letting you know that no matter what, I am here, I love you, I care about you, and you are NOT ALONE!!!!!

One thing I know without a doubt. Not ONE PERSON who reads this Devotionals is not going through something in their life. NOT ONE!!! I want you to know that Jesus loves you, Bill Keller loves you, and the Lord will never leave you nor forsake you no matter what trial or tribulation that you are currently living through. As much as I love you, God loves you even more. He is with you always, especially in those darkest days. I come to you each day to let you know that you are not alone, to encourage you, and to pray for you. The whole reason God has raised Liveprayer up in these last days is to pray for the needs of people like you who are going through the storms of life that we all go through. So never hesitate to email me at bkeller@liveprayer.com anytime that I can help you.

I love you, I REALLY DO! I care about you, I REALLY DO! A few weeks ago the Devotional that I wrote was forwarded by someone to an old business acquaintance from my life in the 80’s when making money was my only goal in life. This person and I had some very successful business dealings. He had not heard from me over these last 11 years that I have been in ministry, and as we shared about our lives the question he asked was a very legitimate one. He said, “Bill, don’t you miss the deals, the money, all the luxuries that life has to offer?” I had to honestly think for a moment before answering. After a few moments I told him NO. That chasing the things of this world is a wasted effort since one day, when our life is over, those things will not matter any longer. God has given me a very special job to do in these last days. The things of this world will be gone one day, but the lives that we can impact for Christ will live for eternity!!!!!

I wouldn’t trade what I am doing for all the gold in the world. I get up each morning, faithfully do what God has called me to do, and I would not trade this great honor for anything. My ultimate job in life is to serve and glorify God with my life. I have been richly blessed to be able to do that every day through the incredible 24/7 ministry of Liveprayer. The ONLY thing that I ask God for each day, is to allow me to do this until Jesus returns. Despite all of the headaches that are involved in this type of ministry, despite all of the massive attacks from inside and outside the Christians community on our work here, it is all worth it…because of YOU!! I do NOT say “I love you” lightly. I mean it. It is no accident that God brought us together for this season of our lives. My goal is to inspire you, encourage you, and challenge you. But above all, let me assure you that no matter what..YOU ARE LOVED!!!

In His love and service,
Your friend and brother in Christ,
Bill Keller

Spiritual Gifts

(1 Corinthians 12)

Spiritual gifts. This is by far one of the most controversial issues in the church today. One of the things that grieves the heart of God the most, is the division within His body. Perhaps, nothing has divided the Body of Christ more then the issue of spiritual gifts. The sad fact is, it is a lack of understanding of this issue that has caused this division. Those who worship in a Pentecostal or Charismatic style church, embrace this issue, often too much so. Those who worship in more mainline denominational style churches such as the United Methodist, Presbyterian, or Baptist, often ignore this issue, often too much so. Like in most issues of division, the truth is usually somewhere in the middle, and the issue of spiritual gifts is no different.

Let me first clear up some beliefs that are 100% incorrect. Many who do not embrace spiritual gifts take the position that they are not for this day, that at some point they stopped to exist. NOTHING could be farther from the truth. There is NO, ZERO, Biblical support for this. Jesus told his followers that they would do even GREATER things then He did. He healed people, raised the dead, fed the multitudes with a few loaves and fishes, among other miracles.

Likewise, those who hold to the belief that those who do not operate in certain gifts are not saved, or spiritually immature, are just as wrong. The biggest issue in this area are those who claim that if you do not have the gift of tongues you do not have the Holy Spirit. 100% WRONG. The Bible CLEARLY says that EVERYONE who is saved, receives the gift of the Holy Spirit. It is the “Promise” Jesus spoke of. It is the “Comforter”. Being YIELDED to the Spirit of God that resides within you, is the issue. When you hear of people being “baptized in the Holy Spirit”, if they are saved, they already possess the Holy Spirit. What is actually happening is that they are YIELDING to the power of the Holy Spirit that is within them. THAT is something that each person must do every day to allow the power of the Holy Spirit to flow through our life. This hotly debated issue is more an issue of semantics then anything else.

As for Spiritual Gifts. These are special gifts that God gives to His children at specific times, for very specific purposes. God does not do ANYTHING by accident. Likewise, you can not just activate the Gifts of God like you turn on a light switch. The biggest abuse of this is probably in the area of healing. YES, God does use human instruments to heal people. I will say that 99% of his human instruments are DOCTORS! Can someone rent a 20,000 seat arena, have a 200 voice choir an orchestra majestically lead the crowd in 1 hour of praise and worship, at the height of this emotional experience spend 45 minutes taking an offering, then open the alter for people to come forward and be healed, and people are actually healed? Yes. But even in this kind of situation it is God using the faith of the individual, in accordance with HIS plan, that brings about the healing. Never forget, in the Bible when Jesus healed someone, He said, “go, thy faith has made thee whole”!

The point is you do not have to go to a big crusade, or be in the presence of a certain person to be healed. It is JESUS who heals, through our faith, and in accordance with God’s ultimate plan. I have over a 100,000 praise reports from people that have sent in healing requests to Liveprayer over the last 42 months who have been touched by God. Was there something magical about the prayers they got from here? NO. But God did hear those prayers and used the faith of the person in accordance with His perfect plan to bring about their healing. All Bill Keller, or any other person can do is to pray with you and challenge you to believe and to put your faith in God. The same Jesus who healed in the Bible, is the same Jesus that heals today.

The other gift that is greatly abused is that of the prophet. In the Old Testament, God often spoke through the prophet. Now that we have His Word, a prophet is someone who declares the oracles of God. A prophet is not a psychic, though God can give a prophet direction for a person or situation in advance. Most who call themselves prophets however, speak in lofty language, and much like the psychics, speak in generalities that can apply to almost ANY situation. I have always challenged ANYONE who wants to claim this gift, to read what the Bible says about a prophet. The Biblical mandate for anyone claiming to be a prophet is that the FIRST time they are wrong, they are to be taken to the edge of the city and stoned to death. I wonder how many prophets and prophetesses there would be if this as their penalty the first time they were wrong?

The bottom line to this sadly divisive issue is that spiritual gifts DO EXIST. They are NOT a sign of spiritual superiority but special gifts that God gives to His children at specific times for VERY specific purposes. The fact is that EVERY believer has at least one gift, and no believer has ALL of the gifts. The Bible says we should desire the gifts of God so that we can better fulfill our purpose of serving Him. The purpose of this Devotional is not to get into a theological debate over this issue. I am not here for that purpose, and I refuse to allow myself to get entangled in that kind of exchange.

I realize that there is much teaching on this issue, and possibly your church teaches things that might contradict what I have said. I will say this. One reason I rarely deal with this issue, is that like prophecy, people can get so focused on this one issue, that they forget the most important issue of all, which is what Liveprayer is here to do. To help you translate your faith into your every day life and fulfill all that God intends for your life to be. I have preached in churches of every denomination and the one common bond in every church no matter WHAT position they take on issues like Spiritual Gifts is that there are people hurting, and looking for encouragement and answers in their day to day life.

I love you and care about you very much. I will be praying for you today, especially that you don’t allow an issue like Spiritual gifts divide you from other parts of the Body of Christ. Like Paul writes, we each are a different part, of the SAME Body. I will pray however that you open your heart to all that God wants to do with and through your life. To accomplish that, He will often give you special gifts to carry out His work. I pray that you open your heart to His will, and His plan for your life, and never limit what God can do with your life.

Your friend and brother in Christ,

One Nation Under God!

(Deuteronomy 8:19, Proverbs 14:34)

One nation…under GOD!!! Last summer, there was much controverter when an atheist named Michael Nudow used his young daughter to file and win the first stage of a lawsuit to have the words “under God” removed from the Pledge of Allegiance. First and most important, let me assure you 100% that this will NEVER become law. Most likely in a review by the entire panel of the 9th circuit it will be overturned, or, the Supreme Court will over turn it, or if it EVER came to this, the Congress will simply make a Constitutional amendment to keep the words “under God” in the pledge. So don’t worry, “one
nation, under God” will NOT be taken out of the Pledge of Allegiance. To magnify this point, the very judge who wrote the majority opinion (2-1) put a hold on his ruling the very next day, pending a review of the entire panel of the 9th Circuit Court.

Having said that, let me tell you the REAL story behind this court opinion that WILL be overturned. Like 9/11, like all throughout the Old Testament, it is a wake up call to the people of faith, the Christians of this nation! Let me say right now, what happened in this ruling is OUR FAULT. All of the ungodly rulings from our courts the last 40 years, including the legalized slaughter of tens of millions of innocent lives, is OUR FAULT! In THE EARLY 60’s, the church started to become an insignificant part of the lives of many Americans. A nation founded and built on Christina ideals, had gotten to a place that many simply did not think God was important. In that decade you saw the rise of the women’s lib movement, the birth of the movement amongst those who viewed homosexuality as a legitimate choice. For the last 40 years, we have simply lost almost 2 full generations of people to the TRUTH of the Bible and to a commitment to a relationship with Jesus Christ. THAT IS OUR FAULT. WE ARE NOW REAPING WHAT WE HAVE SOWN!!!!

All that has happened to the Christians in this nation is simply a by-product of the apathy the
CHRISTIANS have expressed over the last 40 years. What happened in Roe v Wade was OUR FAULT. What happened this past summer was OUR FAULT. We need to quit blaming the world at large for these issues, and accept the responsibility that we have simply net been doing our job effectively!

What can YOU do? Pray and serve. This is a wake up call for all of God’s children to realize how serious this battle is. We have it way too easy here in the United States. We have the freedom to worship God any way that we want, we face minimal if any persecution, we have the resources of the greatest nation in the world. Yet despite all of that, the majority of God’s children here are spiritually fat and lazy. We pay very little cost to be called a child of God. I think about those early Christians, how they sat in the Roman prisons, waiting to be fed to the lions. They knew that there was a price to be a Christian, and were happy to pay it. I think about how a handful of common men after our Lord’s death, burial, and resurrection turned the world of their day upside down with the Good News of Jesus Christ. How? They were sold out and committed to share the Gospel with everyone. They knew the price of being a Christian was their very life. It no longer belonged to them, but belonged to God.

I pray that today will be a wake up call in your life that being a Christian has a price attached to it. So many are focused on this brief time here, instead of the eternity that awaits each of us. They forget that their role here is to be a servant, not be served. I take this message today to the masses, because the majority of the spiritual leaders of our day have no vision, they have no leadership skills, they have no fire to send the people of God out into this sin-filled and evil world and proclaim that Jesus Christ is the King of Kings, and Lord of Lords!!!!!!

My word for you today is to quit waiting for your pastor, or some evangelist, or a TV preacher, or anyone else to do great things for God. THAT IS WHY GOD HAS RAISED YOU UP IN THESE LAST DAYS. TO DO GREAT THINGS FOR HIM. No football player ever won the Super Bowl, no baseball player ever won the World Series by sitting in he stands. You have to get out on the field and work hard every day, give it 100%, and expect God to use you to share the hope and love of Christ with this dying world.

I love you and care about you so much. I am not afraid of the events of our world today, I am challenged by them. I see them as an incredible opportunity to share Christ with a world that is hurting, lost, and looking for answers. We have the answers for this world, and they are in a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. Bad things will happen to good people in this evil world, until God brings this world to an end. We ARE living in the end times according to Scripture. We each have a responsibility as a Christian to be about our Father’s business until either Christ comes or God tells us
our work here is over and calls us home. May we never forget that we must work while it is still light, that night is coming. May you and your family be richly blessed during these extraordinary times in which we live.

A friend of mine who does not believe in God recently wrote that “Christians were an insignificant gaggle of humanity”. I took his words to heart. While our forefathers were anything BUT an “insignificant gaggle, I am sad to say his words may be true of the Christians of today. If Jesus tarries, we MUST become significant in our culture today. That will ONLY happen if we take our faith seriously and rise up. The ruling on the “Pledge” is nothing more then a wake-up call.

IN GOD WE TRUST!!!!!

Is Kissing Okay?

(Song of Solomon 1:2, 1 Thessalonians 4:3, 4:7)

Is kissing OK? Never a day goes by that I don’t get dozens of emails asking that simple question. While the majority of those emails are from young adults, the answer applies to people of all ages. Kissing is OK only when it is your husband or wife that you are kissing. PERIOD! Oh boy, I can already see the eyes rolling back. I already know that a 14yo girl is typing as fast as she can to tell me that I am crazy. I know somewhere an 18yo young man is ready to send me an email to tell me how out of touch I am. I also know that there will be tons of emails asking me what chapter and verse in the Bible says “thou shalt not kiss unless you are married”. First, I am not crazy. Second, I am very “in touch”. Last, there is NO SUCH VERSE in the Bible.

However, the Bible is VERY CLEAR about the issue of being pure and avoiding sexual sins. God’s plan for intimacy between a man and woman is in the bonds of marriage. PERIOD. That means NO SEX. Fornication is clearly defined over and over in the Bible as a sin and means ANY sexual act between people that are not married. Jesus actually set the standard in this area when He said that if a man even lusts after a woman that is not his wife, he has committed the sin of adultery. Lust is a sin. So to even lust after someone that is not your spouse, is clearly a sin.

So what is so wrong about two people who are not married kissing? First, it is a very intimate act. Again, that type of intimacy God designed for those who are married. Second, kissing is like the fuse on a stick of dynamite. If you are not married and you know that sex is out of the question until you are, on top of that, lusting after someone that is not your spouse is called a sin by Jesus, all kissing does is open the door that can lead to sexual activity, and clearly opens the door to lust.

The fact is, GOD LOVES YOU. Some will read this today and think God doesn’t want me to have any fun. Quite the opposite. Everything God teaches is to INSURE that you have the most abundant life possible. As I say so often, if we do it God’s way it works, if we do it our way it doesn’t. God’s way brings blessings, and our way brings consequences. Those who follow God’s way in the area of romance and save themselves for that one special person God intends you to spend the rest of your life with, know how special intimacy with your spouse can be. Those who have not followed God’s plan in this area of your life realize that something God created to be so special can be very unfulfilling. It is like a hungry man who does it his way by stopping at McDonalds, instead of doing it God’s way and enjoying a 5-course feast.

I love you and care about you so much. I really pray today that this message makes you think twice about something most people take for granted. You see how disgusting satan is? He is the great perverter. He takes kissing, something special that God created for a man and wife to share, and has cheapened it to become something most people do without even thinking twice. I can only encourage you today to save your kisses for the person that God brings into your life to share this journey with as your husband or wife.

Your friend and brother in Christ,
Bill Keller

Our Freedom to Choose

(1 Kings 18:21)

Our freedom to choose. One of the greatest responsibilities God has given each one of us, is our ability to make our own choices. We often take for granted the fact that God has given us this freewill ability to choose. Even though you do it subconsciously, each day you make hundreds, often thousands of choices. From what time you get up, to what you eat, to what you wear, to the roads you drive on, to what you say, and on, and on, and on.
The choices you make, ultimately determine the direction that your life takes.
Because we make so many choices instinctively, we lose sight of how important each choice can be to how we live our life.

The reason I continually challenge you in your DAILY walk with Christ, is for this very reason. When you start the day, even if it is only 20 minutes, praying, reading the Word of God, it helps to give you a Godly focus to your thoughts and a Godly foundation from which you will be making all of those choices during the course of the day. Church is critical to the life of a believer since again, it helps you build that spiritual foundation in your life from which you make your day to day decisions. Paul said to “pray without ceasing”. Literally, it means to “stay connected” with God at all times. You see, when you are “connected”, it makes it difficult to make the choice to rebel against God. We make our bad choices, we make our rebellious choices when we are “unplugged” from God.

This is obviously a very deep, and intense issue that people have spent their entire life studying. The point I want you to understand today is that God has given us this incredible ability to make our own choices during this life. Many have questioned why, since it is our freedom to choose that destroys peoples lives. The alternative though would leave us a little more than robots. God gave us freewill, so that we could freely, on our own, choose to love Him, serve Him, glorify Him. We say with our mouths how much we love God, how important Jesus is in our life. The way we prove that, is in our daily decisions, the choices we make day in and day out. That is how we ultimately tell God we love Him. The old saying, actions speak louder than words is very true.

I love you and care about you so much. I grieve daily as the emails pour in from all over the world. People who have had their lives destroyed by the choices they have made. The good news I want to share with you today is that God is in the restoration business. He can help you overcome the bad choices. He can strengthen you to make wise, Godly choices in the future. Be aware, that as you make each and every choice in the course of a day, it is a responsibility god has given to us. Take a second and ask yourself if the choice you are making, is the choice God would want you to make. After all, when you know Christ, it is not your life any longer, it belongs to Him.

***Pray!!!! If we prayed as much BEFORE we make our choices, we wouldn’t have to pray so much AFTER we make the wrong choice. It only takes a moment to ask God for guidance.

***Lastly, the most important choice you will ever make in this life, is the freedom that God has given you to choose your eternal destination. The greatest
choice of this life is to choose to accept, or reject Jesus Christ as your personal Savior. If you want to make that choice today, simply go to http://www.liveprayer.com/SPlan.html

God has given us the freedom to make choices in this life, I will be praying today that you will make, wise, Godly choices.

Running from Sin

(Genesis 39:12, 1 Peter 2:11)

Running from sin. This may seem like an easy question to answer, but think carefully before you answer. Do you run away from sin, or do you run TO sin? If you answer honestly, you will have to admit that there have been times in your life when you were guilty of running towards sin, or at least NOT running away when you saw sin coming. I have spoke in past Devotionals about the path of escape that God not only always provides, but promises! There is that instant, when your spiritual instincts are telling you exactly what to do. That my friend becomes YOUR moment of truth. Will you obey God and run away from sin? Or, do you ignore God and run to it, like the moth goes directly for the fire!

In today’s scripture, Joseph saw sin coming. Realizing his own human weakness, he literally ran from it. THERE IS NOTHING COWARDLY ABOUT RUNNING FROM SIN! Let me say this again. THERE IS NOTHING COWARDLY ABOUT RUNNING FROM SIN! As a matter of fact, it is an act of weakness and rebellion to God to NOT run from sin. It is like saying, “OK sin, here I am, powerless to stand up to you..just run me over.” Anyone can do that. It
takes spiritual maturity to see sin coming and flee from it. The Bible even tells
us to “flee from sin.” It is an admonition that we need to take more seriously.

The question becomes, why don’t we run from sin? There are two answers to this. It is because we either, a) don’t trust our spiritual instincts enough to “see” sin coming, or, b) we simply love the sin more than the Lord at that moment. That may sound harsh, but it is very true. Jesus told His disciples that if
they loved Him, they would obey His commandments. As His disciples, we ultimately get
the opportunity to show our love for Him often. It is usually in those cases
when we have the opportunity to run from sin, or stay and indulge in it. Remember the
next time that you want to tell Jesus you love Him. Show Him by following His
commandments. show Him by RUNNING FROM SIN!

I love you and care about you very much. I realize that many of you are in difficult situations today because you have succumbed to sin’s temptations…you stayed instead of running. Running is hard. It actually requires a
supernatural strength that we only posses through Christ. Again, that is why that
intimate daily relationship with Him is so critical to our daily walk. It not only strengthens us, but
sharpens our spiritual instincts so we can see sin coming and run from it. I will be
praying for you to really let these words today sink in.

For many, these are very difficult words, but necessary. They are said in love, to help you avoid falling into the traps the enemy sets for you. Let me leave you with this encouragement. God BLESSES obedience. Not only is it our most effective way of proving our love for the Lord, but a side benefit is God blesses our obedience. I am convinced that Joseph reaped the blessings of God for His obedience. What God did for Joseph, He will do for you. He gave Joseph the spiritual instincts to see sin coming, the strength to run from sin, and than blessed him for his obedience! Remember that the next time you see sin coming…and RUB!!!

Your friend and brother in Christ,
Bill Keller
