Who Will You Serve

(Judges 13:24, 14:3, 16:1, 16:21, 16:30)

No matter long you have been saved, no matter how greatly God is using your life, the fact is that we each wake up in the morning and face the choice of who we will serve that day. I have used the life of Samson in various opportunities that I have had over my years in the ministry when I was speaking to pastors or men’s groups. But Samson’s life is very applicable for this message today, in regard to the choice that you will make today, and every day, as to exactly WHO you will serve.

Samson was miraculously born to a mother who was unable to conceive a child. He was dedicated to God’s service, even before he was conceived. While many may scoff at this, I have known many women who were unable to have children, but after much prayer and seeking God, their once barren womb brought forth life! Just in the short 43 months Liveprayer ha been online, we have had 2 such births that I can recall off of the top of my head. Samson was dedicated to the Lord’s service, grew up being taught all about God, and the Bible says that the ‘Spirit of God’ was upon his life.

One of the points that I want to stress today is that here was a man, dedicated to God even before he was conceived, raised in the “church” of his day, and had a heart so close to God that the Bible even says God’s Spirit was upon him. DESPITE THIS, SAMSON, JUST LIKE YOU AND I, WOKE UP EVERY MORNING AND HAD TO MAKE CHOICES THROUGHOUT THE DAY WHO HE WOULD SERVE!

The Bible says that the devil comes to kill, steal, and destroy. If you have accepted Christ into your heart by faith, the Bible says that you are saved (John 3:16, Romans 10:10, Ephesians 2:8,9). However, even though the devil can’t have your eternal soul, he can destroy your life, steal the joy, peace, and abundance Jesus promised those who followed Him would know during our brief journey here, and kill us..literally.

Over the years I have known many great men and women of God who allowed sin in their life to consume them to the point of death. One dear brother got into the bondage of drug addiction and died from an overdose. One pastor I know looked to alcohol instead of the Lord in times of trouble and alcohol eventually destroyed his lived and he died much earlier then he should have because of it. One sister who did many great things for God allowed the enemy to throw her into a state of depression to the point that she took her own life.

As you read through the life of Samson, he chose to turn from God over and over. Samson knew how God felt about being unequally yoked with non-believers. Samson knew God’s plan for marriage. Samson knew God forbids sex outside of marriage. Yet, Samson’s weakness was women; women who did not know or honor the God of Israel. The enemy is persistent. He will tempt the child of God over and over and over until he finds the weakness in their life. Samson’s weakness was women.

Each day, just like you and me, Samson had to choose who he would serve that day. As much as the anointing of God was on his life, even though he served God in miraculous ways, even though God used him to bless many, IT WAS SAMSON WHO HAD TO MAKE THE CHOICE EACH DAY WHO HE WOULD SERVE. Over and over, Samson chose sin over God. Over and over, God showed his love and grace to Samson and gave him chances to straighten his life out. But Samson took God’s grace and mercy for granted, refused to turn from his sin, and it was his sin that ultimately destroyed his life, stole all of the blessings God had for him, and ultimately, killed him.

Let me encourage you today. If you have chosen to serve sin, have allowed things to enter into your life that God does not approve of, TODAY is the day that you can stop. Is it that easy? NO WAY! It will be the hardest thing that you have ever done. But if you take the first step, God will strengthen you and help you to turn away from sin, and back to Him.

I love you and care for you so much. God loves you and cares for you even more. Each day, He gives you the choice to love Him and serve Him. Even those who have loved Him and served Him for many years, STILL, each day must make that choice. I pray today that you learn from Samson’s life, and choose God.

Each day I get hundreds of emails from all over the world from people saying that what I write is intolerant, it isn’t for “today”, that there is nothing wrong with doing what we want. They simply don’t understand that God loves us SO MUCH, that He sent His word to encourage us and guide us along our journey here. How He shows us to live our life is not to keep us from enjoying our life, but to know the peace, joy, and abundance that this life can offer. However, He loves us enough to give us the freewill to choose each day, whether we will serve Him or not.

That is a choice that I will make today, and it is a choice that YOU will make today. My prayer today is that you will choose to serve God

In His love and service,

Your friend and brother in Christ,

Bill Keller

(Genesis 9:3)

God, in His infinite wisdom, gave His children everything needed to sustain this life. I have always maintained that the Bible contains everything we need for every aspect of our life. That includes what we eat. In the study I have done in regard to Biblical diets, I have to admit that the dietary laws found in the book of Leviticus are perfect for sustaining our bodies and health throughout this life. God made us, He should know best what it takes to run these human machines we use during this lifetime.

Now, I have to be the first to admit that I DO NOT eat according to the dietary laws found in the book of Leviticus. I don’t see a trip through the McDonald’s drive-thru, drinking a liter of Coke to wash down hot dogs and pizza, or even a pint of Haagen Daze ice cream anywhere in the Bible. I have made up my mind to do better. God has blessed me with great health throughout my life. I have been able to eat whatever I wanted whenever I wanted and never worry about gaining weight. I have just been blessed. That still gives me no excuse for abusing my temple the way I do at times and not taking the proper care of it that I should.

As you know from reading these Devotionals, our purpose in this life is to serve and glorify God. Only God knows when our work here is over and we graduate to Heaven. So it is our responsibility during this life to maintain to the best of our ability our bodies, so that we are at maximum efficiency in our ability to serve the Lord. That means getting the proper exercise, and eating the right foods. There is enough research on the books to tell us that how we feel each day, our immune system, many infirmities we get, even major diseases can be greatly affected and influenced by our diet.

That being the case, it is then incumbent on us to research and discipline our eating habits so that we are putting into our bodies the best things possible. It is amazing how much more we can accomplish each day when we feel good, when we have energy. It becomes our responsibility to be the best we possibly can each day to serve God, and that means eating the things that will keep our bodies healthy and strong.

I really do love you and care about you. I have been involved long enough in the nutritional world through my study of the Word, to know that it does make a big difference what we put into our bodies each day. I received so many wonderful emails after my Devotional on Gluttony a while back, thanking me for talking about something that is clearly defined as sin in the Word, yet seldom discussed. While I do my best each day to prepare you and try to encourage you to be the best servant of God you possibly can be, today it has been necessary to point out an obvious but often overlooked aspect of our service.

It is difficult for God to use us when we are always tired, when we are always sick, when we have neglected ourselves to the point we have trouble just getting around each day. I want to challenge you today to pray about this part of your life and ask God to help you to have the discipline to take control over your Temple. Ask Him to give you the discipline to exercise regularly and to eat the right things so that you are in the best health possible. I will be praying for you.

In closing, I have done much research in this area and have tried my best to help give you a push in the right direction. Now it is up to you. If you have prayed about this, and know God is calling you to take control over this aspect of your life, then NOW is the time. TODAY is the day!!!

In His love and service,
Your friend and brother in Christ,

Bill Keller

Do You Love the Praise of Men More than the Praise of God

(John 12:43)

I want to ask you a very personal and direct question this morning. Do you love the praise of men more than the praise of God? I am going to assume most everyone answering that question will immediately say, NO! Are you sure? You SAY you love the praise of God more than the praise of man but do you really? When you are confronted with a situation where you have the opportunity to proclaim Jesus Christ as the only way, the only Truth, the only life, the only answer . . . do you do it? Or, do you chicken out?

The last time you were in a conversation with people who didn’t believe in Jesus and you had the opportunity to defend Christ, did you? Or did you sit back and go along with the others by your silence? My friend, when given the opportunity to proclaim Christ and Christ alone and you fail to do so, despite what you may say, you love the praise of men more than the praise of God.

The point of today’s Devotional is very simple. Do we live our lives for the praise of man or the praise of God? Let me assure you that it is easier to get the praise of God than of man, and it is praise that is not temporary but eternal!!! You see, trying to please man is an impossible task because what is expected and required of us changes so often. You can try your entire life to please man but you will end up most sad and frustrated because it is not possible. The wonderful thing about God is that He has told us in His word what He expects, thus we know without a doubt what is required to please Him.

The other problem with the praise of man is that it is so temporary. How many people in the entertainment, athletic, the industry you may be part of are “hot” for a period of time, then are all but forgotten. The praise of man is fleeting, temporal. The praise of God is everlasting. I realize that many of you struggle with this issue. Trying to get the praise of someone in your life, whether it be in school, professionally, or in some sort of relationship.

I am not saying not to try to please others or do a good job. What I am saying is that your first priority is to please God. So many email me how distraught they are because they just can’t seem to make this person or that person happy. Continue to try, but always remember that your goal should not be to receive the praise of a man, but the praise of God.

I realized a very long time ago that I could not make everyone happy. No matter how hard I tried it just wasn’t possible. I still do my best each day, but in that effort, I never forget that ultimately it is God that I have to please. Even though everyone else may not like what I do, as long as I am doing what God wants and He is pleased then I have succeeded.

We read about the human cry of the prophets in the Old Testament complaining how nobody would listen to them. Nobody was willing to heed their warnings. How frustrated they were. I can guarantee you this. None of those men were ever going to receive any awards from their city, but they were receiving far greater rewards from God because of their faithfulness. In the Book of Acts, Stephen’s reward for preaching the Gospel was death by stoning. Even though those around him were so upset they literally stoned him to death, Jesus rose from His throne and stood to welcome Stephen into Heaven because of his faithfulness!!!

I love you and care about you so much. I pray today that you will never forget that it is God who we must ultimately please each and every day, not man. I will be praying for you that the next time you are in a situation where you can tell someone about Jesus, that you will “always be ready to give an answer to anyone who asks you the reason for the hope that is within you.” (1 Peter 3:15) Like everyone, I enjoy the praise of man but I do not live for that. I live my life for the praise of God and to one day hear those words, “Well done thou good and faithful servant.”

In His love and service,
Your friend and brother in Christ,

Bill Keller

We Are Out of Time

(John 3:16)

My friend, we are out of time. You don’t need to be a prophet to see what is happening around us and know our time is very short. The entire Middle East is in transition, and not a good one regardless what the media wants you to believe. The economy around the world is fragile to the point it could easily meltdown at any moment. Here in this country, on top of the 4,000 innocent babies we slaughter every 24 hours, the gross sexual perversions now embraced as acceptable behavior, the economic challenges millions are facing, we are also witnessing pure anarchy in our streets.

The last chapters of the “Occupy” movements taking place in many of our cities have yet to be written, but let me tell you today that it will not end well. They really have only one place to go, and that is to violence. While TV personalities on major networks openly root for and promote this anarchy in the streets, most involved have extremist views and no desire to work within the current socio-economic system. Violence will be their only card left to play and people will soon start to needlessly die in the streets, not of some foreign country, but right here in the United States!

It is against this backdrop globally and here in the United States that Liveprayer will be taking a visible lead role starting Tuesday to sound the trump of real hope and change in the marketplace. True hope and change can’t come from a human being or an organization, but only from the Lord Himself. People are hurting, people are starving for hope, and while there have been plenty of wolves of satan in the marketplace claiming to have the answers people are looking for, that void can only be filled with the Absolute Truth of the Bible and a personal relationship with Jesus Christ! Liveprayer, and those in the Liveprayer family have been uniquely positioned by God to lead this charge back to our Creator and Biblical Truth!!!

Today, I am asking you to do two things for me. First, pray about what God is going to call you to do in the coming months as part of this effort and ask Him for the strength to be obedient to His call, whatever it may be. Second, take a few minutes today and pray about helping me with a gift by the end of this month to enable us to end this month with all of our operational needs taken care of as we launch this major offensive next Tuesday.

As we head into the last 3 days of October, We finally covered the balance of our September budget, however, with only 3 days left in the month we need to bring in the $35,000 for the balance of this months operations. I have been in prayer today for the Lord to send 2 people immediately who are willing to make the sacrifce of $5,000 to help me cover $10,000 of that amount which we need immediately!

The good news is that as we move into the month of November, our efforts will expose Liveprayer to millions of people who have never even heard of us. It will also allow us to attract people who God has blessed to be able to financially support our work here. As we roll out our new efforts next Tuesday, it will soon reach millions of new people daily, and I see a byproduct of our efforts being a large infusion of funds that will enable us to be able to stand boldly and visibly in the marketplace through the secular media and reach millions of people with the Truth of the Bible who are currently only hearing the lies of satan!

These last 3 yrs have been very difficult here at Liveprayer. I have shared with you often the only way satan could slow us down is by choking off the funds we need to operate. Funds not to buy buildings, hire huge staffs, buy the newest private jet, pay me a huge salary so I could live like the ruler of a small nation, but simply the funds we need to operate to get His Truth out to the masses in the marketplace most churches and the Christian media have abandoned.

I have had to come to you more often than I like and ask you to pray about supporting His work here over these past three years. During the first 9 years of Liveprayer, we only had to share our needs 3-4 times a month. With the economic downturn in the nation, we now have to share our needs 11-12 times each month, though it is still less than 3% of the content we produce each month. However, when I see the BILLIONS squandered on failed political efforts, BILLIONS donated to support the works of satan, I don’t apologize for sharing our need and asking you to pray about helping me impact lives for Christ and saved souls!

All we have done has only been possible by dear friends like you who have prayed for me, and sacrificed to support me financially. In these 12 years, I have never asked for anything for myself, and despite sacrificing the vast bulk of what little personal compensation I took for several years, leaving me over $50,000 in current debts, my only goal today is to cover the $35,000 I need to simply have our operations needs current by the end of this month.

My friend, I am counting on you today. I need to hear from you today. This is critical, and I desperately need your help. We are so close to seeing the fulfillment of all Liveprayer has been raised up to be. I don’t want to be slowed down at this critical time over a few thousand dollars, Somebody will lose 10x what we need tonight in Vegas. Will you reach down, make the sacrifce, and help me today??? I desperately need you and will be in prayer for the Lord to move on your heart to help me!

Please don’t think that just because there are 2.4 million subscribers, someone else will take care of this. It has been friends like YOU over the years who God has spoken to, who have responded, who has made Liveprayer available to bring hope and salvation to so many. It will take someone like YOU today.

All gifts to Liveprayer are 100% tax deductible.

I love you and care about you so much. STAND WITH ME!!! I CAN’T DO THIS ALONE!!! I am asking you today to simply pray about what God may be calling you to do to help me with this effort. At the end of this life, I will stand before God our Creator like each person will. I will give an account for my life. The one thing I can honestly say when I die is that I never wavered, I never backed down from telling people the raw Truth of His Word, and that I never hesitated to boldly declare the only hope for each man is faith in Jesus Christ. That my friend, will be my lasting testimony!!!

Your lasting legacy will be those things you did for the Lord in this life. I have taken my stand and will proclaim His truth with my dying breath. Today, I am asking you to pray about joining me and let’s turn this nation back to God and His Truth!!!

Leave It All on the Field

(Matthew 5:16)

For those who play sports or enjoy watching sports, you will recognize this phrase. It is something coaches often tell their players before a big game. “Leave it all on the field.” It basically means to give everything you have. Don’t hold anything back. A sporting event has a predetermined amount of time in which it is played. The goal is to give your very best effort in that amount of time, since when the event is over, it is too late to effect the outcome. In that amount of time, you have to give everything you have to help your team be victorious. There is no reason to hold back, since when the event is over, it won’t matter.

How much our Christian life is like a sporting event, YET OF INCREDIBLY GREATER SIGNIFICANCE! We have a predetermined amount of time . . . our life. When it is over, it is too late. The only difference in this analogy is that God is the official clock-keeper, and we do not have the advantage of knowing how much time is left.

Can you imagine a football team playing a game when they did not know how much time was left on the clock. The game could end at any time. A strategy designed for a 60-minute contest would dramatically change, and coaches would be looking to score on every play, since they never would know when it would be their last play.

At this point, you may be a little confused about what point I am trying to get across to you today. It is simply this. While so many things in the world are distracting us and taking our focus off the Lord, the simple fact is that we are here to serve and glorify Him with our lives. THAT purpose must never be lost in our daily lives. Achieving that goal must never be forgotten in the business, the hustle and bustle of this world we live in.

We are very much like an athletic team in the sense we are here to win, win for Jesus. By accepting Him into your heart and life, you have already won your battle for the eternal destination of your soul, but the game does not end there. You are now part of a team, God’s team, and the team has a goal to share the message of hope and love through His Son Jesus Christ. As part of that team, you are expected to do your part.

Let me say right up front. I get so much email from people who are down on themselves because they feel they don’t do enough. Let me say this very clearly. GOD DOES NOT EXPECT YOU TO BE WHO HE HAS NOT CREATED YOU TO BE, GOD DOES NOT EXPECT YOU TO GIVE WHAT HE HAS NOT GIVEN YOU, AND GOD DOES NOT EXPECT YOU TO DO THINGS HE HAS NOT GIVEN YOU THE ABILITY TO DO.

Every year in late March, the NCAA Basketball Tournament is held. Sixty-four teams start out, though they have added a few extra in recent years. One of the wonders of this tournament is the small, mostly unknown schools who do well. They are able to compete with larger schools, who have better players because they play a complete-team game. Each player has his role, accepts that role, and plays to the best of his ability.

As part of God’s team, we too have a role to play. God has given us gifts and talents to play the role He calls us to each day. Through our lives He will often change that role, but will always equip us and make us adequate to perform the job He has called us to play. Rather than focus on others and their roles, let us concentrate on the role He has called us to play and do our very best.

I love you and care about you very much. God has made each one of us special. Not only are we created in His image, but we are part of God’s team. The great thing about God’s team is NOBODY sits on the bench. We are ALL in the game, ALL the time! My word for you today is, “Leave it all on the field.” You see my friend, when the game is over for us as individuals, it is over.

We don’t know how much time we have left to compete, to serve Him. So every morning we must wake up, get out on the field of play, and give everything we have. Too long, God’s team has dogged it. That is an athletic term for not giving their best effort. Too many of God’s players have been resting on the sidelines. Too many of God’s players are back in the locker room watching TV, having a cold drink, and taking it easy.

There is nothing wrong with taking some time out from time to time to rest, but the battle rages on, the game continues, and now more than ever, God needs His team on the field competing with everything they have! Some may say, “We already know that our team wins at the end, why should we try so hard?” Fair question. The answer is the people on the other team. Not only do we know God wins, but we know what happens to those on the losing team. THAT is our motivation for fighting every day, to help as many on the other team as possible come over to God’s team.

I will be praying for you today. Let this word today be a wake-up call, a call to action. Get out on the field and give God 100% of your effort. We don’t know how long we have to play, so don’t hold anything back.

In His love and service,
Your friend and brother in Christ,

Bill Keller

God Will have the Last Word

(Hebrews 9:27)

A few days ago, Saudi Crown Prince Sultan, heir to the Saudi Arabian throne, died at age 81. Despite the privilege this man was born into, despite the incredible wealth he controlled, despite his power as a leader of one of the top oil producing nations on the planet, the second his heart stopped beating, Prince Sultan was no longer a prince and heir to a throne, his great wealth became meaningless, his earthly power no longer existed, he was simply a man and stood before the God of the Bible, His Creator.

My friend, death is the great equalizer. I have no doubt that the second Prince Sultan passed from this life into eternity, there was a man in some part of this world, a follower of Jesus Christ who also died. However, this man was NOT born into royalty as Prince Sultan was. This man had NO wealth in his lifetime. This man was UNKNOWN to the world. Yet the moment this man died, what he didn’t have in this life didn’t matter any longer. You see, he too was simply a man standing before God his Creator just like Prince Sultan.

At that moment when this life is over and we are standing before God, there is only ONE thing that matters, DO YOU KNOW JESUS BY FAITH? You see my friend, it was God’s plan to send Jesus to die for your sins, since it is your sins that separate you from a Holy God. That is why ONLY faith in Jesus Christ will save you and allow you to spend eternity with the God who created you. I spoke with several friends who minister in Saudi Arabia and they confirmed that Prince Sultan was indeed a devout Muslim.

Sadly for him, he had put his faith in Mohammed and not Jesus. You see, Mohammed was simply a man who lived and died like you and I. He was born with the same sin that you and I are born with. That is why faith in Mohammed cannot save you. It was JESUS who God sent to this earth in a supernatural way to escape the sin we inherited from Adam. It was Jesus who lived a sinless life so that He could go to a cross 2,000 years ago and give His life as a one-time perfect sacrifice for the sins of all mankind. On the third day, God raised Him from the dead and He is ALIVE TODAY!!!

That is why the poor man who died at the same time as Prince Sultan, the man with nothing, but the man who knew Jesus Christ as his Savior is forever with God while Prince Sultan will spend all eternity in Hell for his rejection of Christ. Prince Sultan chose to live for the few years he had on earth rejecting Christ and God’s plan for everlasting life. Despite his great wealth and power during his few years on earth, he now has to live for all eternity apart from God his creator.

I love you and care about you so much. While you may not have been born into a royal family, and may not have the great wealth Prince Sultan had, the fact is that YOU TOO can get caught up in living for the temporal pleasures of this life and miss eternity. YOU TOO can get caught up with having “things” and not having Jesus. I pray today that you will take a moment and ask yourself this one question. If I die in the next minute, will I spend eternity with God, my Creator?

If you cannot emphatically and with 100% certainty say YES. If you have ANY DOUBTS AT ALL, then take a moment and pray, then go to this link, http://www.liveprayer.com/plan.cfm . YOU DO NOT EVER HAVE TO DOUBT AGAIN WHERE YOUR ETERNITY WILL BE SPENT IF YOU TAKE A MOMENT TO PRAY FOR GOD TO OPEN YOUR HEART, READ THESE WORDS, AND ACCEPT CHRIST INTO YOUR HEART AND LIFE BY FAITH!!!!

Sadly, it is too late for Prince Sultan. All of the incredible advantages and benefits that he had in this brief life DID not help him when it came to the most important question we will ever have to answer . . . DO YOU KNOW JESUS BY FAITH??? Today, YOU can settle that issue once and for all and never doubt again where YOUR eternity will be spent!!!

***We finally covered the balance of our September budget, however, with only 6 days left in October we need to bring in the $40,000 for this months operations. I have been in prayer today for the Lord to send 3 people immediately who are willing to make the sacrifce of $5,000 to help me cover$15,000 of our October budget that we need immediately. If you are able to wire of overnight a gift today or tomorrow, please contact me and I will give you our bank wiring information or FedEx account.

Amazing, less than 1/4 of 1% of those we minister to each day ever give. If 5% gave just a little each month, we would never have any financial challenges. I am asking you to take a few minutes today, especially if you have never given to Liveprayer, or haven’t in a while. I know times are difficult for many people, but I also know God is blessings most with employment, your bills are paid, and you have the ability to send a gift. The Bible teaches to give according to your ability to give, so the amount is simply something you need to pray about and let the Holy Spirit guide you.

TO GIVE A GIFT TO LIVEPRAYER, you can use your major credit card on our secure server at: http://www.liveprayer.com under the “Donation” link, you can give using your PayPal account using my email address:

A Very Simple but Powerful Word for You Today

(Malachi 3:5)

I have a very simple, but powerful word for you today. Every person reading this today, needs to hear this word. For some, it will be the very word you need to get you through a difficult time. For others, it will be a reminder of a simple truth you may have forgotten. Open your heart and receive this word from the throneroom of God Himself this day!

One thing that is clear from reading the Bible, especially the Old Testament, is that God will ALWAYS have the last word in EVERY situation. I don’t care what you are facing today, what the problem is, what the issue is…GOD WILL HAVE THE LAST WORD!!!

Regardless what the circumstances may look like, regardless what the situation appears to be, regardless what the issues are, regardless what man may say, it is GOD who will have the last word!

The application for your life today is that no matter what you are facing, no matter what you are dealing with, no matter what the circumstances may be, no matter what anyone is telling you . . . GOD WILL HAVE THE LAST WORD!!!

He is able to strengthen you to handle the problems, He is able to give you the answers that you need, He is able to make the crooked path straight, He is able to do above and beyond all you could ever ask of think . . . OUR GOD WILL HAVE THE LAST WORD!!!

There is no battle too small or too big for God. There are no issues that He cannot overcome. We all get to places in our life that we simply have to make our faith real and trust God. My friend, that is not a bad place to be.

I love you and care about you so much. I will be praying for you today, that no matter what you are going through, you will exercise your faith and trust Him. Even though the storm may be raging all around you, even though it may seem like time has run out, never forget that it is NEVER over until God has spoken. Seldom does He ever move on our time schedule, but God is never too early or too late. He is always RIGHT ON TIME! So don’t let your faith waver, no matter what you are dealing with today.

In His love and service,
Your friend and brother in Christ,

Bill Keller
