The Rich Young Ruler

(Matthew 19:16-22)

***ASK BILL: Pastor Bill, do you feel the U.S. should be the “police of the world” getting involved in numerous wars in other countries?

ANSWER: While these are issues our government makes decisions about in regard to our own national interests, my goal is that we should be the “evangelists of the world” and take the Gospel to every corner of the globe. The government will do what they do for political reasons, we as followers of Christ need to do what our job is!

16)Now a man came up to Jesus and asked, “Teacher, what good thing must I do to get eternal life?” (17)”Why do you ask me about what is good?” Jesus replied. “There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, obey the commandments.” (18)”Which ones?” the man inquired. Jesus replied, ” ‘Do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not give false testimony, (19)honor your father and mother,’and ‘love your neighbor as yourself.'” (20)”All these I have kept,” the young man said. “What do I still lack?” (21)Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” (22)When the young man heard this, he went away sad, because he had great wealth. (Matthew 19:16-22 NIV)

Today’s passage of Scripture is that powerful story of the rich young ruler. It is a story I have incorporated into my personal testimony that I have shared with millions over the past 16 years through live appearances, television and radio broadcasts, print interviews, and over the Internet. What makes this encounter between the rich young ruler and Jesus so moving is that it does not have a happy ending. When forced to choose between Jesus and the world, sadly, this rich young ruler chose the world. Today, many of you are being confronted by Jesus, and just like this rich young ruler, you have to choose Jesus or this world.

The encounter between this rich young ruler and Jesus is the same encounter people have with Christ everyday. No doubt this was a man who was very successful by the world’s standards. He had all you could ever want in this life. However, deep down, he knew something was missing in his life. He had obviously heard about this teacher named Jesus and approached Him one day, asking the Lord what good deeds he must do to receive everlasting life. This makes sense since successful people are usually very goal oriented. They are used to performing. So it only makes sense that even in spiritual matters, they are looking for the bottom line, what do they have to do to succeed.

This is why a cult like Scientology flourishes and appeals to successful people, especially people in the entertainment industry. It is a cult strictly based on works and money. Successful people are used to buying their way into the best clubs, the best restaurants, buying the best cars, the best homes, the best of whatever this world has to offer. They understand the mentality of work hard, achieve a goal, and purchase whatever you want. So when it comes to the spiritual side of their life, they are ripe candidates for a lie from the pits of hell like Scientology that tells a person that with enough good works and enough money, they are assured of being part of the spiritual elite, just like they are part of the elite in this life.

Jesus shared with this rich young ruler some of the commandments and the young ruler affirmed he had followed those commandments. Then Jesus shared with this young man the price of following Christ. He told this young ruler to go sell all that he had, give it to the poor and then come follow Him. Now I have heard many people over the years incorrectly use this passage of Scripture as an indictment against having wealth. That is NOT what Jesus was saying. Christ in His omniscience knew that as long as this rich young ruler had all of his possessions, he would never put Jesus first in his life.

You see my friend, when you have been blessed with lots of material possessions, lots of money, the trap so many fall into is thinking they are sufficient unto themselves, that they don’t need anyone else, even God. When you have the ability to do whatever you want, go wherever you want to go, buy whatever you want to buy, you get the false sense that you are in control. While having money and possessions does give you a certain amount of control over your life, there is still so much that you are NOT in control of and never will be. Your faith and trust is in yourself and in your money, not in God. In most cases, it is not even the money as much as it is the power, the ego, the pride that comes with having wealth and possessions. Those things are actually more difficult to let go of than the money.

The sad ending of this encounter comes in the 22nd verse when the Bible says, “he went away sad.” The bottom line, He rejected Christ and chose the world. When it came time to make his choice, he chose his money and possessions over Jesus. This story is personal to me because there were many times, not just once, during the decade of my life that I was running from God and enjoying all of the success this world could offer, when I had this same encounter with the Lord. In my case, He was not even saying sell all I had. He was simply saying, leave the business world and come and follow me. Time after time, Christ gave me the opportunity to turn from the things of the world and surrender my life to Him. Time after time, I chose the world over following the Lord.

I was blessed that God loved me enough to allow things to happen in my life that caused me to finally surrender to Him. Sadly, it took losing everything, including my freedom for that to happen. How much easier my life would have been if I had only listened to the Lord earlier. A short version of my testimony is on my website at under Founder’s Testimony. Also, here is a link to a story done by a secular publication a year ago that gives a very fair and detailed account of my life, . We don’t know whatever happened to the rich young ruler. I pray that at some point before he died, he did make the choice to follow Christ.

I love you and care about you so much. I know many of you reading this today are like the rich young ruler. You know deep down inside that something is missing from your life. You have heard about Jesus. In many cases, you have done your best to follow God’s commandments but I am here today to tell you that isn’t enough. You see my friend, you will never be good enough to earn everlasting life, that is God’s gift to you. You can’t earn it, you can’t buy it, it is only available by faith in His Son Jesus Christ. When you ask Christ into your heart and life by faith, you are surrendering your life to Him. The Bible proclaims that it is no longer your life, but His. He gave His life in payment for your sins, and you in turn give your life to Him.

Like the rich young ruler, like Bill Keller many times, you can choose to reject Christ and hold onto your life. But think about it, what are you holding onto? The reality is, your life will be over one day, sooner than you think. At that point you will pass from this short journey into eternity and those who don’t know Christ as their Savior will spend that eternity forever separated from God your Creator. What you do when you reject Christ is forfeit the treasure of eternal life with Christ for a few days of whatever scraps this world can offer. Clearly not a wise choice.

Today, you are having an encounter with Jesus just like that rich young ruler did we read about in Matthew 19. You have a choice to make today, since the Bible proclaims, “Today is the day of salvation.” Will you choose Jesus, or go away sad. If you want to choose Jesus today, pray and ask God to open your heart, then read the words at:

In His love and service,

(1 Corinthians 15:57)

“Brother Bill, Thanks for all your prayers. Things are looking up for me with my business. I found a new location with more foot traffic, and seems like a better place for me. I was struggling with not giving into worldly things, but I noticed since I’ve been taking heed to your devotionals and I’ve been aware of trying to be a better Christian, and spending more time in Prayer, my life has been more blessed and I’ve even been happier. Thank you for all you do, I don’t know if you hear that enough, but your ministry has changed my life as I’m sure it has for countless others.” “Dear Bill Keller, I have just accepted the alter call to be born again.”

“Dear Bill, in October of 2013, I was watching you on TV. I never was religious and barely believed in God. A particular show made an impact on me and I took Jesus as my Lord and Savior. I have never once regretted and I have grown in my faith and relationship with the Lord. I want to say ‘Thank you.’ I read the Bible, go to Church and have become a better person. Pastor Keller, you made a BIG difference in my life. God bless you and thank you for leading me to Jesus and changing my life!”

“I just wanted to let everyone know that giving to the Lords work really pays off. I have been giving to this ministry what little I can and every time I give the lord blesses me back ten fold.”

“I got my miracle. Kodi’s brain tumor has completely gone as per a scan this afternoon. I cannot thank you enough for your prayers and healing. God bless you. One happy grandma.”

“A few weeks ago I asked for your help in prayer concerning a pension plan that I administer that was being audited by the IRS. On Friday, I spoke with the agent who told me that he had found no fault with what we had done, even though we had made some errors, and that I should expect to receive a letter saying that in a month of so. Praise God, in the name of Jesus, for protecting me and this pension plan!”

“Just wanted to let you know that God has ANSWERED our prayers and sent my husband back to me yesterday. I rejoice in this decision and praise God!! Thank You God, our most AWESOME, Heavenly Father for taking the devil’s hold off our marriage and my husband!!”

“Thank you Bill, Your mails really lifted me up when I was at a very dark place in my life some time ago!”

“Hello Sir. I like to thank you for all your prays over the past years when I was in Iraq. Your prayers helped me get through that difficult time in my life. God bless you for being there!!!”

“Thanks again for your prayers. I got the results from my surgery and they said the polyps were benign and my kidney’s looked fine. Praise God!”

“Hello my name is Justin, and I just prayed that prayer. Your video asked me to send you an e-mail telling you so, and now I have. Thank you!”

It has been YOUR prayers and YOUR sacrificial gifts that has enabled us to be here 24/7/365 online and for nearly 12 years now on non-Christian TV around the nation! God bless you!

Look at what is currently in the news!!!

-The star of the new “Exodus” movie, Christian Bale, calls Moses a barbarian and a schizophrenic! The movie is a complete abomination to the truth of God’s Word. I will do a full Devotional soon on this blasphemous movie but suffice it to say it is NOT in line with God’s Word! Why do Christians keep expecting the lost world to do their job of sharing the true Gospel message???

-A California school is now identifying “yoga” as a state relgion so they can teach children the new-age lies from hell embedded in this false belief system that is being offered as a form of exercise! I wish I could tell you how many churches offer this form or “exercise” whose foundation is in a satan-inspired belief system. The Bible tell us that the people “perish for a lack of knowledge!”

-Christian schools in the UK are being told they MUST promote other “faiths” to avoid being shut down for bigotry. Trust me, that day is coming very soon here in the US when Christian schools will be forced by the government to teach their students the beliefs of the cults and false religions of the world.

-The Obama administration continues its hostility to Israel as a top administration staff person calls Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu a “chickens*%t.” NO administration has been more hostile to Israel than this current President and his staff!

-My dear friends at CAIR who have come after me for over a decade is now after liberal/progressive political advocate Bill Maher for daring to tell the truth about the false relgion of Islam. How does it feel Bill for being attacked and harassed for simply telling the truth???

-The White House now knows how Liveprayer feels when internet hacking groups like “anonymous” target you. With the full power and financial backing of the US government, they couldn’t stop it. Do you see how God has protected us, a frequent target of these high-end hackers, over 15+ years?

-2% of Anglican priests don’t even believe in God. Is there any wonder why the church today is in the spritual abyss it finds itself in?

-ISIS is teaching young boys to embrace and participate in “jihad.”

-In Tennessee, an 8-year-old boy brings home a flyer promoting Islam by blasting the Presidents on Mount Rushmore as nothing but evil racists.

-In Cooper City, Fl outside of Ft. Lauderdale, a Muslim teacher at an Islamic school has been charged with abusing young girls. Of course, Islam teaches it is perfectly acceptable to take “brides” who are 10 years old!

-MSNBC recently promoted feminist Katha Pollitt who espouses that it is more “moral” to slaughter a baby in the womb than to give birth to the child! A major 24-hour news network, part of the largest TV conglomerate Comcast, celebrating the killing of babies!

Back on the 22nd of September I shared with you, I shared with you a powerful, prophetic word on the final 100 days of this year. With just 62 days left, we are coming upon the place where as a nation we will begin to turn back to God and His Truth, or sink even further into the spiritual abyss and be lost forever.

With your love, prayers, and support, Liveprayer is leading the charge and I am asking you to pray about what God is calling YOU to do to help me as we end this month, and the final two months ahead, with our basic operational needs current so this incredible platform bringing God’s Truth and the hope and love of Christ to this lost and hurting nation will keep burning bright in the darkness!

***We only brought in $1,000 Wednesday. I do thank all who have been praying over this past week and those dear friends who have been able to help me at this critical time. With just these next few days left in October we still require the final $15,000 of our October internet budget, the $28,000 we are behind as of the end of September on our Chicago TV contract, plus the $25,000 we need for October’s TV budget. That is a total of $68,000! We started last week requiring $100,000 by the end of this month to be totally current with our internet and TV budgets, and after the $32,000 we received over the past week that total is down to $68,000 ($53,000 for TV and $15,000 for the internet) required over these final 2 days!!! Please keep praying about the sacrifce God is calling you to make to help me insure we end this month with all of our ministry operations current!!!

*NOTE: We were told last Thursday that if we can’t pay the $28,000 we are in arrears on our Chicago TV contract Monday the 27th, the program will have to be cancelled as of this week in that market of 10 million people. —>We are only being aired for one of our two hours, and sadly are now only on an “over the air” extra channel of the network thru this Friday that few can get. We are in prayer to keep this INCREDIBLE voice we have enjoyed for the past 8 months, with thousands coming to faith in Jesus, tens of thousands of lives impacted, and apx. 200,000 (60% who aren’t Christians) nightly hearing God’s Truth they would never be hearing without the Liveprayer TV program!!!!

PLEASE pray about allowing God to use you like He used that young man sacrificing his few loaves and fishes in order that the multitudes were fed. If God is speaking to you about helping me with this critical need, I need you to contact me ASAP so we can discuss the quickest way to get the funds to the station immediately, at:

—>IF JUST 68 MORE OF OUR FRIEND WILL HELP ME TODAY WITH A SPECIAL ONE-TIME $1,000 GIFT OR MORE WE CAN BE CURRENT OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS!!! Please pray about a special one-time year-end gift of $1,000 or more to help me insure Liveprayer continues to be a beacon of light to so many each day! Many will be getting a year-end bonus. Some of you have recently sold a home, some property, a business, stocks, or something else. Please pray about sending a portion of those funds to help God’s work here at Liveprayer!!!

TO GIVE A GIFT TO LIVEPRAYER, you can use your major credit card on our secure server at: under the “Donation” link, you can give using your PayPal account using my email address: , or you can mail your gift to: Liveprayer, 6660 46th Ave. North, St.Petersburg, FL 33709. Thank you for your love, your prayers, your sacrificial gifts. Together, God has used our lives to impact so many around the world every day for these past 15 yrs. Over 800,000 souls will escape the horrors of hell and be in Heaven for eternity. However, our work is not finished. We still have more to do, since the Lord has raised this ministry up as He raised up Jonah, to lead this nation back to God and His Truth or see His wrath and judgment!

The Great Feasts of the Upcoming Holidays and the Sin of Gluttony

(Proverbs 25:27)

***ASK BILL: Pastor Bill, do the souls of aborted babies go to be with our Lord in heaven? Do the souls of children who die before they are able to ask Jesus to come into their lives, even if they may be Jewish or Muslim, get to go to heaven?

ANSWER: Yes and yes! Salvation is by our faith in Christ and God’s grace, Ephesians 2:8,9. Babies and young children who die and aren’t old enough to understand their sinful nature, will be in Heaven due to God’s grace.

In my years of ministry, I could always get the “Amen corner” into my sermons when I preached against homosexuality, preached against the more visible sins. On those occasions when I preached on the sin of gluttony, it usually got very quiet. I realize this will be a difficult read for many today, but that is one reason I am here . . . to challenge you.

Let me say right up front, gluttony IS a sin. God said so. Anything that you do in excess, to your detriment, to the detriment of your ability to serve God, that is ahead of your daily relationship with God, is a sin.

Let me also add something very important. There are just as many skinny gluttons as overweight gluttons! Let me say that once more. There are just as many skinny gluttons as overweight gluttons. Being overweight can be caused by many things, and just because a person is heavy, does NOT mean they are a glutton. Again, ANYTHING that you put ahead of your relationship with the Lord is a sin. If you are a thin person, but put food ahead of your relationship with Christ, you are a glutton!

I know that during the upcoming Holiday season many sit down to some incredible feasts. I am not saying you shouldn’t, and I am not saying you should not enjoy food. I believe God gave us food to nourish our body, our taste buds to enjoy food, and eating is a wonderful part of our life. Gluttony however refers to eating in excess. I know many fine men and women of God that live tremendous lives and do great works for the Lord. However, this is an area that they struggle with and that is why I bring it to you today.

Like all sin, gluttony can be overcome, not in our own strength, but in His. Like all sins, if you fight this battle, you need a battle plan. God can give you that plan, the strength to carry it out, and the perseverance to get victory. Like in other sins though, the question becomes, do you really want victory? Do you really want to conquer this foe? Do you even recognize that this is a problem in your life?

At this point, you have either accepted through the prompting of the Holy Spirit that this is an issue in your life, or you have realized that this is not something that you battle with. If you are in the latter category, then I would encourage you to pray for those who do fight this battle each day.

I have no doubt that you know people in your family, school, workplace, church, that are going through this struggle. Pray for them today. Pray that the Lord would open their eyes and show them this is a problem they need to deal with. Pray that they will have the courage, like anyone who is dealing with a specific sin, to admit it and allow the Lord to help them get victory over gluttony.

I love you, care about you, and realize the sensitive nature of this sin. But there is no use in hiding it or candy coating the problem. It is time to recognize it as a problem, and get busy fighting it and letting God help you to become victorious over this battle in your life.

If you are struggling with gluttony today, I will be praying specifically for you. I realize what a difficult struggle this can be. If you will take that first step, admit this is a problem, God will help you be victorious in this battle with gluttony!

In His love and service,
Your friend and brother in Christ,

Bill Keller

“Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.” – (1 Corinthians 10:12)

You have a battle with alcohol and promise the Lord you will stop drinking, 12 days later you drink. You have a battle with prescription drugs and promise the Lord you will quit, 4 days later you take some more. You have a battle with pornography and vow to the Lord you won’t look at porn any more, 17 days later you are looking at porn. You have a battle with your weight and tell the Lord no more sweets, 2 nights later you are sitting at your kitchen table eating a quart of Häagen-Dazs. You have a battle with smoking and finally tell the Lord you won’t smoke again, 24 days later you are having a cigarette. What do you do when you decide once and for all to take a stand over whatever bondage you may be battling in your life, to start living in victory over that bondage, and then fall off the wagon?

When you fall off the wagon, you feel like a failure. You are consumed with guilt and shame. You can’t believe after you did so good you fell. You are disgusted with yourself for being so weak. You know in your heart you not only let the Lord down, but broke your promise to Him. On top of all of those feelings and emotions, here comes your old buddy the devil to pour salt in the fresh wound. He reemphasizes what a failure you are, how you lied to Jesus and now He wants nothing to do with you, that whatever goes wrong in your life is God punishing you for falling, how the Bible is lie otherwise you would have been delivered from this bondage, that it is OK to give in to your carnal urges, God really doesn’t expect you to be perfect, and oh yes the best of all, you aren’t really saved or you wouldn’t sin like that.

WOW, are you still with me or did you stop reading and delete this already? The fact is, EVERYONE needs to hang in there and get through this message today since EVERYONE has bondages that we fight throughout the course of our life. Just so you know, lying is as much of a bondage as drugs. Gossiping is as much of a bondage as homosexuality. Anger is as much of a bondage as alcohol. Being mean to people is as much of a bondage as pornography. The fact is, we all have bondages in our life. Some people may not be fighting the more visible and popular bondages, but anything that is keeping you from being like Jesus and living in obedience to God’s Word is a bondage!

Since we all fight different bondages during our life, it is critical to talk about what happens when we fall off the wagon or fail since that is part of the battle. Let me say right up front, when you fail it doesn’t mean you don’t love the Lord or aren’t really saved, it simply means your flesh is weak. Paul summed up this classic battle between our flesh and the Spirit in Romans 7 when he stated that, “He did the things he didn’t want to do and didn’t do the things he wanted to do.” My friend, we are men and women of flesh and blood. Our flesh is weak. Failure is part of the human experience.

Does that make is OK to sin? OF COURSE NOT! Is it an excuse to sin? OF COURSE NOT! Does it mean we are doomed to failure? OF COURSE NOT! It simply means that in the course of battling with whatever bondage you may be dealing with, you may have a moment of weakness and fail God. What I want to do today is share with you how to respond to your failure. What do you do when you fall off the wagon?

The first thing you do is go to God and ask Him to forgive you. 1 John 1:9 tells us that if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us of all unrighteousness. After you go to God and confess your sins, asking Him to forgive you, the next step is to go back to living in victory over your bondage as you were before you fell. It is the old adage of when you fall off a horse get right back on. Don’t ever forget, you have an enemy that wants to see you fail, that takes delight when you fail. If you do fall off the wagon, ask the Lord’s forgiveness and then get right back to living in victory and freedom over your bondage.

This is where your faith has to take over and becomes so important. You have to realize that even though your bondage is in the natural, what you are really fighting is a spiritual battle. While you need to have the practical day-to-day pieces in place to live in victory, things like being accountable to others, staying away from people, places, or things that could cause you to fall, working hard to keep from being in a position to be tempted, you also have to work on the spiritual aspects of walking in victory. The Bible tells us that our battles are NOT against flesh and blood, but they are spiritual.

That is why we have to be praying every day, all throughout the day. We have to be in the Word of God every day, taking time to study and meditate on His Truth. We have to be part of a local church to be fed and grow spiritually, to have fellowship with other Believers, to serve the Lord. These are the basics we have to be doing to stay connected to the Lord each day and stay strong spiritually. We already know our flesh is weak, so we can never lose sight that it is a constant daily battle to live in victory. We can never take for granted that we have won and are safe, since the second we stop doing the things necessary to keep our faith strong, that is when we will fall.

Today’s anchor verse from 1 Corinthians is the key. We can never stop doing the things we must do to stay strong spiritually or we will fail God. I know in my own life as I have worked to overcome different bondages in my life, to try to become more like Jesus each day, when I am not praying as hard as I should, or when I am not reading and studying the Word like I should, or when I am not doing all the things to stay strong spiritually that I should, that is when I fail God. When you stop doing all the things you need to do each day to stay strong spiritually, that is when you will fall off the wagon.

I love you and care about you so much. Everyone reading these words today knows what it is like to fight some bondage in your life, get victory for a period of time, then fail. That is part of life my friend. The Book of First John was written to Believers and tells us that if we say we don’t sin then we are a liar. God doesn’t stop loving you or caring about you. His promises didn’t change, they are still true. YOU ARE MORE THAN A CONQUEROR IN CHRIST JESUS! My word for you today is that when you are in the battle over some bondage in your life and fall off the wagon, go to God and tell Him you are sorry and then get back on that road to victory!

Don’t waste precious time having a pity party and being discouraged. Don’t sit there and listen to satan lie to you. Get back to doing the practical and spiritual things you need to do in your life each day and start enjoying the great feeling it is to live your life in obedience to God and His Word and in victory over those weaknesses in your life. God has much work for you to do, so the quicker you get back to walking on the road of victory, the quicker you can get back to fulfilling your purpose in this life which is to serve and glorify Him!

I will be praying for you today. Praying especially for those who have fallen off the wagon. God is a God of restoration and He wants to restore you today so that you can not only live in victory over your bondage, but know the peace and joy of your relationship with Him. We all wish we could go back and do things different in our life but that is not reality. The reality is if you have fallen off the wagon it is time to get up, dust yourself off, and get back into that close, intimate daily walk with the Lord so that you are operating in His strenght and not your own. In your strength it is only a matter of time before you fail. In His strength, you will not fail but live in VICTORY!!!

In His love and service,
Your friend and brother in Christ,

Bill Keller

Today is the most important day of your life! With the days of 2014 winding down and the holidays on the horizon, it is easy to simply take these days for granted. Sadly, much of our lives are lived on “auto pilot” and one day simply runs into the next. This is incredibly dangerous since it cheapens the value of each day, and causes us to take our lives for granted. If you hear one thing from today’s message, HEAR THIS! TODAY IS THE MOST IMPORTANT DAY OF YOUR LIFE!

Why do I say that? Simple. One thing that the Bible clearly teaches is that tomorrow is promised to nobody. Each day is a gift from God and tomorrow is not promised to any of us. I want you to take a few moments right now and simply dwell on the fact that God GAVE YOU THIS DAY. I realize that you have an agenda for the day, that you have things you must get done, that you have a very tight schedule. But let me ask you a couple of serious questions. PONDER THESE QUESTIONS.

What if in the course of your busy day you are driving along and another cars hits you? What if you are sitting in your office and all of a sudden your chest gets tight and you can’t seem to get your breath? What if you are walking to school and out of nowhere guns go off and bullets are flying by? Sound far fetched? Sound like unreasonable questions?

EVERY DAY tens of thousands are involved in auto accidents that they never planned on being involved in when they left their homes that morning. EVERY DAY people end up in hospitals for a variety of health issues, never thinking for a second that they would not be in their own bed that night. EVERY DAY people are involved in random acts of violence that alter, or in some cases, end their life. What I am saying to you is that YOU HAVE NO IDEA how this day will unfold. YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT WILL HAPPEN TODAY.

My goal, today, is NOT to scare you, to make you paranoid, or to make you afraid to live. My only goal is to make you appreciate how SPECIAL this day is, how special each day is! We get so focused on our lives that we forget each day is a special gift from God. THAT is the point I want you to take from this word today. TODAY IS SPECIAL. It is a day like no other, and when it is over, you will never have it again. So the ultimate question becomes, how do I make today count?

LIVE FOR HIM. Let your light shine wherever you are at today. Let the love of Jesus flow through you to all those that you encounter today. Make sure that the average person you meet in your day’s journey knows that there is something different about you. You have something. That something is an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ! Show HIS love throughout the day in all that you do.

My challenge to you is to make today, not just another day, but the SPECIAL DAY that God made it to be! IT IS THE ONLY DAY THAT YOU ARE GUARANTEED! THAT IS WHY IT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT DAY OF YOUR LIFE!

I love you and care about you so much! I share this word with you today just to remind you how precious life really is. Not only how precious, but how quickly it can end. DON’T EVER TAKE YOUR LIFE FOR GRANTED. EACH DAY IS A SPECIAL GIFT FROM GOD. Let me also say that for anyone reading this today, that does not have 100% assurance that if your life ends today you will spend eternity with God, the Bible says TODAY is the day of salvation!

Please take a few minutes, the most important few minutes of your life, and go to: Pray and ask God to open your heart, then read the words and watch the short video clip. Please share it with everyone that you know who doesn’t know Jesus as their Savior.

In His love and service,
Your friend and brother in Christ,

Bill Keller

Suicide Bombers Total Commitment to What They Believe

(1 Peter 2:12)

***ASK BILL: Pastor Bill, I attended a Messianic Jewish church for four years and really loved it as when you hear and understand the Jewish traditions behind scriptures, it can really open up the scripture for you and make more sense, at least for me. My question is this, the Jewish church is against cremation and stresses that you should have a regular burial, casket etc. Is there any scripture in the Bible that states one should not be cremated?

ANSWER: How to dispose of a dead body is a cultural issue. The Bible mandates that from the dust we came and to the dust we will return. There is NOTHING in the Bible that states a body must be buried, nor is there anything that prohibits cremation. Here is a link to a Devotional on this very issue in great detail.

One of the undeniable facts about those who are committing these horrible suicide bombings if Islam, is their total commitment to what they believe. It is misguided and horribly wrong what they do, but I can only pray today that those who claim to have their faith in Christ would be JUST as passionate and JUST as committed to the cause of Christ.

Of course, these people represent a minority of those who put their faith in the false religion of Islam, but the fact is, they are SO committed to their cause, SO committed to their belief, that they are willing to give their very lives for it!. My question for you today is simply this. Are you as committed to your faith in Christ to give your very life for Him, if that is what you are asked to do?

In the United States, we have had the luxury of being very comfortable in our faith. We worship in freedom, not having to worry about outside interferences from those who do not agree with the message of our Lord. Even today, there are MANY places on this earth that this is NOT the case. We have many who get this Devotional every day in parts of the world where you could literally be put to death for proclaiming faith in Christ.

Sadly, in many parts of our world today, there are man and women who have put their faith in Jesus who are literally giving their very life for their faith!!! Those students of church history understand that this has been the choice many of God’s people have had to make since the very first church

I have often wondered what would happen if one Sunday morning a group of Muslims with machine guns came into a church, lined the people up, and simply said, “anyone who wants to renounce Christ and accept allah can go home, the rest of you will be killed.” I really wonder how many would stand and claim Christ with their last breath? Are we as passionate about our faith today, to literally give our lives for it?

Today’s Devotional is very short on purpose. I don’t want you to think about anything else today but this one question, “if you were asked to give your life for Christ, would you?”

I love you and care about you very much. The FACT is, if your answer is yes, then that means you are willing to do whatever God is calling you to do, whatever God is asking you to do to further His Kingdom here on earth. We are clearly living in the last days as Jesus described in Matthew 24 and Paul spoke of in 2 Timothy 3, and 2 Peter 3.

God IS asking you today to surrender your life to Him so that He can use you to reach others with the promise of everlasting life. Are you willing to give your life to Him? Are you wiling to do all that He is asking you to do to see others come into the everlasting knowledge of Jesus Christ? Only a very few will ever be asked to literally die for the Lord, but ALL of God’s children are asked daily to surrender their lives to Him so that He can use you for His plan and purpose!

The one thing that we know is that Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life. It is ONLY through Him that man comes to know everlasting life. The fact is, the suicide bombers are daily giving their life for the lost cause that they have bought into. My challenge to you today is this, ARE YOU WILLING TO GIVE YOUR LIFE FOR CHRIST?

In His love and service,
Your friend and brother in Christ,

Bill Keller

Our Ability to Make Choices

(Psalms 25:9, 119:30; Romans 12:2; Isaiah 30:21)

***ASK BILL: Pastor Bill, I heard on Moody radio that there is a great number of Muslims turning to Christ. Is this a sign we are closer to end of times?

ANSWER: I don’t know if it any sign of the end times, however, it is a great testimony to those ministries focused on evangelizing Muslims. We praise God for those who not only will listen to the Gospel, but often put their life and the lives of their family on the line to convert to Christianity since Islam calls for such people to be put to death!

I was standing in line at the bank the other day, patiently waiting for the person in front of me to go through her bank statements for the last year to figure out why there was not more money in her account. As I was waiting, I read a warning about someone who had been robbing banks in our area. When it was my turn, there was that instant when I realized instead of making the deposit I was there to make, I could simply ask the teller to give me all of the money in her drawer. I doubt I would get very far since everyone in the bank watches the Liveprayer television program and my office is about 2 minutes away, but the point is, I had the ability to make that choice.

There are a multitude of reasons why I did NOT make that choice. I would have been letting God down and disgracing His name, that money did not belong to me and it was against the law for me to take it, I love my wife and the consequences of that choice would hurt her and our marriage, not to mention I have already had one government sponsored vacation in my life and have no desire for another. I am sure we could come up with many more reasons but suffice it to say it would have been a horrible choice and the consequences of that choice would have been life changing.

Obviously this is an extreme example, but the fact is God has given us the ability to make choices and we exercise that ability over and over throughout the course of each day. You may not have to make the choice to rob a bank or not, but you may have to choose whether or not to call someone who you know is not good for your life. You may have to choose whether or not to go to lunch with someone who is not your spouse that the enemy is tempting you with. You may have to choose whether or not to lie to close a business deal that means a substantial amount of money in your pocket.

You may have to choose whether or not to drink alcohol or take drugs. You may have to choose whether or not to go to a strip club. You may have to choose whether or not to access pornography on your computer or watch an X-rated movie on your television. You may have to choose whether or not to eat food that you know is not good for you. You may have to choose whether or not to exercise or just sit on your couch and do nothing all evening. All throughout the day we are making choices and each choice is critical because they carry consequences. Good choices bring forth good consequences and bad choices bring forth bad consequences.

This is why the Bible talks about the “renewing of our mind.” This is why so often I remind you how important that daily walk with the Lord through prayer and the Word is. The closer we are to the Lord, the more we take on the mind of Christ. The more we think like the Lord, the more Godly our choices will be. So much of the pain and heartache we face in this life stems from our own poor choices. As we make those choices in our lives throughout the day based on what God would want us to do, what would please Him, what will honor Him, after a while making the right choices becomes easy and natural. The more we practice making Godly choices, the easier it becomes to make Godly choices.

I love you and care about you so much. This may seem like a very elementary word today, but it is one of those basic issues that needs to be addressed from time to time. We go throughout the day making choices, much of the time not ever really thinking about those choices or the consequences of them. I want you to take some time today and reflect on how important the choices you make are. Making the wrong choice can literally change or even cost you your very life. Conversely, making the right choice can bring blessings to you and many others. YOUR CHOICES MATTER!

I will be praying for you today to consciously think about the choices you are making in your life each day and simply ask yourself if this is a choice that honors the Lord, if this is a choice that an ambassador of Christ, a follower of Jesus should make. I can tell you from my life, the best choices I make are those that I take a moment to pray over. So much of the time we are making one choice after another, going through the entire day making sometimes very important choices with major consequences without even taking 10 seconds to pray about that choice.

If you know Jesus as your Savior, you have the Holy Spirit dwelling within you. It is the very power of Almighty God available to you. To not take advantage of asking the Holy Spirit to guide you and help you in the choices you make throughout your day is simply foolish. God loves you and cares about you so much. He even cares what you choose to eat for lunch so please, don’t ignore Him when you are making your choices each day. It is God who gives us the ability to make choices, and it is God who will guide us as we make those choices if we will ask Him.

In His love and service,
Your friend and brother in Christ,

Bill Keller
