What is Your Goal?

(Luke 12:16-21)

***DAILY PERSONAL PRAYER FOR YOU: Lord, grant me humility this day. Let me to humble myself before you and other men. Help me to begin and reconcile any relationships that are broken this day. Give me the wisdom and words to bring healing with those who I am currently estranged with. I know with you ALL things are possible. Help me this day to do my part to heal any strained or broken relationships I ask in the name of Jesus…AMEN!

We all get so bogged down in the day to day activities of life, that we can lose sight of the big picture. One of the goals I have each day is to help you stay focused on that “big picture.” The ultimate “American dream” for many is to win several million dollars, buy a huge home, new cars, quit your job. But what do you do after that? That becomes the big question. When you have all of those things that you ever dreamed of, when you have accomplished all of the things you strive for then what?

In today’s scripture, we read about a man who could have easily been living in the year 2004. Obviously very talented. Obviously very goal oriented. He had his plan, he followed it through, and he achieved everything he wanted. But soon after that, the Lord says, “You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you.”

You see my friend, this Devotional in no way is meant to tell you that your goals are not important. It is in no way meant to tell you that you should not strive to have the best things that this life can offer. There is nothing wrong with that at all. What I am trying to get you to hear today is that you MUST keep your goals prioritized and in perspective. To simply let your goal be “get all I can now” is a bad goal.

The Bible says, “what does it profit a man to gain the whole world, yet lose his soul?” That of course is for an unsaved person who wants everything, but eventually must realize that there is an eternal life when this one is over, where all of those things you accomplish and gain in this life have no meaning. That is just as true for the Christian. While we work on our earthly goals, we MUST keep focused on, and never lose sight of, our eternal goals.

Those things that we gain in this life will be gone the instant our life is over and we pass into eternity. At that point, the ONLY thing that matters is our personal relationship with Jesus Christ. I have said it often, and will continue to remind you of this fact. The ONLY thing we take from this life into eternity is our personal relationship with Christ.

That is why I harp constantly on our intimate, daily walk with Him. We do that through the Word and through prayer. At that instant when this life ends, that personal relationship with Christ is all that will matter. With that being the case, why do we spend so much time on striving to accomplish things in this world that will one day be meaningless, and so little time on our walk with Christ which one day will be all that we have?

I love you and care about you so very much. Each day I do my best to share my heart with you and allow God to pour through me meaningful things that will help you in your daily life. My challenge for you today is to not get so focused on the goals of this world, that you lose sight of your eternal goals. Work just as hard on your relationship with Christ as you do in your day to day work here on earth. Don’t let the things of this temporary world consume you to the point that you miss the eternal goals we all should be working on.

We need to be careful. The media, our culture, pushes us daily to “have it all.” We get so consumed with that message that we forget we can never have it all, unless we have Jesus. The greatest goals that we can have are not our earthly goals, but our Heavenly goals!

In His love and service,

Your friend and brother in Christ,

Bill Keller

Men No Longer Fear God

(Luke 12:4,5; Ecclesiastes 12:13)

***DAILY PERSONAL PRAYER FOR YOU: Lord, even though we have no right to ask, please continue to watch over this nation. Thank you for showing us the clear signs of destruction our sin and rebellion have heaped upon our land. I pray today that as a nation we will turn back to you and your Truth. Give me strength as days of persecution are upon us, and let me stand proud and strong for you and your Kingdom. In the name of Jesus I pray…AMEN!

Men no longer fear God. Jesus taught his disciples a great truth about human nature that is just as applicable today as it was when our Lord spoke these words. He pointed out how men feared other men, those who could take their life, but had no real fear of God, the one who could condemn their soul to eternal punishment. Fast forward 2000 years later and the same mindset exists. Men will fear other men, but have little to no fear of God. We fear those who can kill us, but the reality is, we will all die one day. We show no fear of God, the one each man will stand before and be judged by the moment they die.

If you accept the Bible for what it is, God’s inspired, inerrant word representing absolute truth and our final authority in all matters, then Solomon was the wisest man that ever lived. Over the years, I have carefully studied his life, the things he said, trying to tap into his wisdom. As a man, like all men, Solomon made many mistakes in his life and gave into the temptations of this sinful world on many occasions. It doesn’t make me feel any better, but it does help when I make mistakes to know that even the wisest man who ever lived also made many mistakes during his life.

I have torn apart the Book of Ecclesiastes many times and have spent countless hours reading Solomon’s summation of this life. In looking back over his life, having had all that anyone who lives in this world could ever want, the word that Solomon used over and over was “meaningless.” As he looked back, he realized that in the end all of the temporal things of this world were exactly that, meaningless. It is, actually, a pretty negative book until you get to the next to last verse. As only the wisest man who ever lived could, in 6 words Solomon summed up what this life is all about, “Fear God and Keep His Commandments.”

This may sound like an oversimplification, but it really isn’t. The Hebrew word for fear is not the type of fear you have when you are afraid, but literally means to be in awe, in reverence. That should always be our attitude towards God-awe and reverence. Keeping His commandments refers to obeying the Word of God. My friends, if we can do this throughout our lives, fear God and keep His commandments, we have found the key to what this life is really all about since this is the whole duty of man.

You see, this world honors those who lead great armies into war, rule empires and nations; those who have amassed tremendous wealth; people who are responsible for accomplishing incredible feats during their life. But all of these great accomplishments are only temporary. The truly great accomplishments in this life are the things we do that will stand for eternity. Sharing the truth of God’s Word with people, leading the lost to an everlasting relationship with Jesus Christ, helping those who know Christ become all God wants them to be. These are things the world will never see, but God will remember.

Solomon at the end of his long, successful, and distinguished life on this earth summed it all up by saying that the whole duty of man is to fear God and keep His commandments!!!

I love you and care about you so much. I tell you often to stay focused on the things above as opposed to the things of this life. I pray, today, that you will take a long hard look at your goals and priorities, and make fearing God and keeping His commandments number one. Our purpose in this life is to serve and glorify God. If fearing Him and keeping His commandments is how to fulfill His purpose for our life, then that must be our top priority each day.

I pray today that you will listen to the wisdom of Solomon and that each day the most important thing in your life will be to “fear God and keep His commandments.” That, my friend, is the whole duty of man and the bottom line to what this life is all about. I pray today that you will heed the words of Jesus and not fear men who can kill your physical body that will one day expire and return to the dust of the earth as God commanded, but fear the one who will judge your eternal soul…God!

In His love and service,

Your friend and brother in Christ,

Bill Keller

(Deuteronomy 10:12; Matthew 9:9)

***DAILY PERSONAL PRAYER FOR YOU: Father, bless me this day to have the courage to stand up for YOUR TRUTH in my daily life. Give me boldness to proclaim YOUR TRUTH when I am with those who mock and demean our faith in Christ and for following the teachings of the Bible. No matter what they may say, let me be not afraid to stand for you. In Jesus name…AMEN!

“As Jesus went on from there, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax collector’s booth. “Follow me,” he told him, and Matthew got up and followed him.” – Matthew 9:9 (NIV)

Each day this ministry is in prayer for people of all ages who are dealing with tremendous mental and health challenges. Many prayer requests we get each day are simply for God to give them a moment’s relief from the pain in their body. Sadly, every day we are in prayer for people who have had a family member or close friend die. The reality of this life is that because of sin, our bodies do break down and become sick at some point. Death is a reality that each one of us will face one day. That is why today I want to encourage and challenge you to not waste even one day that God can use your life in His service.

I look back over my life and zero in on that 12-year period when I was not walking with the Lord, living in rebellion to God, His Word, and most of all, His plan for my life. During those years, God blessed me with a clear mind, perfect health, tremendous energy, things that you cannot put a price tag on. I took those incredible blessings from God for granted and instead of using my life to serve Him, chose instead to serve myself. I took those precious gifts from God and did not use them to bring glory to Him, but to myself. I took for granted life itself, acting like it would never end, when the Bible clearly teaches that tomorrow is promised to none of us.

Even though I am only 49 and God has continued to bless me with a clear mind (though some may argue that point on certain days), tremendous energy, and great health, I never take one day for granted, since I know that I wake up each morning and my mind and body continue to function only by the grace of God. That is why each day I do my very best to give God everything that I have. God gives His very best to me each day, how can I give Him anything less than my best?

So exactly what is God calling you to do? Many think serving God means selling everything you have and going to live in some far off jungle. While God does burden many people to serve Him in a missionary capacity, most people God calls to serve Him right where they are at in their life. Don’t think for a second that it is an accident or coincidence you go to school where you do or that you work where you do. It is God who opened those doors and has placed you for this season of your life right where He wants you to be.

GOD NEEDS HIS CHILDREN IN EVERY SCHOOL, IN EVERY TYPE OF BUSINESS, IN EVERY OCCUPATION!

Never forget that your greatest witness for the Lord will always be how you live your life before others each day. People do notice. Also, the greatest thing you can share with someone, after how they can be saved, is what Jesus has done in your life. You are a living testimony of the Lord Jesus Christ! God has you at the school you go to, at the job you work at, living where you do, meeting people in the course of your daily activities, for a reason and purpose. Especially today where the better part of two full generations don’t go to church, you are the only Bible they will ever read and the only contact with Christ they will ever have.

NOBODY IS IN YOUR LIFE BY ACCIDENT!

However, there are some of you reading this today that God IS calling to a new level of commitment and service, and you know exactly who you are. God is speaking to you clearly through this message today. He is telling you that now is the time to step out in faith and trust Him. He has given you a special burden to serve Him and wants you to trust Him today. This word is simply His confirmation of what He has already been talking to you about. The fear and doubt you have are coming from satan. Now is the time to step out in faith, trust Him, and do with your life what you know God is calling you to do.

I love you and care about you so much. Our life is made up of different seasons, and in each season God gives us opportunities to serve Him. We do not have the promise of tomorrow, only the reality of today. I pray today that you will not waste this precious gift God has given to you. He has allowed you to wake up for a reason, and the ultimate reason is so that you can serve and glorify Him with your life. Should you be blessed with many years of life, at some point your body will begin to break down. You will experience sickness and poor health. Eventually you will die.

That is why during this season where you have a clear mind and good health, the mental and physical ability to do great things for God, you have to take advantage of them. Don’t allow satan to lull you into the belief that you will always be able to serve the Lord in the future. His lie is that you need to worry about yourself now, and you can serve God later. God has called ALL of His children, no matter what age you are, to serve Him now, not tomorrow. It is God, NOT YOU, that will provide for your day-to-day needs along your journey as He has promised.

In closing, I again want to speak directly to those of you who have been struggling with God’s calling on your life. For most, you are right where He wants you to be for this season. Keep being the salt of the earth, the light to this world in your school and in your workplace. But for some of you, God is calling you to step out in faith and fully and unconditionally surrender your life to Him today. He wants to use you in a special way in serving His Kingdom.

My counsel to you is this. Be honored God wants to use you. We get a few opportunities along our journey to do something great with our life. Not in the way the world judges greatness, but in the way God judges greatness. There is nothing greater you can do with your life than to serve the Lord. Step out in faith and trust the Lord to guide you and meet your every need, as you answer His call to service. God is calling you to make a difference with your life NOW!!!

In His love and service,

Your friend and brother in Christ,

Bill Keller

(Matthew 17:20-21)

***DAILY PERSONAL PRAYER FOR YOU: Dear Lord, please help us to wake up as a nation before it is too late. We have squandered your blessings, taken advantage of your love and grace, and deserve your wrath. Please oh Lord, be merciful for a few more hours and give your undeserving people one last chance to repent of our sins and turn our hearts and lives back to you. In the name of Jesus I pray…AMEN!

***SPECIAL COMMENTARY: In light of the Obama Administration turning its’ back on Israel in the United Nations yesterday, it is no wonder why this nation is under the judgment of God! Please take a moment to read this powerful word on why there is only ONE ANSWER to the Israeli/Palestine issue: http://www.liveprayer.com/ddarchive3.cfm?id=5882 The promise of God to Abraham in Genesis 12:3 IS STILL IN EFFECT TODAY….” I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.”

He replied, “Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you. But this kind does not go out except by PRAYER and FASTING.” (Matthew 17:20-21 NIV)

The Bible tells us in Ephesians chapter 6 that our battles are NOT of flesh and blood, but they are spiritual. Often in life, we face great hurdles, real life hurdles that are really spiritual. The group of 300 people Liveprayer is putting together, is going to allow the Liveprayer television program to expand into every major market in Florida and will be the last step in syndicating the program all over the nation. This program has proven in Tampa that the hope and love of Christ, the truth of God’s Word can compete on secular television and be an incredible tool in reaching the hurting and lost for Christ.

It is satan’s worst nightmare for a program like this to exist in “his domain.” Are there 300 people that can make a one-time sacrifice of $10,000 to make this happen? ABSOLUTELY. Right now, 300 times 300 are reading this message who could do this in a minute. However, this group who will be responsible for helping take this unique “live” program to lost and hurting people throughout the nation on secular television will NOT come together easy, just like the amount we need each month to operate Liveprayer does not just flow in. It is a battle. IT IS A SPIRITUAL BATTLE!

I am asking that you set aside all or part of 72 hours from this Saturday (12/31) through Monday (1/2) and fast and pray for those God has called to be part of this group if 300 to come forward in the coming days and weeks. I will be giving you the first update on how many have responded on Tuesday February 9th. The things of God do not happen without a fight. Prayer and fasting are tools God has given to His children to fight with. They are tools you need to be using in the battles you face in your life. Fasting has been one of the most misunderstood and misused practices in the Bible. The basic premise of fasting is giving up a normal daily activity, as a sacrifice, to spend that time in prayer and seeking the Lord. It is NOT supposed to be a physical endurance contest to see how long you can go without eating. It is an act of sacrifice.

It can be as little as skipping one meal, or not eating for 24 hours, or even three days. Fasting does not always have to be food. You can “fast” by not watching television for a period of time, or giving up any number of others things that you may do during the day. There is no magic formula.

Let me warn you that fasting can be very dangerous to your health! Anytime you fast over 24 hours, you need to be very careful. I would strongly suggest that you contact your doctor to make sure you do it correctly.

The reason you fast is to sacrifice the nourishment to your body, and spend that time nourishing your soul. It is a way to focus solely on the Lord and to seek Him. Often fasting is done at times when there are major needs, and you need to really zero in spiritually on the Lord, seeking Him for answers.

I routinely fast one day a month, but during major events or times of great need, I will fast for 72 hours and try to spend much of that time just in prayer. I keep living my normal life, but use the time I would normally be eating to spend time with God.

Fasting does not make you more spiritual than someone who does not fast. It is not a way to prove how spiritual you are. Again, it is a simple act of sacrifice to spend that time in prayer with the Lord. It allows you to hear God more clearly. It is a time to really get serious about praying over a certain situation or circumstance. It is a sacrifice on your part to get closer to God.

I would suggest that if you never fasted before, start with one meal. Use the 20-40 minutes that you would normally be eating, go to a quiet place and just pray. Talk to God about those things in your life He needs to clean up. Talk to God about problems that only He can fix. One powerful way to use fasting is to fast and spend that time in prayer for someone else. Sacrifice that meal and spend the time praying for the needs of someone else. That is powerful!

I love you, care about you, and will always be here for you in your time of need. Fasting is a great way to make a minor sacrifice in our daily life to get closer to the Lord. One day, all of those who have accepted Jesus will spend eternity with Him. Fasting is a small way that we can take a few moments during this life to enjoy that special intimate closeness with our Lord.

In His love and service,

A Special Resolution for You

***A SPECIAL CHRISTMAS CARD FROM BILL KELLER TO YOU A ND YOUR FAMILY!!!! http://www.liveprayer.com/mc16/

***DAILY PERSONAL PRAYER FOR YOU: Dear Lord, give me a hunger for your Word like never before. It is a lamp unto my feet. Give me a HUNGER FOR YOUR PRECIOUS LIVING WORD! May I make it a priority each day to spend time in the Bible during this new year. Let me know you better and hear your voice clearer.

A great tradition here at Liveprayer is my annual New Year’s resolution message. This the 18th year I have had the honor of sharing this special message, and tens of thousands of people have taken my challenge and read the Bible cover to cover in a year, something less than 10% of people who profess to be Christians have ever done. Have you? If not, I am praying that you will make this YOUR New Year’s resolution for 2017!

Having preached to several hundred thousand people in evangelistic meetings in churches of all denominations throughout the country, having ministered to millions via television and radio through the years, and having prayed for and intimately counseled thousands and thousands of people over my 24+ years of ministry…I would have to say the biggest problem I have encountered with Believers is the vast majority have never read the instruction manual!!!

Statistical research shows that less than 10% of professing Christians have ever read the entire Bible. The church as a whole is Biblically illiterate!

From time to time in my Devotional I will give my opinion on an issue and I am very careful to always let you know when it is Bill Keller’s opinion. Most of the time I just let God’s words speak for themselves. There is not one issue, one thing we deal with in everyday life that is not covered in the Bible.

How many people are in terrible marriages where one spouse is a nonbeliever. Do you think God admonished us to “not be unequally yoked” for nothing? How about those dealing with horrible illnesses because they abused themselves over the years with alcohol, cigarettes, drugs, and food. Does God not tell us our body is the Temple of the Holy Spirit? How many families are ripped apart by bitterness and hatred when the Bible commands us to “have love one for another,” to “forgive as Christ has forgiven you,” and to “love your enemies.” I have to be honest. In many cases it is not as much rebellion towards God as it is complete ignorance of God’s Word.

Like many men, I get a new electronic toy and the first thing I do is open the box, toss the instructions to the side, and start “putting it together.” Usually after a period of time when it is not working or I have broken something, I grab the instructions and put it together correctly. How much easier would it have been if I had done that first. It is the same in our walk with God. Many people claim they can’t hear God. God may be talking to you and you can’t hear Him because you don’t know what to be listening for. The Bible is one way that God speaks to us. If you want to hear God, just read the Book.

I know that those who get this Devotional each day are of above average intelligence which is why I am very direct and to the point. I share things knowing that you are smart enough to understand what God expects you to do, I don’t have to paint a picture. So if you ever listened to me at all, listen to what I am going to say to you now. This applies to everyone, even those that may have read the Bible cover to cover 100 times.

***It takes an individual of average reading ability 90 hours to read the entire Bible. That is one hour a day for 3 months, or one half hour a day for 6 months, or 15 minutes a day for 12 months. Most people make New Year’s resolutions. Here is one for you with eternal rewards and will be more valuable than losing 10 pounds that you will just put back on. Carve out one hour, 30 minutes, or 15 minutes every day starting January 1st and start reading at Genesis 1:1. One hour, 30 minutes, or 15 minutes, you choose. I suggest that for those 90 days, or 6 months, or the next 12 months, you get up that amount of time earlier than normal and do it the very first thing. Trust me, God will give you the strength you need during the day. Losing a little sleep will not kill you. Quite the opposite. It will save you 100 times that in lost sleep over the years from problems caused because you didn’t take time to read the instruction book.

Now listen, I understand that some of the Old Testament can be dry. The Jewish laws, the genealogy of kings, some of the prophetic books can be very confusing and at times boring. Plug on. Don’t get discouraged because you don’t understand everything you are reading. Having read the Bible cover to cover many, many, many times, each time is a new experience for me. You might have accepted this challenge before. This message is still for you! DO IT AGAIN! YOU CAN NEVER GET TOO MUCH OF GOD’S WORD!!!

WARNING: I am not the Bible answer man so don’t start flooding me with questions. I’ll pray for you anytime, but I cannot handle thousands of Bible questions. I do suggest though you keep a notepad of questions and talk them over with your pastor.

Trust me when I tell you, reading the Bible cover to cover will change your life. You will see things you never thought were in the Bible. You will see God’s warnings and promises to help you through tough times. Most of all, you will start to understand how God thinks. How can you please God if you don’t understand how He thinks? He knows you are not a mind reader. That is one reason He gave you the Bible so you could begin to understand what God expects from your life.

I promise you the time you spend reading the Bible cover to cover will be the most important time of your life. I cannot emphasize enough the importance of what I am challenging you to do. Start at the very beginning. That way you can see God from the creation of our world, to the very end. It is better than any book or movie you have ever read or seen.

The Bible is our final authority for all matters concerning this life. In this day of being politically correct, accepting everyone’s beliefs and ideas, we are in the mess we are morally and spiritually because we have gotten away from the black and white truth of God’s Word. We have no one to blame but ourselves. In this day of instant gratification, drive thru food, cell phones, fax machines, email, Federal Express, jet travel, we want what we want now and refuse to wait.

We have become lazy which is why we don’t take the time to read the Bible. I guarantee you that you will spend 90 hours plus in front of the television, the computer, with the newspaper, or doing something else that you enjoy. I am not saying quit living and enjoying your life. What I am saying is that you have the time, it is only a matter of whether this is a big enough priority for you to take the time.

I love you, care about you, and my heart breaks every day as I read the thousands of prayer requests I receive. How much heartache and pain could have been avoided if people would have only read the Book and followed the instructions. You cannot believe how much sense this life makes when you are living under the direction of God’s Word. As I say often, our way does not work, God’s way does!

I will be praying that the Lord really opens your heart and conviction floods you right now as you read these words. I can’t force you to do it, you have to want to do it. I will be praying and trusting the Holy Spirit to move on your heart to take this challenge, even now as you read these words. This will be the best New Year’s resolution you will ever make.

In His love and service,

Your friend and brother in Christ,

Bill Keller

Alcohol and the Christian

***DAILY PERSONAL PRAYER FOR YOU: Dear Lord, give me an abundance of your JOY this Christmas Eve. Let the “joy of the Lord” me mine on thisday, and help me to share that joy with others. In the name of Jesus…AMEN!!!

This time every year is a special anniversary for me personally. Fourteen years ago today, I made the decision to stop drinking alcohol. I am asked daily about how a Christian should deal with alcohol. There is one school of thought that says it is OK to have a drink as long as you don’t get drunk since the Bible does NOT say having a drink is a sin, only being drunk is. The other school of thought is complete abstinence. Ultimately, this is a personal choice each person must make for themselves.

For the first 4 years of my ministry, I chose to follow the path of complete abstinence. During the 10 years I was running from God, I drank, heavy at some times. I know what it is like to be drunk, drink so much you get sick, and have a hang over the next day. I have had all of these experiences. When I went into the ministry I made the decision that drinking was not something I could do if I was serious about serving the Lord.

However, starting in 1996, I decided having a drink once in a while was not that big of a deal, so usually 2-3 times a month I would have a snifter of Cognac after dinner. I never drank in public, only at home. I was never drunk. It was simply a choice I had made several times a month to have a drink.

I will never forget in December of 2002. After dinner as I was relaxing, I went to get a drink and poured the last snifter out of a bottle of Remy Martin VSOP. As I sipped the last few drops I remember thinking to myself, drinking alcohol is something in my life that I would be better off not doing. I spent a few minutes in prayer and simply told God that I really didn’t want to drink any more, and actually asked him to take the desire and taste away. Eight years later, I have not had a drop.

I quit drinking, not because I feared going to Hell, or that I was an embarrassment to God, but because it was simply the best choice for my life. I chose to quit drinking because I felt it was the best for me. For those of you who choose to have a drink, I am certainly not going to condemn you. I will say that as I have matured spiritually, it clearly does seem that abstinence is the best choice. However, that is something you and the Lord need to spend some quiet time chatting about.

Jesus drank wine. Fermented grapes, NOT grape juice. In that culture at that time, there was no Perrier, or even tap water. Wine was used in that day much like we use water today. Jewish scholars have reported that the day in day out wine drank in the days of Jesus had a very small alcoholic content.

I am not here to lay a guilt trip on anyone who has a glass of champagne on New Year’s, or a glass of wine with dinner, or a beer every now and then. I have never been one to condemn people for the decisions they make, just try to point them to scripture and let the Holy Spirit deal with them. As I say so often, you cannot force someone to do something. It takes God moving on a person’s heart to make someone change.

A scripture in the Bible that supports abstinence from alcohol I often use is 1 Corinthians 6:19. In context, this verse is dealing with our bodies in sexual matters, but it is also appropriate for use in the area of drugs, alcohol, and tobacco. Rather than preach to you on the issue of alcohol, let me refer you simply to that one verse and ask you if you feel it is right to pollute the temple of the Holy Spirit with something like alcohol that can be harmful to you and alters your state of mind.

I am going to let you pray on that question and work it out with the Lord. For Christians, alcohol also becomes a stumbling block for those in your life who are not saved. Not only is it harmful to your temple, but it can also be a bad witness to those people in your life who don’t know the Lord. Never forget, your strongest testimony is how you live your life before others.

One of the big problems with alcohol is that it can end up being a bondage for many. Like any bondage, God is able to deliver you whenever you are serious about quitting and ready to let Him help you. I will be in prayer today for you or anyone you know who is in bondage to alcohol. GOD IS STILL IN THE DELIVERANCE BUSINESS!

I love you, and care about you so much. I will be praying for you today as you spend time with the Lord and seriously consider your choice in regard to drinking. With the Holiday season in full swing, New Years in a few days, and the fact most people will be around alcohol, this is the perfect time to come to peace over this issue. God loves you so much, and only wants the best for your life. May the Holy Spirit guide you and lead you in your choice regarding alcohol.

In His love and service,

Your friend and brother in Christ,

Bill Keller

***DAILY PERSONAL PRAYER FOR YOU: Dear Lord, give me an abundance of your JOY this Christmas Eve. Let the “joy of the Lord” me mine on this day, and help me to share that joy with others. In the name of Jesus…AMEN!!!

The greatest gift you can give anyone this Christmas are the words of everlasting life. Forward this to someone that you know who is lost, and pray that God will open their hearts to receive HIS gift to the world… JESUS CHRIST! Today is the day we celebrate the greatest gift ever given. We celebrate today the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, God’s gift to the world. Today is truly a day of rejoicing. Because of this gift from God, we can be forgiven of our sins and reunited with our Creator for eternity.

So much of what I deal with each day in this Devotional is to help you walk through this short journey here on earth victoriously and productively. But we must never forget that our time here is very brief and there is an eternity waiting for us when this journey is complete. I want to focus for just a minute on this most blessed day, to that split second when our life on this earth is finished and we are launched into eternity. Do you this day have the assurance that when your life is complete, your eternity is going to be spent in Heaven?

If the answer to that question is anything but a resounding YES, then let me just share this simple truth with you. You see, our God, our Creator so loved this world, so loved His creation, that He sent His son, His only Son to be part of this world. Jesus had one mission in this life. It wasn’t to be a great teacher, though He was a great teacher. It wasn’t to be a great prophet, though He was a great prophet. It wasn’t to be a great miracle worker, though He did work many great miracles. No my friend, Jesus came to this world with only one job…to die.

You see, the reason it was vital for Jesus to be immaculately conceived by God and born of a virgin was so that He was not infected with the same problem you and I were born into this life with….sin. Otherwise, the best He could have done was die for His own sins. Jesus lived on this earth for some 33 years before it was time to complete His work. That work was finished on a cross on the hill called Calvary where He hung and then died as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of this world.

That is why, whosoever believes in Jesus, shall not perish for eternity, but have everlasting life! Believing in Jesus is the only way to be saved because it was Jesus who died and was sacrificed for our sins. There are no other ways to be saved, no other roads back to God, there are no other plans of salvation. This is God’s one and only plan to reconcile his fallen creation back to Himself. This is the only way you can escape eternity apart from the God who created you in His own image. It is through His grace and by faith in Jesus Christ!

There are many incredible mysteries in the Bible. There are many doctrinal issues that will never be fully understood until we are in Heaven. But God made the most important decision of this life very easy and simple to understand. He gave every one the opportunity to have their sins washed away and be assured of an eternity in Heaven.

That is why we celebrate Christmas today! That is why we put our faith and trust in Jesus Christ. The most important decision you will make in this life is not who you will marry, where you will live, what kind of job you will have. The most important decision you will make in this life is to accept Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior.

If you have not done that yet, the Bible says that today is the day of salvation. I would invite you to go to my website, http://www.liveprayer.com and click on the button that says PLAN OF SALVATION ( direct link: http://www.liveprayer.com/plan.cfm ). Read those words, pray that prayer, and accept today God’s gift to you this Christmas, the gift of His son Jesus.

I love you and care about you deeply. For those of you who already know Christ as your Savior, I would encourage you to forward this email to someone you know who is lost and without hope this Christmas. What better present to give someone than the opportunity to know Jesus as their Savior.

I pray today that you will take time out of the busy day of travel, visiting friends and family, to focus on the gift God has given to us in His son Jesus. He gave His very best gift to us, which is why I will continue to encourage you to give your very best every day to Him.

In His love and service,

Your friend and brother in Christ,

Bill Keller
