MAKE THE TIME AND EFFORT to spend time with those that you love

( Ephesians 5:28, Ephesians 6:2, Ephesians 6:4 )

MAKE THE TIME AND EFFORT to spend time with those that you love. One of the greatest tragedies in this life is the time that we DON’T spend with those we love the most, those that God has given us to share this journey with. ***I WANT TO CHALLENGE YOU TODAY. MAKE THE TIME, MAKE THE EFFORT TO TAKE ONE DAY, AND SPEND IT WITH THOSE THAT YOU LOVE!!! The fact is, you HAVE the time. As the Nike commercial says, JUST DO IT!

It may be a day alone with your wife or husband. It may be a day with your children. It may be time with your father and/or mother. It may be a day with a grandparent, or an aunt, or an uncle. It may be a day with a close friend. THE BOTTOM LINE IS THAT GOD GIVES US PEOPLE TO INTIMATELY SHARE THIS BRIEF JOURNEY OF LIFE. SADLY, THESE ARE OFTEN THE PEOPLE THAT WE TAKE FOR GRANTED THE MOST!!! One thing I can guarantee you. EVERY person one day will die. Only God knows when that day is. When a person dies, they are not coming back, so we must NEVER neglect this brief time that we have together. IT IS A GIFT FROM GOD!!!

Listen, I understand the day to day reality of life. Work, deadlines, responsibilities, commitments. I UNDERSTAND ALL OF THAT. But let me ask you a question. If you get sick today, maybe serious enough that you have to go to the hospital for a day or two, what will happen? When you get out, get better, you catch up and keep moving forward at work, at school, in the various responsibilities and commitments that you have in your life. Several weeks ago, I had a VERY busy day. It was tightly scheduled as most every day is for me. But as I was driving back from a meeting, someone driving carelessly rear-ended my car. Thankfully, nobody was injured, but the entire process took close to 3 hours before I could get back to my office and resume my day. THE POINT IS, WE HAVE THE TIME IF WE WANT TO DO IT!!!!

Here is what I am advising you to do. Take a day, schedule it, but take ONE FULL DAY. FORGET WORK, FORGET SCHOOL, FORGET WHATEVER YOU WOULD NORMALLY DO THAT DAY AND SPEND IT WITH SOMEONE THAT YOU CARE DEEPLY ABOUT. Go take a drive somewhere, do something you both want to do, goof off, LEAVE THE CELL PHONE AND THE PAGER HOME!!!!! Take one day and simply spend it with someone that you love. It won’t destroy your career, it won’t destroy your schooling, it won’t make you irresponsible. This life is very short. We only have a limited number of days to live. God gives us a few people that we love and are close to, to share this journey with. It is critical that we pick our spots and spend time with them. Trust me, one day they will be gone and you will wish they were here!!! So enjoy those people that God gives us to walk through this life with while we can!!!

I love you and care about you so much. I have preached too many funerals, I have been in too many hospital rooms over the last 10 years when people were wishing that they had more time to spend with those they love. WE TAKE TIME FOR GRANTED. WE TAKE THE PEOPLE WE ARE CLOSEST TO IN THIS LIFE FOR GRANTED. This is a chance for YOU to be in control, for YOU to take some of the precious time God has given you, to enjoy those that He has given you to share this life with.

I will be praying for you today. I pray that these words do not fall on deaf ears, or go unheeded. Life always has emergencies that make us change our normal daily schedule. SPENDING ONE DAY WITH SOMEONE THAT YOU LOVE WHO WILL ONE DAY BE GONE IS AN EMERGENCY!!! Don’t take them, or the time God gives you for granted. When they are gone, it will be too late. So do it NOW!!! We can say “I love you” very easy. However it takes time and effort to SHOW someone that you love them. TAKE THE TIME, MAKE THE EFFORT TODAY….THERE MAY NOT BE A TOMORROW!!!

In His love and service,
Your friend and brother in Christ,
Bill Keller

So, is killing an unborn baby murder or not?

(Genesis 2:7, 1 Samuel 2:6, Psalms 104:30, Acts 17:25)

So, is killing an unborn baby murder or not? From time to time, we clearly see the hand of God moving in the course of daily events. Such is the case in the tragic story of the murder of Laci Peterson and her unborn baby. Laci’s husband Scott has been charged with murdering his wife and unborn baby. In our system of criminal justice a person is innocent until proven guilty. However, if the theory of the police is correct, Scott killed his wife, attached cement blocks and fishing weights to her body, wrapped it in a tarp, and then dumped her into the San Francisco Bay.

If that is what happened, Scott was betting on her body never being recovered since it would only take several months at the bottom of the Bay to decompose and for the marine life to destroy it. But a large storm stirred up the Bay a few weeks ago, and in the process, the body of the unborn baby and what was left of Laci’s body washed up on shore. THE HAND OF GOD MOVED AND ALLOWED THESE BODIES TO APPEAR! The bible tells us in Numbers 32:23 that “your sin will find you out”. Jesus said in Luke 12:2 that, “For there is nothing covered that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.”

In an interesting twist to this tragic story, the Pro Death (they prefer the kinder term Pro Choice)
supporters have a real dilemma on their hands. You see, they are going to be forced to defend Scott Peterson during his upcoming trial! The problem the Pro Death camp is faced with is that they MUST defend Scott Peterson since he is being charged with double murder, that of Laci, AND their unborn baby. If Scott Peterson is found guilty for murdering his unborn baby, then so should every doctor that performs an abortion!!!

The fact is, several dozen states now have “fetal homicide” statutes on the books. If a person can be charged with murder for killing an unborn child in an act of violence, then why can’t a doctor who performs an abortion also be charged with murder? What is the difference? There is NONE! But to get these “fetal homicide” statutes passed, state legislators had to make ONE HUGE exemption. You guessed it. In cases of abortion with the mothers consent, these statutes do not apply to the abortion doctors. Do you see what twisted logic has to be used to accommodate sin?

I want to speak directly today to anyone that may be contemplating having an abortion. Just remember this. No matter what anyone tells you, it is MURDER. There is simply no justification for it at all. You only have two options. Have and raise the child, or put the child up for adoption. Also, let me say a word to those men and women who have the scar of abortion in their lives. Sadly, I deal daily with hundreds of women AND men that have made this sad choice at some point in their life. Some of them did this 40 years ago and are still dealing with the hurt, and pain, and guilt. You can’t go back and change what you have done, but 1 John 1:9 says that if we confess our sins, God forgives us and cleanses us of all unrighteousness. The Bible also tells us that God not only forgives our sins, but forgets them. It is satan who reminds you of your past sins to keep you paralyzed from serving God. HE IS A LIAR!!! Now is the time to trust God’s Word, and put it behind you once and for all. God still has much for you to do with your life.

I love you and care about you so much. God speaks to us each day in many ways. One of the ways that He speaks to us is through circumstances in our life and world. IT IS NO ACCIDENT THAT THOSE BODIES WERE COUGHED UP FROM THEIR WATERY GRAVES! God allowed that to happen. One reason was so that the person who committed this horrible crime would have to face the consequences of their actions. The other reason was to use this high profile event to force our nation to accept the fact that life is from God, and the killing of an innocent baby is MURDER! We need to once and for all take our Federal Government out of the business of legally sanctioning the annual slaughter of millions of innocent lives! How can we expect God to bless our nation when we allow this to happen?

I pray today for our nation. How long can we mock God without feeling His wrath? How far can we push God’s grace? I read in the Old Testament how God’s very own chosen people lived in blatant rebellion to Him. God tried to warn them. He sent messages through the events of their day. They ignored the messages. He sent His prophets to warn the people to repent and turn back to God. They wouldn’t listen to his messengers. Eventually, God punished His people for their rebellion.

Our nation is less than 300 years old. We have been richly blessed with incredible wealth and power, but we are not immune from God’s wrath. God is speaking to us through the events of our day and
through those He has called to warn the people. I pray that we will listen, repent of our sins, and turn our hearts back to Him before it is too late. Killing an unborn baby IS murder, whether it happens in an act of violence on the street or in a legal clinic!

Shopping can be an addiction

(Galatians 5:1)

Shopping can be an addiction. I have dealt many times with addiction problems. Most think of those fighting addictions as people who are prowling around seedy adult sex shops late at night, meeting scary people who have sold out to satan and sell drugs, slipping into a neighborhood bar after work and having your “normal” 4-5 drinks before going home, just to mention a few. In past Devotionals, I have tried to help
you understand that ANYTHING can be an addiction. One of the most common battles many fight daily is an addiction to food. But today, I want to expose another addiction that MANY of you are battling each day that is RARELY talked about, SHOPPING.

First, an addiction is something that consumes your life. It takes over and becomes your number one priority. It destroys your personal relationships. Worst of all, it destroys your relationship with God. Whenever you allow ANYTHING to take over your life to the point that it is interfering with your walk with God, when God is no longer your number one priority, IT IS A SIN. It is something that you must deal with immediately before it totally
destroys your life.

Shopping is legal. It is not like doing cocaine which is not. Shopping is actually a necessary part of life, just like eating is. However, many have found their “escape” in shopping. Just like some will come home and have 2..3..4..5..6..drinks in the evening to “escape”, many will shop to escape. One of the growing problems that I have had to deal with over these past 3 years is the number of people who are addicted to Home Shopping and other 24-hour TV shopping channels. I am NOT going to sit here and tell you that they are evil, that they equate with TV pornography, that is clearly NOT the case. However, for many, the addiction is just as real, and just as powerful, as
someone who sits at home and watches pornography on their TV. It is an “escape” from reality.

The worst thing about ‘escapes” is that they ALWAYS compound the problems that a person is “escaping” from. People spend thousands on pornography, catch sexually transmitted diseases, get caught and destroy their marriages and families. People who use drugs and alcohol not only pay a huge price by driving under the influence, but they are destroying their health, and numbing
themselves from being able to function at 100% efficiency in their daily lives.
Those who are addicted to shopping ultimately end up spending thousands, tens of thousand, even hundreds of thousands of dollars, and in many cases destroy their finances over this addiction. THERE IS ALWAYS A HUGE PRICE TO PAY WHEN YOU TRY TO “ESCAPE”!!!

I love you and care about you so much. Sadly, this is a HUGE issued that many are fighting today. Please know that I will be praying for you in this battle. Like ALL addiction battles, you can only attain victory after you first turn it over to the Lord. God will help you devise a battle plan, God will give you people that will walk through this with you to hold you accountable, and most of all, God will give you the strength each day to walk victoriously. This has been one of those silent issues that few will ever talk about, but it is time to pull back the curtain and expose this problem that many are fighting today. Above all, know that God loves you, and that God will lead you to victory when YOU are ready to fight this battle.

The key however is that first step. I don’t care what your battle is. Whether it is with drugs, alcohol, sex, food, OR SHOPPING. The first step is for you to admit that you have a problem. Being addicted to shopping is no different than any other addiction. You have to admit that this is a problem in your life and ask God to help you get victory over it. Please know that I will be praying for you today. I will be praying that God will not only give you the courage to admit this problem in your life, but that you will allow Him to guide you to victory. Never forget, with God..ALL THINGS…are possible. Even victory over an addiction to shopping.

HE IS RISEN!!!!!!!!

(Matthew 28:5-7)

HE IS RISEN!!!!!!!! Today, marks the greatest historical event in human history…the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The reason the resurrection of Jesus is the greatest historical event is because it is the absolute key to our faith. Paul said in his first letter to the church at Corinth in the 15th chapter, that if Christ did not rise from the dead, then we are still dead
in our sin and most vain of all. However, if He did rise from the dead, then we have the assurance our sins are forgiven and the assurance of everlasting life. You see, Jesus is either the biggest fraud in the history of mankind, or He is exactly who He claims to be…the Son of God. The resurrection is the key event.

The historical evidence of Christ’s resurrection is irrefutable. The fact that
he died on a Roman cross, the claims of followers seeing the risen Lord, evidence of the empty tomb, the inability of the Jewish leaders to disprove the resurrection claims in the very city Jesus died and was buried, and the radical transformation in the lives of His disciples are all well documented. His disciples went from being normal men concerned only about there own welfare from the night Jesus was arrested, to bold preachers who were willing to die for their faith. You also have Jesus’ own predictions of His resurrection as well as the fact that soon after was the birth of the Christian church that started meeting on Sunday. That is significant since these were monotheistic Jews who were used to worshipping on Saturday.

My friend, the Christian faith has never meant to be a blind leap in the dark. God never asked His children to just believe without any evidence of what we believe in. He has given us plenty of tangible historical evidence to help us know without a doubt that what is in His inspired, inerrant Word is ABSOLUTE TRUTH. Absolute truth that you can stake your very life on. Of course, once we get to the point we accept the resurrection as fact, and we
accept His Word as TRUTH, it then demands that we totally and unconditionally
surrender our very life to Him.

That becomes the logical conclusion of this spiritual journey. Because you see, it is not our life any longer, it belongs to Him. Our purpose is to simply
serve and glorify Him. I pray that on this day in which we celebrate the resurrection
of our Lord and Savior, you will recommit your life to Him. We can all do better.
None of us have given it ALL to Him…we can give Him more. Make this day the
day that you realize that Jesus rose from the dead, to insure that you will live for
eternity with Him if you have accepted Him into your life.

I love you and care about you so very much. I pray you have a wonderful Resurrection Day. For those traveling to be with your family, you will be in my
prayers for a safe journey. May you be richly blessed as we stand together to proclaim
to this hurting and dying world that Jesus Christ is the Lord of Lords, and the King of
Kings….HE IS RISEN!!!!!!!

Living with confidence

(Psalms 3)

Living with confidence. Having been a sports fanatic my whole life, I often wonder what separates those who win and those who lose. Talent of course has much to do with the outcome, but when the talent is even, it often boils down to confidence. At the professional level, there is very little difference between players physically. They are a rare breed, a small percentage of the population with the God-given physical and athletic ability to compete at the highest level. Having lived for many years in Chicago, I saw first hand the Bulls basketball dynasty of the early 90’s. Of course they had basketball’s greatest player ever in Michael Jordan, but that team also had an intangible called confidence. Every time they stepped onto the court, they had that air of confidence that no matter what happened during the game, they would find a way to win. I use this analogy today because it is the exact same kind of confidence that those who know Christ as their Savior should have in their every day life.

When you know Christ as your Savior, you have determined the most important thing that you can in this life…where you will spend eternity. That alone should give you great confidence to live this life in victory, because we know our time here is only for a few short years, but that we will spend eternity with our Lord. In addition, we should have confidence each day from all of the Lord’s promises to us. He promised to never to leave us nor forsake us. He promised to protect us. He promised to provide for us. He promised to fight for us. He has told us to cast our burdens on Him. He said that when we were weak, He is strong. He said that we can do all things because He strengthens us. Those are just a few. Armed with the knowledge of our eternal home, with all of the Lord’s precious promises, why shouldn’t we live each day with tremendous confidence?

I am praying that you will take a fresh look at your life today. In the business world, people are paid millions to teach people to have a positive mental attitude. There is no reason that a Christian should have anything but a positive mental attitude. We need to start dealing with our life, including the tragedies that we all have to face during this journey, with a positive mental attitude…not because of who we are, but because of who Jesus is! I realize that many of you are going thru incredible trials right now. Many of you are facing circumstances that are almost unbearable. All I can do today is encourage you to stay positive because Jesus is on your side. Start dealing with every aspect of your life in confidence. Confidence because the Lord is with you, will give you what you need each day, and will walk with you every step of the way. If you lack confidence, it is because you are trying to do it in your strength and wisdom. Start living in HIS strength and wisdom and you will have a totally different outlook!!!

I love you and care about you deeply. I pray that you will start living with more confidence because of who you are in Christ Jesus. One of your best witnessing tools is how you live your life, how you deal with your problems. A non-believer is going to wonder how you can be so confident in dealing with
day-to-day life, and that will give you opportunities to share with them that it is only possible when we have the Lord in our life. I pray that Jesus will open your mind and heart to receive these words today, and that you will start living with the confidence that will enable you to overcome your life’s problems and be a fruit-producing servant for the Lord. He loves you and has given you all that you need to be victorious in the greatest game of all…the game of life.

For God so loved the word, HE GAVE

(John 3:16)

For God so loved the word, HE GAVE. Today is the day that we celebrate one of the greatest days in human history. We celebrate today the death of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, God’s gift to the world. Today is truly a day of rejoicing. Because of this gift from God, we can be forgiven of our sins, and reunited with our Creator for eternity. So much of what I deal with each day in this Devotional is to help you walk through this short journey here on earth victoriously and productively. But we must never forget that our time here is very short, and there is an eternity waiting for us when this journey is completed. I want to focus for just a minute on this most special day, to that split second when our life on this earth is finished and we are launched into eternity. Do you have the assurance this very moment that when your life is complete, your eternity is going to be spent in Heaven?

If the answer to that question is anything but a resounding YES, then let me just share this simple truth with you. You see, our God, our Creator so loved this world, so loved His creation, that He sent His Son, His only Son to be part of this world. Jesus had one mission in this life. It wasn’t to be a great teacher, though He was a great teacher. It wasn’t to be a great prophet, though He was a great prophet. It wasn’t to be a great miracle worker, though He did work many great miracles. No my friend, Jesus came to this world to perform only one job…to die.

You see, the reason it was vital for Jesus to be born of a virgin was so that He was not infested with the same problem you and I are born into this life with, sin. Otherwise, the best He could have done was to die for His own sins. Jesus lived on this earth for some 33 years before it was time to complete His work. That work was finished on a cross on the hill called Calvary where He hung, and then died as the
perfect sacrifice for the sins of this world. That is why, whosoever believes in Jesus, shall not perish, but have everlasting life! Believing in Jesus is the only way to be saved because it was Jesus who died for our sins. There are no other ways to be saved, no other roads to God, there are no other plans of salvation!!! This is God’s one and only plan to reconcile his fallen creation back to Himself. This is the only way that you can escape eternity apart from the God who created you in His own image. It is through His grace and by your faith in Jesus Christ!

There are many incredible mysteries in the Bible. There are many doctrinal issues that will never be fully understood until we are in Heaven. But God made the most important decision of this life very easy and simple to understand. He gave every one the same opportunity to have their sins washed away and be assured of an eternity in Heaven. That is why we celebrate Good Friday today. That is why we put our faith and trust in Jesus Christ. The most important decision you will make in this life is not who you will marry, or where you will live, or what kind of job you will have. The most important decision you will make in this life is to accept Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior. If you have not done that yet, the Bible says that TODAY is the day of salvation. I would invite you to go to, . Pray to ask God to open your heart, read the words, pray the prayer, and accept today God’s gift to you this Easter season, the gift of everlasting life through His son Jesus.

I love you and care about you deeply. For those of you who already know Christ as your Savior, I would encourage you to forward this email to someone that you know who is lost and without hope this Easter. What better present to give someone than the opportunity to know Jesus as their Savior. I pray
today you will take time out of the busy day of travel, visiting friends and family, to focus on the gift that God has given to us in His son Jesus. He gave His very best gift to us, which is why I will continue to encourage you to give your very best every day to Him.

In Christ’s everlasting love and service,
Your friend and brother in Christ,
Bill Keller

Denying Christ

(John 18:15-27)

Denying Christ. One of the things that will always be associated with Peter is his denial of Christ after He was arrested. Peter becomes an easy target, and we often wonder how he could have been so close to the Lord, yet deny Him. In defense of Peter, let me first say that I have never been, nor have 99% of you reading this, been in a position where we could literally be killed for acknowledging our relationship with Jesus Christ. Peter was in fear for his life. I am not questioning your faith or love for the Lord, it is just something that none of us can say for sure unless we have actually been in that situation. That gets me to the point of today’s Devotional. Peter denied Christ under fear for his life. Do you realize that every time you sin, rebel against God’s plan and purpose for your life, you are also denying Christ?

I want you to focus today on the fact that God loves you so much, He sent His only son to this earth to die for your sins. When we accept Christ into our hearts and lives, we do it by God’s grace and our faith in who Jesus Christ is, and what He did for us on the cross. We give our lives to Him and pledge to live for Him, to follow Him. Actually, that is what Peter did when the Lord called him from his job as a fisherman. He left his family and friends to follow Jesus. So every time that we sin, we are literally denying the very One that we committed our lives to.

Let me speak very plain. When we go out drinking and partying with the world, we are denying Christ. When we go out to adult establishments, cruise the Internet for pornography, watch XXX movies we are denying Christ. When we put our faith and trust in alcohol, drugs, food, shopping, or any other thing, we are denying Christ. When we are involved in sexual relationships outside of marriage we are denying Christ. When we cheat on our income taxes we are denying Christ. When we lie or gossip, we are denying Christ. My friend, anytime you are doing things that you know are in rebellion to God’s Word…you are denying Him just like Peter did!!!

While Peter is our example today of denying Christ, he is also our hope. We read in the 21st Chapter of John, verses 15-17 how the Lord restores Peter. There is no doubt that Peter repented, asked for
forgiveness, and we see the Lord forgiving him. In the Book of Acts, we read about the incredible way the Lord used Peter in the early days of the church. The lesson here is that even if you have denied Christ, you are not finished. If you repent, God will forgive you, restore you to fellowship, and use you for His glory.

I love you and care about you so much. At this special time of the year, I pray that if you have been denying the Lord, that you will repent and ask Him to forgive you. He loves you and will forgive you just like He did Peter. He has promised to forgive you and cleanse you of all unrighteousness in 1 John 1:9. He has a perfect plan and purpose for you. I pray today that if you have denied the Lord, that you will follow the example of Peter and allow Jesus to restore you to His fellowship. GOD STILL HAS MUCH FOR YOU TO DO IN YOUR LIFE! DON’T DENY HIM…LIVE FOR HIM!!!

In His love and service,
Your friend and brother in Christ,
Bill Keller
