Testimonies

(Acts 4:20; Revelation 12:11)

By far the Devotional everyone looks forward to is the 4 times a year I share some of the incredible praise reports we receive every single day here at Liveprayer. One of the things that I wish I could do, is let you read all of these great praise reports. Even though we deal with email names and unseen people, I never forget for a moment that there is a very REAL person in need at the other end that God loves very much. It is amazing each day to see God healing people, restoring marriages, providing necessary finances, and meeting every kind of need imaginable.

We currently have an archive of over 5,000,000 Praise Reports that we have received in over 142 months of ministry here on the Internet. Satan hates the “word of testimony” because it gives people hope. No matter what you are facing in your life today, never forget that the same God who has brought someone else out of the valley and led them to victory, is the very same God that will lead YOU out of the valley and to victory. Please enjoy this special Devotional of PRAISE REPORTS.

“Umm…Hi…I wanna know about becoming a Christian.I get nervous talking to people but I really want to be a Christian. I have read that Jesus will come back but he doesn’t even know when and I would like to become one…before it’s too late and because I want to. Can you help
me????……………..Under the prayer it said to e~mail you so you could share some information about my new life with Christ. Thank you so much for helping me. I feel so much better now! This really feels like it’s the best decision I have ever made.Thank you for making it happen.”

“My trip was safe. The interview was great. I just received a phone call with a job offer. Thank you for your prayers and I thank the Lord for his grace and blessings. I am so thankful for this opportunity.”

“I know you are very busy, and you have a large staff that helps with your emails. I do not pretend to know whether you, or a staff member, answered my emails a year ago. I called you out on your emails about Mormonism. At the time, I had just recently become a member. However, over time, I realized everything you were saying was true. Jesus, the God of the Bible, made things real simple for us. He laid down his life shortly after laying down the very simple, although not always easily followed, plan for salvation. The Mormons seem to have just added a whole bunch of things, changing what they needed to suit there own needs as times required of them. That is not Christian by any means. My family and I left that church two months after joining. Your daily devotionals helped by giving us strength in what is right. Thank you for your love and dedication. We have since been forgiven, joined a great learning church in Des Moines, IA. It is one based solely on the Bible. Life has definitely been a lot better, and in fact, a lot less complicated. Thanks again.”

“Bro. Keller, I just thought I’d let you know that I’ve been sober 3 weeks now & have found an A. A. group filled w/ Christians for support..Boy do I view life differently now. I 1st made my situation known to you about 3 months ago, & now that I’ve hit bottom, the only way is UP!!!”

“Thank you, Bill. I needed a kind word from someone on this earth.”

“I regularly read the on-line newspaper published in Papua-New Guinea. The newspaper, the Post-Courier, in the Thursday 3 June issue has a “magazine section” called NewAgeWoman. Your daily devotion “Trading in Your Spouse For a Newer Model” is printed in full. Adultery is a major problem in PNG, as it is elsewhere. However, this newspaper has no problem printing “religious” articles or covering church news, a rarely seen coverage in all too many places in the world. You are reaching places I never expected ……………. PRAISE THE LORD!”

“Thank you for praying for me to have enough money to go on a month long mission trip…the exact amount that I needed was donated to me and $200.00 just showed up in my banking account from God knows where……I can now go and if the opportunity arises, bring someone with me…”

“I am writing to thank you for your prayers…our house is sold!!!! We signed a contract today. My husband Jerry and I want you to know how grateful we are for your prayer of agreement with us. God bless you!”

“I’ve been a subscriber of yours from almost the beginning and like the old backslider I am I failed to read every devotional and with the fire storm of e-mail that seemed to be coming my way I often cleared your precious message without reading them. HOWEVER, I started reading them from time to time and when I read one that seemed to apply to me and to my son and an old friend of mine I forwarded it to them. Anyway this old friend of mine who I see once or twice a year told me he has become a believer and I believe it is totally because of your work. My son too has expressed the importance of your daily devotional in his life. Keep up your strong unwavering stand for what God must demand of us.”

“I want you to know that little Lauren is dramatically improved and home from the hospital. Thank you for your prayers. To God be the glory, great things He has done!”

“On May 28, 2004 I was saved while you prayed on your T.V. show. I ask Jesus to forgive me my sins, and to come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior. Thank you so much for that opportunity. I feel so much like a different person now.”

“Thanks to you, there are folks who feel better about their purpose in life. My father-in-law is in a nursing home and was feeling pretty unnecessary, even though he is a follower of Jesus, because he gets wrapped up in his misery. I read some of your daily devotionals to him and he seems to feel more positive…He was smiling when I left him, yesterday and even told one of his caretakers that he loved them (which was a change). Thanks so much.”

“Thank you so much for helping get through school and keeping me safe. my prayers have been answered.amen.”

“I just wanted to thank you for praying for a relative of mine, who was in a coma after being poisoned, she was in a come for 3 weeks, but just recently got out of it! It was truly a miracle. Also, as soon as she got out of a coma, the first thing she said was that she wanted to go to church and wanted to become a Sunday school teacher. She barely went to church before and really involved herself with many guys so I truly believe God spoke to her during the time she was in a coma. It’s amazing, how God works. Thank you for your prayers!”

“I took your advise and went to church not sure what else would happen I am in deep and Jesus threw me a rope I have a hold of it and my eyes are on him though I know the sharks are circling please pray that I may keep my eyes on him. I asked him what he would do to help I believe in his faithfulness.”

“I said the sinners prayer on the Liveprayer website. I just wanted to let you know I’m 13 years old and I want Jesus to come into my heart Bill.”

“I asked for prayers last week for my friend to find her missing daughter in Florida. Her daughter called her on Mothers Day. Thank you. She hadn’t heard from her since Nov.!”

“I just wanted to write a note to you to let you know that my co-workers and I really appreciate your daily devotionals. Most of the people here eagerly anticipate my presence at work in the morning to forward these devotionals to them. It has helped and encouraged many people within this company. Thank you for your labor.”

“Hello. I prayed the prayer on your website. please send me the free information.”

“Bill…just wanted you to know prayers were answered AGAIN by our faithful Father. The body of Christ has so much power in their prayers, it’s a shame we sometimes forget it and lose hope. Thanks for the prayers.”

I love you and care about you so much. NOW YOU KNOW WHY I AM SO PASSIONATE ABOUT WHAT I DO EACH DAY, AND WHY I AM WORKING SO HARD TO EXPAND THE OUTREACH OF LIVEPRAYER. GOD HAS RAISED UP THIS GREAT INSTRUMENT IN THESE LAST DAYS TO TRANSFORM LIVES. IT IS YOUR LOVE, YOUR PRAYERS, AND YOUR SACRIFICIAL GIFTS THAT MAKES ALL OF THIS POSSIBLE!

FOR THE MILLIONS WE ARE ABLE TO SHARE THE HOPE AND LOVE OF CHRIST WITH EACH DAY, THANK YOU!!!

In His love and service,
Your friend and brother in Christ,

Bill Keller

Our Nation’s Only Hope

(Jonah 1:2)

OUR NATION’S ONLY HOPE! I completed a new infomercial that we will be airing around the nation to begin to bring together in one unified body, all those who profess Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior despite their church or denominational affiliation. As I share often, when you take your last breath, there will only be two lines in Heaven, one for the lost and the other for the saved. If we are to turn this nation back to God and Biblcial Truth, the only hope is to bring together all those who claim Christ as Lord into one unified body and bring His Truth, hope, and salvation to this lost and dying land!

Back in 2008, God gave me the plan to make this happen. It is the Jonah Project. In late 2009, God gave me the plan to finance this effort. It is Gold for Souls. 2,900 years ago, God called a man named Jonah to go to the city of Nineveh and warn the people of that great city of God’s coming judgment if they didn’t repent, turn from their sin and back to God. We know that Jonah ran from that call and God had to get his attention by sending a great fish after him. After that experience, Jonah decided it was better to obey God and went to Nineveh, delivered the message God called him to deliver to the people, and Nineveh repented, turned back to God, and was spared His judgment. As wicked as this nation is, I have hope that we can repent and turn back to God just like the people of Nineveh did!!!

Here is the reality of where we are at today. We have forsaken God for the false gods and idols of the world. A man who is an enemy of God is our President, allowed to rise to that powerful office as part of God’s judgment on this wicked nation. The economy is not going to get better anytime soon, it is going to get worse. The heart of our society, marriage and the family, has been decimated. We are in all out rebellion to God and evil operates virtually unopposed throughout this nation and world. Our nation and this world is overdue the wrath and judgment of God for our gross wickedness. Now is the hour for the message of Jonah to be delivered to this nation before it is too late. Our time is up and we are currently operating on God’s grace and mercy at this point

The goal of the Jonah Project is to bring the Gospel to every soul on the face of the earth and give each person the opportunity to accept Jesus Christ as their Savior. In addition, we will call this nation to repentance and to turn back to God and the Truth of His Word or face His wrath and judgment. We will make that call of repentance to the other nations of the world as well, warning them of God’s impending judgment if they refuse.

The key to the Jonah Project will be a major daily presence on secular television and radio. Launching this will only take $12 million dollars, which sounds like an incredible amount of money, but in the scheme of our economic system is really very little. The need for the TV and radio presence is this. There is NO PERSON with a daily presence on secular TV and radio who is reaching the non-Christian masses, dealing with the issues of the day and in people’s lives from a Biblical worldview and sharing the fact Jesus is the only hope for this life and for all eternity. This national TV and radio program will not only be used to call this nation to repentance and to turn back to God, but will be the only true voice in the market place for God’s Truth. Like Liveprayer on the Internet, it will become a place for the remnant to gather and be mobilized to take action in these last days.

To fund this great effort, God has given me the vision to allow people who can’t donate cash, to sacrifice their old gold, diamonds, and jewelry. One afternoon God began to speak to me. I went to the Bible and was reading that when Moses built the Tabernacle, David the Temple, the people brought what they could donate. In many cases it was gold and other precious gems. Often, the people took their tithe to the temple in the form of gold. Gold is the most mentioned precious metal in the Bible. I realize that many people who want to simply don’t have the cash to donate to God’s work here at Liveprayer. However, most everyone has some old gold, broken jewelry, other valuables that they can give.

Last year, a company called Cash4Gold took in well over $100 million dollars by getting people to send them their old gold and jewelry. In return, they were given a check for what amounts to about 10 cents on the dollar of the worth of what people send in. In these desperate financial times, they have had no problem finding people willing to send them their old, broken, unused gold, even though they knew they are only getting a fraction of what it is worth. Business at pawn shops around the nation is booming. Again, people are parting with their valuables, even though they are getting a fraction of their worth.

Gold for Souls works much like the other sites except instead of getting a check back for a fraction of the value of the items you send in, we send you a donation receipt for the full value of your items. For example, if you send one of these many sites $100 worth of materials, you will get back a check for around $10. By donating your valuables to Gold for Souls, we will send you a donation receipt that you can write off your taxes for the full $100. The big question is why donate your valuables when you can get at least some cash for them. SOULS!!!

The little amount you get back from one of these other companies will be gone in a short period of time, and in the scheme of things, is not going to dramatically change your economic situation. However, what you donate to Gold for Souls will not only get you a tax deductible donation receipt for what you send in, but it will pay you eternal dividends since the funds will be used to fund the Jonah Project to lead eternal souls to faith in Jesus Christ. I can’t think of a better use of that old gold and jewelry than to help bring the hope of Christ to the hurting, and re-route souls on a conveyor belt to hell to heaven!!! Also, as our secular media presence grows, so will our influence and ability to take a bold a visible stand for Christ and Biblcial Truth in the secular media. What an incredible return for your sacrifce!!!!

It will only take 60,000 people donating $200 worth of gold and jewelry for us to fully fund the Jonah Project, take our place in the national media, and start building our influence to bring the fractioned Christian community into one strong voice in the secular marketplace. There is no such thing today. It is our division that has kept us from having the influence and impact on the spritual course of this nation. Sadly, all Christian leaders today are only worrying about promoting and enriching their minsitry. There is NOBODY who has a plan to create a presence in the secular media, bring together ALL Christians regardless of denomination, with the sole purpose of saving souls and leading this nation back to God and Biblcial Truth, NOT ONE!

Everyone reading these words has something in your jewelry box that you can donate. Just as important, you have family, friends, people you work with, go to church with, who have something in their jewelry box they can donate. I am asking you to do four things for me today. 1) Go to:
http://www.liveprayer.com/jonah/ . Watch the vision video to fully understand the vision of the Jonah Project and get signed up. 2) Go to: http://liveprayer.com/gfs.cfm . The website is very user friendly and it will take you through the simple steps of how you can donate your old gold, jewelry, and precious items to Liveprayer. 3) I need you to forward this email to every person you know. Please encourage them to donate some of their old gold and jewelry and than forward this message to all of the people they know.

We can get the 60,000 people we need if everyone will give what they can and make it a priority to get all of the people they know involved, and in turn, encourage them to get all of the people they know involved. 4) PRAY! With God, ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE!

I love you and care about you so much. Now more than ever I need your prayers and support. The spiritual direction of this nation can be changed if the people of God will come together as one for that specific purpose. Ministries raise tens of millions that goes to pay Christian networks for airtime in order for them to fly around in private planes and live like the rulers of small nations. Churches raise millions for buildings to preach to hundreds who are already Christians. We have abandoned the culture and left the eternal souls of men to the wolves of the world!!! In the process, our nation is in spiritual freefall and on the verge of God’s judgment and wrath!!!

Our only hope is not going to be found in a political ideology, but by turning back to the God of the Bible and HIS Truth. May Almighty God find each one of us faithful for doing our part to make that happen! He has given us the plan in the Jonah Project. He has given us the way to fund it through the gold and jewelry Christians have accumulated over the years that lays in a box. It is time for action!!!

What God Says about Gay Marriage

(Genesis 18:16-19:28)

“Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” Galatians 6:7

In light of the state of New York legalizing gay marriage, the sixth state to do so, and the plethora of “gay pride parades” held this past Sunday in major cities across the nation and in other countries, let me assure you that God will not be mocked and will have the last word. Let me say that one more time for you, GOD WILL NOT BE MOCKED AND THE ALMIGHTY WILL HAVE THE LAST WORD!!! As I stated many years ago, the United States is a modern day Sodom and Gomorrah!!!

As I watched the vote in the New York legislature to legalize gay marriage, as I watched the celebrations by those who choose to engage in this type of unhealthy, unnatural, and perverted sexual acts, the Holy Spirit spoke to me clearly and said, “I WILL NOT BE MOCKED…I WILL HAVE THE LAST WORD JUST LIKE I DID AT SODOM AND AT GOMORRAH!!! May those with ears hear what the Lord is saying!

The purpose of this Devotional today is to warn those who are not aware to what extent the pro-homosexual agenda is being fulfilled and to hopefully wake up the bloated, weak, and apathetic church that has to bear much of the responsibility for the moral decay of our culture. The goal of those who have chosen the homosexual lifestyle is to justify their sinful choice that is inherently destructive both to society and themselves. They are trying to force society to validate legally and ethically their choice of sexual behavior and relationships, and to enact laws that allow them to promote this sinful choice to our children as normal, even desirable behavior.

It is sad to watch openly gay national cable news network anchors at MSNBC and CNN, along with the rest of the news media, openly rooting for the radical homosexual agenda. Even FOX News won’t take a real stand on this issue since that would be bad for their business. Sadly, there is not one so-called “Christian” in the news media with the guts to take a stand against the homosexual lobby in this nation. How long do you think a Christian newscaster or anchor would last if they took a stand for Biblical Truth on this or any other issue of the day?

I don’t condemn the homosexual community for where our culture is in regard to this sin, I condemn the church! It was the church and a generation of gutless pastors who sat back in silence, or worse yet, actually worked to insure this sin would infest every part of our society. We have nobody to blame but ourselves!!! This whole issue really boils down to, who wants it bad enough. Who is more motivated and willing to go the extra mile to present their beliefs to the masses and influence our culture.

Let me say right up front, sin is sin in God’s eyes. No sin is greater than another. The sin of homosexuality is no more, or no less a sin than murder, adultery, stealing, lying, gossiping, or gluttony. THE REASON THIS SIN IS BEING SINGLED OUT AND ADDRESSED IS BECAUSE THOSE WHO COMMIT IT ARE PROUD OF THEIR SIN AND PROMOTE IT AS AN ACCEPTABLE LIFESTYLE! People who commit adultery do NOT have parades to celebrate their sin. People who commit murder do NOT have political action committees to make murder legal. People who steal do not have high school clubs and try to teach children that stealing is acceptable behavior. Homosexuality is a SIN in the eyes of God and is something to be ashamed of, NOT proud of.

Theologically, this is not even a debatable issue. All through the Bible, from the Old Testament through the New, homosexuality is defined by God as a sin. PERIOD. God calls it an ABOMINATION! I have heard the tortured theological arguments homosexuals have made, but there is absolutely NO WAY to change the fact this act is a sin. Just because there is now a homosexual version of the Bible where they have literally changed the passages that call this act a sin, that DOES NOT change God’s inspired, inerrant Word. Just because there is a fast growing homosexual-friendly denomination-the Metropolitan Community of Churches- that does NOT change the fact God calls this act a sin. I can guarantee you if I started a church that taught adultery was acceptable and wonderful behavior, I could fill stadiums on Sunday morning!

THERE IS NOTHING THAT CAN CHANGE THE FACT GOD CALLS HOMOSEXUALITY A SIN!!! The two greatest lies the pro-homosexual community has put out are: 1) homosexuality is something that you are “born with”; 2) 10% or more in our society are homosexual. First, modern science has CLEARLY rejected and been unable to prove that ANYONE is “born gay.” You are born with black skin or white skin, your are born with blue eyes or green eyes. Taking your pants of to have sex is a CHOICE!!!

IT IS A CHOICE! PEOPLE CHOOSE TO ENGAGE IN HOMOSEXUAL BEHAVIOR! LIKE ALL SIN, ONCE YOU DO IT LONG ENOUGH, IT MAY SEEM “NATURAL,” BUT IT IS STILL A CHOICE THAT YOU MAKE. Also, all legitimate studies done by the non-homosexual community clearly show that less then 1% of the population EVER engage in this type of sexual sin.

Of course, anyone who dares to speak up on this issue is labeled as “intolerant” and a “homophobe.” They also use the word “homophobe” to intimidate people from speaking out against their sexual choice. Since I started Liveprayer 5 1/2 years ago, I receive an average of 5-6 death threats a month. By far, the largest number of those threats over the years have been after running a Devotional on this issue. Every time I deal with this issue on my television program, I immediately receive the most hateful, nasty, vile emails that you can imagine.

But I can promise you one thing, I WILL NOT BE SILENT! I CANNOT BE SILENT ON THIS ISSUE BECAUSE IT IS NOT ONLY A BONDAGE MANY MEN AND WOMEN NEED TO BE SET FREE FROM, BUT IT IS HELPING TO DESTROY THE FAMILY!

I love you and care about you so much. THE GREATEST PROBLEM IN OUR NATION TODAY IS THE DESTRUCTION OF MARRIAGE AND THE FAMILY. God’s definition of marriage is one man and one woman for one lifetime. We have literally watched marriage become perverted and destroyed over the past 40 years. The destruction of the marriage will be the ultimate destruction of our society. THAT is why this issue is so critical, because it destroys God’s holy institution of marriage!

The church better wake up and realize that while they have been building great buildings and getting fat, satan has been busy using the sin of homosexuality to destroy marriage. As much of an abomination as gay marriage is, equally as abominable to God are “churches” that accept homosexuality as a normal lifestyle! Parents, you better wake up and be aware that your daughters are being taught at school that it is “cool” to have sex with other girls, it is called “lesbian chic.” You also better be aware that your sons are being taught having a boyfriend is the “in thing.” Lastly, you better be VERY AWARE of what is on television, in music, and out in the culture that is constantly sending the message to your children that homosexuality is a normal and acceptable CHOICE!

As those who follow Christ, we also have a responsibility to pray for those who are in this bondage, for God to open their hearts to the truth of His Word, and to turn from their sin. Until Jesus returns, we will always have those who choose a perverted form of sex with those of their own gender, just like we will always have those who choose to pervert sex by having it outside of the bonds of marriage. While we can never accept their choice since it is clearly against God’s Word, we must pray for them, just like we must pray for everyone who is battling sin in their life.

For those reading this who are currently fighting homosexuality, let me tell you that God has never stopped loving you, and is simply waiting for you to turn from your sin and come back to Him. We serve a God of deliverance from sin, a God of forgiveness, and a God of restoration. Millions have turned from the sin of homosexuality and found complete restoration and fulfillment in living a life according to God’s plan. What He did for someone else, He can do for you! I pray today that you hear these words, and choose to find freedom from your sin today. That freedom is only a prayer away!

In His love and service,
Your friend and brother in Christ,

As You Share Christ with People Tthere are Many Who will Get Angry with You for Mentioning His Name

(2 Thessalonians 3:2; John 12:48; 2 Corinthians 4:4; John 3:11; John 8:24)

In the course of your day-to-day life, as you have opportunities to share Christ with people you meet, know up front that many who are not Christians will get angry with you for even mentioning the name of Jesus Christ. This anger stems from the fact that those who are lost, deep, deep, down, know that something is missing in their life.

When God created Adam, He created Adam in perfection and with a spiritual connection to God. One of the byproducts of Adam’s sin was that spiritual connection with God was broken. There was now a gulf between man and God due to man’s sin. Since each person is born with sin, they are born with a void in their life that only being reconnected to God can fill.

This is why people get involved with drugs, with alcohol, with gambling, with sex, or become addicted to work and success. This is why so many people get lost in cults and the false religions of this world. There is a void in a person’s life that subconsciously they know is there and are trying to fill. I want to tell you today that this void can ONLY be filled by reconnecting to God. The Good News today is that God loves us so much, He sent Jesus to die for OUR sins so that by putting our faith in Him, we could be reconnected with God and that void in our life would be filled.

That is why a Christian can know joy, despite the pain life has to offer. That is why a Christian can know peace, even in the midst of the fiercest trials. That is why a Christian can enjoy the abundance of this life, even when there is no abundance by this world’s standards. The joy, the peace, the abundance of this life comes from having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and being reconnected with God our Creator.

THAT is why the lost are so angry at Christians. They have rejected God’s free gift of everlasting life through Jesus Christ and look to the things of this world to try and fill the void only God can fill. From time to time, they must justify in their own mind their rejection of Christ. The way they normally do this is by attacking the Bible, since it is God’s Word that condemns them.

They always ask about who Cain and Abel married (their sisters, it was when God gave the law to Moses that incest was forbidden), they always ask about the dinosaurs (they were created with the animals and became extinct during the flood of Noah), how people could live to be 900 years old (man was originally created to live forever, and as the generations went on the age of man decreased), and numerous other questions that in many cases only God can answer. They also point out what may appear to be contradictions in the Bible. Let me assure you, there are NO, ZERO, NADA contradictions in the Bible.

All of this is done to try and minimize and discredit the Bible from being God’s inspired, inerrant Word, representing absolute truth, and our final authority in all matters. Again, it is God’s Word that condemns them for their rebellion, so of course it is God’s Word they attack. My advice is to visit a local Christian bookstore and you will find many books that explain in depth why the Bible really is the Word of God and perfect in every way.

I love you and care about you so much. I realize the anger of the lost keeps many people from sharing their faith. Never forget, they are angry at God, NOT you. Your job is simply to tell them the truth, and share with them the hope and love of Christ. What they choose to do with that truth is then between them and God.

Also, don’t be intimidated by their questions. If you know the answer, tell them, if you don’t, tell them you don’t. SOMEONE THAT IS LOST AND SIMPLY TRYING TO JUSTIFY THEIR REJECTION OF CHRIST WILL ALWAYS HAVE MORE QUESTIONS THAN YOU WILL EVER HAVE ANSWERS. I have never in over 14 years, having dealt with tens of thousands of people, EVER had a person asking a string of questions say, “OK, I am glad you answered that for me, now I will believe.” You will never win a debate with someone that is lost since they have no desire to accept what you are saying. Your time is best spent praying for these people rather than debating them.

Many people you meet however, will be honestly open to looking into having a relationship with Christ. Trust me, you will know who these people are. Do your best to answer their questions, and don’t hesitate to get others involved in helping you out. But, never forget that how you live your life and what Christ has done in your life will always be your most effective and powerful witness to others.

I will be praying for you today. God has given us a commandment, not a suggestion to share our faith in Christ with this hurting and lost world. We have the only answer there is. The void in the lives of people that has been created by sin can only be filled by accepting Jesus Christ which reconnects a person to God their Creator. Those who choose to reject Christ are angry because they have a hole in their life only HE can fill.

If you want to fill that void in your life today, if you want to be reconnected to God your Creator today, you have the opportunity right now. Simply pray and ask God to open your heart, and read the words at this link, http://www.liveprayer.com/plan.cfm

In His love and service,

Every Time You Pick Up a Newspaper You are Confronted with the Evil that Exists in this World

(James 1:17)

Every time you turn on the television, pick up a newspaper, or go to an on-line news source, you are confronted with the evil that exists in this world. In dealing with the day-to-day issues of living in this world, the Daily Devotional often focuses on the evil we face in our lives. It is very easy to get so focused on all that is bad in the world, that we forget to take a moment and reflect on all that is GOOD in the world. Does evil exist? Absolutely. However, there is also much GOOD in the world we live in as well.

Sadly, we can fall into that same trap in our own personal lives. It is so easy to spend our time and energy focusing on all that is wrong with our lives, we rarely take the opportunity to sit back and see all that is right with our lives. Because our problems always seem to be before us and dominate our thoughts and prayers, we forget that there is also much good in our life as well. Today, I want to encourage you and challenge you to take a few minutes and look at all the GOOD that is in our world, and just as important, all of the GOOD that is in your life!!!

In discussing the evil in the world, I have shared with you that the root of evil is the hearts of men who choose to live their lives in rebellion to God. Evil is NOT from God, but those who have chosen to rebel against God. The bible tells us that “every good and perfect gift is from above.” (James 1:17 NIV) Whatever is good in this world comes from God. Let me put this in a very personal way for you. When you live your life in rebellion to God, you are contributing to the evil in this world. When you live your life in obedience to God, you are contributing to the good in this world. YOU, literally become a vessel of evil or of good.

That is a very heavy statement I just made, so I am going to repeat it for you, and I want you to take time to meditate on these words today and ask God to help you understand the power and importance of what this means.

YOUR LIFE IS EITHER A VESSEL OF EVIL OR A VESSEL OF GOOD.

When you live in rebellion to God, you are a vessel of evil. When you live in obedience to God, you are a vessel of good.

I want you to take some time today and really reflect on all that is GOOD in our world. Rather than focusing on all that is bad in the world, I want you to take some time today and simply look at all the good there is around you. Every day people all over the world are coming to know Jesus Christ as their Savior. So many people all over the world give of themselves to help others who are less fortunate. This planet has so many tremendous resources that allow the vast majority of the people to sustain a wonderful standard of life. We have many tremendous scientific and medical advancements that help us enjoy our life.

Most important, we have the incredible blessings of God that allow us to not just live our life, but live it abundantly. He has given us His Word to guide us and direct us through this journey of life. We have the precious promises in His Word that we can count on to sustain us throughout our life. We have the incredible opportunity to not only have an intimate relationship with our Creator, but to know His love for us. We can wake up each morning knowing that our life is not an accident or coincidence, but God has a plan and purpose for each of us. My friend, there is SO MUCH good in this world, if we will simply take the time to acknowledge it.

I also want you to take some time today to reflect on your own life. Again, it is so easy to focus on what is wrong with our life, we forget to focus on what is right with our life. Because we have to wake up and face the battles with our finances, with our employment, with our marriage, with our children, with our health, or whatever your battles may be, we tend to forget that there is actually much GOOD in our life. My friend, don’t let your problems keep you from your praise. Here we go again. I know many of you just missed that, so let me say it again . . . slowly.

DON’T LET YOUR PROBLEMS KEEP YOU FROM YOUR PRAISE!!!

I am not saying that your problems aren’t important, or that you should just forget your problems. What I am saying is to not let your problems overwhelm you to the point you don’t take the time to give God the praise for all of His blessings in your life each day. We all have problems in our life. That is simply part of life. However, we all have blessings as well. As a matter of fact, we have blessings in our life that we take for granted and don’t even thank God for. That great old hymn said to “Count your many blessings, see what God hath done. Count your many blessings, name them one by one.” You need to take some time today and do exactly what that great hymn writer suggested, and COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS!

I love you and care about you so much. It is so easy to fall into the trap of focusing only on the evil in the world, the problems in our life, that we lose sight of all the good in this world we live in and the MANY BLESSINGS God bestows upon us each day. I pray that today you will take a few minutes to reflect on the good in the world and the blessings in your life. God loves you so much. Jesus said He came to “give life, and give life abundantly.” Sit back today and look at all of the good in our world. Take a few minutes today and reflect on all of the wonderful blessings God has given you.

I want to leave you with the words of our Lord, who just hours before going to the cross told His disciples that in this world they would have trials and tribulations, but He also told them to, “be of good cheer, for I have overcome this world.” AMEN! One day the evil will be gone and all that will be left is good. If you know Christ as your Savior, the Bible says that when this life is over, “there will be no more death, or mourning, or crying, or pain.” Take time today to acknowledge all of the good that is in this world and in your life!!!

Your friend and brother in Christ,

The Enemy is So Subtle in the Way He Works

(Colossians 3:2)

The enemy is so subtle in the way he works. One of my goals from time to time is to expose his tricks so that you won’t be fooled and have to live through the consequences of falling into one of his many traps. How easy we get distracted from our eternal mission and goals, and get focused instead on the meaningless things of this temporal world that will one day be gone.

I think about a few years ago, when millions were glued to their TV sets watching that horrible perversion of God’s plan for marriage, “Who Wants To Marry A Millionaire.” Most laughed at the show, but what a horrible message it sent to so many without any kind of Biblical foundation about how God’s sacred institution of marriage was little more than a way for TV networks to get ratings. Or professional wrestling, one of the most popular programs on TV. Entertainment? Is it really entertaining to watch a huge man body slam a woman through a table? Is that what our “entertainment” has deteriorated to?

The reason I address these issues today is to share that even Christians can get out of focus in their daily lives. It would be nice to assume that everyone watching these types of programs, everyone going into adult bookstores, everyone that buys drugs, everyone that is engaging in so many ungodly activities each day, were simply “the lost.” But unfortunately that is not the case.

Many good, saved, churchgoing people get caught up in the things of this world because they have allowed the temporary, short-term allure of sin to capture their mind. They have focused on the things of this world instead of on the things of God. For most, it happens slowly over a period of time. But by continually focusing on the things that this world has to offer instead of the things of God, they have ended up on roads that they never thought they would be on.

I am not telling you that you should stop having fun. I am however, issuing a warning to you today that when you start focusing too much on the things of this world and not enough time on the things of God, you are inviting major problems into your life. Remember, in the world there is no right or wrong, there is no absolute truth. That is a lie from the pits of hell and why I encourage you daily to stay in the Bible, because God’s Word IS ABSOLUTE TRUTH. IT IS RIGHT AND WRONG.

The world’s goal is to be politically correct and not to offend anyone. The truth in God’s Word is highly offensive to many because it lays out clearly what is right and what is wrong, and those living in rebellion to God are then reminded that the free will choices they have made are not in God’s will. I guess my question for you today is, are you more concerned with pleasing the world or pleasing God?

I love you and care about you. I will be praying for you today to keep your focus on God, and not get distracted by the things of this world. I am so thankful for those of you who have been able to stand with me in this work here at Liveprayer. One day in Heaven you will get a tap on your shoulder and someone will tell you how they gave their life to Christ, or got through a difficult time because of Liveprayer. YOU help make that possible each and every day with your prayers and support of this ministry. Thank you!

Let me close today again with a simple question, “Is your mind focused more on the things of this world or the things of God?” Pray about that today.

In His love and service,

Your friend and brother in Christ,

Bill Keller

When I Lived in Chicago I Used to Love to Go to Wrigley Field to Watch the Cubs Play

(Philippians 2:12; Malachi 3:3; Luke 6:48)

Years ago when I lived in the great city of Chicago, I used to love to take an afternoon and go to one of the last of the great old ballparks, Wrigley Field, to watch the Cubs play. Whenever I would go to a game, I would always stop by one of the vendors that were lined up outside the stadium and get an Italian Sausage, loaded with green peppers and sautéed onions on a poppy seed bun with fresh cut fries. For those who live in Chicago or are familiar with the city, you know what I am talking aobut.

Of course, there is NOTHING like a good Chicago hotdog. A Vienna Brand pure beef hotdog, with mustard, relish, diced onions, fresh tomatoes, a dash of celery salt, hot sport peppers, a slice of Kosher pickle, all piled high on a steamed poppy-seed bun with fresh-cut fries. I am blessed (or cursed) to actually have a guy 4 blocks from the Liveprayer office who runs a Chicago-style hot-dog stand. He imports everything from Chicago and it is like being back in the Windy City!!!

Believe it or not, this is going to be a very spiritual Devotional today so bear with me. I had a good friend when I was living in Chicago who worked in one of the many meat packing plants. He was a sausage maker. One day, he started to tell me exactly how they made sausage and what all of the ingredients were. It was a conversation that I immediately erased from my memory bank, otherwise I doubt I could ever enjoy a sausage sandwich again. But the fact is, all that goes into living our faith in Christ each day can be very much like making sausage.

I received an email the other day from a dear brother in Christ who shared with me that he began getting the Daily Devotional in September of 1999, just a few weeks after we launched Liveprayer. He told me that after nearly 12 years of reading the Daily Devotional, he has grown in his faith and developed a relationship with the Lord like He never dreamed was possible. He shared with me that while the content of the Daily Devotional each day over these years has played a role, the biggest impact on his life has been to watch me as I put my faith in action and lived it day after day, week after week, month after month, and year after year.

This brother shared that for him, what sets the Liveprayer Daily Devotional apart from any Devotional he has ever read is the ability to interact and the open, honest, and transparent way I share my own life with the reader each day. Whether it is admitting my sins, the struggles I face, the stupid mistakes I make, he told me each day included in the Devotional was also a daily installment of my life like some reality TV program that was not edited in any way. He said as much as anything, watching me live out my faith each day as God has blessed and expanded this ministry over these past 142 months has done as much to help him grow in His faith as anyhting else.

I had never really thought about it much, but this brother was right. When I began writing the Daily Devotional, I wrote it to challenge and encourage people who were not saved to open their hearts to the Lord’s love, and for those who knew the Lord, to become all God has called them to be in their life. I didn’t write it from some Ivory Tower, but at eye level where we all live our lives, including me. I am no different or special than anyone who read the Daily Devotional. I have the same struggles, fight the same temptations, have to work on my walk with the Lord each day just like everyone else does. I’ve tried to be very candid, open, and honest with my readers each day as I do my best to live my faith in front of over 2.4 million people worldwide every day.

The reality is, living our faith each day is a bit like making sausage. It is not always pretty. There are things in our life we wish weren’t there. However, if we don’t give up, work at it each day, do the things we are supposed to do, in the end it works! That is the bottom line. As disgusting as the process of making sausage can be, the fact is when it is finished, cooked on an open grill, it tastes great!!! As difficult and challenging as living our faith is each day, as much as we struggle to follow the Lord and His Word, the fact is at the end of the day we find that peace, the assurance of His love, and realize it really works.

I love you and care aobut you so much. I want to apologize to anyone who will become weak and cheat on what they are supposed to eat today by indulging in a good Italian or Polish sausage or possibly a hot dog. I know that struggle. I have been very good and disciplined in the number of times each month I visit the Chicago hot dog stand near my office. I know it isn’t the best thing in the world to eat, but it is SOOOO good. So I look forward to the few times each month I indulge, and no, all of the toppings don’t count as vegetables and make it OK!

Just like making sausage isn’t the prettiest site to behold, neither is how we live our faith most of the time. We all struggle, fail, battle, move forward, fall back, realize we need to do more, get weary, get convicted, question God, find a good groove for a while, lose it, wonder what we are supposed to do for the Lord, get to where we need to be, and so on it goes. Sound familiar? This is life my friend as we fight the battle each day with the flesh and the Sprit, as we do our best to “die to self” and live our life for Him.

I will be praying for you today. Praying that you don’t ever give up. Each day is a new opportunity to walk with the Lord. If you know Jesus in the pardon of your sins by faith, you will be spending all eternity with Him. Now is a good time to learn how to walk with Him. You do that daily by reading God’s Word, praying, and by consciously surrendering your life to Him each day. It is the only relationship you will take from this brief journey through life and enjoy for all eternity. The best part, despite all of the problems, the trials and tribulations of living in our weak flesh and in this fallen world, when we walk with the Lord we come to know God’s peace, His joy, and the abundance Jesus promised we would have.

Making sausage in a difficult process, so is living our faith. However, in the end both can turn out wonderful!!!

In His love and service,
Your friend and brother in Christ,

Bill Keller
