It Is The Weekend

(Mark 6:31)

It is the weekend. For most, the weekend is a time to get away from the pressures of work and relax. Let me encourage you to spend as much time as possible this weekend putting your troubles on hold and focusing instead on rest and relaxation.

I am not trying to minimize the complex and difficult situations many of you are facing, but we MUST find pockets of time in our life to put the burdens down and simply rest. You are much better equipped to handle life’s problems when you are fresh and energized, than when you are tired and running on fumes. It is in those run down times when our problems look insurmountable and we are most apt to become depressed and lose hope. Even Jesus had to get away once in a while to recharge his physical body.

A time of rest does many things for you. It helps you to regain your physical strength. However, just as important, it allows you to regain your mental strength. Fighting day after day wears us down mentally and we get so focused on our problems that we lose sight of possible alternatives that may help us in our struggles. Getting worn down also causes us to lose perspective causing us to forget that God is still in control.

Most important though, a time of rest helps us to refocus on our personal relationship with the Lord. In the midst of our trials, we can miss out on that daily, intimate time with Him which just compounds our problems. That time of rest allows us to not only recharge our bodies and minds, but our relationship with the Lord.

Just hours before going to the cross, Jesus told His disciples that in this life they would have many trials. He did not want them to be deceived into thinking that just because they had walked with Him, they were immune from life’s problems. But He promised them that He would always be with them.

We are heirs to that promise as followers of Christ. It is the Christ living in us that gives us the ability to live victorious lives. Never lose sight that the Bible tells us that we are more than conquerors through Him. That means whatever you are facing today, whatever obstacles may be in your life, because of Jesus, you can overcome them and be victorious. So today while you rest, while you recharge, dwell not on your problems, but on the fact that we have total victory in Jesus!

I love you and care about you. I pray that you will have a wonderful few days of rest and relaxation, that you will be able to spend quality time with family and friends, and that most important you will spend some quality time with the Lord.

He loves you, cares about you, and will make you adequate each day for the challenges that you face. Focus on living life in His strength and not your strength, and those burdens won’t seem as heavy. Enjoy this day as you put your troubles on hold, and find that peace that passes all human understanding in Him.

In His love and service,
Your friend and brother in Christ,
Bill Keller

The Ft. Hood Shooter is a Muslim and was on Pres. Obama’s Homeland Security Panel

(Numbers 33:55; Exodus 34:12; Ezra 9:14)

The Fort Hood shooter is a Muslim and was on President Obama’s Homeland Security panel that was advising the Obama Administration transition team! Why would anyone be surprised the man responsible for 13 deaths to date, dozens injured, on a U.S. Army base was none other than Major Malik Nidal Hasan…a devout Muslim! Since the massacre, tons of evidence has surfaced that this man was on record about his views against our war on those who want to destroy this nation and his allegiance to this false religion of hate and death.

Why will the U.S. military not honorably discharge ALL who claim Islam as their religion? In the end, their allegiance is NOT to this nation but to the satanically inspired teachings of Mohammed. Hasan is a highly educated man who rose to the rank of MAJOR in the U.S. Army. When “jihad” is declared in this nation, all those who follow the lies of Islam will rise up just like Major Hasan did!!! ALL MUSLIMS ARE LOYAL TO THE TEACHINGS OF HATE AND DEATH THAT HAS BEEN PART OF THIS FALSE RELIGION SINCE IT WAS FOUNDED 1400 YEARS AGO!!!

So you still think Islam is a “religion of peace?” Even before 9/11, I have tried my best to warn people about the false religion of Islam. Islam is a false religion dreamed up by a Mecca businessman named Muhammed 1400 years ago that has been spread from day one by hatred and death and has led the souls of those who followed its lies to the eternal flames of hell. It is the fastest growing religion in the world with nearly 2 billion people on the planet following the teachings of the Qu’ran, the book of fables Muhammed inspired that makes up the theology of this false religion. While Muslims like to claim they are a religion of love and peace, their teachings and actions over 1400 years continually prove they are about hatred and death.

Of course, there will be Muslim apologists who say that these are only the extremists, just like they try to distance themselves from their brothers in this “peaceful religion” who flew the planes into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and the one intended for the Capital building that was crashed in a Pennsylvania field by some real American heroes. Do you remember a few years ago when there was a cartoon in a Dutch newspaper depicting Muhammed with a bomb in his headdress? There were riots and people were actually killed over a CARTOON! Remember a year or so ago when Pope Benedict simply shared the historical fact that Islam was spread by violence and death and the Catholic churches that were burned down and the nuns killed by Muslims protesting his statements?

Do you remember the Islamic activist group CAIR that has ties to terrorist groups and operates in this country as an “advocacy group” for Muslims, and their 4 year campaign to take the Liveprayer TV program off this air for simply having the audacity to tell the truth about their false religion? After 1,175 programs and 4 1/2 yrs on the air, the gutless executives at CBS who owned the station we had broadcast on in Tampa since March of 2003 finally caved in to the intimidation and fear of this group. Over the years they had been successful in silencing other media personalities from saying anything negative about Islam, and I am certain, emboldened by their intimidation of CBS, is now doing all they can to take radio talk show host Michael Savage off the air.

These people are not about love or peace or unity. They are about one thing. Converting the world to their false religion and those who get in their way or who refuse to follow their lies will be silenced and killed. The word “Islam” literally means “submission.” Maybe you don’t understand what it means when their “holy book” says “death to all infidels.” An “infidel” by their definition is anyone who has not converted to their false beliefs. This is their book. These are their teachings. THIS IS WHAT ALL MUSLIMS BELIEVE!

That is why I was stunned the other day when I came across an article about many high profile Christian leaders who are forming some sort of alliance with top Muslim leaders. Jim Wallis, president of Sojourners, Leith Anderson, president of the National Association of Evangelicals, Pastors Rick Warren of Saddleback and Bill Hybles of Willow Creek, and Robert E. Cooley, president emeritus of Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, are just a few of the prominent Christians who have signed a letter issued by the Yale Center for Faith and Culture as a response to a letter signed last month by 138 representative Muslim leaders calling on the two Abrahamic faiths to love God and neighbors together.

Sounds nice doesn’t it? These Muslim clerics are not looking for love and peace, only mainstream acceptance! The very teachings of their false religion doesn’t call for this type of peace, only the DEATH of those who refuse to convert to their lies. I know these high profile Christians can’t be that stupid, so there has to be some other motivation. Sadly, I have documented for you in the past the key leaders who sold out in the 80s to Moon’s Unification Cult to give that lie from hell mainstream acceptance. Now, we have several very high profile prominent Christian leaders getting in bed with Muslim leaders!

Don’t these people read the Bible? The Bible says MUCH about who we associate with, about avoiding being associated with the wrong people. In Numbers 33:55, God warned Israel that bad associations would be a continual thorn in their side. In Exodus 34:12 and Ezra 9:14, Israel was specifically forbidden to develop relationships with ungodly nations. You can go all throughout the Bible and read God’s warnings and what He says about the type of relationships we enter into and those we associate with. That is why these ecumenical movements that seek to bring all the false religions and faiths of the world together as one is such a damnable lie. It is so damnable, in the final days there will be a One World Religion that all will be forced to be part of.

Some have asked what is wrong with being part of these groups with the false religions and cults of the world. Simple! THERE IS ONLY ONE TRUTH, THE TRUTH OF THE BIBLE. What is required when you enter into any of these ecumenical groups is that you lay aside the absolutes of the Bible. IT IS CALLED COMPROMISE, SOMETHING I HAVE PREACHED ON CONTINUALLY FOR 2 DECADES! IT IS COMPROMISE THAT HAS MADE THE CHURCH SO WEAK AND INEFFECTIVE. IT IS COMPROMISE THAT HAS ALLOWED SOME CHURCHES TO ACCEPT AND CONDONE SINS LIKE HOMOSEXUALITY AND ABORTION. IT IS COMPRISE THAT HAS CAUSED CHURCHES TO STOP BELIEVING AND TEACHING THAT THE BIBLE IS THE INSPIRED INERRANT WORD OF GOD, REPRESENTING ABSOLUTE TRUTH AND OUR FINAL AUTHORITY IN ALL MATTERS.

IT IS COMPROMISE THAT ALLOWS MEN AND WOMEN OF GOD TO ASSOCIATE WITH THOSE WHO FOLLOW RELIGIONS AND FAITHS IN COMPLETE REBELLION TO GOD, HIS TRUTH, AND HIS SON JESUS!!!

I love and care about you so much. I can only pray as I continue to sound this trump of warning that people will wake up. I cringe every time I hear people like President Obama state that Islam is a “religion of peace.” ISLAM HAS NEVER BEEN ABOUT PEACE, ONLY DEATH! I have shared with you earlier this year how I felt that Islam would be the United States Babylon if we didn’t turn back to God and His Truth. As I watch what is happening in this nation I firmly believe that now even more than when the Holy Spirit led me to write that special message. Recently, a Muslim nation bought a 5% stake in Citicorp. The energy requirements of this nation are still tied almost exclusively to the oil we get out of Muslim nations. Muslims who have come to the United States have refused to assimilate into the American way of life, instead, are doing all they can to force Americans to assimilate into their way of life.

Also, please don’t buy this political correct lie that their are “good Muslims” and “bad Muslims.” By their own definition, a good Muslim is one who follows the Qu’ran and the teachings of Islam without question or deviation. The goal of Islam is to convert the world to their false religion, and if you don’t think they want to turn the United States into a Muslim nation, you have been sound asleep. The sad thing is, this has only happened because the church has quit being the church. Christians have taken themselves out of the marketplace and are hiding in the safety and profitability of the “Christian trough.” Sadly, many of those who have ventured into the marketplace have compromised the Gospel by entering into unholy alliances with cults like the Mormons and false religions like Islam.

If there was ever a time for the true followers of Christ to rise up it is now. Jesus is coming at any moment, the final days of human history are unfolding, and it is time to take our stand for Him and His Truth and help bring in that last great harvest of souls. The “allah” of Islam is NOT the God of the Bible, but an imaginary, murderous deity, a stone moon rock housed in the Kabba in Mecca. The Qu’ran is not a holy book, but a book of fables that calls for the death of all who refuse to follow its lies. Islam is NOT a religion of peace, but one of death. The only true peace there is comes from the Prince of Peace Himself, Jesus, the One who overcomes death and promises those who follow Him life, and life everlasting!

One of the Spiritual Tests God Allows Us All to go Through is Serving Him

(Psalms 2:11)

One of the spiritual tests God allows us all to go through is serving Him, even when we don’t feel like it. How many days do you wake up, maybe not feeling well physically or dealing with problems in your life, and serving the Lord is the last thing on your mind? Sickness of course is one of the elements of this sin-filled world we must all face in our life.

One reason I talk so much about staying in shape, eating the right things, not doing things that will harm your body, is because we need to do all we can to insure we stay in the best health possible. I also talk extensively about staying connected to the Lord on a daily basis. Having that intimate daily walk through the Word, through prayer.

These are also preventative things we can do to hopefully make good choices throughout our day that keep us from getting into the types of problems that can consume our life. The fact is, however, we won’t always feel our best. We will be facing the day-to-day problems of life. The test is to serve God despite what we are dealing with in our own life.

I have been so fortunate all my life. Other than sports-related injuries, I have been in excellent health. I get very few colds, so when I am not physically feeling well, that is something I don’t face often. Like everyone, I deal with the real life day-to-day issues at home, with family and friends, here at the ministry.

I can tell you that there are days, many days, when I simply do not feel like serving God, despite that is what He has called me to do and I have committed my life to do. Of course, we all need to use common sense and try to live the balanced life I speak of often, but serving God is not just something those like myself in full-time ministry are called to do, but it is something every child of God is called to do.

It is not an option, it is a commandment. It is not something we do when we feel like it, but it is what our life as a Christian is to be about. You see, despite how you feel or what you are going through, it never negates the call God has on your life as His child to serve Him.

When I talk of serving God, that comes in many forms. For most it is simply living your life each day in a way that is pleasing to the Lord; being the mom, dad, sister, brother, husband, or wife God has called you to be at home; being the “salt of the earth” at your job or school.

In most cases it is simply living a Godly life before this sin-filled world each day. Being kind to others. Helping someone in their time of need. These are all ways we serve God. Of course, there are many other ways we serve God, through activities at our church, working with a ministry, and serving your community. These also are ways we fulfill our obligation to serve God with our lives.

Most days, serving the Lord is not a problem. But there are days when we just don’t feel like being a servant. At those times in my life, I press in to that daily walk with Christ. I ask Him for the strength to accomplish all He desires of me that day. I realize that in my own strength, even when I feel great, I can’t accomplish anything. So it helps me to focus on my dependency upon Him.

It is true. When I am weak, He is strong. It is amazing how many of those days go by quickly. How there are special blessings on those days. You see, my friend, the Lord will always help you to serve Him, follow Him, honor Him with your life and He will bless you for it!

I love you and care about you so much. I pray today that despite what you are facing in your life today, you will not forget that serving the Lord is not an option we have. As His children, it is a mandate clearly laid out in His Word. Jesus was our example. His life was a life of service. You will be surprised how the Lord will not only make you feel better throughout those difficult days, but He will bless you in ways you never imagined.

You hear me say often, when we are about His business, He will be about our business. So true. Many times those impossible situations become possible. Not because I did anything. But because I was obedient and followed God. The spiritual test for you is the next time you don’t feel well, the next time the problems of life seem overwhelming, don’t forget that we are here to serve and glorify Him with our lives.

While satan can’t have the souls of those who know Christ, he can do his best to keep them from serving God. Recognize this trick and serve Him, despite the problems, in the strength God can give you. You will be blessed for it.

In His love and service,
Your friend and brother in Christ,
Bill Keller

Hallowed Ground – The World’s Greatest City and a Nation in Spiritual Freefall

(1 Corinthians 6:20)

Hallowed ground, the world’s greatest city, and a nation in spiritual freefall. Last Saturday morning I stood at ground zero, looking into the giant hole where the World Trade Center towers once proudly stood. I had been to ground zero several years ago, but this time was different since in just a few weeks we would begin a work of God near this precious site that could spark a real revival in the world’s greatest city and turn our nation back to God and His Truth.

What we are putting together is not another church, but a true evangelistic work to save souls, help spark a revival in the most visible city in the world, and ultimately rescue the soul of our once great nation. After nearly 20 years in the ministry, the last 11 years literally on the front lines 24/7/365, I don’t need to plant an evangelistic Christian Center at ground zero, deal with the incredible strongholds in a city like New York, or even try to turn an entire nation back to God and His Truth.

I wish I could just quietly live my life. Who needs the hate-filled emails every day, the websites and blogs dedicated to trying to stop me from serving the Lord, the media stories that portray me as some sort of fringe-lunatic whacko hate monger, the mail filled with feces, the threats of personal harm and even death, on top of the endless spiritual battles. Trust me, I am under no illusion that the 9-11 Christian Center at Ground Zero is only going to intensify all of this exponentially.

Those who oppose the God of the Bible, His Son Jesus, the Truth of God’s Word, have always come after those who seek to serve God since the very beginning. Nothing has changed. Men and women sold out to God over these last 6,000 years have sacrificed their lives, dealt with the persecution in whatever form it took, since they knew their life had a higher purpose. Life is a one-time shot. When it is over, the only real legacy you leave are those eternal things you did for the Lord.

Sadly, most aren’t willing to pay the price. They aren’t willing to sacrifce their very life for the Kingdom of God. It has been those few who did that have formed the foundation of faith we enjoy today. It is now our turn to keep that foundation strong for future generations should the Lord tarry in His return. It is now our turn to make our lives count for Christ!!!

This past weekend, I had the pleasure of meeting several dozen of men and women sold out to the Lord at our New York and Connecticut meetings. These people came to hear about the new 9-11 Christian Center at Ground Zero and to see what role God may be calling them to play. These are normal people, with normal lives, who love the Lord, and simply want to give their lives to serve Him.

I am coming to you and asking you to do 3 things for me. First, pray. This is something everyone can do. I need all the prayers I can get as we move forward with the 9-11 Christian Center at Ground Zero. Second, participate. Even if you can’t come to New York, you can participate by telling others you know. Please forward this Devotional to every person you know.

Third, pledge. I need to raise $410,000 for the first phase by the end of August, $2 million for the second phase by the end of November, and the final $6 million by the end of December. I realize that many are facing financial hardships at this time, however you know people who love the Lord and who God has blessed. Your “gift” can be encouraging them to help me. You can contact your church about making a special “missions gift” to the 9-11 Christian Center at Ground Zero. People will give to support this great work we are starting at ground zero, they simply need to know what we are doing and that we need their help. Pray about who God is leading you to share this with.

*By the way, the $8.4 million we are raising is a fraction of what the Muslims are spending on this memorial to their greatest accomplishment yet, the destruction of the World Trade Center towers on 9/11. For what some churches spend on a building to hold a congregation of 1,000 that meets one hour a week, we can see souls saved at ground zero, spark a real revival in New York City, and have the platform to turn this nation back to God and His Truth!

*ALSO, WHAT WE NEED IS 1/4 OF 1% OF THE 3 BILLION DOLLARS INVESTOR WARREN BUFFETT JUST DONATED TO HELP KILL INNOCENT BABIES!!!!

We will need to raise $10,000 immediately to cover our initial costs prior to opening September 5th. By the end of August, we need to raise $400,000. $100,000 of that will cover the weekly services of the 9-11 Christian Center at Ground Zero from September through the end of the year. $300,000 will be used to air the Liveprayer TV program each day in the New York City TV market on a major secular station. As we have learned over the years, the TV program is a critical element to keep the daily flow of God’s Truth regarding the issues of the day, to minister to people’s needs, to bring the lost to faith in Christ, to promote the 9-11 Christian Center at Ground Zero, but will also help to attract financial support for this effort.

From September through the end of the year, we will need to raise the $8 million needed to operate at full capacity during 2011. $1 million of that will go towards the operations expenses of the 9-11 Christian Center at Ground Zero during 2011, $1 million will cover the years TV budget in the local New York market during 2011, and the other $6 million will allow the program to be aired nationally on a major secular network during 2011. If the Muslims can raise $110 million dollars to construct their mosque and help lead souls to the fires of hell for all eternity, can we not raise just $8,410,000 for a place people can come to find Truth and salvation, while having the national platform in the marketplace to lead this nation back to God and Biblcial Truth???

I love you and care about you so much. It is no accident or coincidence you are reading this today! Everyone has to make their own choices in life. I want you to understand that when you make the choice to accept Jesus as your Savior, the Bible says that it is no longer your life any longer, that it now belongs to Him. But how many people really surrender their life, their entire life to Jesus? Have you?

Will you stand with me as we bring the uncompromised Gospel to ground zero? This hallowed ground will always be remembered for what happened their on 9/11, but what a testimony to God, it will now be used to see souls won for Christ and a place where the sparks of revival take over the entire city…and nation!!!

Let God use your life to help me change the spiritual course of millions of lives, a great city, and our nation!!! PRAY….PARTICIPATE….PLEDGE!!!

Homosexuality is Now Mainstream

(Deuteronomy 28:7; 1 Timothy 1:18, 6:12; 2 Timothy 2:4; Ephesians 6:12)

Homosexuality is now mainstream! Don’t believe me? Let me share what is happened in this nation in just the last month. You have President Barack Hussein Obama now planning on overturning DOMA, or the Defense of Marriage Act which defines marriage as between a man and woman and allows states who reject gay marriage to not recognize gay marriages endorsed by other states.

At the same time, you have the Massachussets courts, a state that legalized same-sex marriages, trying to force other states to accept their same-sex marriages as they would a true marriage between a man and a woman. Within the next few weeks you will have the first lesbian serving on the Supreme Court. At the University of Illinois, a professor who was teaching a class in Catholocism WAS fired for simply stating the Roman Catholic Church calls homosexuality a sin.

The bottom line, the homosexual community has done a masterful job over the past 30 years in forcing society to validate legally and ethically their choice of sexual behavior and relationships, and to enact laws that allow them to promote this sinful choice to our children as normal, even desirable behavior!!!

I don’t condemn the homosexual community for where our culutre is in regard to this sin, I condemn the church! It was the church and a generation of gutless pastors who sat back in silence, or worse yet, actually worked to insure this sin would infest every part of our society. We have noboyd to blame but ourselves!!! This whole issue really boils down to, who wants it bad enough. Who is more motivated and willing to go the extra mile to present their beliefs to the masses and influence our culture.

That answer should be obvious to everyone. Those who have made the CHOICE to commit the sin of homosexuality, those who have chosen to live their lives in rebellion to God are bold, aggressive, and tireless in their efforts to make the sin of homosexuality mainstream. If this was a football game, they would be winning 77-14!

Recently, Wal-Mart asking to join the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce, a leading promoter of homosexual marriage. That is right, Wal-Mart! You can’t get any more middle-America, mom, God, and apple pie than Wal-Mart. I have no doubt the deceased founder of Wal-Mart, Sam Walton, is spinning in his grave over what is happening to the company he founded. It is clear that Wal-Mart wants to be part of the mainstream culture and market their goods and services to the masses. So to appeal to our mainstream culture, they are reaching out to a very small segment of our society that is only differentiated by their choice to have deviant and perverted forms of sex.

To show you how mainstream homosexuality has become, you can simply go to many churches to hear this sin condoned and accepted. Rev. Betsy Singleton, “pastor” of the Quapaw Quarter United Methodist Church in Little Rock, Arkansas, preaches from her pulpit that gay marriage is perfectly okay. Not surprising, this “pastor” who makes a mockery of the work of God, also says that Jesus is NOT the only way to God.

As I have shared with you, when you condone sin, the first thing you have to do is minimize the Bible for the Truth that it is. Once you reject the Truth of God’s Word about a sin like homosexuality, it is easy to reject the actual words of Jesus who said HE is the ONLY way to God.

Don’t think satan is playing for keeps? How about one of his great spokeswomen, Rosie O’Donnell? A while back I did a Devotional on this radical lesbian entertainer who is a huge advocate for gay rights and the abominable practice of gay adoption. A few years ago on The View she stated, “There is no difference between radical Islam and radical Christianity.”

I would like to point out to Miss O’Donnell that the goal of radical Islam is to KILL all “infidels,” or those who reject their false religion (including her). The goal of what she calls “radical Christianity” is to lead people to everlasting life through faith in Jesus Christ. One seeks to KILL LIFE, the other seeks to GIVE LIFE. The funny thing is that if Rosie lived in a Muslim nation she would be taken to the local soccer stadium and stoned to death for her deviant sexual lifestyle!

The “radical Christians” Rosie refers to, are those who have the audacity to stand up and call her out for the sin of homosexuality and work against her efforts to destroy the lives of children by letting homosexual couples adopt. On my TV program, whenever I deal with the sin of homosexuality, I am always attacked and labeled as “extreme,” a “homophobe,” “intolerant,” narrow-minded,” and often referred to as the same as the “Taliban.” Those who promote this deviant form of sex know that in most cases they can silence those who confront them by intimidating them and bullying them.

I’ve been telling you for nearly 11 years now, that when you tell the lie long enough and loud enough, people begin to believe the lie to be the truth, and the truth to be the lie. The fact is, the people who glorify and promote the sin of homosexuality simply are more committed to the work satan has given them to do than the followers of Christ are in the work He has called us to. Sadly, many of those who God has raised up in these last days have taken their gifts, talents, and resources to build their own kingdoms.

I love you and care about you so much. Let me ask you a question this morning. Do you care enough about the things of God to take a stand for Him? Those who hate God take a stand for satan every day. Many of them are tireless in their efforts to see the work of satan furthered. You don’t have to be very astute to look at our culture and see that those who hate God are doing a much better job than those who love God.

I pray that this word today will stir something inside you. The fact is, God has called and needs every one of His children serving Him every day. It, of course, starts with our own relationship with the Lord, but then extends to how we live our lives before others, while doing our best to influence the people in our lives for Christ and finding ways to serve the Lord.

Let me leave you with this Truth today. Whatever power satan has for this brief season is minimal. Those who know Christ as their Savior have the power of the Holy Spirit within them. Listen to me carefully. That is the power of God at your fingertips. The greatest and most awesome power in the universe. For us to be living in a culture dominated by evil, for us to be losing this war for the souls of men makes no sense. It simply boils down to the fact that those who serve satan are more motivated and committed than those who serve Jesus.

I will be praying for you today. Let God speak to your heart today about how He can use you. Make it your goal over these next few days to get motivated in serving the Lord. If the people of God got serious about serving Him, even a fraction as motivated as those who serve satan, we can see an immediate change in our culture. Sins like homosexuality will no longer be treated as acceptable and mainstream, but called what they are, rebellion to God!

In His love and service,
Your friend and brother in Christ,
Bill Keller

Every Time You Turn on the TV You are Confronted with the Evil that Exists in this Worl

(James 1:17)

Every time you turn on the television, pick up a newspaper, or go to an online news source, you are confronted with the evil that exists in this world. In dealing with the day-to-day issues of living in this world, the Daily Devotional often focuses on the evil we face in our lives. It is very easy to get so focused on all that is bad in the world, that we forget to take a moment and reflect on all that is GOOD in the world. Does evil exist? Absolutely. However, there is also much GOOD in the world we live in as well.

Sadly, we can fall into that same trap in our own personal lives. It is so easy to spend our time and energy focusing on all that is wrong with our lives, we rarely take the opportunity to sit back and see all that is right with our lives. Because our problems always seem to be before us and dominate our thoughts and prayers, we forget that there is also much good in our life as well. Today, I want to encourage you and challenge you to take a few minutes and look at all the GOOD that is in our world and just as important, all of the GOOD that is in your life!!!

In discussing the evil in the world, I have shared with you that the root of evil is the hearts of men who choose to live their lives in rebellion to God. Evil is NOT from God, but those who have chosen to rebel against God. The bible tells us that “Every good and perfect gift is from above.” – (James 1:17 NIV) Whatever is good in this world comes from God. Let me put this in a very personal way for you. When you live your life in rebellion to God, you are contributing to the evil in this world. When you live your life in obedience to God, you are contributing to the good in this world. YOU, literally become a vessel of evil or of good.

That is a very heavy statement I just made, so I am going to repeat it for you and I want you to take time to meditate on these words today and ask God to help you understand the power and importance of what this means. YOUR LIFE IS EITHER A VESSEL OF EVIL OR A VESSEL OF GOOD. When you live in rebellion to God, you are a vessel of evil. When you live in obedience to God, you are a vessel of good.

I want you to take some time today and really reflect on all that is GOOD in our world. Rather than focusing on all that is bad in the world, I want you to take some time today and simply look at all the good there is around you. Every day people all over the world are coming to know Jesus Christ as their Savior. So many people all over the world give of themselves to help others who are less fortunate. This planet has so many tremendous resources that allow the vast majority of the people to sustain a wonderful standard of life. We have many tremendous scientific and medical advancements that help us enjoy our life.

Most important, we have the incredible blessings of God that allow us to not just live our life, but live it abundantly. He has given us His Word to guide us and direct us through this journey of life. We have the precious promises in His Word that we can count on to sustain us throughout our life. We have the incredible opportunity to not only have an intimate relationship with our Creator, but to know His love for us. We can wake up each morning knowing that our life is not an accident or coincidence, but God has a plan and purpose for each of us. My friend, there is SO MUCH good in this world if we will simply take the time to acknowledge it.

I also want you to take some time today to reflect on your own life. Again, it is so easy to focus on what is wrong with our life, we forget to focus on what is right with our life. Because we have to wake up and face the battles with our finances, with our employment, with our marriage, with our children, with our health, or whatever your battles may be, we tend to forget that there is actually much GOOD in our life. My friend, don’t let your problems keep you from your praise. Here we go again. I know many of you just missed that, so let me say it again..slow. DON’T LET YOUR PROBLEMS KEEP YOU FROM YOUR PRAISE!!!

I am not saying that your problems aren’t important, or that you should just forget your problems. What I am saying is to not let your problems overwhelm you to the point you don’t take the time to give God the praise for all of His blessings in your life each day. We all have problems in our life. That is simply part of life. However, we all have blessings as well. As a matter of fact, we have blessings in our life that we take for granted and don’t even thank God for. That great old hymn said to “Count your many blessings, see what God hath done. Count your many blessings, name them one by one.” You need to take some time today and do exactly what that great hymn writer suggested, and COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS!

I love you and care about you so much. It is so easy to fall into the trap of focusing only on the evil in the word, the problems in our life, that we lose sight of all the good in this world we live in and the MANY BLESSINGS God bestows upon us each day. I pray that today you will take a few minutes to reflect on the good in the world and the blessings in your life. God loves you so much. Jesus said He came to “give life, and give life abundantly.” Sit back today and look at all of the good in our world. Take a few minutes today and reflect on all of the wonderful blessings God has given you.

I want to leave you with the words of our Lord, who just hours before going to the cross told His disciples that in this world they would have trials and tribulations, but He also told them to, “be of good cheer, for I have overcome this world.” AMEN! One day the evil will be gone and all that will be left is good. If you know Christ as your Savior the Bible says that when this life is over, “there will be no more death, or mourning, or crying, or pain.” Take time today to acknowledge all of the good that is in this world and in your life!!!

Your friend and brother in Christ,

Why Not Live However You Want and Simply Accept Christ Right Before You Die

(Romans 6:1-18)

Why not live however you want and simply accept Christ right before you die? These are two questions I get asked often from both Christians and non-Christians. Many non-Christians are looking for an “angle” with God. Those Christians see people living this way and think it is unfair, especially when they are living a life of obedience to God. Today, I want to look at the answers to these questions to help the non-Christian realize that you can’t play games with God, and for the Christian to understand that God’s grace is available to everyone.

Why not sin and just ask God to forgive you afterwards? Sadly, this is a far-too-common mindset, especially among Christians. They are faced with the opportunity to sin and the knowledge that God will forgive them actually motivates them to give in to sin. Of course, satan is there encouraging this perverted thought process, telling the person to, “Go ahead and sin, you know God will forgive you.” Some look at the promise of God’s forgiveness as a license to sin.

First of all, will God forgive you? Absolutely. God is not a liar. If you repent and ask Him to, He will forgive you, but listen to me carefully. God knows your heart! Never forget that consequences ALWAYS follow sin, just like blessings ALWAYS follow obedience. Will God forgive you if you repent and are serious? Yes. However, that does not stop whatever consequences there may be from your sin. As I share with you often, sin costs. It costs much more than you ever expected to pay. So yes, God will forgive you when ask Him, but what you are doing by sinning is opening up your life to whatever consequences there may be from your sin.

Why not live however you want and simply accept Christ right before you die? This is what I call “salvation roulette.” Can a person live their life in complete rebellion to God and His word, and then right before they die accept Christ and be saved and spend eternity in Heaven? ABSOLUTELY! That thief on the cross lived his life without Christ and it was with his last breaths that he came to know Jesus. Some may think this is a great plan. Live your life however you want and in those last moments accept Christ and God’s free gift of everlasting life with Him. Only one problem. You may never get that chance!

How many people die instantly in a car accident or some other accident? How many people die of a heart attack or suffer some other health issue where they are incapacitated? People die daily as victims of crime, in natural disasters, in every way imaginable. Those people never had the opportunity to accept Christ in their last breath and if they were living their lives apart from Him, are separated from God their Creator for all eternity. No my friend, you are playing with your eternal soul when you take on the mindset that you will simply live your life your way and right before you die accept Jesus.

Now many people who love the Lord and do their very best to follow Him each day, get enraged when they see people living a life of debauchery and in their last moments accept Jesus. They feel like they have been “cheated” in some way. This is exactly what happened to the brother of the Prodigal Son. He became infuriated with his father that his brother, who chose to live in complete rebellion to his father, was given royal treatment when he returned home. He felt like he got cheated, like it wasn’t fair.

First, never forget, NONE of us are worthy of God’s love or His promise of everlasting life. NONE OF US! We are all saved by faith and GOD’S GRACE, His unmerited favor that we did nothing to earn. As I stated earlier, consequences follow sin and blessings follow obedience. The person who lived their life apart from God has had to suffer the consequences of their rebellion throughout their life. Without the Lord they never knew the peace, the joy, the abundance that this life offers. Their rebellion kept them from fully achieving God’s plan and purpose for their life. Sadly, their rebellion throughout their life kept them from knowing the fullness of God’s love.

The person who does follow the Lord throughout their life has enjoyed God’s blessings, even in the midst of the trials and tribulations we all face in this world. That person has lived knowing God’s love as well as His peace, His joy, and enjoyed the abundant life Christ spoke of. The person who follows Christ in their life also has the blessing of allowing God to use their life for His plan and purpose. Never forget, serving and glorifying the Lord is our purpose in this life. I can assure you that a person who follows Christ throughout their life enjoys a full and rich journey that those without Christ will never know.

I love you and care about you so much. So many people are deceived by satan into thinking that they can simply sin against God and than go ask Him to forgive them. The fact is, they can. What satan conveniently forgets to tell you is that you now have to pay a price for that sin. Oh yes, God WILL forgive you, but that does not stop you from having to deal with the consequences of your sin. You can’t sin and not pay a price and often that price is so much greater than you ever imagined it would be.

The other lie of satan so many buy into is that you can live your life however you want and at the last moment, accept Jesus and God’s free gift of everlasting life. The fact is, you can. However, you are playing games with your everlasting soul since you may never have the opportunity to confess Christ as your Savior and you will die in your sin and be lost for all eternity. That is why the Bible proclaims, “Today is the day of salvation.” Even if you do have the opportunity to accept Christ at the very end, you have sadly forfeited the peace, the joy, and abundance this life can offer by not having Christ in your life earlier. In essence, your life has been wasted.

I will be praying for you today. Praying that you will not fall for either of these lies of satan. Satan wants to destroy you, God wants you to have the very best. Destruction comes when you listen to and follow satan, blessings come when you listen to and follow Jesus. Jesus said, “If you love me you will obey me.” We prove our lives for Christ through our obedience, faithfully serving and following Him every day. Instead of looking for ways to sin, and live in rebellion to God, look for ways to serve Him and bring glory to His name in how you live your lives each day.

In His love and service,
Your friend and brother in Christ,
Bill Keller
