I have a Birth Certificate and if You were Born in the USA You Do Too

(Job 24:16; Psalms 90:8; Ephesians 5:12)

I have a birth certificate. If you were born in the United States, you do too, or you can get one. Why can’t the leader of the free world, the President of the United States, produce his birth certificate??? The White House and the media have done a masterful job at painting anyone who asks this legitimate question as a whackjob, a conspiracy nutcase, someone who has lost their mind. The fact is, even FOX News, most every conservative radio host who makes their living hammering King Obama, are too afraid to talk about this issue.

Let me cut through all of the hype and break this down for you. It is actually a very simple issue anyone can understand. To be the President of the United States, you must be born in this country. Anyone born in the United States can get a birth certificate that details all of the pertinent information surrounding his or her birth. Everyone who is reading this today
who was born in the United States either has a birth certificate or you can get one. Understanding that, why does President Obama refuse to produce his birth certificate?

Over the past year, there have been hundreds of legal challenges to whether President Obama was actually born in the United States or in Kenya, making him ineligible to be our President. What initially caught my attention was the fact that the Obama Presidential Campaign, and now the Obama Administration, has spent well over a million dollars fighting these legal challenges to his eligibility. Why would you spend $1 when the whole issue can be settled by simply producing your birth certificate????

I am not going to take time to go into all of the legal challenges or recount the incredible amount of time and effort many people have spent on this issue. My friend Joe Farrah of WorldNetDaily has been the leader in the reporting and investigation of this issue. You can go to http://www.wnd.com and find dozens of articles on this issue, where investigative reporters have been to Kenya, been to the hospitals in Hawaii, and have been blocked by Obama’s people at every turn.

The bottom line is that years ago when President Obama ran for the Senate, he produced a short form “Certificate of Live Birth” that at the time was never challenged. This is NOT an actual birth certificate, but a document anyone can get, even if they were born in a foreign country. His actual long-form birth certificate is the document anyone born in the United States has and can produce, and the document Obama has REFUSED to provide. The link below give you a very good description of the difference between the two documents.

The Bible has much to say about secrets, secret sins, and my whole reason for dealing with this today is from the stand point that those things you do in secret, will one day be seen in the light of day. That goes for me, you, and even the President! My heart is breaking this morning, because I know that many who read these words this morning are hurting because of secret sins in your life. To those in your life, everything looks wonderful. Many envy you. Most see you as a person who is strong in the Lord and a pillar of faith. You are a business person, a mom, dad, son, daughter, or pastor. You serve God in many ways. You love God. You have put your faith in Christ.

But there is sin in your life. Secret sin. Sin nobody else sees. Sin that possibly has been part of your life for many, many years. Sin that you have swept into a back closet so nobody else would know about it. SIN THAT IS KEEPING YOU FROM THE JOY, PEACE, AND ABUNDANCE THAT GOD HAS PROMISED FOR YOUR LIFE.

What is this sin? For each person that is different. For some it is alcohol. The two beers each night, the scotch after work, have become so much a part of your life that even though you are not classified as an alcoholic, you know and God knows, that you HAVE to have it. THAT is a problem. Some of you woke up this morning after not sleeping well because you are deeply involved in gambling. Possibly you owe a local bookie for sports bets. Or maybe it is those lottery tickets you HAVE to buy each day. Or maybe it is the local casino down the road that you just can’t stay out of. Just as bad are those who play the markets each day, not investing for the future, but looking for the daily “hit.”

Others of you are dealing with sexual sins. Pornography is the easiest since it can be just you and your movies, or magazines, or computer. Possibly you have evolved past the solo stage and it involves other people. Still others of you are secretly involved in drugs, legal and illegal. Actually, those who use prescribed drugs to get that “high” outside of the medicinal purposes it was designed for, is a MUCH larger problem than the more publicized illegal drug problem. However, that is a multi-billion dollar a year industry so SOMEBODY is buying all that cocaine, pot, heroin, meth, ecstasy, and the rest. Still others of you are involved in the sin of greed. Making money is more than just a way to support yourself and family, it is an obsession. Money is your drug of choice. And of course, there are a multitude of other sins people are secretly involved in.

You see my friend, the Bible says that the enemy comes to kill, steal, and destroy. That verse is talking about believers. How does that happen? We know that if we give our lives to Christ by faith we are saved. The enemy can’t have our souls. But he can destroy us from being the productive servants God has called us to be. The easiest way to do that is to get us trapped in sin. Sin is like cancer. It starts out almost innocently. But it grows and spreads. Very few who are involved in gambling, don’t drink. Very few involved in drugs are not involved in sexual sins. Very few are tied to just one secret sin.

As a matter of fact, once you let sin into your life, and practice sin, it opens the door for other sins. You see, at some point it doesn’t matter any longer. The great justifier satan says, “Oh well, you already are this deep, what harm could a little more sin do?” This my friend is the trap. It is like quicksand. You get in, and get deeper, and deeper, and deeper, and getting out becomes harder, and harder.

I realize that this word today has made some turn their computer off, some have hit the delete button, and others are sitting right now in tears. You see, the Holy Spirit is talking to YOU! God is speaking to you this moment louder than He could if he were on a public address system at a stadium. He is talking to YOU and saying READ THIS . . . THIS IS YOU!!! The Prodigal Son came from a Godly, good home. I think when he went out, he was a good person. I think like many brothers and sisters in Christ, he simply allowed sin to enter into his life, and it ate him up to the point of near destruction. But in the end, he knew when he hit the bottom, there was only one place to go . . . HOME to his father!

Were there consequences for his sin? YES! His inheritance was gone, he suffered the damage of the horrible experiences he encountered. He probably had some health issues. But the point was, when he “came to himself” he went home! MY WORD FOR YOU TODAY IS THAT GOD LOVES YOU. GOD CARES ABOUT YOU. NO AMOUNT OF SIN CAN EVER STOP HIM FROM LOVING YOU. READ 1 JOHN 1:9. YOU DON’T HAVE TO CONTINUE IN YOUR SIN, BUT YOU CAN STOP TODAY AND LET GOD HELP YOU. THE CHOICE IS YOURS. AT THE END OF THE ROAD YOU ARE ON IS DESTRUCTION. GOD IS THE FLAG MAN WITH THE ORANGE VEST SAYING . . . STOP NOW!!!!

I love you and care about you so much. I don’t know what if anything will come of the fact President Obama has refused to produce his birth certificate.
If he was born here, I can’t understand why it is an issue. I do know that over time, God will sort it out. I know that many of you are hurting today because of secret sin. I wish I was able to help make it all okay by snapping my fingers. I would but that is not reality. Sin didn’t start overnight, didn’t occur overnight, and the effects of sin won’t go away overnight. As a matter of fact, they will be with you the rest of your life. Sadly, that is one of sin’s by-products. But you can have victory over sin today! Today can be the first day of victory over sin in your life. But the first step MUST BE YOURS!!!

Here is some practical advice for you to follow if you really want victory. You are in a battle. To win a battle, you must have a battle plan. Pray, sit down and let God give you a plan that you can faithfully work each day. Then, you need someone you can be accountable to on a daily basis. You can’t win this fight alone, you need someone to stand with you, and to hold you accountable. Lastly, you need the strength you can only get from God. That comes from your daily relationship through prayer and the Word, from being in church, from finding ways to serve the Lord. All of this working together will help you overcome this battle and see victory.

I will be praying for you today. There is victory in this life, victory for Jesus. The biggest trap we as Christians must avoid are those secret sins that will eat away at us from the inside. Destroy us from the inside. Make us virtually useless in serving God. Never forget, our purpose in this life is to serve and glorify Him with our lives. The easiest way for the enemy to stop us from fulfilling that purpose is to get us entangled in sin in our lives. We can live FREE from sin if we choose to. That is what God is calling you to do today. Turn from your secret sin, and turn fully, 100% to Him.

Again, know that I am praying for you. I can’t do this for you, YOU have to do it. But know that I am here praying for you, standing with you for victory over the sin in your life. God will strengthen you, embolden you, and help you see victory. The first step, however, is yours. The prodigal son had to go home before he could get victory. Bury your pride since God already knows the full story, and go to Him today. My prayers are with you.

Your friend and brother in Christ,
Bill Keller

The Bible Teaches us that to Obey is Better Than Sacrifice

(1 Samuel 15:22)

The Bible teaches us that to “obey is better than sacrifice”. What an incredible truth this verse is for our day-to-day lives. It supports the verses of Ephesians 2:8 and 9 that tells us that our salvation is by faith and NOT of works. While God is concerned about what we do with our lives, the fruit that we can produce for the Kingdom from our efforts, He is first and foremost concerned with our obedience. You see, our obedience flows from a heart that is yielded to Him, a life that is surrendered to do HIS will and not OUR will.

This very day, you will have a chance to obey or rebel against God. In reality, during the course of any given day, there are many opportunities that we consciously choose to obey or rebel against God. But I want to focus on the very next decision that you have to make after reading these words.

IT IS NO ACCIDENT THAT GOD HAS ALLOWED YOU TO READ THESE WORDS. GOD IS PREPARING YOU FOR THE VERY NEXT DECISION THAT YOU WILL MAKE WHERE YOU CAN EITHER OBEY HIM, OR NOT.

The life of King Saul is a very sad commentary of someone that God anointed in a great way, but who chose to rebel against God. King Saul lived with the same free will that God gives to all of us. He had to make choices each day to obey or rebel against God. Sadly, there are ALWAYS consequences for our rebellion. These consequences come in many forms, but there is always a price to pay when we choose not to obey God.

Likewise, blessings will always follow our obedience to God. The greatest blessing of all is the peace that passes all human understanding we receive when we are living our lives the way God has asked us to. When we are living for Him, making choices that honor God, there is a peace and joy that you could never put a price on.

I love you and care about you so much. Today’s Devotional is a special warning for you to be aware of the choices that you will make today. You will have many opportunities today to choose to obey God, or to rebel against God. I will be praying that you will make the choice to obey God, to set aside your will and your desires for His will and His desires. Jesus promised His followers a life of abundance.

That abundance comes from living a life pleasing and acceptable to God. God loves us so very much. Like any parent, He only wants the best for us. When He asks us to obey Him, it is not for HIS good, but for OUR good.

In the Old Testament, many of God’s children were quick to offer up sacrifices to Him, yet their hearts were far away from Him. They honored Him with their lips, but God saw their hearts. We obey God out of our love for Him. All of our good works and our good deeds have little meaning to God, if our hearts are not right. When we have surrendered our lives to Him, it is our DESIRE to love Him and show Him that love through our obedience.

We can tell our mother or father how much we love them. But we SHOW that love through our obedience. God is the same way. We can sing praises to Him and do great works in His name, but it is our obedience that shows God how deep our love for Him really is.

As you go through the rest of this day, remember these words . . .

TO OBEY IS BETTER THAN SACRIFICE.

You will be making a choice very shortly, in which you can obey God or rebel against Him. Show God how much you love Him today, and OBEY.

In His love and service,
Your friend and brother in Christ,
Bill Keller

Today is the Day the World Celebrates Father’s Day

(Ephesians 6:4)

Today is the day the world celebrates Father’s Day. In our busy lives, it is good that we are forced to take a moment and recognize our dads. I had a wonderful father who unfortunately passed away when I was 16. Even though I missed sharing those young adult years with my dad, it was his love and nurturing in the early years of my life that helped build the spiritual foundation in my life. After praying about today’s Devotional, the Lord has directed me to use it as a special encouragement to the dads out there.

How often do we take what dad does for granted? There are Godly men out there who are the spiritual heads of their homes. They work hard to provide the income needed to sustain day to day life. They love and honor their wife. They realize their children are gifts from God and help nurture and mold their lives. These dads realize that serving God is their divine purpose and being the head of their home is their first and most important ministry.

Today is a day to make sure dad knows just how much we love and appreciate him.

For those dads out there that are working hard to be the kind of dad I just described, know that you are in my prayers. Know that each day as you spend that special time alone with the Lord, He will encourage you, prepare you, and make you adequate for that day. You are on the path God wants you to be on as you strive each day to serve Him, making your wife and children your number one priorities. Balance is one of the biggest hurdles you face each day, and I pray the Lord will help you find that perfect balance between work, home, serving Him, and relaxing.

The other big hurdle is being able to give God control. Having so much responsibility each day, letting go and really trusting God at certain time is not easy. Just remember, in John 15:5 it says, “Without me you can do nothing.” God has given you great talents, great gifts, but without the Lord ‘s strength, and He being in charge, it won’t make any difference. Make your faith real as you learn to trust Him more each day.

I recognize today that there are also many dads who aren’t the kind of dad I described. Unless someone is totally committed and surrendered to the Lord, overseeing the responsibilities of marriage and children often suffer. Without the Lord leading your life, getting caught up in all of the traps of this world happen frequently, and life really never makes much sense. The importance of being a husband or a father, doesn’t have the significance that it should. That is why so many men have left the home, abandoned their children, and continually are caught up in every kind of sin imaginable.

To those dads I want you to know that if you are tired of running from God, tired of the pain, tired of the heartache, tired of nothing working . . . this is the perfect day to turn it all around. Even though, this is a day we celebrate our earthly fathers, there is a Heavenly Father who loves you so much, and if you call out to Him, He will help you straighten your life out.

For those wives, ex-wives, and children of dads who haven’t been the Godly dad the Bible talks of, pray for your dad. Know that deep down he is hurting, and only surrendering to Christ will change that. God loves your dad more than you do, and He is the one who can change your dad’s heart. I’ ll pray with you for your dad.

I want you to know that I love you and do care about you. For you dads out there today, let me encourage you by telling you . . . if you keep Jesus first in your life, He will help you overcome the trials of this life, and allow you to see victories in every area of your life. In your marriage, in your children, in your career, in your service for Him….if you will simply trust Him and operate in His strength, you will know blessings and joy above and beyond anything you ever imagined.

Please know that I will be praying for you today, and if you need any special prayer to be the man, the husband, the father, the servant God has called you to be….please don’t hesitate to email me at:
bkeller@liveprayer.com. God has given us many great examples of how to be a true father. Follow Him each day and He will mold you and make you into the father He has raised you up to be.

Does God Really Have a Plan and Purpose for Your Life

(Acts 26:16-18)

One of the most asked questions I get each day is “does God really have a plan and purpose for my life?” Let me assure you that there are no accidents, no coincidences with God. The One who created the universe and everything in it, did not just create us in His image to drift from birth to death with no purpose. Those who understand science will tell you that the incredible perfection of creation could never have happened by “chance.”

Years ago, a dear friend of mine who came to know Christ because of the irrefutable evidence we have from science, told me that the creation of the universe and the incredible precision it takes to operate properly could have never “just happened by accident.” He said it would be the equivalent of taking an expensive, finely tuned Swiss watch apart, throwing in the air the thousands of pieces that make up the watch, and having it land with every piece in its place and the watch working perfectly.

My friend, the universe did not just happen, God created it. You did not just happen, God created you. God did not just create all of this because He was bored, there is a Divine plan and purpose for everything, including your life!

The scripture today is God revealing to Paul the plan He had for his life. Most of us will never have a Damascus Road experience where God audibly calls down to us and gives us the exact plan for our life. However, as we are surrendered to His will, He will move us, position us, exactly where He wants us. He will open and close doors to guide us where He wants us to be.

As you are surrendered to Him and His plan, there are no accidents where you live, work, go to school, or recreate. It is not an accident who your neighbors are or the people that are in your life. God strategically places us where He wants us to be, as His instruments, so we can do our part in fulfilling His master plan.

The key that you need to hear today is you must be surrendered to Him. If we rebel against God, if we don’t listen to Him, if we do it our way and not His way, then His plan for our life will never be fulfilled. That is the choice we have to make each day. To live life our way, or His way.

When we choose our way, we can try, try, and try, and life never seems to work out. We may be successful in one area, but miserable in others. You see, when we do it God’s way, He takes into consideration ALL areas of our life. Our work, finances, relationships, health, service to Him, recreation, He has every area of our life taken care of.

That is why some people you see may have a great plan for their finances and be very successful by the world’s standards, but totally fail in their marriage or as a parent. Or some may have a great homelife but are always struggling in their career. The point is, when you are doing it your way, there is a fatal flaw, it is your plan, not His.

I love you and care about you so much. I will be praying for you to fully surrender your life each day to God. Surrendering to Him is the key to finding God’s plan and purpose for your life. TRUST HIM! He will never let you down, He will never disappoint you, just love you and bless you each day. God has a perfect plan and purpose for your life!

In His love and service,
Your friend and brother in Christ,
Bill Keller

I Want to ENCOURAGE YOU Today

(Romans 8:28, Galatians 6:9)

I want to ENCOURAGE YOU today! I don’t know exactly what you are facing in your life this moment, I don’t know what your problems are, what trials and tribulations you are experiencing in your life right now. But I do know this, everyone reading these words today is going though something. No matter what it is, I want to give you a message right from the throne room of God…DON’T GIVE UP!!!

I am not going to tell you that all of your problems will be solved by the time you go to bed tonight, chances are they won’t. I am not going to tell you that everything will work out exactly the way you want it to, chances are they won’t. I am going to tell you, however, that God will provide the answers to whatever your problems may be. I am going to tell you, however, that God will work everything out. God promised us in His Word, “…and we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

God told me to tell you today…DON’T GIVE UP!

If you are battling with an illness in your body today…DON’T GIVE UP! If you are battling with your finances today…DON’T GIVE UP! If you are battling with your marriage today…DON’T GIVE UP! If you are you are battling with your employment or schooling today…DON’T GIVE UP! If you are battling with your children today…DON’T GIVE UP! If you are battling with an addiction today…DON’T GIVE UP! NO MATTER WHAT YOUR BATTLE IS TODAY…DON’T GIVE UP!

My friend, God loves you. He knows what you are going through in your life today. He has not abandoned you, He has not forsaken you. In your darkest hour you can be assured that God is right there with you. When everyone else has turned their back on you, when everyone else has run away, when nobody is left to stand with you…GOD IS STILL THERE! On the night He was betrayed, Jesus saw His disciples run from Him, deny even knowing Him, yet He was never alone because God was with Him. Even when those you love the most leave you, Jesus is there because He promised to “never leave you nor forsake you.”

God told me to tell you today…DON’T GIVE UP!

I love you and care about you so much. I want you to know that I am standing in the gap for YOU today. I am standing with you and believing God for your needs to be met. You may not see your answer today, or tomorrow, or next week, or next month, or even next year. God’s timing is not our timing, but God’s timing is always perfect. He is never a second too early, or a second too late. DON’T GIVE UP!

The children of Israel would have never seen the Promised Land had Moses given up. He wandered in the desert for forty years…FORTY YEARS! If God leaves us in the desert for forty minutes we are complaining! We can learn from Moses today that no matter what we are going though in our life, if we will continue to trust God, keep our faith in the Lord regardless what the circumstances may be, He will deliver us and meet our every need. The key however, is that you DON’T GIVE UP!

I will be praying for you today. Praying that the Lord will give you His peace no matter what you may be facing in your life at this moment. Praying that God will give you His strength today. Paul wrote to the church at Galatia to “…not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” As you wait on God to answer your prayers, to meet your needs, continue to be faithful. Remember that as we are about our Father’s business, He will be about our business!

God is saying to you that no matter what you are going through today…DON’T GIVE UP!!!

“Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.” (1 Corinthians 15:58)

The Bible is Full of Admonitions to Love Your Brother and Others

(1 John 4:21, 2:10; 1 Thessalonians 4:9; Matthew 25:25)

The Bible is full of admonitions to love your brother, to love others. What an incredible way to show your love to someone that you never even met in this lifetime, than by donating your organs and giving the gift of life! What does God say about this? Obviously, there are no passages of scripture that speaks directly for or against donating your organs after you die. So as is often the case, we need to take the whole counsel of God into consideration in looking at this issue.

Our bodies serve two purposes during this life. They are the clay shells that we occupy during our brief journey, and for the believer, they become the temple of the Holy Spirit during this life. The Bible is quite clear that when this life is over, it is our soul that lives on for eternity and our bodies will return to the “dust of the earth” as God mandated. Our bodies serve no further purpose once we are dead.

Many ask about the “body” we will have after death. Scripture is clear that whatever body we will have will be a glorified body. Many people have their bodies destroyed in death. Whether you choose to be buried or cremated, your body will be destroyed. In cremation it is burned, in burial it slowly decomposes until it is nothing more than dust. So the body we will possess post-death will be a glorified body.

Since our bodies serve no further purpose once we are dead, it simply becomes an issue for each person to decide how they will have their bodies disposed of. This means that before you are buried or cremated, donating your organs simply comes down to a choice each person has to make. If your organs are healthy and able to be used by someone else, there is really no good reason NOT to donate them. The reality is, you are dead and you won’t need them any longer.

What a great way to show love for someone than by literally giving of yourself so that they can continue to live. God clearly calls us to love one another, to serve others. Donating your organs is an incredible act of love and service.

I love you and care about you so much. I will be praying for you today that you will seriously pray about this special act of love. God gives us many opportunities in our life to serve others. This is the last act of service that we can perform, one that can literally save the life of someone else. Remember this, all that we have is from God and is simply on loan to us during this brief journey. That includes our organs. I pray today that you will seriously consider donating your organs once you die and give the gift of life.

In His love and service,
Your friend and brother in Christ,
Bill Keller

Relationships between a Man and Woman are Not A Game

(Matthew 22:29; 2 Corinthians 3:15; Genesis 2:24)

My heart has been breaking this morning. Out of my brokenness, I write these words this morning, praying as I write, that they may find their way into the hearts and lives of those out there who are not married, that they will read these words and live by them. I may ramble a bit today, and may get off on a few tangents, but I am so consumed with concern, especially for our young adults.

Let me say this to start. Relationships between a man and woman are NOT a game! It is serious, life-changing business. I get flooded with emails every time I mention about young adults waiting until after high school to date. They pour in from young men and women, 13, 14, 15, 16 years old who tell me that I don’t know what I am talking about. They are in “love.” You are playing a game that you have NO BUSINESS playing, a game that could very easily change your very life before you have even had a chance to start living it!!!

Getting involved in a relationship unlocks our emotions. It sets off things inside of us that have incredible power over us to the extent we don’t act or think rationally. We become consumed. Mature, experienced people in their 20’s, 30’s, 40’s and 50’s often destroy their very lives by letting these emotions rule them. What chance then, does an inexperienced teen have? None! The results of these teen romances range from hurt feelings, all the way to death, and everything in between.

I get emails daily from young adults who have diseases they will carry with them the rest of their life, have had children that obviously dramatically altered their life, as well as those who made the unfortunate choice to have an abortion and are now dealing with the consequences of that choice. I get emails daily from young men and women who have broken up and are contemplating suicide, can’t eat or sleep, or simply have no desire to do anything.

The fact is, God gave you free will to make choices. Let me simply tell you, to choose to enter into a serious boyfriend/girlfriend relationship until you are out of high school is a BAD CHOICE and can dramatically change your life forever. ***By the way, there is nothing magic about being out of High School. It is simply one major “life hurdle” out of the way that is part of the foundation of your life. There is PLENTY of time after High School to start dating.

Even though this is not even a debatable issue, because it is such a problem let me quickly address it. There is absolutely NO situation when sex outside of marriage is acceptable to God. NONE. ZERO. There is a Biblical word fornication. It literally means any sex outside of marriage and is a sin. I get emails all the time asking how far can you go? Jesus said if you lust in your heart you have already committed adultery. If you have to ask how far you can go, you are already too far. Once you allow lust into your heart, God says you have already sinned. Let that be your standard to judge by since it is impossible to engage in ANY act that wasn’t already birthed in your heart. The physical act is simply the manifestation of the sin already committed in your heart.

Having said that, let me talk to you about the two most important elements of a relationship should you be thinking of marriage. The first is God’s warning found in 2 Corinthians 6:14 to NOT BE UNEQUALLY YOKED. I have done entire Devotionals on this issue. It is a warning from God to protect you. Choosing to ignore this warning is no different than deciding to run a stop sign. You are asking for serious problems. I can not even begin to tell you how many emails I get daily from men and women who ignored this warning and are now dealing with the consequences. Consequences by the way that have literally changed their life.

The second is the foundation on which you build your relationship on. If you do not have a spiritual foundation to your relationship, how can you expect your marriage to survive the storms that come in every relationship? It is exactly like the story Jesus told at the end of Matthew chapter 7. The marriage built on a spiritual foundation is like the house built on a rock. The marriage built on any other foundation is like the house built on the sand. My friend, again let me reiterate. God gave everyone free will to make choices. You can do what you want with your life. My only purpose today is to help you make wise, informed choices about things that will affect the outcome of your life.

I love you and care about you so much. I can’t even begin to tell you how my heart is broken today, reading email after email of how people’s lives have been decimated by broken marriages. The fact is, so much of the heartache, pain, and tragedy many have lived through could have been avoided if they had simply listened to God. When you are having relationships without even understanding what is going on in the world, when you are engaging in sex outside of marriage, when you get married to someone who is not even a believer, when the foundation of your marriage is built on looks, sex, money, or anything other than the Lord…you are simply NEVER going to know the peace, joy, and abundance that this life can offer. .

Is it than a guarantee that if you wait until after high school to start dating, find a spouse who is saved and living for the Lord, build a spiritual foundation together, that your marriage will not end in divorce? No! Sin can creep into people’s lives and satan loves nothing more than to destroy a marriage. But I can promise you that the odds of you making it are 1,000 times better.

I deeply apologize for the unusual harsh tone of today’s Devotional. But anyone reading these words that is not married, no matter how old you are, doesn’t need these issues sugar coated. Your life is at stake. I guarantee you many of the people who email me daily would tell you if they could, to not jump in so quick, listen to God. Not listening can ruin your life. I know the high price of rebellion in this area. I left my mother’s house mid-way through college, moved in with my girlfriend, and justified it all by saying, “well, we are going to get married”. We did after 9 months, and 2 years later we were divorced! These types of mistakes follow you the rest of your life.

The other problem is, so many of God’s children end up battling with the domestic issues, they are of little service to the Lord. Never forget, that is our purpose in this life, to serve and glorify Him with our lives. The enemy gets us so distracted handling the consequences of our rebellion, that we have little time or energy left to serve Him.

Please read, and re-read these words today. Commit them to your heart. I realize how strong emotions can be, and how they can cloud your judgment. That is why the more focused you are on what God’s plan is, the less chance you will have of compromising and getting into trouble. The bottom line to these words today is this. Do it your way, and it never works out. You will never totally know the peace, joy and abundance this life can offer. Do it God’s way, and it works. Life is NOT something to dread, but something to embrace and enjoy. The choice of what type of life you will have is yours. I will be praying as you choose God’s way and know the great blessings this life can offer.

In His love and service,
Your friend and brother in Christ,
Bill Keller
