Feminists and Liberal Theologians State that the Bible is Anti-Woman

(Genesis 2:15, 3:19; Proverbs 13:4; Genesis 1:27; Galatians 3:28)

I have no doubt that this will be one of the more unpopular Devotionals I have ever written, but it is a message that is long overdue. I am always amused at the feminists and liberal theologians that state the Bible is anti-woman and that Paul was a male chauvinist. Nobody who understands God’s Word would make such a foolish claim since nothing could be further from the truth. The Bible is very much PRO woman and clearly teaches that God made men and women 100% equal with separate roles to play. Paul, in teaching equality between men and women, was a pioneer for women’s rights in a day when women were viewed as little more than property. One of the roles God has called men to play is that of a leader, a role many men have failed to live up to.

Out of the rebellion in the ’60s came the women’s movement. Satan is a liar, and the lie he told to women was that they needed to be equal with men. But if you read and study God’s Word, the TRUTH, you realize that according to God a woman is already equal to a man. Men and women are 100% equal, they simply have different roles to play. Sadly, women bought this lie and for what little strides there may have been in regard to women getting a few more dollars for their work, the long-term consequences have been disastrous for women, men, children, and society as a whole.

Two generations later the results are men and women living totally outside of the roles God intended for them to have, neither really being sure any longer what those roles even are. Let me be so bold to say that we now have the largest percentage of 2 generations of men who are spineless, gutless, confused, and lost. They fail to lead in their marriage. They fail to lead in their homes. They fail to lead in their careers. They are not the leaders God has called them to be, simply followers. Worst of all, they are not the priests of their homes, having failed in this most important role God has called them to play.

To fill the void left by men failing to perform their God-ordained roles, women have had to take on roles God never intended them to have. One of those roles is a woman working outside of the home to provide for the family. The lie of the world is that women have to go out and work. The sad reality in the year 2009 is that many men expect their wives to work and earn a certain amount of money. Let me break this down for you men, YOU, NOT YOUR WIFE, ARE SUPPOSED TO SUPPORT YOUR FAMILY! This is not demeaning women or their abilities in any way. It is not a matter of if a woman can do the same job as a man, but the fact God never intended for them to do the same job as a man! God gave a woman the most important job of all and that is raising your children in the admonition of the Lord. No matter what else you may do in your life, that is the number one job and ministry a woman will ever have!!!

Listen, I am well aware of the argument that both spouses have to work. The reality is, economics have not changed since the days not that long ago when most women did not work. It is our desires for the things of this world that have changed. God’s plan is for men to work and support their family and women to raise the children with the help and support of their husbands. If you don’t have children, there is nothing wrong with working, but the husband is still supposed to be the primary source of support in the home. Obviously, single moms, single women, and those whose husbands are unable to work, are in special situations where you have no other choice but to work. Know that God will give you the favor, strength, and ability to provide for your family.

Women, let me give you a quick word of counsel. This is why I share so often that marriage is not something to enter into lightly. Please don’t rush into marriage! It is a lifetime commitment. Heed God’s warning about being unequally yoked. Take the time to build a spiritual foundation together. Make sure that the man you are praying about spending the rest of your life with, is a man of God who is following God’s Word and willing to perform the roles God has called him to play. Like I say so often, our way doesn’t work and only brings consequences, God’s way works and brings blessings.

The encouraging thing is every day I get prayer requests from husbands and wives who are restructuring their lives and finances so that the wife can stay at home with the children. There has been a big move in this direction the past few years as women are going back to their natural, God-given roles of being a mother and wife above everything else. This is also forcing men to perform their God-given role as the provider for their family. For you parents out there praying about doing this, let me encourage you that God will give you the wisdom and favor to restructure your lives and finances so that you can stay home with your children. God will always honor us and help us to follow His plan for our lives.

I love you and care about you so much. I am praying today, especially for the men out there that this will be a wake up call that God has called you to be a leader. You do not have the option of passing on this role God has called you to play if you want to be the man He has raised you up to be. God has called you to protect and provide for your family. God has called you to be the priest of your home and be the spiritual leader of your wife and children. I pray, today, that you will take these roles seriously and ask God to help you fulfill them to the best of your ability.

The biggest problem we have in our world today is the breakdown of the family. It is God’s foundation for society. When the family works, society works. When the family breaks down, society breaks down. We can see clearly that the breakdown of our culture in 2009 can be directly tied to the breakdown of the family. There are many factors that have caused this, but first and foremost it is a spiritual issue and the blame has to start with men for failing to be the leaders God has called them to be.

MEN: NOW IS THE TIME TO RISE UP AND BE COUNTED. NO LONGER CAN WE SIT BACK AND ALLOW THE WORLD TO DICTATE OUR ROLES, BUT WE MUST BOLDLY FOLLOW GOD’S WORD AND HIS PLAN FOR OUR LIVES. NOW MORE THAN EVER OUR WIVES NEED US. NOW MORE THAN EVER OUR CHILDREN NEED US. NOW MORE THAN EVER OUR NATION NEEDS US. NOW MORE THAN EVER OUR LORD NEEDS US TO RISE UP AND BE THE MEN GOD HAS CALLED US TO BE! IT IS TIME FOR MEN TO LEAD!!!

There is a great hymn of the faith, “Rise Up O Men Of God.” Let me leave you today with the last verse of that hymn and let it be YOUR song for today and tomorrow! “Lift high the cross of Christ! Tread where His feet have trod. As brothers of the Son of Man, Rise up, O men of God!”

In His love and service,
Your friend and brother in Christ,
Bill Keller

Nobody Would Argue that in the Year 2009 the U.S. is a Highly Materialistic Society

(2 Corinthians 4:18)

Nobody would even try to argue that in the year 2009, the United States is a highly materialistic society. We have taken materialism to unprecedented levels over the last 50 years. The Bible has much to say about the “temporal things of this world.” The temporal things of this world are the material things of this life that not only come and go, but will be meaningless when this brief journey is over. Nothing drives home the truth of God’s Word about how fleeting the temporal things of this world are better than a natural disaster like Hurricane Katrina or the current economic crisis that has seen so many lose large amounts of money as well as homes and other possessions.

Sadly, many have taken for granted not only the most basic material needs of life, but so many people act like they must have every material thing this world produces. We get so focused on acquiring “things,” on having the most current “thing,” that we lose sight of the fact that these material “things” of this world come and go. They are here today and gone tomorrow. In our drive to have the temporal things of this world, we end up paying very little attention to the eternal things of God.

Every day here at Liveprayer we deal with people who have “lost everything.” Each day I deal with people who have lost ALL of the material possessions they owned overnight through natural disasters like hurricanes, tornadoes, and floods, to tragic events like house fires, to being burglarized, to a divorce where a spouse take everything. It is at those moments in life that a person realizes what really is important, what really matters. It is at those moments in life a person realizes that the temporary things of this world can come and go, but the relationship we have with the Lord is the only thing we can always count on being there.

Let me ask you a question. Is there something in this world that you love more than the Lord? I have no doubt some people will pause as they think of the love they have for their spouse, for their parents, for their children. As much as we may love those special people God blesses us with during our brief journey through life, our love for Christ MUST always be first. This is a truth most people are able to understand and accept.

More to the point however, is there some THING in this world that you love more than the Lord? We say we love Christ, we say Christ is first in our life, but is He really? Let me be a bit more specific. Is Christ first in your life, ahead of your career? Is Christ first in your life, ahead of your hobbies and special interests? Is Christ first in your life, ahead of your “things!” Be careful now, we know what the RIGHT answers to these questions are, but are they the TRUE answers?

Even though I know you don’t want to, let’s go a bit deeper. Does your work or career take priority over the Lord in your normal day-to-day life? Do you invest as much time each week into the Lord as you do your hobbies and special interests? Do you invest as much time each week into the Lord as you do the temporal things of this world that will one day be meaningless? One of the profound statements Jesus made was, “for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Since that is a great measuring stick of where our heart is, how much of your treasure goes to the Lord as opposed to the pleasures of this world?

Listen, PLEASE do not misunderstand what my message to you today is. I am NOT saying that your career is not important. After all, it was God who gave you the gifts and talents you have to be successful in your career, it was God who opened the doors for you to be where you are at, and it is God who gives you favor and blessings each day in your career. I am also NOT saying that your hobbies and special interests are not important. Again, it was God who gave you the desires and passions for the things you enjoy in this life. Nor am I saying you should not use some of the resources God has entrusted to you to enjoy the abundance of this life.

What I AM saying is that we have to take inventory of our life from time to time and ensure that we are keeping Christ first at all times, in all things. We can fall into patterns at times and slowly ease the Lord out of our day-to-day life. Not consciously, but often without even realizing it put other things in our life ahead of Him. This is a subtle trap of the enemy since once the Lord is no longer first in your life, you are wide open to be attacked. This becomes an open door for satan to enter your life and harm you.

I love you and care about you so much. It is out of that love that I am sending you this warning today. Simply take a moment and ask yourself the tough questions in regard to where Christ fits in your life. Is He first in ALL areas of your life? Don’t play games with yourself, since this is for YOUR benefit, not the Lord’s. This is to protect YOU from giving the enemy any room to operate in your life. It is critical to never lose sight of what is truly important to us. The things of this world that will one day pass away, or our relationship with the Lord which will last for all eternity?

I will be praying for you today. Praying that you will never forget that Christ MUST be first in your life at all times, in all things. We can never allow any person, our career, our hobbies or interests, or the “things of this world to become more important than Jesus. He has got to be our first priority and our first love at all times. The Lord gives us special people to share this life with, He gives us gifts and talents to use in our careers, He gives us passions and desires for the things we enjoy in this life, and it is the Lord who blesses us with the material goods we have during our life.

We must never fall into the trap of loving the things of this world more than we love Jesus. When this life is over, the things of this world will pass away and it is only our relationship with Jesus Christ that will last for all eternity. Don’t get so focused on the “temporal things of this world” that you miss the eternal things of God!

In His love and service,
Your friend and brother in Christ,
Bill Keller

An Economy in Crisis and a God Who is Not

(Matthew 6:25-34)

An economy in crisis, a God who is not! I was not shocked last week when the latest $800 billion plan to save the economy was shoved through and signed by the President. It is amazing how fast things can get done in Washington when the political careers of people in both parties are on the line. As always, it is the taxpayer who will lose when the dust has settled and this $800 billion makes no difference just like the $700 billion we flushed down the toilet to “rescue the economy” back in September.

There are other viable, more prudent options to deal with these deep rooted problems, but none that are quick enough to avoid a global economic meltdown we are experiencing. Don’t be fooled. Even with whatever bill they pass 6 months from now, the average consumer is going to have a very difficult time getting credit for a long time. It is going to be very difficult to get a home mortgage. It is going to be very difficult to get a school loan. It is going to be very difficult to get a car loan. It is going to be very difficult to get any sort of credit because the companies who give credit are going to have trouble themselves in getting the credit they need to operate.

I don’t normally give out financial advice, but let me share just a couple of basic thoughts. Unless God continues to unleash His wrath on this nation through the economy, in which case everyone will be affected in a major way and the current system as we know it will be destroyed, be patient through this. Most people have already taken the hit in their 401k, in their stocks, in their other investments this year. Most of these should be long term investments, so hang in there and don’t panic and sell.

Try not to add on any more debt. Take it easy with your credit cards. Don’t worry about the value of your house for a while. It is going to take a while for the real estate market to come back, so don’t worry if your house has depreciated. We may be in for a few years of economic hard times, but it will eventually bounce back. Patience and discipline are the keys during these troubled times.

It is during these unsettling times that we must learn how to really become dependent upon God. We must never forget that it is God who opens the door for our employment. It is God who gives us wisdom and discernment in handling our finances. Everything we have is simply on loan from God and we are simply stewards over the things He entrusts into our care during this life. God is our provider and our source.

God has promised in His Word to meet our daily needs. In Matthew 6:33 Jesus said, “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” What things? All of the things the Lord spoke about in the preceding verses, food, clothing, and shelter. God has promised to meet your daily needs. Our job is to seek Him and His Kingdom.

Listen, I am well aware of the hard times many in the Liveprayer family are going through. People out of work. People losing their homes. People struggling just to pay their basic bills. Many people are going through very difficult times. I pray daily for God to meet these needs of employment and the basic finances just to live. I want you to know that if you are struggling today, God has not forsaken you and will not abandon you.

Just the opposite. He has promised to never leave you nor forsake you. Now is the time to make your faith real and to trust Him to provide for your needs. God is amazing how He works. His promises are true. Please know that I am here and praying for you as God gudies you through these difficult times.

Liveprayer has also been dealing with the fallout of the economy for the past 2 years now. From 2003 thru the end of 2006, we have had a group of apx 30 people who love the Lord and had a real burden for His work here at Liveprayer. This group was blessed financially and were able to send between $5k-$10k when I called on them with an emergency. During 2007, we lost about half of this group since they were involved in some way with the housing industry. They were home builders, people in the mortgage industry, real estate agents, appraisers, and others whose finances were tied to the housing industry.

During the course of this past year, we lost another 10 from this group who were connected to Wall Street and have had horrible years financially. Three months ago, our largest donor over the years passed away after a long bout with cancer. So this special group that I depend on and gives me so much peace just knowing they are there, is now down to only 2. *If the Lord has blessed you financially, please pray about being part of this special group. I have never called on anyone in this group for help unless it was an emergency. If God is leading you to be part of this group, please let me know.

The good news is the donor base to keep Liveprayer.com going is very solid. We have a wonderful group of people who love the Lord and faithfully send in their $25, $50, $100, or more each month to keep our base internet operations solid. The Internet TV program is doing well, and the ad revenues from the first two qtrs of 2009, will enable us to pay off the notes to the 20 people who helped us launch that vital part of the ministry during 2008.

So we keep pressing on, doing our best to be faithful each day as we reach out to the lost and hurting with the hope and love of Jesus Christ while bringing His Truth into the marketplace. I never forget for a moment that without your love, prayers, and financial sacrifice, Liveprayer would not exist. So I am thankful each day for the opportunity we have to serve the Lord, knowing HE is the ONLY hope and ONLY answer for this nation, the nations of the world, and for each person!!!

I love you and care about you so much. I know many people are very concerned about the current economic crisis we are facing. As painful as this time is for so many, I also see it as a great opportunity to share the hope and love of Christ with people. It is in these types of times, people start to realize that there has to be something greater than themselves. Let me encourage you to look for the opportunities to share His hope with people as you discuss these economic problems we are facing.

Unless God continues to pour out His wrath on our nation for our wickedness, using the economy as His instrument of judgment, it will eventually get better. In the meantime, I will be praying for those who are dealing with difficult financial problems in your life today. I can only pray that during these trying days, you find the peace, strength, and hope that only the Lord can provide. I will be praying for you and your family as HE gudies you through these difficult days and meets your every need.

Thank you for praying for me and the work of God here at Liveprayer. Now more than ever we have got to press forward. These are the moments God has raised up this work. To be His voice and shining light in the midst of the darkness and turmoil of this world. For those who God has blessed and are able, please pray about making that sacrifice each month to insure God’s work here continues to move forward. Thank you for helping me!

In His love and service,
Your friend and brother in Christ,
Bill Keller

Abstinence, Teen Mothers and Fathers

(1 Corinthians 6:18, Hebrews 13:4)

Abstinence, teen mothers and fathers. During the recent Florida State Fair, one of the things God showed me through my spiritual eyes was the incredible number of young girls, 18 and under, pushing a stroller. It seemed like there was an endless stream of young white, black, Hispanic, and Asian girls passing by the Liveprayer Gospel Tent with their babies. It became so heavy on my heart, that I wanted to address this today in the context of the abstinence issue.

Over this past weekend, FOX News host and Scientologist cult member Great Van Susteren interviewed Bristol Palin, the 18-year-old daughter of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, regarding the birth of her baby boy. The critical comment in this interview about being a single teen mom came when she spoke of abstinence. Bristol stated, “Abstinence is the best option but not realistic at all.”

Now you have to remember, this is a young girl who was raised in the church. She comes from a Christian home. This is important to point out since even kids who have Christian parents and brought up in the church, have been so brainwashed by our culture from birth, that they look at abstinence as totally unrealistic if they even consider it at all. If this is the mindset of kids who have been raised in the church and from Christian homes, how can we be shocked when the vast majority of teens and young adults who don’t have Christian parents and have never even been to church view abstinence as a joke?

Once again, much of the blame has to go to the church for allowing the culture to dictate our beliefs, instead of the church dictating our beliefs to the culture. 50 years ago, it was understood that sex was to be experienced in the bonds of marriage. Did that mean teens and young adults didn’t have sex outside of marriage? Of course not. However, it was UNDERSTOOD BY SOCIETY that it was not God’s plan and it was a sin. 50 years later, anyone who advocates abstinence is viewed as out of touch and believing in the impossible, and the church to “be accepted,” has done a miserable job of fighting the lies of satan regarding sex and abstinence.

One of the key points I have raised with you for nearly 10 years now is that God’s way works, our way doesn’t. THE BIBLE WORKS IN ALL AREAS OF LIFE! The Bible teaches abstinence from all sexual relations until marriage. If people followed God’s plan, there would be no out of wedlock births, there would be no STDs, abortions would virtually cease to exist, the lives of so many teens and young adults would not be dramatically altered by having a child when they themselves are still children, not to mention the harm growing up in such an environment does to the baby. An incredible amount of pain and heartache and damaged lives would be avoided.

*Case in point. The recent sad tragic out of Orlando involving teen mom Casey Anthony who is in jail, accused of killing her 3-year-old baby Cayley, is a classic story of a teen mother whose life is over because she chose to live in rebellion to God and have sex outside of marriage, when she clearly had no business having a child.

Here is the bottom line to the abstinence issue. Simply preaching a message of abstinence is not good enough. From the time a child has the ability to understand the difference between a boy and a girl, they need to be taught what God’s plan is for sex and why it is the best choice. Is elementary school too early to be teaching children about abstinence? Probably. But the problem is the world is already bombarding them with the lies of satan on this issue, so those lies must be exposed and challenged. Children must be taught not only that abstinence is the best choice, but why.

Even by taking a proactive stance on this issue, it is a battle. Children, teens, and young adults are slammed virtually 24/7 with the message that sex is good any time, any place, any way, and with any person from birth. Due to the fact the better percentage of two full generations don’t go to church, the vast majority of kids are never even going to hear the abstinence message. Their only point of reference on sex are the lies they are fed by the world. So between the media, friends, and the culture in general, children, teens, and young adults who are hearing the abstinence message at home and at church, are being told it is an outdated and unrealistic concept.

The fact is, Bristol Palin was correct in stating that abstinence IS unrealistic unless a person has a real, personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Without the strength of Christ, we are susceptible to falling into all types of sin. Does this mean that teens and young adults who are saved will never have sex outside of marriage? Of course not. However, without a real daily walk with Christ, falling into sexual sins and every other type of sin is inevitable. It is only when we are living a committed life for Christ, yielded daily to the power of the Holy Spirit, that we can live victoriously and abstaining from sex outside of marriage is possible.

I love you and care about you so much. We are living in a nation that has totally bought the lies of satan regarding sex. God’s plan for sex only in the bonds of marriage is no longer accepted by society, and the byproduct is an ever growing number of teen moms and dads, babies growing up in all kinds of unhealthy environments, and a cycle of sin and destroyed lives that continues with each generation. It is too late to turn society back to God’s standards, so the efforts have to be made at home and in the churches to impact the lives of as many children, teens, and young adults as possible with God’s plan for sex.

For those teens and young adults who are currently pregnant and preparing to have a child. I will be praying for you as you turn to the Lord and find His strength and guidance to help you be the best mom and dad you can to your baby. For those teens and young adults who already have a child, now is the time to realize the Lord is calling you to be a Godly mom and dad to your child and that your greatest job is to raise that child in the admonition of the Lord and in His love.

For those teens and young adults who have not sinned in this area, pray daily for the Lord to give you strength to stand firm in His Truth and know that His way is the best way. The world has lied to you about sex in order to destroy your life! Live your life according to His word and wait for marriage to have sex and it will be the wonderful gift God designed it to be, and any children will be a blessing of your marriage.

I am also praying today for those courageous servants of the Lord who have taken this fight to the culture. Fighting to teach abstinence in our schools. Fighting to teach abstinence in our churches. Fighting to teach abstinence in our homes. Let me remind you that while we must take this message to the culture, we must also make sure that these teens and young adults understand that not only is abstinence their best choice, but it is a choice that has to be made in conjunction with a real, vibrant, daily, personal walk with Christ. A personal faith in Jesus is the key to making abstinence work!

An Issue the Church Refuses to Deal With – Mental Illness

(John 17:31; Romans 14:17; Nehemiah 8:10)

An issue the church and most people refuse to deal with, is the reality of mental illness and depression that so many suffer from. Let me say right up front. Mental illness is just as real as a broken leg. Just because it is not a visible illness, does not mean it is not as real as someone with a broken bone, a bad heart, or any other illness. MENTAL ILLNESS AND DEPRESSION ARE REAL!

I have shared with you in the past that God’s number one instrument of healing is called a DOCTOR. One of God’s chief methods of healing is called MEDICINE. Where do you think the incredible intelligence and the special gift to be a doctor comes from? It comes from God! Where do you think the incredible intelligence, and the inspiration to create medicine comes from? It comes from God!

I want to encourage anyone today that is suffering from any form of mental illness or depression to seek out the best professional help possible. God has raised up mental health professionals and given men the wisdom to create drugs to treat mental illness, so that you can live a normal and productive life. Just like there is no reason to be ashamed to see a doctor if you break your arm, just like there is no reason to be ashamed if you have to take medicine to treat a kidney problem, there is no reason to be ashamed to see a doctor or take the proper medication if you suffer from mental illness or depression!

For many people that are suffering from depression, I want to help you find the joy in life again. Many who suffer from depression have simply allowed the events and circumstances of their life to overwhelm and paralyze them. We learn at an early age how to deal with the day to day issues of life, how to deal with problems. What happens to many who are depressed, is they have simply been unable to cope with the things that have happened to them and can’t seem to get past certain problems in their life.

Feelings change all the time. Our feelings are based on our perception of an issue or problem. For example, if you have $20,000 of debt and you are only making $30,000 a year with nothing left over after the basic living needs are met, you might perceive that $20,000 of debt to be a mountain that is impossible to move. If you continue to focus on that mountain, it starts to get bigger, and bigger, and soon your perception is that it is impossible to ever be free from your debt. The longer you focus on the problem, the bigger it becomes and that is when depression can set in. Depression is the result of being hopeless.

However, even though you may have $20,000 of debt and are only making $30,000 a year with nothing left over after your basic living needs are met, you might look at that $20,000 of debt, not as a mountain impossible to move, but simply an obstacle that has to be dealt with. In other words, you don’t focus on the mountain, but you focus on a way to move the mountain. You come up with a plan to retire the debt over a period of time, and instead of letting depression set in due to looking at the situation as hopeless, you maintain a positive outlook since that debt is simply an issue that has to be taken care of. Depression can’t set in where there is hope. Let me say that one more time. DEPRESSION CAN’T SET IN WHERE THERE IS HOPE!

The other part of the answer to depression is serving others. The Bible teaches us that if we will be about our Father’s business, our Father will be about our business. If we will serve others, it is amazing how our own problems become more manageable. If you are suffering from depression, let me encourage you today to get out and start finding ways to serve others. You see, when we serve others, we are serving God. Our God-given purpose in this life is to serve and glorify God with our lives. Depression can’t set in when you are serving others. Let me say that one more time. DEPRESSION CAN’T SET IN WHEN YOU ARE SERVING OTHERS!

I love you and care about you so much. I realize many people suffer from some form of mental illness that is just as real as any other type of illness. I will be praying today that those who are suffering from some form of mental illness, will seek out the best professional help possible and take advantage of whatever medication that is prescribed to treat you. God is still in the healing business, and GOD CAN BRING HEALING TO THOSE SUFFERING FROM MENTAL ILLNESS.

I will also be praying for those of you today who are suffering from depression. The two-fold answer for overcoming your depression and finding the joy of the Lord again in your life, is hope and service. Seeking the Lord to give you wisdom and direction in finding a solution to whatever problems or issues you are facing in your life. If you stay focused on Christ, He will give you the hope to get victory over whatever you are facing today.

The other part of the answer is finding ways to serve others. I pray that you will get serious about finding ways to serve others. God has called us to serve others, and when we are doing that, fulfilling our purpose in life, our own problems simply don’t seem as great. When you are busy serving others, you don’t have time to get depressed.

I pray that this word today will be a breakthrough in your life if you are battling with mental illness or depression. God loves you very much. He wants you to have joy in your life, despite whatever trials and tribulations you may be experiencing. That joy comes from knowing Christ as our Savior. When we know Christ, there is no such thing as being hopeless. When we know Christ, we have a desire to serve Him by serving others. It is through Christ that you can have victory over mental illness and depression!

In His love and service,
Your friend and brother in Christ,
Bill Keller

Everyone has Those Times when the Burdens of this Life can Become Overwhelming

(Galatians 6:2)

Everyone who lives, has those times when the burdens of this life can become overwhelming. Whatever the reasons, however it happened, you wake up feeling like the weight of the world is on your shoulders. The joy, the peace, the pleasures of this life seem so far away. We have all been through those valleys so we know how difficult it can be. I often talk to you about being in the will of God. That can be difficult at times determining exactly what God’s will is for our life, but there are some basics God expects us to do that the Bible clearly tells us are His will for our life.

One of those is to bear the burdens of others. I want to really challenge you today to put aside your cares and help someone you know who is struggling to carry their load today. I realize that you may be dealing with some difficult issues yourself, but there is someone God has placed in your life, a family member, neighbor, schoolmate, coworker, a friend…someone who is really hurting and struggling under the weight of their problems today. God is telling you to go help that person carry their burden. The Bible teaches us that when we are about our Father’s business, He will be about ours.

As we know, many people are reluctant to open up about the very intimate problems of life. That can make it difficult for someone trying to help. But even if they don’t totally open up, just your interest, your compassion, your desire to help can make all the difference to that person. The Bible teaches that we really are our brother’s keeper. Reaching out with the love of Christ to someone who is hurting is the ultimate ministry anyone can perform in this life.

If you read the accounts of the earthly ministry of Jesus in the Gospels, you will see much of His ministry was one on one with hurting people. That is the example He has left us. I am challenging you today to find that someone in your life, hurting, falling under the weight of their problems, and pick them up. Pick them up and carry them for a while. It is what Jesus would do, it is what God is asking you to do today.

I love you and care about you so much. I want to see you enjoy all of the blessings God has for your life. Helping others in their hour of need is one of the greatest ways God can use your life and you will be blessed beyond your imagination for your faithfulness. Serving others is something you don’t need a seminary degree for, you don’t need any special training for.

Serving others is what God expects from all His children and He has given you a new heart of love to make it possible to share that love with others. You see, without the Lord, we have a difficult time loving ourselves, let alone others. But when we realize how much God loved us, and sacrificed for us, it becomes easy for us to love others.

Bearing the burdens of others is what we do each day here at Liveprayer. It is what God has called me to do with my life. Please don’t hesitate to contact me if there is any way I can help you. You are special to me and I will try my best to help you walk through the problems you are facing, and be victorious. God loves you, and my only desire is to see you become the best you can be for Him. You can do that today by finding a brother or sister in need and helping them carry their burden. That is God’s will for you.

In His love and service,
Your friend and brother in Christ,
Bill Keller

Declaring Jesus to All and Praising His Name

(Luke 19:40; Romans 10:14)

“I tell you,” he replied, “if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out.” – (Luke 19:40)

“How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?” – (Romans 10:14)

I love the interaction in Luke 19 with Jesus and the Pharisees as they were complaining to Jesus about His disciples who were declaring for all to hear His miracles and without shame praising His name! We are His disciples and that is what we should be doing. Telling others how Jesus has changed our lives and praising Him before this lost world we live in. Jesus told the Pharisees that even if all His disciples were silent, the very rocks would cry out!!! My word for you today is simply this. Tell others what Jesus has done for you and boldly declare to this lost world that Jesus Christ is our only hope and our only answer.

Some may ask why we have been commanded to tell others about our faith in Jesus. The answer to that question is found in the book or Romans, in Chapter 10 verse 14 where God’s Word says, “How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?” How can we expect someone to get saved if they have never been told how? How are they suppose to be told how to get saved unless some person tells them? God’s Word is clear that all of those who know Jesus as their Savior have been called to tell others about His love. This is not just the job of the pastor or evangelist, but ALL who call Christ Lord!

Sadly, this message needs to be read by some very high profile servants of the Lord who have no problem declaring Jesus to their church, but are silent when speaking to the lost world. The sad thing is, those in the church have heard how to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, many of the lost souls outside the 4 walls of the church have not. Nowhere does the Bible say we are to only preach to those who are already Christians. It actually COMMANDS us to take the message of Christ to those who are NOT Christians!

I have documented in the past the numerous opportunities Joel Osteen, who pastors the largest church in he United States, has had in major secular media venues to tell people that Jesus is their only hope, their only answer. His desire to sell books is greater than his desire to save souls since time and time again he refuses to declare that Jesus is the ONLY way to Heaven. He even brags that he won’t talk about sin. How can you not talk about sin, since it is our sin that separates us from God?

During the Hurricane Katrina memorial service in Washington’s National Cathedral, Bishop T.D. Jakes gave the message. Here is a man who is famous for being a fiery orator, a powerful messenger of the Gospel, yet on this occasion with the world watching, he refused to tell millions of lost souls that Jesus was the only hope for the victims of Hurricane Katrina, Jesus was the only hope for this world, and that Jesus was the only hope for each one of them. Instead, he delivered a tame, politically correct message that any Muslim, follower of any of the world’s false religions, or even an atheist would be comfortable with.

A few years ago, Paula White was on the nationally syndicated Tyra Banks program. It was almost miraculous that she was on for nearly one full hour and never ONCE mentioned the name of Jesus, prayer, God, the fact she was a Christian (she even failed to mention her salvation in sharing her life story), on Christian TV, or a pastor. She called herself a “life coach,” stated she had some sort of psychology degree that qualified her to counsel several women on the program who had problems, and mimicked the infamous Dr. Phil in giving out pop-psycho babble answers to these women’s problems.

My friend, listen to me carefully. The only message we have is JESUS. Let me say that again. The ONLY message we have is Jesus. Joel Osteen is just another world-pleasing motivational speaker unless he tells people about Jesus. T.D. Jakes is just another guy who can talk unless he tells people about Jesus. Paula White is just another pretty face on TV unless she tells people about Jesus. The pastor of your local church is no better than the drunk at the local bar unless he tells people about Jesus. Bill Keller has NOTHING to tell over 2.4 million world wide every day via email unless he tells people about Jesus. YOU have nothing but empty words for people unless you tell them about Jesus. We have no message other than the message of Jesus!!!

I love you and care about you so much. I want to challenge you and encourage you today to become BOLD in declaring Christ to those God has put into your life. Your family, friends, neighbors, those you work with or go to school with, people you recreate with, in addition to the people you simply meet in the course of your daily life ARE THE VERY PEOPLE GOD HAS ALLOWED TO CROSS YOUR PATH, NOT BY ACCIDENT, BUT TO TELL THEM ABOUT JESUS!

Telling others is not an option, it is a commandment for all of those who know the Lord as their Savior. How can we expect someone to get saved unless they are told how. You are the one God has put in their life to tell them how. I pray today that you will hear these words, take this challenge, and begin to make it a priority in your life each day to tell others about Jesus. We have no message other than Jesus, and if we won’t declare His goodness and grace, if we won’t praise His name, the very rocks will cry out!!!

In His love and service,
Your friend and brother in Christ,
Bill Keller
